Fittrat series review...

It's a zee5 series

I watched this series when it released and again today to write about it. When I watched it for the first time I loved the story because it didn't have a forceful happy ending like bollywood movies have. This series's main focus in on the friendship shared by two female leads Tarini Bisht and Amrita aka Amy Sareen who were childhood besties. Amrita is a rich girl and Tarini is from a middle class family, her dream from her childhood due to the circumstances faced by her is to find a rich man and become a rich wife to him to fit in that circle and she is vocal about that to everyone around her. She and her friend part ways after their college and meet after years when Amy was about to get married to Veer Shargil who starts liking Tarini. She keeps distance from him because of the sister code with her best friend but he gets crazy and so obsessed about her that because she is denying his advances he breaks her friendship with Amy by putting false allegations on her that she was trying to take things forward with Veer and since everyone knows her dream about marrying a rich guy they accuse her of snatching her own bff's fiance and throw her out of their house with humiliation.

She wants revenge and even wants Amy to understand that VEER is not the right guy for her so she goes on a mission to destroy him and at the end he confesses his love for her but she gets him arrested and both the friends unite after Amy meets Tarini and appologises to her.

According to me, the the story is good as it is unique and shows that 2 girls can be this close to eachother. It shows various red flags in a relationship. It shows how obsession and having the attitude of "I AM RICH SO YOU HAVE TO LOVE ME BECAUSE I HAVE EVERYTHING" is not right as at the end Tarini realises that she doesn't need a man to buy her stuff, she can work and earn for herself. Every character grows at the end, Tarini realises her potential, Amy understands love's meaning and who Veer is actually and Veer becomes himself again as he was working like a robot without feelings before Tarini entered his life.

At the end Veer was portrait as a hero as he allowed Tarini to destroy him as he was that much in love with her and confessed everything to Amy but according to me Tarini is the actual hero as she works hard and becomes rich at the end because of that hard work and she destroyed Veer even though she has started developing feelings for him because he misbehaved with her and was cheating on her bestfriend Amy.

The series had beautiful songs, showed all the characters in different shades, showed how real the world and competition outside is, showed the ugly truth of human greed for money and power is and how at the end showed which relationship is a green flag and which one is red. The name "fittrat" means character or nature of a person which in the series is shown through Tarini Bisht's character growth.

Thoughts on the 3 main characters in Fittrat + Bunty?

Liked Tarini a lot more than I expected. I thought it would be just another stereotypical depiction of a “gold digger” but she was way more than that. She was smart and persistent and loyal and a very compelling character worth rooting for.

Amy was meh. She existed to further the plot, that’s pretty much it.

Idk what I feel about Veer. Like, it was confusing how the show treated him. He was a spoilt, shadyass, rapey creep; but also capable of deeper feelings? Idk man, ultimately, I’m glad they resolved the character the way they did. Excellent choice in casting Aditya Seal though, coz he plays both menacing and soft-eyed puppy within the same person quite convincingly.

Bunty was the best character. Pure, wholesome character. I like that actor a lot, he’s very likable in everything I’ve seen him in (Jab Harry Met Sejal, a few scenes of Dil Toh Happy Hai Ji, etc.) I liked his bond with Tarini a lot.

Coz we’re conditioned to find that shit romantic, even when it really wasn’t. In most scenes, Tarini was uncomfortable and resisting him, but we’re conditioned by desi media that “ladki ki naa mein hi haan hai.” There *was* solid chemistry though, in the scene(s) where she did consent.

Halfway through Fittrat...

.... and I’m pleasantly surprised. Not what I expected from the trailer.

But AltBalaji shows always have a way of throwing away allllll the buildup and goodwill in the last few eps, so I’ll reserve final opinions for when I’m fully done.
