okay here me out,
One of the gods chooses to reincarnate Nyx, or essentially he's reborn.
Because In a twist of fate the light of Eos starts to die and Bahamuts prophecy starts to sway. A kings sacrifice isn't strong enough to bring back the dawn.. The world needs a hero, one thats use to taking risks and being a bit of a sarcastic butt munch about it.
In the words of one who had fallen "Where do I sign?"
With the gods at his back Nyx returns reborn and ready to fight the food fight for the future once again.
Tumblr media
I'm holding @nemo-in-wonderland responsible for stirring the pot with nyx post, I missed this man so much TmT.
Square Enix needs to bring him back! Or I will! 😭😭

“Did’ja hear? That Quicksilver fella took off with that new tailor from the big city!”🪡🐴💖
Some Wild West Promnis for Yeehawgust 2023, except I didn’t finish it in time for August. I am a sucker for a ‘respected member of the town falls in love with the handsome outlaw’ storyline. 🤩💖

📚 final fantasy, your choice of numerical!
cracks knuckles
Okay let's imagine, for a minute, about Noctis who didn't manage to escape the fire in Tenebrae. Regis lost his grip, Noctis tried to squirm out of his hold to get to Luna, something. And for the next eight years, Noctis is raised as a ward of the Empire alongside Luna and Ravus, with all the gristly details that implies because Niflheim finally has their hands on the crown prince of their hated enemy.
The story starts with Noctis' long awaited return to Insomnia at the hands of Lieutenant Drautos when he's sixteen, eight long, long years after the tragic fire that took Queen Sylvia's life. There's been some paper thin excuse about Noctis staying in the Empire for "goodwill" but everyone knows that he's been a hostage, and the kingdom is ecstatic to have their prince back.
The big reunion between beloved father and son, and it's shattered when Noctis, in a polite, quiet Tenebrae accent, asks, "Do I know you, sir?" (Because that's not what his father looked like. That's not the dad who abandoned him, is it? He's too old, surely--)
The prince that's returned to them is a stranger. Neatly combed back hair, a fondness for Tenebrae white colors, soft spoken lilting accent and impeccable manners that betray nothing of what he thinks. It's only in private, when Ignis and Gladio desperately try to get him to open up and maybe talk to them that Noctis admits that he wants to go home, to his brother and sister. The best he can do is send letters with the Messengers, a small, fluffy black dog that Ignis swears wasn't there yesterday.
We cut between Ravus, Luna, and Noctis as the letters pass hands. Ravus, having been pressured into being in the military at eighteen so he could no longer protect his little siblings, traces over the harsh stroke of the pen in Noct's letters in the privacy of his tiny cabin. Luna scribbling out her loneliness and exhaustion over being the world's youngest Oracle for four years now, saying how much she misses the comforting weight of her little brother following her around during her duties.
The Ravus we find here is harder on the outside, but fiercely protective of Luna and Noctis. His hatred for Regis is even more intense, because how dare that man abandon his own son, yet banked even further down because he cannot afford to let these emotions show when he needs to protect them. It's not just that Luna is his precious little sister -- their mother wasn't done healing Noctis before she perished, and Noctis could only rely on them. Ravus is the only one who knows that the Empire was going to kill the boy, and it was only his quick thinking that convinced General Glauca to spare Noctis as a hostage.
Luna is more tired, more worn down. Not only is she the youngest Oracle with an impossible task, she did everything she possibly could to make sure Noctis traveled with her retinue so she could keep an eye on him and make sure the Empire didn't touch him. And now that he's gone, whisked away back to his "home", she finds herself working even harder just to cope with the loneliness.
Noctis is... well. He copes, as best he can, being a stranger in his own 'home' with chronic pain and no one knowing what really happened. Even his magic is different, leans more towards healing and the like rather than traditional Lucian faire, uses a rapier like his older brother when he goes to spar. Spends time with his dog, with Ignis trying to get him to want to meet with his father, training with Gladio in the ring and trying not to flinch at how big he is (not his fault, he's just. Big like Glauca.), tentatively making friends with Cor's hyperactive blonde kid named Prompto...
It isn't until Gladio sees Captain Drautos 'checking in' on the Prince that things start to change. Drautos now has sway over the Glaives and the Crownsguard, the gratitude of the King Himself, so long as Prince Noctis keeps his mouth shut about what happened while he was being "rescued" from General Glauca. Except Noctis talks back to the Captain now that it's just him, he doesn't have to worry about his siblings getting hurt, just himself really.
Gladio charges, because even if that's a little shit of a guy that's his Prince who's being slapped around. He doesn't have a hope in hell against someone like Titus Drautos, let alone General Glauca, being only eighteen and new to the whole 'shield' thing. Gets his shit wrecked, his eye nearly cut open, and his life held against Noctis to scare them both into keeping Drautos' secret.
Gladio, while he's being patched up on Ignis' bathtub, is adamant that they tell the king and the council, while Noctis pleads that they can't or Glauca will find a way to punish Luna and Ravus. Ignis informs him that it will be happening, because this is no longer just a threat to them but a threat to the whole kingdom.
We cut to the chocobros watching as Prince Ravus and Princess Lunafreya are welcomed into Insomnia, only to have their introductions interrupted by Noctis' excited shout of their names and practically warping over to them to hug them stupid. Drautos is imprisoned now, things are starting to look up for the first time for the Fleuret siblings in ... so, so long.
I think the primary fic would end there, but I'd probably want to have oneshots set after, about the adjusting period, and how things wrap up. Something something the abuse that the kids were subjected to gets to light and has the Empire's citizens up in arms over the treatment of the beloved Oracle, Lucis uses it as a way to force Niflheim into a peace treaty. Another oneshot from the pov of someone who only knows Ravus as a battlefield commander, seeing him turn all soft and doting on Luna and Noctis. Maybe dig into how Noctis and Luna traveled around under the guard of Glauca, how it's just as much threatening as it is teasing the Lucis spies who can't get close enough to set Noctis free...
I think about this au often, if you can't tell,
[Put "📓" or some other version of a book emoji into my inbox and I'll explain the plot of a fanfiction that I haven't written but daydream about.]

_____
Collapsed building / Equipment failure / "I never knew daylight could be so violent."
Noctis was so bored out of his mind, he nearly fell asleep during the meeting. However, he forced himself awake by shaking his head when he nearly fell asleep, blinking his eyes.
The man and Ignis were still droning on and on about this politic and that, and while Noctis knew he had his duty as a king, he still couldn't help but feel bored. However, after everything that had happened ten years ago, he felt he should do his duty instead of messing around like he used to.
Occasionally, Noctis piped up to suggest some ideas, but beside that, he let Ignis do most of the talking. He wasn't used to these types of things. He was glad that Ignis, Gladio, and his husband, Prompto, were there to help him if needed.
He felt Prompto squeeze his hand slightly, and Noctis jerked awake again, blinking his eyes before turning to his beloved. Prompto smiled, before whispering, "Still sleepy after all these years?"
"Yeah…" Noctis yawned with a shrug, "I'm doing what I can to do what I need to do, but ugh… even now, meetings are so boring."
"Sometimes you have to do what you need to do," Prompto pointed out, "You're doing great, Noct."
Noctis quirked a smile at this. Prompto, for years, had been so supportive of the king, and he was lucky to marry someone like him. The two had been close for years, and their love for each other grew ever since the sun returned.
Ignis and the man appeared to have made an agreement, and they shook hands. Noctis sighed internally. Finally. The meeting was finally over—
BOOM
The building shook then, and Gladio, Ignis, and the man nearly fell on the ground. Noctis and Prompto jumped from their seats as they try to steady themselves from the sudden earthquake. Noctis' ears rang as his heart pounded in his chest. What was that? An earthquake? But there was no newscast regarding natural disasters. What was going on?
"Someone blew a bomb in the building!" All five of them heard a voice scream from a distance, "Evacuate! The building is going to collapse!"
The man bolted for the door and disappeared, never to be seen again. Gladio immediately took Ignis' hand and yelled out to the other two, "C'mon!"
Noctis and Prompto didn't need to be told twice. Grabbing each other's hands, they followed Gladio and Ignis out of the room, as the ceiling began to collapse above them. Noctis could hear screaming around him as people fled the scene; at the corner of his eye he could see a small fire engulfing a nearby staircase.
"Keep running!" Gladio yelled, and Noctis realized that he and Ignis were further ahead. Noctis hurried faster with Prompto not far behind him.
The black haired man coughed as smoke entered his lungs, and he felt small bits of debris falling on his head. Prompto was also coughing from the smoke, but the two continued to run towards the emergency exit. Gladio and Ignis were already there, waving at the two to hurry, that the building would collapse any minute.
Just a little more. Then we're—
He heard a gasp of surprise behind him, and he felt Prompto's hand slip from Noctis'. Noctis turned and realized that his beloved tripped on a piece of debris.
"Prom!" Noctis cried, running back to help his husband up, despite Gladio and Ignis yelling out to keep running. He was not going to leave Prompto behind. Not like this.
He helped Prompto back on his feet, failing to notice the roof collapsing around them. By the time he realized this, it was too late; the building began to collapse, with large debris falling straight towards the couple.
Prompto shouted something Noctis missed, and he was suddenly shoved out of the emergency exit. Their eyes met then; horrified ones to resigned ones, as Prompto disappeared in the debris.
Noctis' eyes widened, his breath caught in his throat, as he stumbled to the ground. He could only watch as the entire building collapsed, with nothing remaining of it after a few seconds.
"PROMPTO!" Noctis screamed, tears filling his eyes as he stood from the ground. He rushed forward to the remains of the building, but Gladio gripped the collar of his shirt, keeping him in place.
"Noct!" Gladio yelled, "It's dangerous! Get back!"
"NO!" Noctis screamed, "Prompto's still in there! I have to get him out!"
"You can't help him if you don't back away, Noct—" Gladio warned, but he lost his grip on Noctis' shirt, and Noctis barreled towards the wreckage.
"NOCTIS!" Both Gladio and Ignis screamed, and without a moment's hesitation, rushed towards the wreckage to stop the king. They pushed away large debris and rubble as they searched for the runaway king, screaming out Noctis' name along the way. The two kept their eye on the mount of black hair, but they were unable to relocate him—it was as if he disappeared into thin air.
"NOCTIS!" Gladio screamed, "Come back here or I swear to Shiva's tits, I'll—"
Gladio paused when he and Ignis heard heavy breathing close by, along with sniffling. He glanced at Ignis, who pursed his lips in worry.
"You're so stupid, Prom," a voice—Noctis', Gladio recognized—whispered, and the two heard hands digging into rubble, "you're not supposed to be the one caught in the crossfire. If you're dead, I'll kill you myself—"
Both Gladio and Ignis ran forward, listening in on Noctis' voice. The king's voice was trembling, on the verge of tears. Not a good sign.
They eventually came across Noctis, who managed to find Prompto, buried under the rubble. A stream of blood flowed down the blond's forehead, and he was unconscious. Noctis was holding Prompto's hand, trying to hold in a sob to no avail.
"Noct," Gladio whispered, "move."
"B-b-but Prompto—" Noctis tried to whisper, but Gladio shook his head.
"We're gonna get Prompto outta there. Sitting there and crying ain't gonna help him now."
"But he could be dead!" Noctis exclaimed, "What if—"
"Noctis." Gladio growled, using Noctis' full name. Noctis paused and froze in shock. "Let. Us. Help. If you don't, Prompto will definitely die."
Upon hearing that last sentence, Noctis knew that Gladio was right. He moved aside then, reluctantly letting Prompto's hand go with a sigh. Gladio could see the guilt and sadness in his eyes and he frowned. He knew how much he loved Prompto, and how he cared for him. Losing Prompto in such a way would devastate him.
With a sigh, Gladio crouched down and took Prompto's hand, feeling for a pulse. Weak, but still alive. Thank Cosmos.
He gathered as much rubble as he could, grabbing the largest parts of it, and he pulled. He gritted his teeth, as he grunted and panted. It took a few minutes, but finally, he managed to pull the large rubble off of Prompto's body.
"Iggy," Gladio ordered, "think you could call an ambulance?"
"On it," Ignis was already on the case—with his cell phone, he called 911 and began speaking to the operator from the other end. "Yes, a bombing has occurred here. The king's husband is severely hurt. We're in…"
Noctis could only watch as the scene unfolded in front of him, tears threatening to fall. This was all his fault. If he had been more careful, Prompto wouldn't be in this state. He would be okay. Not buried under the rubble, nearly dying.
"N-N-Noc…"
The three froze when they heard Prompto's quivering voice. Noctis' eyes widened, as he rushed forward and knelt down to the fallen blond.
Prompto began to stir, groaning in pain as he slowly glanced up at Noctis. He was hardly breathing, but alive.
"Prompto!" Noctis gasped, and without warning, wrapped his arms around Prompto. Tears fell then, as he sobbed. Prompto couldn't help but smile as he returned the hug as best as he could.
"Whoa, hey, babe, too tight, I'm gonna suffocate more," he joked. Leave it to Prompto for cracking jokes at the worst times.
"Don't ever scare me like that again," Noctis whispered, burying his face in Prompto's shoulder.
"You'd do the same for me," Prompto pointed out, "you can't be the only one who's a self sacrificing idiot here."
Gladio and Ignis shook their heads, with Ignis pinching the bridge of his nose in exasperation. Gladio could have sworn he heard Ignis mutter, "Idiots."
They were glad that help had finally arrived; they didn't have to lose any more brain cells seeing these two idiots.

When Ardyn opened his eyes again, Noctis and Prompto were looking down on him. The Prince offered him a hand, and this gesture alone triggered a feeling in Ardyn he did not know how to place. Something filled a hole which he had not known existed until then. No one had shown him any compassion since Somnus had branded him a monster. Not Verstael, not Aldercapt, and especially not the gods. Everyone had only ever been interested in his well being for their own selfish reasons. And Noctis and his friends … Were they just mocking him? "Could this be … pity?" he asked sceptically. "You can also stay there if you want", Noctis said casually and Ardyn was willing to believe that this was all there was to it. No bribing. No lies. He was merely offering his help. Even though he possessed Somnus' features, he and Ardyn's brother could not have been more different. - Burnt Out, "The Path To Freedom"

My wrists hurt now so I think I'm going to call this piece done!
Fun notes, I guess! One, is tail is based on the the Dark Allural Sea Bass (mostly because I thought the colours might suit him). Two, I really like the idea of changing the eagle tattoo up to a kraken, a mythological but still feared creature. I gave him a spear because I didn't think a sword would work too well.
@lunarlegend just wanted to make sure you saw it, since you seemed so excited.

Noctis struggling to cope with Tennebrae's attack and relearning how to walk, is kidnaped by Niff infiltrators. Fortunately for him at the extraction point they encounter one very feisty Chocobo who isn't all to impressed with how the humans are dealing with their little Chick. Thus Noctis gets kidnapped twice in one Night.
As bizzare as the whole situation is, he doesn't seem to be the only boy this Chocobo has kidnapped either. Seeing as there is a feral blonde whose eyes he swears sometimes flash red in her nest.

Welcome to my story blog!
This little corner will be dedicated to my FFXV au story, with my original character Luna Lafleur.
Tumblr media
A prologue overhaul:
Born and raised in Insomnia, her father was an ex-researcher for Niflheim before he realized how out of hand their experiments had become. In this timeline, no Oracle has been chosen, and the Empire is working on developing the means to synthetically create their own with the DNA of the original Oracle, Aera.
Luna’s mother died when she was very young in an accident involving a Magitek soldier following Luna home, severely injuring her. Her mother stays behind to fend them off while she escapes with her father, which is ultimately what ends her life. Shortly after, her father disappears as well, leaving Luna with her adopted brother Prompto as the only family she has left.
Luna’s father discovers Prompto as a mere infant abandoned in a Niflheim laboratory, and not only takes him in as his own, but ultimately is what makes him come to terms with the empire’s wrongdoings. He takes Prompto and his pregnant wife, moving to Insomnia. Luna is born not long after.
After the death of their mother and sudden disappearance of their father, Luna and Prompto have to rely on each other. Grief-stricken through most of their early childhood, they keep to themselves, finding it hard to make friends even in school. Though Prompto is able to heal his emotional wounds in his own ways, Luna’s injury makes it hard for her to forget that day, and is plagued with nightmares, as well as a newfound hatred for the Empire.
Not long after the attack, King Regis declares a peace treaty with Niflheim, which doesn’t help any with quieting the rage within her. Now, Luna sees the royal family as no better than the empire, and her hatred now has a new target: the king.
Several years later, Luna and Prompto begin high school, and a new student is introduced-who is none other than Prince Noctis, heir to the Lucian throne. Everyone is abuzz with excitement and awe, even Prompto, who seems to bode no ill will towards the royal family despite what had happened with their parents. But Luna can’t help but feel her rage resurfacing when she lays eyes on Noctis for the first time. He’s quiet, reserved, and even politely tries to make peace with her, but to no effect. She uses him as her own personal scapegoat for her unfulfilled need for vengeance, picking on him and beating him up every chance she gets. Multiple detentions and suspensions later, their rivalry is known through whispered words throughout the school.
In a somewhat surprising turn of events, Prompto and Noctis get along quite well, and despite Luna’s personal issues with the prince, Prompto wishes to make amends, even going so far as to tell Noctis about their family’s troubled past with Niflheim and Luna’s accident that led to the death of their mother. Noctis sympathizes, now seeing Luna’s rage in a new light, and vows to do everything he can to help her through her grief.
After that, Noctis no longer puts up a fight. He lets Luna verbally and physically abuse him, hoping that it’ll help her work through her personal feelings. She sees it as a sign of surrender, and thinks that he’s giving up. It would be another year of torment before any sort of change would occur.
One night at a party, Luna gets particularly riled up (and belligerently drunk), and goes about her usual routine of talking down to Noctis and throwing several punches. Only this time, the two are inebriated beyond recognition, and Noctis’s mind is elsewhere. After a while, Luna angrily demands him to hit her back, scream, shout..to do anything other than sit there and take it. Rather than giving in to her demands, he looks at her with empathetic eyes, leans in to kiss her, and simply says: “Do what you need to do.”.
Luna is shocked by his actions, and through the lens of impaired judgment, that night ends up a hateful, passionate mess of intensity. Through their shared actions and newfound intimacy, Luna now sees Noctis in a new light: he’s not some monstrous, inhumane descendant of royalty. He’s human, just like her. Despite being intoxicated beyond belief, she takes notice of the scars on his back, similar to the ones she bears on her lower stomach.
The next day, when they both come to, Luna realizes what actually happened the night prior, and has, to put it mildly, an internal crisis. Despite this, she swallows her pride and proceeds to have a very awkward conversation with Noctis, who seems just as confused (and hungover) as she is about how the whole thing went down. They both agree never to speak of the incident again, promising to keep it a secret between the two of them.
Though initially hesitant, Luna ends up asking Noctis about the scar on his back she had seen, and he tells her about the accident he had as a child, wherein his mother died saving his life. Luna takes this to heart, realizing that the two are more alike than she ever imagined, and voices her regret towards her initial treatment of him. He tells Luna that he knew all along about her past, and wants to help her make things right, even going so far as to promise an audience with his father, the king.
Through time and trust, Luna works through her grief with the help of Noctis, and an unexpected friendship forms from their shared life experiences. What had begun as an initial bitter rivalry turns into something more understanding, and in time, the two become inseparable.
And that’s the gist of the backstory!
I tried to condense it as much as possible, but there are some things I didn’t touch on. This blog is mostly for myself to keep track of story bits and pieces, though I hope to eventually turn this into a full-blown story. More posts to come about the present day, as well as how Luna ends up as one of Noctis's Crownsguard with the other boys!
Thanks for reading!<3

Detective Ignis AU! Just something that popped into my head the other day. He'd make an amazing detective, no?
This is just a little summary / concept. I did write a couple chapters, but me and finishing fics... or posting them at all... 😅
After an accident involving a coeurl or ten, Ignis Scientia had lost his sight. His hunting career is over. His tracking skills and his sheer intellect put him on a new path - one of an aspiring private detective.
But he has to start small. Like, really small. No more than 15cm tall, in fact. His first case is a dead frog. His first client is Sania the looney scientist. And his first clue is a scent - a sharp, acidic scent hanging over the bloody pond.
His only help comes in the form of occasional sarcastic comments from Noct, a mysterious young hunter. Noct's from "nowhere important" in the country of "mind your own business". His terms are simple. He escorts Ignis on his investigations. He gets a cut of the profits, along with any loot they acquire in the wild.
Noct is always ragged, shirt button eternally on the verge of falling off. He lacks manners. And friends. And any kind of acquaintances in the area, as far as Ignis can tell. The one thing he doesn't lack are weapons. And rage - strange, almost ethereal rage, always burning behind those dark blue eyes.
He's almost too suspicious. And yet, he's Ignis' first suspect. Obvious isn't always wrong.
What would be wrong is making out with said suspect in an abandoned shed on their way home from questioning a local fisherman.
As stories start to unravel and masks fall off, Ignis is forced to reconsider whether he really is starting small, or uncovering revelations that will shape Eos' future.

Prompto, to Ardyn: „Hate to break it to you, but y’know, Aranea really can’t stand you.“ Ardyn: „Can’t say I’m surprised.“ Gladio: „Is there anyone who can stand you?“ Ardyn: „I believe you know the answer to that question already.“ Gladio: „It’s that bad, huh?“ Ignis: „One would think the Chancellor of Niflheim had better public relations.“ Ardyn: „Mind you, I get along great with the public! Niflheim politicians, on the other hand, are predators. It takes an unusually great amount of pretence and backstabbing to survive among the high and mighty. I understand that not everyone approves of such methods.“ Prompto: „Oh, that explains so much! Like, all that teasing we had to endure.“ Ardyn: „That was no teasing. I was merely … nudging you into the right direction.“
