Sanctuary is something I’m really proud of. ORIGIN STORY:

It was the first time I drew something resembling comic pages. Many attempts were made after it and I wasn’t happy with them. Drawing anatomy and colors are holding me back. But at least the first one turned out much cooler than I expected!

I’ve thought about a little comic with Talos and co. when I first read the NL Trilogy. Some of the imageries and implied past stories are perfect to visualize that way. But I never did it because at the time my attitude was “I can’t draw lol” and it took forever to get out of that headspace. Then, the requests and prompts from Cody in the Sanguinala Exchange finally gave me the motivation, as well as her amazing heartwrenching fics.

Then I spent a long time to work on the colors, which involved failing at black-and-white multiple times and turned back to more "jumpy" colors, like in my Kamen Rider stuff. The rest of everything was a mess, filled with too many thoughts and a background noise of some small dialogues I could probably add to it.

It used to have text bubbles for all the dialogues, but I decided to ditch them because a) I have no idea how to make them look nice; b) kind of wanted to create the feeling of half-forgotten memories droning in the back of someone’s head.

Talos and Xarl’s relationship was complicated, but both were oblivious to feelings, especially Talos. From what I read of them, Xarl can acknowledge a little when it finally gets to him, but much harder for Talos to do so.

I want him to know that he’s got someone, since the beginning of everything, and created a place in his memory where his conscience can rest even without him acknowledging that. Maybe it’s why a sliver of his conscience could survive. He’s been protected in his brothers’ own ways, first Xarl and then First Claw.

i think the hottest look you can give someone after they commit acts of unspeakable violence is approval. like don't get me wrong if there's lust there too that's great, but staring at someone with gore dripping down their chin and coating their hands to the wrists with undisguised appraisal and admiration. maybe giving them a little nod as if to say 'well done'. My design for Talos in the void stalker (book 3 of the omnibus) era

Spoilers!! Detail reasonings below the cut

- scarring from the skin grafts after half his face got blown off in the previous book in the fight with third claw

- I imagine his hair would’ve grown out a bit while he was chained to the command throne on the Echo and given the fast paced and unhinged nature of everything after that I sincerely doubt he’d bother to cut it

- nosebleed just cause that happens pretty frequently in that book our boy is going through it with his prophetic abilities

Dude I need claws SO bad. Except I need prosthetics to be really sturdy, so I can actually like. Use them for shit. Like I wanna be able to wear them to help me climb or claw at stuff or whatever I need them for. But people only make like plastic or foam or resin claws. It's not STRONG enough. I need like. IRON claws. STEEL claws. Claws I can climb trees and rock faces with. Claws that could kill a man if I wanted them to. It's a fucking TRAGEDY these aren't a thing, and I swear to God I'm about to learn metalworking just so I can make myself a suitable set.

cannot think too hard about the fact that vivienne was young when she first originally met bastien, the head of the council of heralds, and he took an interest in her when he was likely well into his forties. cannot think about how the moment he set eyes on her during the wintersend ball she was made a target of the rest of the orlesian court. can't think about how she was forced into becoming a player of the game and that she NEEDED to become good at it and have bastien's support or she would of been killed. having a very normal one about vivienne today, clearly

Danny huddled beneath the mass of warm scales, trying to avoid the rain that sputtered and hissed into steam whenever it touched the resting form of the older halfa. He choked on broken chirps, burying his head against his tail. Everything hurt, one of his paws and wings gone- what had the wanted them for- 

He sniffled, not wanting to cry. At least- at least Jordan had managed to get them out, it could have been worse. Ancients, it could have been so much worse. Mom and Dad were… Ancients he didn’t want to even think about it- 

A huff of smoke wafted over him, and he looked up into Dan’s crimson eye- the other gone to do who knows what with. It was time to go- they couldn’t stay in one place, they had to keep moving lest the GIW catch up. They didn’t have a choice, not now, not if they didn’t want to die- if they ever could now. It didn’t matter. 

He stayed limp as he was picked up by the scruff, the rain soaking into his fur and scales (and still-healing injuries) as the larger dragon launched into the sky. They just had to keep moving, avoid any people, heroes included, and keep moving. Just keep moving.
