“Really?” Fend asked, his eyebrows raising as he shifted his arm so she could snuggle in further. Considering how she acted when they cuddled, Fend had always pegged Autumn as someone who enjoyed physical contact. However, even if she wasn’t big on it in general, he was glad that she enjoyed it when with him. Leaning his head against hers, he felt a smile spread across his lips, as well as the accompanying blush that followed. “Being here with you is one of my favorite things too.” It meant the world to him to see her happy. When the mention of kisses met his ears, Fend let out a soft chuckle. “One bunch of kisses, coming right up!” He exclaimed as he gently laid a kiss on Autumn’s nose. He then proceeded to plant kisses on her forehead, cheeks, jaw, and then finally pressed a kiss to her lips.

“I am?” Fend said, a look of surprise coming onto his face. However the look of surprise soon turned into a warm smile. Leaning his elbow on her shoulder, Fend listened to her words: he made her feel safe and free to be herself. That was one of his main goals, especially when it came to his friends. “Why would I judge you? It wouldn’t do anything aside from hurt your feelings.” Judging her wouldn’t accomplish anything, nor would it give him any satisfaction, so what would be the point of it? “Would you like me to yell at those people for you?” He offered. He didn’t take kindly to people being rude to his friends. “I definitely don’t think you’re a freak. I think you’re a really cool and really pretty person.”

It was not uncommon for Fend to compliment someone, since he loved to make people’s days. He especially found himself complimenting others while at work, since there were so many people to talk to. However it was his day off and as a result, he’d invited Autumn over for a movie day. He wasn’t exactly the best with horror movies, but he knew she liked them and he was curious. So he’d decided to start off with a less scary one. “You’re sweeter.” He said with a grin. Upon answering the door, he’d told her that she’d looked really pretty. “You were yourself?” He offered up. He liked it when people were themselves around him instead of trying to be something they weren’t.

Autumn’s cheeks heated up slightly as she glanced downward before looking back up at Fend, teeth sinking into her bottom lip. She always felt safe being herself around Fend so that comment only warmed her heart further. “You’re probably the only person I am myself around, you know that?” Aside from anyone outside of her family. “I know that no matter what you’d never judge me and that makes me feel safe.” She confessed, unsure why she was suddenly so emotional just from one compliment. But, it felt like she had to voice her feelings. “Most people think I’m a freak honestly, but I know you’d never think that.”

“How do you know? You say that you can resist pouting, but you’ve never seen my sad face.” Of course that was because he could usually be found smiling, especially when he was at work. It was rare for him to be truly upset over something. And although he wasn’t actually upset, he wanted to tap into the sad face he made when he actually was upset. Biting his lower lip, he looked down at his feet, giving her a sad puppy look.

autumn couldn’t help but shoot fend a look of amusement the moment she heard his statement, head tilting to the side slightly. “i’m sure your lips would get tired from pouting so much so it won’t be long till you give that up.” she teased, scrunching her nose up slightly. “i’m pretty good at resisting pouting.” she bluffed, trying her best to resist the urge to smile. while that was typically a true statement, she wasn’t entirely sure or not if she would be able to resist fend or not.

a light blush spread across the young witch’s cheeks as she glanced down at her feet for a moment before looking back up at fend through her lashes. autumn wasn’t used to being complimented but when she was, typically it made her feel uncomfortable. as if she wasn’t deserving of such praise. but, it didn’t feel that way when fend was complimenting her. it made her feel warm and fuzzy inside, which was a feat. “you’re way too sweet, you know that? what did i do to deserve someone as kind as you in my life?” she definitely considered herself lucky to have someone like fend in her life.
