I love thrive for being the most scientificly accurate.
but rain world will always be my favorite
For series that have multiple titles to their name include all titles when considering your vote. For example consider all of the Monster Hunter mainline games. Spin offs can also be considered like Spore Creatures or Monster Hunter Frontier. Regardless if you are a fan of speculative evolution I suggest checking out all of these games/series! If there are any games that I did not list that you think would fit into this poll, comment them on this post and if there’s enough I’ll create a second poll!

2. Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip – Thou Shalt Always Kill De beste tekst ooit. Supergrappig en filosofisch. ‘Don’t use art or poetry, music to get into girls pants, use it to get into their heads.’ Briljant.
3. Rilan and the Bombadiers – Get Your Mind Right Ik ken Rilan een beetje en ik vind zijn stem echt geweldig. Het rockt aan alle kanten en deze man met die twee prachtige vrouwen achter zich, verdient een groot publiek. En groot respect. Stuur ze naar het Songfestival. Of zoiets. Weet ik veel, doe iets!
5. Bill Hicks – It’s just a ride Op dit lijstje mag een comedian niet ontbreken. Bill Hicks is de koning, kijk en luister en vergeet niet… Klik hier voor tickets en meer info.

Fivorites #9: Lisa Kekaula (The Bellrays, Lisa & The Lips) rock 'n soul songs Paard van Troje asked Lisa Kekaula, front singer of both The Bellrays and Lisa & The Lipe about her favorite rock 'n soul songs. This is what she came up with. 1. Ike and Tina Turner - Come Together The first time I saw this version of the Beatles song I was floored. This song crossed over into another sexual realm with the stank the Ike Turner band plays and of course the pure feline presents that is Tina Tuner and the Ikettes. 2. Al Green - Love and Happiness The introduction of the songs starts off like a lullaby with makes me drop my guard. The iconic guitar riff and backbeat make it a song I never tire from hearing. 3. Parliament - Flash Light I was a kid the first time I heard the tumble-down intro which is still one of the single funkiest things I've ever heard. The hard funk and playful nature of this song make it a staple on my playlist for life. 4. Stevie Wonder - Love Having You Around I grew up and learned to sing to '70's Stevie Wonder. This song means so much to me because I think this is where he crossed the line from what he was and how far he could go if he had no limits. This songs makes me feel strong when I hear it. 5. La Belle - Lady Marmalade Whenever I think or have to sing harmony I always think of this song. These three voices are a rock powerhouse that is only called soul because all the women are black. I love to listen and sing along anytime the comes on the radio or playlist.
Lisa will be performing live at Paard van Troje with her new project Lisa & the Lips on Friday May 2, 2014. For tickets, click here.

Fivorites #7: Maite Hontelé dazzling salsa songs Paard van Troje asked the Dutch but Colombia based trumpet player Maite Hontelé about her top 5 of dazzling salsa songs. This is what she came up with. 1. Grupo Folklorico y Experimental Nuevayorquino - Cuba Linda A record from 1975, a hommage to Cuban music, recorded in New York by all the stars of the then latin heaven. My favourite trumpet player ‘Chocolate’ Armenteros is on there as well. The song Cuba Linda is simply legendary. 2. Issac Delgado - La Titimania Issac Delgado is one of my favorite Cuban singers. Last year I played a show with him in Cuba: an unforgettable experience. The song swings to the max and has its own unique sound: modern Cuban salsa without being all too complex. La Titimania is an old song that’s been performed by Los Van Van, but has been rearranged by Alain Pérez, who gave it a whole new vibe. 3. La Sonora Ponceña- Rumba en el Patio This is my favorite salsa band from Puerto Rico. They’re with four trumpet players, so you could say that I might be a bit biased. Yolanda Rivera, the singer of this song, has a unique, beautiful voice that hits me straight in the heart when I hear it. Pianist Papo Lucca has been the band leader of this band since decades now and my personal musical hero. 4. Alain Pérez - Camino del Oso To me, Alain Pérez is the most important Cuban musician and composer. He sings the song ‘Qué Bonito’ on my last cd, of which we made a video as well. Alain is a musical Renaissance man. He has been the musical leader and arranger of Celia Cruz, amongst others. 5. Pete 'El Conde' Rodriguez - Dulce con Dulce A classic in the salsa genre. This is New York in the seventies pur sang. Unfortunately Pete ‘El Conde’ has passed away, but he has been one of the most important singers of the ‘salsa dura’ movement. Maite will be performing live at Paard van Troje on Saturday March 29, 2014. For tickets, click here.

Fivorites #6: Eller van Buuren acoustic songs Paard van Troje asked musician, singer-songwriter and brother of DJ Armin van Buuren about his top 5 favorite acoustic songs. Indecisively, Eller gave us seven of his favorites. ‘I like these kind of questions. Usually I'm not a big fan of "top 5's or top 40's" because I can not choose between the thousands of songs I like. So my top 5 has become a top 7 now… And then I had to stop myself. But I like sharing music with other people. I operate in different music genres myself, but my album "Eller van Buuren presents Acoustic Dance Music" makes it clear that I like acoustic music. However, the question that arises is: "What is acoustic?" For me it means something which has been recorded with a microphone (literally the 'acoustics' is an instrument on itself), so it can be interpreted very widely. 1. Avishai Cohen - The Ever Evolving Etude I got to know this album because I was touched by the recordings of the piano, when I heard it on an online jazz radio show (Cafe Paris). So beautifully recorded. When I downloaded the album on iTunes I heard the rest of the album. They are all amazing songs. The Ever Evolving Etude is one of my favorites, because it's funny, VERY well played (the drummer is 22 years old!), it confuses you, and it grooves like hell. The simple piano melody in the start of the song combined with the complexity of the rest. It's worth playing it for a couple of times. 2. Wallis Bird - Counting to Sleep I like the different beats and rhythms in the song, I like the vocals, very light song. I like the way the lines of the guitarist are incorporated in the song. They other instruments play together perfectly with the guitar. You have to get used to it, but then you will get addicted. The production is very dry in a way, which I like with a song like this. 3. John Mayer - Neon Amazing concert, amazing guitar player, who perfectly knows how to combine his amazing techniques and skills and blend them into great songs. It's an achievement on itself as a musician to take dare to open your concert like this. 4. Melody Gardot - Baby I'm A Fool All time favorite. Beautifully orchestrated, very groovy vocals. The song grooves big time, but then again it doesn't have a real groove like the ones that one might hear in funk music. She plays the guitar herself. Sweet and qualitatively very good as well. Beautifully played and very well recorded. 5. Alison Krauss & Union Station - Lucky One All time favourite. Typical country & western music. Jerry Douglas is an amazing guitarist, but he wouldn't be able to pull it off without his amazing band members. Great sing-along. I like singing a backing vocal on this while driving my car. 6. Rufus Wainwright - In My Arms All time favorite. You gotta love it, though. I like the backing vocal. It sounds very depressed in a way, but I like that every now and then. 7. Armand Amar - Le Destin (Album: Pour Une Femme). I've never seen the film, but I'm a big fan of almost all Armand Amar's music. Makes me feel very melancholic. I listen to this a lot when I'm on the plane (which is the case at the moment), being happy with the performance. It makes you feel like you're living in a movie about yourself. Eller will be performing live at Paard van Troje on Thursday March 6, 2014. For tickets, click: http://www.paard.nl/event/3361/ELLER-VAN-BUUREN

Fivorites #5: Cesar Zuiderwijk on the road songs Paard van Troje asked Golden Earring drummer Cesar Zuiderwijk about this favorite songs to listen to when on the road. This is what he came up with: 1. Rock ’n Roll – Led Zeppelin The song title says it all. An incredible drum rhythm by John Bonham serves as the introduction for an incredible song. The Foo Fighters’ live version at Wembley, where Jimmy Page joins in, is really great as well. 2. ZZ Top – Sharp Dressed Man The ideal rhythm for a road song/sing-along. 3. Robert Palmer – Bad Case of Loving You (Doctor Doctor) Try not to think about the video clip too much, that will definitely divert your attention from the road… 4. Ike & Tina Turner - Nutbush City Limits Nice, thrusting rhythm. Try to contain yourself while driving…holding down the gas pedal further and further will seem very attractive 5. Free – All Right now One of the strongest choruses ever, makes you want to pull over to the side of the road and play air guitar like a madman. Cesar will be performing live at Paard van Troje on Saturday February 8, 2014. For tickets, click here.

Fivorites #4: Kapok dazzling jazz songs Paard van Troje asked the young cross over jazz trio Kapok about their top five jazz songs that make your head spin. This is what they came up with.
1. Buddy Rich Big Band - Mercy, Mercy, Mercy Bigband soul jazz group that has an insane groove going on. The band is led by the legendary Buddy Rich, who is supposedly well known for his tyranny as a bandleader. The band really does sound great though. 2. Ploctones - Shortcuts Freakin’ next level freefunk by Holland’s weirdest groovejazzband, led by guitar hero Anton Goudsmit. These guys can pull off anything. Try to focus on the bizar intervals of drummer Martijn Vink in this song. 3. Nina Simone - Sinnerman Well, there isn’t much to be said about this track…you just have to experience it by listening to it. 4. Dizzy Gillespie - Be-bop Know your classics! Trumpet player Dizzy Gillespie has been mentioned as one of the founders of the bebop musical era that erupted in the 1940’s, together with saxophone player Charlie Parker, amongst others. Their quintet flipped the whole jazz-scene upside down. You’re immediately sucked into the past; thrown back to the sweaty, musty jazzclubs of 1940’s New York City. 5. Bushman's Revenge - Bølehøgda Rock City Rough edged, spaced out Scandinavian improv-rock. One of the coolest bands we have heard in a while. Turn the volume up to 10!
Kapok will be performing live at Paard van Troje on March 14, 2014. For tickets, click here.

Fivorites #1: Stefan Schill winter songs ‘There’s really no explanation why exactly these are my favourite winter/christmas songs. I've actually heard most of them during winter time. They remind me of something dark. Something cold. These are songs I can put on in the car while ‘driving home for Christmas’ and which just "hit me", especially then.' 1. This Years Love - David Gray 2. St Patricks Day - John Mayer 3. Come Back To Bed - John Mayer 4. Beth/Rest - Bon Iver 5. Giving Me A Chance - Gotye Stefan Schill Band will be performing live at Paard van Troje on January 10, 2014. For tickets, click here.
