heyy! hope you’re having an awesome day so far, heard that your requests are open so i’m just gonna jump straight into it 😂 ok, could i get some headcanons of any of the bucci gang members taking notice of how the fem! reader (their crush) likes a certain artist/group (no need to use a specific one), whether it’s because she has posters of them in her room, she occasionally hums their songs, or the boys took a glance at her phone one time and see her listening to their songs, and so they decide to listen to that artist/group, regardless of whether or not it fits their music taste, so they could have something to talk about with the reader (i just started imagining abbacchio with his resting bitch face and headphones on, and people thinking he’s listening to rock but nope, he’s listening to k-pop girl groups LMAO) tysm! 🥰
THIS IS SO CUTE YES YES YES OKAY!! I hope you enjoy!!! <3
Bucci gang x Reader
Noticing your music
Bruno
For someone so observant I think it would take him a moment to catch on to who your favorite band is, the smaller stuff like the posters CDs humming wouldn’t be lost in him he’d just not connect it till you are having a lovely afternoon lunch with him and chatting about music (I think he’s a smooth jazz, classical, and maybe even some reggae something with feeling as long as that feeling is sensual)
He takes about 50 mental notes after he connects the dots. This would be a great vantage point to get closer to you. So he asks more questions than you expect, not that you mind.
As soon as he’s alone he’s researching and listening to everything he can. It’s different, sure but he likes it. Plus it’s directly connected to you so he is already inclined to love it.
He casually hums a tune around you to get you to perk up and start a conversation with him and he will take the invitation to discuss and turn it into you two spending the day with each other.
Mista
Knows you like a certain artist but didn’t realize how much till he caught sight of a record for the band and off handedly bought it for your birthday. Figured it could be a safe bet. Once you got it he was more than happy that you got so excited and hugged him over it.
After that he made it more of a point to listen to them and other artists like them and truth be told he started to like them a lot more than he thought he would. He would casually slide in close to you on a large couch and mention that he heard a song claiming it as superior.
He’s looking for any reaction really. If you disagree he will enjoy fake arguing and seeing you get riled up or if you agree he will lovingly gaze at how you excitedly explain why you agree.
Congratulations you made this dude pay more attention to your likes not just music but anything because he got addicted to the sight of you so excited on your birthday he wants it to be constant.
Narancia
Has probably heard the band's music already and probably has a strong opinion on it, I’ll say he disliked it at first… till he heard you sing the god awful lyrics. He was so mesmerized by you to make fun of your music taste. If you liked them they can’t be that bad right?
So he starts listening to them again and then he starts relating lyrics to you. All of a sudden it’s his favorite band too. He will steal posters or little items of that band for you and present them like you were lucky he was in your life.
Soon enough when you're singing to the songs he’s making it a duet and will make you dance around with him. He is so happy that he decided to listen again because there really is nothing better than twirling you in the kitchen.
Abbacchio
Noted your music taste and favorite band before you even had a full conversation with him. He of course probably didn’t like it. It wasn’t the worst sure but wasn’t his cup of tea.
This man is down bad though. I think he’s the type to be pinning after someone silently so that person would never know but he sure as shit do. So he’s so down bad for this lady that he extends out of his comfort zone and listens to it anyway.
You and him would be at a table together by “coincidence” (he learned your schedule and keeps subtly inserting himself into it) and he would very discreetly direct a conversation to music and prompt you to talk. There’s nothing he loves more than to listen to you talk.
He’s the only one who won’t say he listens to the band that’s a secret he keeps. That little piece of you he enjoys in his solitude. He doesn’t feel too lonely then.
Giorno
Clocked it so fast! Bro probably knows your likes and dislikes after the first day of encountering you. He’s terrifyingly observant. And so quiet about it too. He speaks up when it matters though! He would watch you put on a song that you played 5 times in the last week. He knows that because he’s firmly planted himself in your daily routine. Kinda like abba but so much more. He’s not too subtle with showing up in your life.
He is the only one that doesn’t listen to it in private. Instead when he notices a song he will ask about it and the band then ask to listen to more with you. He prefers to do this activity right near you. Listening to music in silence then discussing as if it was a philosophical debate.
Afterwards that band is listened to by him when he’s separated from you. Since he planted his roots into your life that means your firmly stuck in his now and he doesn’t quite like straying from that now so listening to your music suggestions gives him some reprieve from agonizing silence.

G-EAZY RELEASES SEVENTH STUDIO ALBUM "FREAK SHOW"
Tumblr media
Today, multi-platinum selling superstar G-Eazy releases his 7th studio album, Freak Show.  The album marks an explosive return for the artist as his first full-length project in nearly three years and ushers him into a brand-new musical era as a creative.
Freak Show sees G-Eazy return with abundance, following a three-year hiatus to creatively refresh and process the devastating loss of his mother. The album spans the many musical sensibilities of his artistry, leaning into his roots with “Lady Killers III,” a reimagined version of his viral hit “Lady Killers II,” and a softer vulnerability in songs such as “Love You Forever,” in which he opens up regarding his grief of losing a parent. In “Love You Forever,” he shares “some days I try to ignore it/some days I’m not strong enough for it/I knew I’d have to write this/knew it’d be hard to record it/without breaking down in the moment.” The album title track “Freak Show” features hitmaker MC, French Montana and encapsulates the sound so many have grown to love G on.
Last week, G released his newest single off the project, “Anxiety,” an upbeat track in which he addresses the ups and downs of his mental state. “Some days I’m high/Throw my pain away/Just to get by/It’s easier that way,” he confesses in the song’s chorus, going on to detail some of his most personal demons and the voice he battles in his own head. “Anxiety” serves as a poignant moment of self-reflection and honesty for G, giving fans a glimpse into his inner world.
In May, G-Eazy surprised fans with “Lady Killers III,” a brand-new version of his explosive viral hit, breathing new life into the much-loved track that has been taking the internet by storm in recent months. The original “Lady Killers Remix” experienced a major surge in viral popularity, rising to #2 on the Billboard TikTok chart, #4 on the Shazam U.S. Chart and #7 on the Shazam Global Chart. The song has broken into the Top 100 of Spotify’s Global Daily Streaming Chart and has led to record-setting engagement and total views on Tiktok after it was posted on his account.
Earlier this Spring, G-Eazy released his brand-new single “Femme Fatale” featuring two-time GRAMMY nominated and multiplatinum artist Coi Leray and rap sensation Kaliii. Released via RCA Records, “Femme Fatale” is the first new music from the artist in over a year. Highlighting G-Eazy’s expansive musical influences, the track features a classic sample from legendary Caribbean reggae funk group 20th Century Steel Band song “Heaven and Hell Is On Earth.”  The single arrived alongside an artistically styled lyric video that introduces fans to a new creative era for G-Eazy. SPIN said the song was  “easily on track to be one of the year’s most-played summer jams, with feminist power lyrics marbled into a signature Bay Area-style, womp-filled, with a hyphy-sounding beat.”
G-Eazy has also announced his “Freak Show” world tour across North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.Kicking off in Berkeley, CA on October 24th, the 41-date tour will stop in major markets across North America including Los Angeles, New York City, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas and more. The tour’s international leg will begin in Europe in 2025, including stops in Germany, France, Ireland and the UK before continuing on to dates in Australia and New Zealand.
Presale tickets and VIP Package sales will begin Wednesday, June 12th at 10:00AM local time with tickets for general onsale starting Friday, June 14th at 10:00AM local time. For more information and to sign up for early access to US presale tickets, visit https://g-eazy.com/pages/tour.

Film industry: ' Bounce Marley: One Love' Gets Together $7.4 Million on Friday, 'Madame Web' Falls Behind With $4.3 Million kingsley ben adir sway marley one love Central Pictures/Everett Assortment
Central's "Sway Marley: One Love" proceeded with its run as film industry pioneer through the particular six-day occasion outline, including $7.4 million Friday from 3,539 areas to knock its homegrown count to $25.3 million. The reggae legend's biopic could even surpass Sony's superhero film "Madame Web," which brought in $4.3 million from 4,013 theaters on Friday, after six days. North American take for the Wonder Comics variation presently remains at $12.5 million.
Both films opened on Valentine's Day and hope to continue their momentum through President's Day. On Wednesday, "One Love" established itself with an impressive $14 million, helped along by a few high-end large-format theaters (Madame Web has the majority, though). However the Reinaldo Marcus Green-coordinated show landed unremarkable surveys, it reverberated with early crowds, capturing an "A" grade from assessor Film Score. Principal caused a stir when it drop-kicked the film from an additional honors accommodating January date to the February occasion, yet the film appears to have tracked down an energetic crowd in its new right on the money the schedule. "One Love" conveys a $70 million creation spending plan and extra circulation and promoting costs. The projected six-day homegrown introduction north of $40 million, in addition to a significant worldwide total, is certainly not a terrible spot to "One Love." Given Marley's global appeal, the film is a play for international audiences. It should continue attracting crowds the next few weeks to not stress over a thing.
"One Love" stars Kingsley Ben-Adir as Bob Marley and Lashana Lynch as Rita Marley. The component tracks the performer's European and African visit, as well as the creation of his milestone collection "Mass migration."
"Madame Web" scored far more detestable surveys and some horrendous crowd scores (a "C+" through Film Score). Half a month prior, the independent comic book transformation had been projecting a six-day complete north of $30 million; presently, it'll probably complete nearer to $20 million. It's an unpropitious start up for an undertaking that was logical imagined and created as an establishment starter.
However Sony is a piece less shower with its superhuman financial plans than contenders at Disney and Warner Brothers., a $80 million creation financial plan and extra showcasing costs aren't precisely an unassuming speculation set-up for a secure return. Furthermore, memes that refer to Sony's less-than-stellar track record among superhero fans reinforce the rejection of "Madame Web," making it practically a separate online culture (see: Morbius, a vampire action film starring Jared Leto "Madame Web" might not be able to overcome the negative publicity.
Dakota Johnson stars in "Madame Web" as a that paramedic she has visionary capacities and starts to safeguard a threesome of young people from the wall-creeping executioner that killed her mom. Sydney Sweeney, Tahar Rahim, Isabela Merced, Celeste O'Connor, Emma Roberts, Adam Scott and Zosia Mamet ("Young ladies") likewise star. S.J. Clarkson coordinates.
"Argylle" will probably tumble to third place, extending a 32% fall in its third end of the week. The production produced by Apple Studios has proven to be the year's first well-known failure. The film, which has a big cast and cost the tech company more than $200 million, won't even make $40 million in the US in its first 17 days of release.
Even after its holiday debut, Universal's "Migration" is still challenging for third place. The Brightening creation ought to push to $116 million homegrown as the day progressed. Theaters will at last get another high-profile energized film for family crowds with "Kung Fu Panda 4" on Walk 8.
Understand Occasion's arrival of the religious television series "The Picked" could push "Wonka" out of the best five in its tenth few days of delivery. The Timothée Chalamet melodic keeps on being a reasonable attract an extremely peaceful commercial center, logical adding another $4 million or so through the four-day occasion outline. Homegrown count ought to before long hit $210 million, somewhat away from outperforming "Insect Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" ($214 million) to turn into the seventh-most noteworthy netting North American arrival of 2023.

Weremayhem: Song of Beasts. Ch 12: Hannah's Deer Problem
“Hey, Fanhannahs.” said Hannah to her live stem. She was next to Janice who was sitting in a chair. “Today we have a special guest for our makeup tutorial.” she added.
“Janice from the Electric Mayhem did a surprise pop-in to get a makeover,” said Hannah.
“Oh, like, hi!” said Janice with a smile on her face. The black haired female chuckles as she get some makeup and a brush.
“Okay, so, first, we’re gonna go in with some light shadow. Just to open the eye a little bit.” said Hannah.
“Like opening up your heart to your sister” replied the blonde female.
“Okay. To get the perfect blend, what you’re gonna wanna do is…” Hannah started to say before getting cut off.
“You mean like how sisters blend perfectly?” asked Janice.
“Okay” chuckled the black haired female. “So, you clearly have an agenda and I refuse to acknowledge it.” she added.
“So, how about we just slap on some lipstick and call it a day?” said Hannah as she put the makeup away and grabbed the lipstick.
“Kind of like how sisters need to lipstick together?” replied Janice.
“Okay, that one didn’t even make any sense” replied the black haired female as she turned to the blonde female.
She notices the camera is still on and nervously chuckles. “I mean, smash that like button and hit subscribe” Hannah said as Janice nodded her head. “Bye” they both said to the camera.
Hannah stops the live. She turns to the blonde female with a frown on her face.
“Wow. That was, like, so informative.” said Janice.
“Okay, I get it. Nora sent you” replied the black haired female.
“Well you can just go back and tell her to forget it.” she added.
“No, I came here on my own” replied the blonde female. “See, my life’s mission is to bring people together,” she added as she nodded her head.
“Yeah, remember when the Rolling Stones broke up?” Janice asked.
“The Stones never broke up” replied Hannah.
“That’s because I kept them together,” replied the blonde female.
“Okay, honestly, I don’t need my sister. So, just drop it” replied the black haired female, upset.
“For sure,” replied Janice.
“No, actually. My life is better without her” replied Hannah.
“For sure,” replied the blonde female.
“So, we’re good here?” asked the black haired female.
“For sure,” replied Janice.
“Okay. Is that a “For sure” as in, you give up or a “For sure” where you’re just humoring me?” asked Hannah.
Janice gets up. “For sure,” she whispers. The blonde female leaves. Hannah looks confused.
In the basement of the Shack, the band was getting ready to start playing some music. “Kesha, hi! Wow. We’re just so…” Nora started to say.
“Wow. You’re actually here to collab, in person, with the band.” she added. “It’s honestly. It’s just…Wow” Nora said.
“Anything for Lips” replied Kesha as she hugged Lips. “He’s the one that told me to drop the dollar sign out of my name,” she added.
“Aww, Tik Tok. I don’t know nothing about that” replied Lips.
“Cool. Cool, cool.” replied Nora.
“All right, let’s lay it down,” she said. Moog was standing next to her.
“Yep, Mayhem meets modern pop. We need something catchy and cute.” said Label Lady.
“About that, I did a deep dive into the lyrics. If you break it down, Rocking Robin’s story is so tragic” replied Kesha. Nora’s smile falls.
“Oh no” replied Janice.
“Think about it,” replied the woman. “Rockin’ in the treetops all day long.” Is that his choice or society’s?” she asked.
“So deep,” replied Zoot.
“I guess Kesha just imploded my brain and broke my heart” replied Dr. Teeth.
“That is what we’re gonna do with this song,” replied Kesha. Solemn music starts playing as the group sings. After the song ends, the band starts crying.
“Cool” said Nora, a bit panicked.
Next was Ziggy Marley, he and the band were playing reggae music. “Ready?” asked Ziggy before he started to sing.
Nora looks happy now. “Now, we’re talking!” she said. Suddenly the music stops.
“Yo, I’m sorry” Ziggy Marley said. “I can’t go on. My heart is broken” he added.
“Oh, wow, like, that was a lifetime ago, Zigmund.” replied Janice.
“I’m sorry,” he replied before he left.
“What happened?” asked Label Lady.
“In her day, Janice broke a lot of hearts” replied Moog.
“Tweedle-lee-dee” said Animal as he tapped the small drum.
Next was Dead Mouse, he turned on some distorted electronic version of Rockin’ Robin. Nora claps. Janice walks by with a mouse headset that looks like her with mouse ears and no hair.
“Wow. It’s, like, so dark in here.” said the blonde female.
Lips mumbles something. The band had the same headset as Janice but they looked like themselves. “Hello?” asked Janice.
“It's so hot, I’m gonna pass out” said Floyd before he fell on Dead Mouse’s computer setup, stopping the music.
“Really, guys?” asked Dead Mouse as he took off his headset. He sniffs. “Oh, fresh air. Why do I even wear this thing?” he asked.
Floyd Pepper groans while on the floor. “Little help” he said. The red haired male’s back hurts like hell due to a large scar on his back.
“Tweedle-lee-dee” said the drummer as he looked up at Dead Mouse.
Meanwhile, Teeth take off the headset and take some deep breaths of fresh air. His breathing was very heavy, as if he was having a panic attack. He has a flashback to a memory he wishes he could forget.
It was dark and cold, he was in a cage with a huge shock collar on. Teeth looks around and the horror he sees, he can not forget. Wereanimals in cages, some alive, some dead, and some hurt. The smell of blood, dirt, and death filled the air. His breathing was heavy when he heard a voice from the top of his cage.
“Frog, you say that this one is going to be the best for our business. Right?” said the person on top. His voice was deep growl like, and sounded a bit old. He could hear a hiss from them too.
“Yes, he will. As long as his bandmates don’t find out his location” replied Constantine. The doc suddenly snaps out of the flashback when Lips gently grabs the ginger haired male’s shoulder.
“You okay?” asked the blonde male.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Don’t worry, sweetheart” he replied before giving Lips a kiss on the cheek. The trumpet player blushes as he nods his head.
Next, mellow hip hop music was playing. They were rapping. Well, mostly Lips, Zoot, and Animal along with the rapper. Lips was doing a great job at mumble rapping.
“Yes,” said Nora with a big smile on her face.
Later, it was now night. On a stereo, they play the mumble rap from earlier.
“Hey, listen, I don’t think the band is diggin’ any of this” said Moog to the black haired female.
“Really? They seem happy to me” she replied as she looked at the band then at the blacked haired male.
“Hey, guys, are you feeling this?” Nora asked the band.
They agree. “We did it!” replied Floyd as he raised his hand.
“See? Happy” the black haired female said to Moog.
“Yeah, they’re always happy. Here watch” replied Moog as he grabbed a fork.
“Hey guys, look. I got a fork” he said as he showed the band the fork.
They all cheer. “You did it!” replied Floyd Pepper as he raised his hand again.
“See? If you look past their blind enthusiasm, you can tell that they’re just like, “what?” said the black haired male to the Label Lady.
“Let’s be honest. This isn’t their opinion, it’s yours” she replied.
“No,” he replied. “Look, Janice agrees. She’s staging a walkout” Moog said as he pointed at the blonde female.
“No, I’m just meeting a friend for yoga” Janice replied as she held her yoga mat in her arms. “But I love how mumbly we sound,” she added before leaving.
“Look, I get that you know everything about the band, but I know this business. This rap song is the best thing for them” said Nora.
“But this isn’t even their sound…” he started to say.
“Hey, I appreciate the input, but this is my call.” the black haired female cut him off.
“Okay. So, if you really wanna help me, hook me up with a copy to play for Penny.” she added.
“Got it?” Label Lady asked.
“Got it,” replied Moog. Suddenly Zoot took a picture of Moog. “Got it” the dark blue haired male said. The mayhem fan blinks his eyes from the flash.
Meanwhile upstairs, Lewis was in his room. The ginger haired boy was reading his book as his little sister slept. There was a knock on the door. “Come in,” said Lewis. His father walked in.
“Hey, what are you doing?” he asked as he sat next to his son.
“Reading my book. I’m glad that daddy got me this book to read on the road.” replied his son with a smile.
“Good, good.” replied Teeth with a smile. He took a deep breath before speaking.
“Lewis, I know that I haven’t spent a lot of time with you and Annie. You know due to the tour, band, making the album, and more.” he said.
“Yeah, I know that you have little time with us at times but you always make it up, dad. You, papa, and daddy try your best to give us everything we want, all the love, and time for us.” replied Lewis.
“You know what, how about tomorrow or later in this week, we could spin the day as a family?” asked the doc.
“Yeah, I like that plan” replied the ginger haired boy.
“Good” replied Teeth as he kissed his son’s forehead and got up. He got up and left the room. Lewis smiles before returning to his Jurassic Park book.

Grace Beverly Jones (born 19 May 1948??) is a model, singer and actress. Born in Jamaica, she and her family moved to Syracuse, New York, when she was a teenager. Jones began her modeling career in New York state, then in Paris, working for fashion houses such as Yves St. Laurent and Kenzo, and appearing on the covers of Elle and Vogue. She notably worked with photographers such as Jean-Paul Goude, Helmut Newton, Guy Bourdin, and Hans Feurer, and became known for her distinctive androgynous appearance and bold features.
Her grandfather, John Williams, was also a musician and played with Nat King Cole. Her father, Bishop Robert Winston Jones, moved the family to CNY and founded the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Syracuse. Jones' brother is megachurch preacher Bishop Noel Jones, who starred on the 2013 reality show Preachers of LA.
Through her relationship with longtime collaborator Jean-Paul Goude, Jones has one son, Paulo. From Paulo, Jones has one granddaughter.
Jones attended Central High School in Syracuse. She claims she doesn't know how old she is. Although some sources say she was born in 1948, Jones says she graduated early from Central High School in Syracuse in 1967; she was around 15 years old, ahead of most of her peers due to more rigorous education at an early age in Jamaica. She also studied theater at Onondaga Community College.
Beginning in 1977, Jones embarked on a music career, securing a record deal with Island Records and initially becoming a high-profile figure of New York City's Studio 54-centered disco scene. In the early 1980s, she moved toward a new wave style that drew on reggae, funk, post-punk, and pop music, frequently collaborating with both the graphic designer Jean-Paul Goude and the musical duo Sly & Robbie. She scored Top 40 entries on the UK Singles Chart with "Private Life", "Pull Up to the Bumper", "I've Seen That Face Before", and "Slave to the Rhythm". In 1982, she released the music video collection A One Man Show, directed by Goude, which earned her a nomination for Best Video Album at the 26th Annual Grammy Awards. Her most popular albums include Warm Leatherette (1980), Nightclubbing (1981), and Slave to the Rhythm (1985).
As an actress, Jones appeared in several indie films prior to landing her first mainstream appearance as Zula in the fantasy-action film Conan the Destroyer (1984) alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sarah Douglas, and subsequently appeared in the James Bond movie A View to a Kill (1985) as May Day, and starred as a vampire in Vamp (1986); all of which earned her nominations for the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress. In 1992, Jones acted in the Eddie Murphy film Boomerang, and contributed to the soundtrack. She also appeared alongside Tim Curry in the 2001 film Wolf Girl.
Jones has been cited as an inspiration for multiple artists, including Annie Lennox, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Solange, Lorde, Róisín Murphy, Brazilian Girls, Nile Rodgers, Santigold, and Basement Jaxx. In 2016, Billboard ranked her as the 40th greatest dance club artist of all time.

Anything Janelle Monae makes me feel like I have to pick a favorite child. Clap if you think Janelle Monae should be seen as a cultural treasure!!! LMAO ok here it goes:
Q.U.E.E.N- This is like THE contemporary "feminist, underdogs of the world unite!" anthem that had me in a chokehold after it came out. I played this shit on a loop on my way to school my first semester of college. The video also melted my fucking brain with delight at its aesthetics.
Look Into My Eyes- I'm a sucker for anything evocative of like 1960's orchestral pop classics the likes of Shirley Bassey and James Barry arrangements. They do it here like a fucking pro, their voice sounds as clear and pretty as a bell *longing sigh*
Ghetto Woman- this sounds like it came straight off a fucking Stevie Wonder album from the 80s, specifically the album In Square Circle's I Love You Too Much (other people say it reminds them musically of Boogie On Reggae Woman and I'm here to tell you, wrong Stevie song!!) with a touch of Earth, Wind, and Fire brass. Those like crazy rolling and oscillating synth AND guitar licks are fucking magnificent. Even now, Janelle's like very powerful and potent love of music, of their predecessors and influences astounds me. They have a completely original and signature capacity to evoke their influences while keeping their own flavor, style, and voice.
Basically every song on this, even the interludes are genius, so picking ANY 3 would be fine. I think Janelle should be seen as a living legend and a genius in so many respects because how do you consistently churn out concept album after concept album (which a lot of artists fear doing because its risky!!) without a single one being a flop like I'm soooo serious.
Thank you my friend!!! 🥰😙

Listed: Glassine
Tumblr media
Glassine is the musical moniker of Baltimore-based producer Danny Greenwald. Greenwald’s most widely known release to date is probably 2015’s No Stairway, an album crafted out of field recordings taken inside the retail chain Guitar Center. His most recent release is Radial,a collaboration with Horse Lords drummer Sam Haberman, reviewed in last month’s Dust. Tim Clarke wrote that Radial “veers between malfunctioning electronica (“Up, Together, Reach”), throbbing ambient drone (“St. Pete”), clattering percussive workouts (“Brushes in Woodstock”), and what could almost pass as vaporwave (“Behind a Seatbelt”).” For Greenwald’s contribution to Listed, he chose 10 things that have inspired him other than Nirvana.
Pink Floyd — “Bike”
youtube
I used to hang out with this guy in high school who ate a lot of acid. Now he is a Hasidic Jew. We were close. He made high-quality iron-on decals with a fancy printer he had sent to a church across the street because he bought it with a stolen credit card. He made a t-shirt that said on the front, “I’ve got a mouse and it hasn’t got a house, I don’t know why I call him Gerald.” And on the back, it said, “he’s getting rather old but he’s a good mouse.” When I first heard the song “Bike” I thought it was the stupidest thing I had ever heard. It’s obviously brilliant and I was a dumb kid and Syd Barrett is my favorite guitarist. Watch him shred.
Jason Urick — Husbands
Husbands by Jason Urick
The first show I ever enjoyed that only used a laptop was Jason Urick performing in some warehouse in Baltimore. I would go see him play in various other venues with unclean floors, but I’d usually lie on my back toward the front. Everyone would stand kind of far back from Jason and his laptop in the way you’re probably picturing, but I would lie down. His seamless textural transitions are a guiding light. I listened to Husbands on headphones 1,000,000 times lying on my back. In bed, usually.
The Microphones — Mount Eerie
youtube
youtube
When I first heard this album, it blew my mind. I knew all of Phil Elverum’s previous albums, but this was on some whole other trip. It’s my favorite Microphones record. Me and my friend Brian would listen to it in its entirety in his driveway in his small Toyota Yaris in Pikesville, Maryland, at like 3am. I LOVE the line that goes, “you’re soccer balls on knees.”
“I know you’re out there, You’re lanterns on lakes / I know you’re out there, You’re soccer balls on knees... through your skirt I see... your legs gracefully / I know you’re out there, you’re swaying and pleased / I know you’re out there, you’re vultures in trees / I know you’re out there In mountainous peaks.”
Cass McCombs — “AIDS in Africa”
youtube
This song taught me an incredible lesson about the usage of metaphor and allusion in songs. Listen to the entire song — then do some research — then think about the line, “Survivor cells are chanting ‘Ali, Bomaye.’” I used to write a lot of words; however the lesson has very much crossed over into how I go about textural arrangements, field recordings, samples, and what have you.
My mom, Donna Greenwald
Outlook, “Anthem Annie”
My mom sang the National Anthem at every Major League Baseball stadium. I’m not a big fan of the song, however I was able to travel across the country on a train because she was able to wrangle corporate sponsorships in the ’90s for her “National Anthem Tour.” Only an amazing lady could pull off something like that. Self-PR in the days of phone books and small-town newspapers. Learn more about Donna Greenwald by listening to this podcast episode I made about her.
Horace Andy — Dance Hall Style
youtube
Once when I was 15 or so I walked into The Sound Garden, a record store in Baltimore, and asked what I should listen to. The person walked (almost urgently) to the reggae section in the back of the store and handed me Dance Hall Style on CD. Horace Andy looks so cool on the cover. Also, I intrinsically had a lot of trust in the person who helped me because he also looked very cool. Lyrically, the album is very heady. And his voice is so expressive. The production sounds like outer space in the mind of an extremely sensitive man.
MF DOOM and all of his monikers/collaborations
youtube
Daniel Dumile was the cleverest person to walk the earth. He was an insanely talented and underappreciated producer. He was an immense talent and the world is less enjoyable without him. He felt like the most distant stranger that I kind of knew from someplace. He helped me get through some really difficult times.
Own his own throne, the boss like King Koopa On the microphone he flossed the ring (“Super!”) Average emcees is like a TV blooper MF DOOM, he’s like D.B. Cooper
Grateful Dead — Dark Star, Rotterdam Civic Hall, Rotterdam, Netherlands 5-11-72
youtube
I grew up on the Dead. Here is a 48-minute version of one of my favorite songs. I don’t have anything more to say about it.
“Shall we go, you and I, while we can through the transitive nightfall of diamonds?”
Panda Bear — Person PItch
youtube
Also a great non-album track recorded at The Ottobar in 2007
youtube
Person Pitch was a game changer for me. I was already into atmospheric and druggy music that sounded like waterbeds, but this record utilized discernible samples, like skateboards and infants crying. Panda Bear turned all his samples into clay and treated them like weather patterns. I saw him perform at The Ottobar when the album came out. He used two SP303s (which were actually used to record the entire album) and a small mixer on stage with a very organized row of SmartMedia cards. Here is the tour poster hanging in my studio. I colored parts of it because I was working at a summer camp and had unfettered access to an array of markers. Also, I love his voice and Person Pitch is a play on Pet Sounds. That’s cool. Also, WZT Hearts opened and Jason Urick was in that band.
CELESTIAL WHITE NOISE | Sleep Better, Reduce Stress, Calm Your Mind, Improve Focus | 10 Hour Ambient
youtube
I fall asleep to this every night.
Björk — Unravel
youtube
This is one of my favorite songs. Everything about it. Heartbreaking. The End.
While you are away My heart comes undone Slowly unravels In a ball of yarn
The devil collects it With a grin Our love In a ball of yarn
He’ll never return it So, when you come back We’ll have to make new love

So many of my coworkers are just… weird, and N also confirmed it yesterday. (To clarify, I think all the back-of-the-house production workers are pretty normal, but we don’t talk much, due to them mostly speaking in Spanish and me being quiet.) Does everyone have weird coworkers, or does my job just attract people like that? I think my job just attracts them somehow.
My coworkers who actually still work with me/who I see regularly are….
My manager (T)
a middleaged Black lady
only listens to reggae music, as far as I can tell (she controls the music station at work)
the one who listens to the apocalypse podcast and believes everyone should be stocking up on toilet paper and learning how to raise their own chickens because of the cost of eggs these days
extremely anti-vax 😬😬😬
very nitpicky and I thought she hated me for the whole time I worked with her (later, my GM said “She doesn’t hate you!!” and then R was like “Oh, she (T) hates everyone”)
something is always wrong, or someone always did something wrong, and she Will Complain about it Five Times Or More
has some weird grudge against one of the production workers and both of them refuse to be an adult about it
My GM
seems pretty normal and seems to have a normal family
thinks it’s “sad” that I don’t drink
a #girlboss
tiny dynamic blond lady
speaks in short sentences (“Nice!”, “All right”, “Do it like this next time”, “Remember to do thing”, etc)
very fast walker?? No one can ever find her immediately
laughs at videos of people getting hurt (i.e. thrown off of amusement park rides, things like that)
I noticed she asks questions about people and gave her permission to also ask me questions about my life (but said that I wouldn’t just tell her things if she didn’t ask)
doesn’t speak Spanish other than “Hasta la vista, baby!” from… whatever movie that’s from. IDK I don’t watch movies
asked matter-of-fact if I “always liked girls” after I told her I had a partner; doesn’t understand the ‘they pronoun’ thing at all but she definitely has the gay-allyship spirit and isn’t weird about [me being queer] 🌈
H
drinks coffee every day for breakfast
literally no one else likes her husband because he’s not considerate of her (I don’t know the situation and it’s not my business to ask, but I’m like, sad and frustrated for her but I’m not close enough with her to ask)
genuinely likes working out and going to church
told me the other day, after learning that I’m engaged, that she and her husband didn’t live together until they were married “because my church says you should” and I was like …..okay then. 🚫 Literally did not ask.
C
this old, energetic, grandma-type woman
my first interaction with her was when my old glasses screw fell out in the bathroom, and she tried to help me find it 🥺🥺🥺
very sweet and talks to everyone (including the production workers, in Spanish!)
worked with one of the production workers for 11 years, counting the current job! And they talk in Spanish a lot at work
definitely weird somehow
she’s kind of befriended me (!!) (but we haven’t talked outside of work yet)
R
very private person and seems very busy and introverted (and has a second job), but he always smiles and asks how everyone’s day is going
I was worried I was weird towards him at first, but we’re cool at work (and I don’t want to invade his space)
I accidentally stole his work polos and eventually told him about it, and he was like “Oh, no way, that was you?!” and just got me more shirts that are actually my size lol
somehow knows that I’m queer….? The way he talks about it briefly makes me feel like I’ve had some conversation with him about it at some point, but damn if we have any idea what we said or what he knows 🤔 (and we don’t work with him closely enough or talk to him alone long enough to say “Hey dude, my memory is literally always bad, so it sounds crazy, but: what do you know about me being queer?”)
Reblog with your weird coworker vibes if you like? I just needed to put this somewhere

Been forgetting to share this here. Unfortunately, Shelter has now closed and this will be go down as the last event we got to throw there. Thanks for the memories. You’ll be remembered as one of the most badass venues in Nagoya for your true punk rock DIY spirit. Now, enjoy the read if you have time. It’s that time of year. The leaves have fallen and the spirits have risen. We all look forward to that special part of the year when the dead may walk, and this year a very special tradition of Nagoya live music has been reanimated… HallowFest!
Due to the global pandemic, HallowFest has been dormant since it last took place in 2019. That particular edition featured the likes of TROYL, Ghost of Matsubara, Bend’s, Sugar Riser, and Mosaic. Originally intended as a fun Halloween-themed local show, it became dedicated to the headliner TROYL’s beloved bassist, Isamu, who had recently passed away. It remains one of the most packed and festive nights that Shelter Rock Bar has ever seen.
With COVID restrictions easing in 2022, Small World and Shelter felt it was time to bring the event back along with the original co-organizer Tom Fallon’s blessing. Joshidai is a notorious nexus of Nagoya’s nightlife where Shelter stands as one of very few rock bars. Though in a rock setting, HallowFest aims to showcase a variety of Nagoya’s finest local acts.
On this evening, the schedule was divided into two sections: three solo artists and three bands. With the solo artists playing first, the acts of this night showed us a range of heart-felt, comedic, and experimental tunes that Nagoya has to offer. Opening the show was Hiroki who welcomed the crowd with original acoustic songs draped over by his unique song-writing and signature voice.
Next was May Chu Chu, a comedy legend whose Small World debut was long overdue. Known by some as “Aimee Clark” or “that British lady who’s always on stage somewhere”, she had the house dying of laughter with her staple parody songs that cleverly present observations anyone living in Japan can relate to. May Chu Chu always delivers, not just in terms of funny songwriting, but she also proves her worth as a strong vocalist.
Rounding out the solo acts was S. Shah. Many might know Steven Shah as the guitarist and singer of the local psychedelic stoner rock band, Blasting Rod. Though he wasn’t with his full band tonight, he was armed with a special pedal board and Orange amp that filled the house with a wall of sound that took us on an abstract journey into our next section of the night.
To start off our chapter of live bands was Lostnote. Lostnote are a group of Filipino rock guys living in Aichi who have found a home at bars like Shelter doing what they love most, playing music. These pinoys had everyone smiling and grooving to reggae tunes for the first half of their set, until they kicked it up into sixth gear with some 90s rock covers. A moshpit even erupted as the crowd couldn’t hold back for “Enter Sandman”.
Following Lostnote was the sensational pop/R&B/soul group Cheapwine Squad who surprised everyone by showing up dressed as six different versions of Spider-Man. If you can recognize the different Spider suits, kudos to you. You’re a true nerd. They blew the roof off with a wide range of recognizable, fun covers as well as their new original tracks like “Do You Want a Good Time”.
Of course Shelter was most packed with the headliner Crocodile Bambie. Their sound can be described as progressive doom metal with dirty stoner rock riffs. They are one of the most legendary bands of the local Nagoya metal scene and they don’t play often. Singer and bassist Yoshi Yasui was just portrayed by actor Yuma Kato in a film across theaters called “鋼音色の空の彼方へ“, centered around the history of his other band Outrage. Some fans came as far as Yokohama and the band did not disappoint. Even though they played one man short of their usual four-piece, they delivered with their groovy licks, their classic fuzzy guitar tone, and their ever-precise musicianship. They proved this night as they do every other night why they are kings of the city.
The real winners of the night, though, were the audience who got to drink loads while meeting and mingling with one another and enjoying Shelter’s signature Brazilian cuisine. There were Japanese fans of live music along with an equal number of foreigners from all around the world there for a good time. Who do you want to see at HallowFest next year?

Feuertal Festival 2024
Nadine and I were glad to be part of this year's Feuertal Festival in Wuppertal again! For me, it was the seventh Feuertal experience and the second time as a photographer. Nadine aka Livehörnchen wrote quite a bunch of lines in German again about her very first festival in Wuppertal on August, 24th:
Tumblr media
Mr. Hurley & Die Pulveraffen

End of Green

Top 5 Yoga Studios in Melbourne City
Whether you're into sweaty Vinyasa Flow or calming Yin, there is a studio in
Melbourne city for every yoga type. So, check out our list of the best yoga studio Melbourne City town and prepare to sweat, stretch and relax.
Exposed brick walls, repurposed timber benches and blonde timber dowel detailing set the scene at this cosy studio. Its calming vibes and classes that combine yoga with dynamic fitness are the drawcards.
Clifton Hill Yoga Studio
Like the Lentil As Anything of the Melbourne yoga scene, this pay-what-you-feel studio has stayed in business for a while and offers a wide range of classes from beginner to advanced. Their unique ballet-style approach combines barre conditioning with yoga and pilates to create longer, leaner muscles.
Mother and daughter duo Susan and Clare have three light-filled studios, in Balwyn, Mitcham and Ivanhoe. Each space enchants with white bamboo floors and wallpaper mural features, and the class options are a mix of brisk flow and slower yin and restorative poses.
John is a certified Iyengar yoga teacher who has taught a broad range of students, including Richmond and St Kilda footballers, professional rugby players and ballet dancers. His Carlton South studio comfortably seats 15 and is well heated, cooled and naturally lit.
Kaya Health Clubs
KAYA, Melbourne’s first Mind and Body Health Clubs, specialises in Reformer Pilates,
Authentic Yoga and Fitness classes. With two locations in Prahran and within Emporium Melbourne, members have unlimited access to studios, a dedicated cardio and weight zone and personal trainers.
It’s less like a gym, and more like a day spa, with the scent of fresh flowers and calming essential oils filling the space. The clientele is mostly female, so dudes who want to grunt loudly as they pump iron should probably head elsewhere. A single membership gets you unlimited classes at both studios plus a swish haircut from the team at Lady Marmalade Hairdressing.
Kula Yoga
Traditionally yoga has been a group practice. It was a way for practitioners to get their alignment and postures corrected by peers. This tradition continues at Kula Yoga. The studio is a gathering place for community members and offers classes for all levels and bodies.
Humming Puppy’s mellow, coffee-blushed studio is like a home away from home. The Prahran-based studio offers a variety of classes, from yin to hot yoga to barre conditioning. The yin is gentle and restorative while the hot yoga is more dynamic. Students of all levels are welcome, though a familiarity with basic moves is recommended. Beginners should start with basics classes before progressing to Kula flow.
Gertrude Street Yoga
Both a yoga studio north Melbourne and holistic centre, this Gertrude Street mainstay has the goods to get your body in tip-top shape. Set inside one of the strip’s heritage buildings, this place screams out classy with a pair of lofty, light-bathed warehouse studios. A hefty team of instructors means there’s a class for everyone, from brisk vinyasa flow to chill-out yin sessions.
Take your practice to fun new territory at Melbourne’s home of hip hop yoga. Here, reggae and folk music replaces the usual silence for energising beats and uplifting sessions. The space is also home to two awe-inspiring murals of Biggie Smalls. This is definitely a must-visit.
The Light Practice
At this South Yarra hot yoga studio, you can choose from power or slow flow classes that are heated to two balmy temperatures. The classes are designed to stretch and strengthen muscles while reducing stress and detoxifying the body.
Harrison Interiors designed this cavernous space to awaken the senses and cultivate a sense of grounded-ness. Interlaced steel arcs and black and clear reeded glass accentuate the existing factory trusses, and light-filled nooks activate the senses.
This Melbourne yoga studio offers a unique twist on traditional meditation practices. In addition to traditional vinyasa-style yoga, The Light Practice runs sound journey classes that use the vibration of gongs to re-align the nervous system and promote healing.
One Hot Yoga
The brainchild of yogi Lucinda Mills and architect Rob Mills, One Hot Yoga is bringing meaning to movement with their contemporary studio spaces in Melbourne and Sydney. The slick spaces feature recycled materials, an advanced heating system and signature scents to help you feel your best during class.
The studio uses hydronics to heat their practice space, which reduces energy use and helps keep the rooms cleaner a lot longer than traditional steam-powered systems. This is great news for people with sensitive lungs and eyes!
Their classes range from 27 degrees to 37 degrees and include everything from sculpting the body, to yin and meditation-focused sessions. After class, enjoy a healthy snack in their integrated cafe.

Adventure in Providence
July 13, 2024
I pulled up to Amari’s house at like 7 after a full day of band camp. I was freshly showered with lotion and perfume and my hair braided bc I had spent all day spinning flag in the hot summer sun and I wanted to be fresh for pookie.
Anyways, we did makeup together and I helped them pick out their outfit.
I drove us to providence despite saying I hated driving in providence lol. The urban planning is awful and the directions don’t tell you anything until the last minute. We listened to emo bangers half of the way there even though we were going to the club for what I thought was going to be reggaeton night… but after I said I was more in a headbanging mood than a shaking ass mood and was wishing I was going to emo night instead, amari put on some of their 2010s club hits.
I ended up getting really stressed when I was driving and when we finally got there I had to parallel park on my left when I’ve only ever done it on the left,,, all while “Get low” was playing. I got so annoyed I turned it off after three attempts and asked amari to do it, which they literally ate up on the first try… they slayed.
We ended up pulling up to the club, where we got in for free just bc we’re “ladies” lol. That shit was dead as hell, it literally had five people and it was REGGAE night, not reggaeton… no ass shaking to be had. We still danced together, their hands on my hips . We stayed until I started to feel a little too awkward and we went to go to another club (edited) and guess what. We didn’t know it until we got there but it was fucking EMO NIGHT at this other club. You could hear everyone singing Ocean Avenue from outside the building. I was so fucking hype because I had JUST said I wanted to take amari to emo night… plus I packed my docs just in case. We were there until I heard you had to have cash to get in which I didn’t, and amari left their wallet at home. So we left to set out for an ATM and ended up getting distracted bc there was a dock by the river that we saw and wanted to explore….
So we sat by the river and talked and kissed and snuggled and laughed with the city lights reflecting off the water I decided I was hungry and looked up places for us to go and ended up finding this little slider place that had fried Oreos!!!
So we ended up going there and it was nothing like we expected it to be. It was a cool place with nice service and they were playing really good music, like nirvana, red hot chili peppers, santana. All bangers I got a buffalo chicken wrap and some tater tot’s and fried Oreos for us to share :)
I had my Apple Pay open and they were like “no im paying” even though they didn’t get anything for themselves and I refused and went to pay but they didn’t have tap, so they ended up paying anyways (I sneakily sent them the money on cashapp after)

That shit was fire And they had a huge connect four (We played like 4 times and they kicked my ass. Every time.) Oh my god the food was so good
We were so full half way through but we pushed through.. we fucked those Oreos up!!! Mhm mhm
After I wanted to go to a park across the water I saw when we were sitting on the dock So we walked through the streets of providence Amari was nervous being in the city so late, esp since they left their knife at home (hot), so I held their hand while we walked And we just explored the city and came across a bunch of cool art and bridges and architecture and took pictures together Amari ate as photographer btw

And I forced them to get their picture taken bc they “don’t take pictures” and have a hard time believing they’re gorgeous when they so are!

We kept finding a bunch of nice places to sit and chat by the water and it wasn’t how I planned the night but I had so much fun just roaming the city with them We decided at 1 it was getting late and I had a bottle of wine I brought that I wanted to get to and they offered to drive home which stressed me out but I was tired and they weren’t so it was better for them to drive
They missed a bunch of exits which made ME feel better because I also missed a bunch of exits lol… providence is just annoying to drive in I played my emo playlist and we chatted and belted along But yeah Long story short I had a perfect night of exploring the city and adventuring with my lover, even if it wasn’t the night I had planned to have
