I keep seeing articles even in film industry publications discussing Arcane’s reported budget of $250 million for production of 2 seasons + marketing ($80 mil for S1, $100 mil for S2 and the rest for marketing is the breakdown I have seen) as if that’s some absurd number and like. Yes objectively that is a fuckton of money and it’s a bit Budget Georg for a TV show.
But in Hollywood terms that’s a fucking steal??? Like that’s more or less the budget for ONE Marvel movie and they made the equivalent of SIX feature films on that, with gorgeous animation and things that most TV shows don’t have the budget for like extensive original score and songs. That’s nuts actually

We absolutely need more Black voice actors. Tons more. I’d love to see it become a rise in popular professions among Black People — esp Black Women. More Black Women voice acting for cartoon characters, anime characters, Disney characters, etc.

i have this vision in my head of the most GUT wrenching, emotional film
and the protagonists are trying to avoid this horrific tragedy, but desipte their best efforts it happens anyway at the end of the film
and as everything goes to hell, the sound cuts out and ‘Exit Music (For A Film)’ by Radiohead begins to play
and it plays as the world begins to burn around them and just follows out all the way until the credits
and there WOULD be a sequel but you can’t even be excited for the sequel if you’re watching it cos you just feel so shell shocked and hollow from what just happened??
ugh
it is my DREAM FILM and i barely know what else it would be about

(Forgive me for being a dick and blazing a promotional campaign. I know we all come here for motiveless fandom-based shitposts, but I am but a mere independent creator and I must obnoxiously spread my word wherever the blue light shines. 😔)
Hey, folks! My company, Cotton Candy Flavor Media, and I are currently working on our first ever animated film. It’s called “Get Yeast To It”, and it’s a surreal existential dark comedy about a version of the afterlife where humans are judged by cells of yeast based on whether or not they ever ate bread. We’re currently running a crowdfunding campaign for the project so that we can raise the money we need to achieve our yeasty dreams, which is no small feat for indie artists in the midst of this truly shitty time for the animation industry as a whole. If you all could like, share, and donate to the campaign at the link below, it would go a long way in helping us plucky creators succeed— and you could have the opportunity to receive an unpackaged potato in the mail, which I know is really tempting for a lot of you. Thanks, everybody, and let’s get bread-y to rumbleeeeeeee!!
