Hi LB! I just wanted to say that I love your fic ACoFD. But there are some parts of it I love more than others. Some ‘scenes’. My favourite though is the scene where Feyre meets Rhysand during Calanmai and he’s angry or smth idk and his shadows come out and Feyre smiles at them and Rhys was like whaaaaaa??? And then he started skimping for her?
Do you have a similar favourite scene in your fic?
Awww đŸ„șđŸ„ș Thank you for sharing this with me!! I'm so happy you enjoy ACoFD! That was a big moment for Rhys. I drew inspiration from this scene in acomaf:
Tumblr media
In this scene Rhys tells Feyre that he couldn't stay away from her because even when they'd first met, she hadn't been afraid of him. And I just thought it would blow his mind if the first time they met, Feyre was not only unphased by his power, she could acknowledge it with love.
After half a century of wearing that mask, with one look Feyre cuts him down to the male underneath and Rhys is completely defenseless. It's one of my favorite scenes too. I love exploring their vulnerabilities đŸ„°
My other favorites are similarly big character moments. Rhysand's confrontation with Kallias, Feyre's conversation with Azriel on the rooftop, and this conversation between Rhys and Feyre:
“If I have to die—”
“ Don’t .”
“Feyre.” Warm fingers found her chin, encouraging her to look at his beautiful, battle-worn face. His easy smile did nothing to warm the frost in her bones.
“Don’t you dare try to justify sacrificing your life, Rhysand.”
“It’s not a choice I want to make,” he said, eyes searching hers. “But if only one of us can survive, I will choose you every single time . I won’t apologize for it.”
“You should,” she snapped. “Because you know what it feels like. You know exactly how it would tear me apart to lose you.”
Those violet eyes were so sad. “But you would survive,” he whispered. “My beautiful little fighter, you would survive losing me, and you would live on to make this world a better place.”
Feyre swallowed around the tears that clogged her throat. “That’s not possible. The world can’t be a better place if you’re not in it.”
“There is a long list of people who would disagree,” he said lightly, sorrow swallowing the stars in his eyes. “And if you were the legacy I left behind, that would be
that would be perhaps the kindest gift I could leave to this world. My High Lady and her brave mortal heart. You’ve already nearly united Prythian in a few months, imagine what you could do in a century’s time: with some experience and education under your belt. I could die happily, knowing the world was in your hands.”
“Stop,” she begged, her tears spilling with such abandon that they seeped into his tunic. “I will not tolerate this discussion.”
“If it has to happen, I want you to be ready for it,” he continued. “I want to be able to prepare you for taking the throne as its sole heir. Mor can help—”
“ Rhys ,” she warned. His tunic ripped under the grip of her fingers. “Enough.”
