Breaking the Chains: Overcoming Economic Sanctions in the Black Sea and Eastern Europe by Eastern European Institute for Trade
Tumblr media
by Eastern European Institute for Trade
Amidst the tumultuous political landscape of Eastern Europe and the Black Sea region, economic sanctions have become an increasingly prevalent tool employed by nations to exert pressure and achieve strategic objectives. Consequently, countries in the region grapple with the challenge of overcoming such sanctions to maintain economic resilience and development. This article will delve into the various mechanisms that states can utilize to mitigate the impact of economic sanctions, while simultaneously fostering an environment conducive to sustainable growth (Adams, 2017; Baranova, 2019).
Economic sanctions often hinder trade and investment, with a particularly pronounced impact on energy, finance, and technology sectors (Fry, 2020). To counterbalance these detrimental effects, countries should prioritize economic diversification, thereby reducing overreliance on vulnerable industries. Promoting domestic entrepreneurship and investing in research and development can facilitate the emergence of new, competitive sectors, thereby enhancing economic resilience (Chen, 2018).
Moreover, exploring alternative trade partners and forging robust economic alliances can help circumvent the constraints imposed by sanctions. Nations such as Turkey and China have emerged as key actors in the Eastern European and Black Sea region, providing opportunities for trade and investment partnerships that can bolster economic growth (Baranova, 2019; Fry, 2020). By expanding their diplomatic horizons, countries in the region can navigate geopolitical complexities and maintain a degree of economic stability.
Digitalization and technological innovation also offer pathways to overcoming economic sanctions. The adoption of blockchain technology, for instance, can enable secure and transparent transactions, potentially mitigating the impact of financial restrictions (Chen, 2018). Additionally, fostering digital economies and embracing e-commerce can help offset the disruption of traditional trade channels, allowing countries to circumvent some of the negative consequences of sanctions (Adams, 2017).
Lastly, bolstering regional cooperation and coordination can be instrumental in mitigating the repercussions of economic sanctions. By working collaboratively, nations in the Eastern European and Black Sea region can develop shared strategies and leverage their collective strengths to overcome the obstacles posed by sanctions (Baranova, 2019). Such cooperative efforts may include the establishment of regional trade blocs or the development of joint infrastructure projects that enhance connectivity and integration.
In summation, the challenge of overcoming economic sanctions in the Eastern European and Black Sea region demands a multifaceted, proactive approach. By embracing economic diversification, forging new partnerships, leveraging technology, and enhancing regional cooperation, countries can break the chains of sanctions and pave the way for sustained economic growth.

i still am not bought with the idea that magic should be restricted to a certain group. Will i change my mind?
Maybe I'm too much of a "third world country" to be fond of the idea. If it was something truly got to be born with, you have to accept. But knowing everyone could? Well, that's tough. I understand how Coustas felt when tartar and coco were talking about future. It sucks knowing some people have their future guaranteed and you got fight to survive. It's not fair. I know there's a lot of context to why it's limited to a group, but still not fair. Knowledge shouldn't be limited, it's a right of all.

also why I simultaneously understand 'you need to eat vegetables' as an objective statement about our body's need for food-based vitamins, fiber, etc./appreciate the tips that one post includes for incorporating them into your diet if you struggle with the taste/texture AND resent that post for its condescending 'gentle' opening and for this site's/mainstream society's open derision and contempt for people who literally cannot consume them anyway. yeah fucking obviously vegetables are good for you. but food restrictions are real too. sorry that disabilities are disabling.

hello! if you haven't seen the news on twitter, i'm opening a shop over break soon and am also open to suggestions for adding more prints to the roster as preorders, but will definitely be focusing on clearing out my current stock first from the previous con. i do want to make dunmeshi, ff7, and crisis core illustrations though...
been meaning to find the time to do it for awhile now, especially when i promised several that i'll give them prints they've been asking for (i'm sorry to the funger fans in particular). if enough people demand prints of a specific illustration, i'll consider listing it as well!

you are so fucking cool to me.!!!! (Posted after the thing u said about literary fiction.) Yeah. Honestly i think the troubled #real character epidemic has just circled back and made up a new cookie cutter pattern for all of these unworked protagonists to fit into and in that way it's just as lame as making them unrealisticalyl doted and perfect because at the end of the day both of those things exist because that's what people wanted to see and channel into at the time. haterismmmmms. I felt this way about well i won't say actually
hiii yes absolutely!! i am tired of the whole 'messy' character thing...particularly 'messy' female characters that just means they are described as 'plain' but are actually just brunette and described as 'unhinged' which actually just means they masturbate sometimes and like a lie in. but in general i think more and more the 'flawed' characters in litfic are failing to be made any more real by their flaws despite the authors efforts...it feels a lot like they dont quite realise how their own characters are likely to be percieved by the reader. so they remain unconvincing but also often just slightly more unpleasant...and despite allegedly being messy and complicated they all communicate (when they communicate) in the most perfect therapy speak and by therapy speak i mean whatever twitter armchair psychologists happen to be peddling. they are all also very smart and artsy and desirable even when theyre not meant to be beautiful. these books feel like wandering around a sleek white car dealership with floor to ceiling windows their attempts 2 make their characters troubled and real are so half-assed and contrived that they end up becoming even more like caricatures. DYING to hear what book you felt that way about...this blog is always a safe space for haters + their hate especially when it comes 2 books..

Allergy discussion below the cut.
I'm so. Frustrated. Upset. So I called the allergist back to ask my few extra questions. I asked if I needed to avoid things that are made on shared equipment/in a facility that processes/may come into contact with egg, and the nurse said "yeah he says avoid all of it. If you have some contact accidentally, and you find out later, you know, if you have a reaction you know to avoid that." (Paraphrased). So I explained that, I have no idea what my reaction is, and we are assuming it's a GI reaction, which makes it harder to know because I have other GI problems. And she was just like "well if you have a reaction, you'll know you need to avoid that stuff." Like???? Are you listening to me???? I'm so frustrated and so upset. This is going to limit what I can buy even further, and I don't have the energy to cook all my own food from scratch, at the very least not until/if we can medicate my executive functioning again. I'm just so tired and sick of all this health bullshit. I already have so many food issues and stuff and now this and I'm just so tired. So fucking tired.

Partner E is sick (not Covid), so we’ve spent the past three days playing the social distancing game. I have thus been a) in my room, b) on the porch, or c) at work, and I already feel like I’m about to start chewing the dry wall. I am gaining a new understanding of why my mental state was Like That during the height of the pandemic.

Can only picture San gaming with them but on a PC, like tower and monitor and all and gets made fun of for it so much. However, using a computer rather than being one does make it easy for him to get up and stretch. And by extension, force everyone else (Deimos) to stretch too. He absolutely makes a comment about it too
Also, kind of curious. When it comes to the player's character in VR in DS, does it matter on the person's perspective? Like does the model change depending on how the person sees/remembers themself or is there something pre-made they're just plopped into? Or does it change depending on the game?
Sanford has 0 rig envy. He’s seen way too many of the negatives with his job, let alone the mess that is Deimos. He’s fine. No thanks. Grandpa gaming for Sanford. Doesn’t even go for a headset like Doc has ‘cause it makes him nauseous, and he likes being on his A game. The designated driver of group gaming.
At some point in the past Victor showed Sanford how to stick a magnifying glass to the monitor to get pixel perfect headshots, but he only does it if someone (Deimos) makes a comment about his lack of a rig. Only Doc knows he does this, while the other two are wholly in VR and can’t defend themselves from practical cheating.
As far as VR bodies go, I imagine it sort of depends on the game/software, sort of depends on person, sort of depends on the rig. Like, I imagine one would probably have a certain amount of biometrics stored, so things like height and length of arms might be something you would set up in the machine so virtual worlds can figure out the placement of your body and viewpoint, and its all easily fetched from one place (hence games containing the data of other people’s hardware. If you want to be stealth, there’s probably an option for default settings but then you’d need to have your brain understand the new size of your body so you move the right ways)
Theoretically you could fudge that data for catfishing/ego/shitpost/cheating purposes. Deimos definitely fudges that data. (And thus has become accustomed to “being in” weird sized bodies, and has his rig getting read by whatever he’s playing.)
Appearance-wise, there’s probably options. Rich people probably get their body scanned and rigged up for their avatars for certain stuff, like. VR business meetings. Otherwise it’s likely a lot of commissioned avatars and default stuff and custom-behind-a-paywall and other exploitation. If you gotta pay for showers you definitely have to pay for looking like yourself in VR.
I think racing games would be something where the avatar wouldn’t really matter, an fps has more typical goofball shit, but social or business software may have a sort of “Dress Code” and limits (and spyware).

also look you didn’t hear this for me but barely any libraries require you to present any sort of proof of residency for electronic library cards anymore so if yours sucks you can just spoof the address of one that doesn’t
