The Night I Turn Twenty Released
You can play it here
Last update ā„ December 8th, 2023
You are a famous actor/actress at the peak of your career when someone attempts to kill you. Instead of meeting your end in heaven (or hell, for that matter), you find yourself transported back eight years ago, precisely when you were 20 years old.
The worst part is, it's the beginning of your career. It is when you haven't attained all the fame and luxury you currently possess. No, it can't be like this.
You have to regain your career
ā¢ Play as male/female/nonbinary
ā¢ Have 4 romance options + 1 hidden RO to romance
ā¢ Audition and star in your favorite movie
ā¢ Regain your success and fame
ā¢ Seek revenge against the one who tried to kill you or simply forgive
ā¢ Become a better person
ā¢ Someone from the past (Madison/ Mason Ashford):
You've known each other since childhood. They are a troublemaker, and you are an overachiever. You have always been each other's enemies. But one day, during high school, you did something unforgivable, causing them to truly hate you.
Enemies to lovers???
ā¢ The actor crush (Kaia/Kai Carlson):
They are your favorite actor, even before you became famous. Despite your newfound fame, you never starred in the same movie, and even at award shows, you could only watch them from distance. But this time, in this new life, you are given the chance to act in a film together. Could this also be an opportunity for you to capture their heart?
Crush to lovers???
ā¢ The bodyguard (Ava/Adam Blackwell):
With your rising popularity and the killer still on the loose, your manager assigns a bodyguard to protect you. The problem is, this quiet and cold bodyguard is incredibly attractive.
Boss-employee to lovers???
ā¢ The cute fan (Lydia/Luke Parker):
In your previous life, after high school, you moved to LA to pursue your dreams, not putting much thought into college and such. This time around, you have the opportunity to go to college. But as it turns out, a classmate is a big fan of yours. With their warm smile, they also can brighten your days.
Idol-fans to lovers???

āØFalco Grice's cheeks have never seen a day of rest since he joined the cast. They are everyone's personal squishie or stress ball and they're always red when he goes home
āØ Levi has another signature other than the iconic cut: kohl. No matter the fit, his eyes are kohled on the red carpet
āØ Levi and Hange did a hit psychological horror movie together as the main leads. Theatre was shook, Tiktok was shook, Theatre was shook and people watched it for.....the amazing plot (the plot was Hange in a lacy black bar and low rise jeans covered in blood and Levi in the shower)
āØ Sasha has taken singing/music lessons since she was a kid, so she has a beautiful voice and can play the electric guitar, acoustic guitar, piano and keyboard. She has a music career aside from acting, and her songs tend to go viral Tiktok for cute trends. Her music has Clairo or Mazzy Star vibes, but she also likes it a bit risque so expect some softer R&B Kehlani type beats too. She tends to forget a lot of her fans are kids though LOL apology statements have been released (left a lip stick mark on an adult male fan's shirt and humped the floor while there were kids in the audience chile)
āØ Armin is THE SWEETEST EVER to kid fans like kid fans are his favorite and it shows. He'll always doodle a heart or sumn when he signs an autograph and you bet he'll go all soft complimenting the kid's mini plushie of him or their little Survey Corps cape
"Aww look at your cape yknow little buddy I had one too but it's not as cool as yours"
āØ Historia and Ymir. NOBODY has deciphered to this day if they're besties or dating it's that confusing and they don't make it any easier to guess.
āØ Annie and Mikasa call each other "wifey" and people try and start like imaginary beef between them like 13 year olds with too much time lol and all the while they're gossiping at award shows and feeding each other pudding or having sleepovers
āØ Zeke is a swiftie and he was the most EMBARRASSING CELEB MEMBER IN THE CROWD š my brotha was twerking during more sensual or hardcore songs and he was getting drunk back there
āØ Erwin is NEVER dodging Captain America allegations he's tried to deny the rumors of him replacing Chris Evans since 2013 to no avail
āØ Erwin is a girl dad who keeps his relationship with his wife very private but sometimes he shares pictures of his life as a married man. The fandom will never get over him in a pink wig
āØ Pieck is a pretty privilege Tiktok lipsync star and we love that for her
āØ Jean and Connie did the Buzzfeed thirst tweets video tgt
āØ "Dude listen I've been goin to the bathroom with him for a decade now and it's more of a pony than a horse"
"Istg if yo bald head don't-"
āØ Eren Yeager reposts bad mafia x y/n Tiktok POV's of him

Rita Hayworth (Gilda, Cover Girl)āAbsolutely, drop-dead gorgeous. She steals every movie sheās in; she was Fred Astaireās favorite dance partner, as you can see in clips from their movies [link][link]. Born Margarita Carmen Cansino, Rita's story had its tragediesāher father was awful and had her performing in nightclubs way, way too young; the studio totally remade her look because they were afraid of her hispanic image, putting her through painful treatments and diets; she had a string of failed marriages. But beside all that, I think there's something about Rita that still glows throughāan inner beauty that has nothing to do with the studio, or the men who pinned their dreams on her. Rita brings an incandescence to roles that's impossible to replicate, and was truly a great actress in that she could switch from herselfāshy Margaritaāinto a bold and glamorous femme fatale so convincingly everyone fell in love with her as Gilda. She's my favorite movie star, and I think she was a beautiful human through and throughāRita, gorgeous and real and shining bright.
Jennifer Jones (Duel in the Sun, Song of Bernadette)āMaybe not the best actress (despite her academy award), but she definitely has charisma. Watching her opposite an against type Gregory peck in duel in the sun: incandescent. Also was a mental health advocate.
This is round 2 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.
[additional propaganda submitted under the cut]
Rita Hayworth:
Do you need any other propaganda? Hereās the video.
youtube
She was not called "the love goddess" for nothing: beautiful, glamorous, despite playing sexy and provocative roles her inherent shyness somehow also would shine through sometimes, creating this contradictory and incredibly attractive image
Often played "the bad girl" who tempted the male hero away from "the good girl"; but did have roles that broke her out of that mold. She was also the inspiration for Jessica Rabbit. THE pinup girlie.
She was soo beautiful when she was young and she MAINTAINED that beauty into her later years and I think that old lady glamour is hot. bombastic sex appeal
HELP
youtube
every line she delivers in gilda is so flirty and passionate or absolutely desolate and it's so good
I just have a lot of feelings about her
Jennifer Jones:
She played a saint, a plumber, a film with Kate Bush music video vibes and a ghost and was friends with Ingrid Bergman

In Praise of Tom Hiddleston and Female Directors
As a female director (albeit of Theater and not Film) I have been feeling a little frustrated once again as awards season brings no nominations for women. This led me (as many things do, lol) to thinking about my favorite Muse, Tom Hiddleston.
One of the things that I love about TH is willingness and enthusiasmĀ to work with female directors, and on thinking about it I realized that this allyship has also benefited him as well. Case in point:
1. His first movie, Unrelated, was directed by Joanna Hogg. Now, of course all of us see Hiddles as the perfect Beautiful Boy but imagine if this movie had been directed by a man. In that case, Oakley, the handsome younger man who charms and tempts the 40 something woman, would almost certainly be cast with some young beef cake actor, or at very least had them bulk up in order to play the role. This is who male directors seem to think we desire. Instead, Hogg casts TH and boy does she sell him. Oakley is a little shit, but the way he is lit, framed, directedĀ makes him all but irresistible. The female gaze sees all of his ethereal beauty and shares it with us.
2. Next we have my personal favorite, Henry V in The Hollow Crown. In his big leading episode, Tom is once again directed by a woman, Thea Sharrock. Again, look at how his is shot. The female gaze follows him riding in like a hero from our collective imagination in his opening shot. He is strong and dangerous, savage even at times, without ever loosing that thread of empathy that Henry struggles to clamp down. And do I even have to mention the proposal scene? Watch that and tell me it isnāt pure wish fulfillment for the majority of people who fancy men. I liked him when I watched Loki, but Hollow Crown made me fall so deep down the rabbit hole that I may never climb out again (and honestly, Iām okay with this).
3. Lastly, we come to the role that pushed him over the edge into superstardom, The Night Manager. Can there be any doubt that this miniseries was directed by a woman? The entire show was an advertisement for how gorgeous he is. Yes, there are some lovely shots of Elizabeth Debicki in various states of undress, but Pine is the major eye candy here. See him in finely tailored suits, see him astride a motorcycle, see him bathing, both in a waterfall and in a shower covered in mud, see his much lauded English countryside looking all round and pert... it just goes on and on. It is not just the visual that Susana Biers gets either. Unlike other spies of film and television, Jonathan is emotional, chivalrous, and above all intelligent. Tom nails the role and the world loved him for it.
I am not saying that male directors do not make Tom look good (hello Conradās arms) or play to his strengths (see the psychological beauty of Adam). I just believe there is something to be said for the qualities that female directors can bring out.Ā
In short (ha, sorry, this ran on looooong, lol) Tom trusts women directors more than many of his fellow actors, and I think the results are that he shows a vulnerability in his work that helps make him more than just another action star. Women have helped make him the actor he is today, and I donāt believe the fact that his last two directors were women is an accident. He said in his interview for Leading Lady Parts that he needed to work with more directors (he had worked with five at that point I believe) and he has been as good as his word. Another reason to love this man.
* I also want to make a special shout out to stage director Josey Rourke, who has the career that I want and gave us this amazing contribution:
#Tom Hiddleston#actors#female directors#the hollow crown#the night manager#unrelated#coriolanus#in praise of twh#support women#allyship#meta#opinoins

little bits of propaganda for claude rains!
-was good friends with bette davis! she called him her favorite male costar and they worked on four films together. also, she had a FAT crush on him and she visited a lot!
-speaking of where he lived, claude owned and worked on farms! he was proud to grow and cultivate land, often restoring and preserving whatever he could and loved the history behind things! he raised cattle, grew crops, and tilled the land himself
-is literally the wikepedia subject for the term 'character actor' - he said it himself on his versatility as an actor, saying "i can play the butcher, the baker, and the candlestick maker
-eleanor roosevelt saw him in 'darkness at noon' on broadway and personally praised him for his performances
-he served in ww1 and was gassed, resulting in 90% blindness in his right eye and damaged vocal chords - giving him his signature voice
-was nominated for 4! academy awards for best supporting actor and also won a tony for best leading actor in a play
-taught at the royal academy for dramatic art, teaching students like john gielgud and sir laurence olivier
-was cast in the invisible man soley on his voice, to quote director james whale, "i don't care what he looks like, i just want that voice!"
-depending on who you ask, he was the first actor to receive a million dollars for a role (as well as risking his life traveling overseas to england during ww2 for filming on 'caesar and cleopatra'
-claude probably worked with your favorite star! his list of co-stars was endless and included people such as bette davis, james stewart, humphrey bogart, paul henried, gloria stuart, basil rathbone, cedric hardwicke, errol flynn, cary grant, ingrid bergman, ronald reagan, and paul muni to name a few.
all in all, i'm pledging my vote for claude rains!!
Hi, thank you for the Claude Rains propaganda!
Friendly reminder to please try to keep things focused on actors TV careers as this is a TV focused competition. Sharing about an actors life is great but we like to steer things away from talk of their movie, theater, or music career and focus on what makes them a hot television star!

Hey! The nominees for the 2024 Kidsā Choice Awards have arrived, and Poppy and Branch have returned since the 2021 KCA ceremony to receive awards for their third movie, Trolls Band Together! Hereās some Trolls-related votes that I just picked:
Favorite Animated Movie: Trolls Band Together
Favorite Male Voice From An Animated Movie: Justin Timberlake as Branch (Trolls Band Together)
Favorite Female Voice From An Animated Movie: Anna Kendrick as Poppy (Trolls Band Together)
Favorite Villain: Amy Schumer as Velvet (Trolls Band Together)
Favorite Music Group: *NSYNC
Favorite Male Artist: Justin Timberlake
Favorite Song: "Selfish" by Justin Timberlake
Favorite Global Music Star: Troye Sivan (Australia)
Itās been clear to find out that unlike the previous KCA ceremonies, Branch and Poppy are placed in two individual voice acting categories for this one. Luckily for this case, it allowed me to vote for both of them in order to get them to be together. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!! šš„°šš (Note to myself; I didnāt pick the wrong oneā¦or else they wonāt be together. š)
The reason why I picked Troye Sivan as Favorite Global Music Star is because he was the voice of Branch's beloved brother, Floyd, and I was allowed to vote for him to show how much I appreciated him. š
Itās great to see that everything about Trolls Band Together, Justin Timberlake, Troye Sivan and *NSYNC are added in some categories. However, the only thing that never made it there was āBetter Placeā by *NSYNC. It wouldāve been great to include that song in Favorite Song or Favorite Viral Song, but there were zero chances of having it to be included. That song I just voted, titled "Selfish", was the best I can do because I know it was one of Justin Timberlake's most recent songs. š
For those who stepped into the 2024 KCA voting website, who do you vote for? For the fans of Trolls, please vote for the ones you desire the most. š
Here's the link to vote for the choices that involved Trolls Band Together, Justin Timberlake, Troye Sivan and *NSYNC! šš

Monthly likes/dislikes
šš» Our Skyy2 - itās a shame because except for The Eclipse and NLMG none of the episodes have been good. The ABAAB episodes have been surprisingly entertaining and they were better than the show itself but overall itās obvious that this whole production was rushed and most of them did not put the required thought + effort into creating these stories; especially the MSP episodes had me shaking my head for so many reasons. Maybe the concept of 16 episodes for 8 couples in the span of 3 months was putting too much on their plates but itās frustrating because it had a promising start. Hopefully this season marks the end of this project altogether.Ā

South Indian cinema: Part 1
I think we (I) don't talk enough about my obsession with the South Indian film industry. I'm less of a star or fame powered fangirl and most of my obsessions start from very niche observations and qualities. Both me and my mom are good cinema enthusiasts, that being said, we love not just watching movies but also analyze them and talk about them in great lengths and detail; and it isn't always just about the actors but also the scenes, the cinematography, the dialogues and so on. We enjoy a good story based cinema that's more about carrying the characters in place and action than about how much hype a movie gets. I enjoy old movies, including monochrome movies of the yesteryears and the faded coloured classics of the 70's and 80's.
Let me go from one obsession to other. First, comes my unexplainable obsession with actors who are also trained dancers. That's a sexy characteristic because it adds an edge to the actor's identity over being just a movie star and IMHO, it also refines the depth of character and acting skills (many talented actors who aren't dancers do exist, this is just my view). I have this captivation with dancers because something in them, be it the unseeable depth of efforts and practice and hurdles they cross before they set foot on the stage or be it the inordinate amount of beauty they express and portray in both costumes and jewelry or be it the grace with which they carry themselves or be it the way the fluidity, fragility and fierceness of dance entwines with their soul and body making it indistinguishable, obvious and redefines their identity and adds meaning to their character for the better. Irrespective of gender, classical dance forms in my opinion, have a profound effect on the individual and somehow makes them all the more charming to me because it's art that flows in their body and art has that unique fragrance to which you can never turn a blind eye to. It also anchors you down to your inner zen because gender conforms and norms are all broken (atleast in Indian classical dances) as both male and female dancers play either roles in dances and it's all the more about expression and emotion than the role per se. And that I think is a very liberating thing and I love Indian classical dances for it.
So here goes the list: Kamal Haasan is a trained Bharatanatyam and Kathak dancer; the best of which is seen in his performance in the movie Sagara Sangamam which is a majorly dance based movie. My most favorite scene is when he humbles Sailaja when she opposes his critique. Padmini, one of the famous Travancore sisters, was a trained Bharatanatyam dancer and in her retired days also opened a dance school and taught abroad. Shobana, one of my favorite actresses, who is also the niece of the Travancore sisters is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer; she also received a national award for her performance in the Malayalam movie Manichitrathazhu which was the original for the famous Chandramukhi, Bhool Bhulaiya, Nagavalli, Aatmamitra etc. I rate her acting top notch because her expressions and her eyes often speak way more than the dialogues. Revathi, is again a trained Bharatanatyam dancer and has delivered multiple box office hits and is also one of my favorite actresses. Bhanupriya, who's pretty famous in tamil and telugu cinema, is a trained Kuchipudi dancer and appeared in the film Sitaara which went on to win the National award for that year. Jayalalitha, apart from her successful political career was a leading film actress in the tamil industry. She was trained dancer of multiple forms like Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Mohiniyattam, Kathak etc. Sukanya, who famously starred against Kamal Haasan in Indian, is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer. Prabhu Deva, who we all know as the Michael Jackson of India, is a trained Bharatanatyam and Udupi dancer. Amala Akkineni, is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer and also has a degree bachelor degree for the same from Kalakshetra. Vineeth, who works mostly in tamil, telugu and malayalam films is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer; lesser known but he's Shobana's cousin and Padmini's nephew from her husband's side. Asin, who is well known for her role in Ghajini, is also a trained Bharatanatyam dancer. Jayam Ravi, now well known as the Ponniyin Selvan after the famous novel adaptation, is also a trained Bharatanatyam dancer.
This is in my list (can't think more, brain fried) do feel free to add more. Tagging @sister-of-satan @voidsteffy and @bipdf because I think y'all will enjoy reading this

Ryan Reynolds' Career
Today's hot topic is.... guess who? Ryan Reynolds! (his career but who cares.)
The charming, affable, and boyishly handsome Reynolds has made his way through everyone's hearts. His captivating personality and his witty humor never fails to amaze the crowd, be it teenagers or people old enough to be his grandmother.
HIS DEBUT ROLE IN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY
At the young age of 15, Ryan made his debut as Billy Simpson in the Canadian teen soap opera, Hillside, in 1991. The show lasted till 1993. Along with that, his journey in Hollywood began from the movie Ordinary Magic in 1993. He played the 15-year-old Ganesh who was born and brought up in India. Hinduism and Mahatma Gandhi's teachings highly influenced his character in this movie.
(WE KNOW WHAT YOU'RE THINKING. EVEN WE'RE LOSING OUR SANITY OVER THIS!!!!!)
(Look at our lil' floatie-floatie boy <3333)
Anywaaaaay.
Reynolds had a few supporting parts in films and TV shows. Because he no longer wanted to play an adolescent, he declined the role of Xander in Joss Whedon's Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-2003). (Terrible fate, we know.) Instead, he was cast in the ABC comedy Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place as medical student Berg (1998ā2001).
His role in the comedy The In-Laws marked his entry into the world of high-budget entertainment. He had an appearance in The X-Files episode titled Syzygy. He also made an appearance as the letter 'A' in the A-Team, in the 4225th episode of the popular kids show Sesame Street.
(THIS IS OUR LITTLE ANGRY A-BOY.)
Now the more exciting part,
HIS MOVIES!
When it comes to effortless charisma and wry wit, it's hard to top Canadian charmer Reynolds. But even though the Vancouver-born actor is mostly unchallenged in those categories, it took a while for him to take off as a bonafide movie star. After a decade of hit-or-miss comedies, Reynolds eventually hit the bullseye with 2016's Deadpool, marking the perfect use of his naughty humor and comic delivery.
(Our top G Ryan as Deadpool *rock 'n' roll*)
Deadpool is regarded as one of the best superhero movies of all time and quickly became the highest earning R-Rated film ever, only beaten by Joker in 2019.
A few of his most adorable films include 'Definitely, Maybe' (2008), The Proposal (2009), The Change-Up (2011), and Just Friends (2005).
He's got many spectacular action movies under his belt. A few of them include, The Hitman's Bodyguard (2017) with top-rated co-star Samuel L. Jackson, 6 Underground (2019), Free Guy (2021), Red Notice (2021), and The Adam Project (2022).
Let's not forget his role as Harvey Kinkle (with the bad hair, ew, but he's cute so we'll take it.) in the movie Sabrina The Teenage Witch (1996).
And then there are a few movies which weren't very well received by his audience. These include R.I.P.D. (2013), Amityville Horror (2005), Green Lantern (2011), and Turbo (2013).
Moving on....
AWARDS HE'S RECEIVED OVER THE YEARS.
Our gorgeous superstar Ryan has received many notable awards as his career progressed. The first ever award he received was in 2003, it was the 'Young Hollywood Award for Next Generation - Male'. Then came an award for his role in Green Lantern - 'People's Choice Award for Favorite Superhero' in 2012, even though this movie was met with conflicting reviews, Reynolds managed to win different hearts by doing what he always does. Turn his charm on. (We AREN'T complaining at all.) A huge number of awards followed his movie Deadpool, which was a major box office hit. One for Best Entertainer in a Comedy Movie, and another for Entertainer of The Year.
Here's Ryan accepting the People's Icon Award at the People's Choice Awards 2022. (Look at his adorable smile, we all love him here at Ganesh Lovers' Community.)
Reynolds' has had a total of 60 nominations and 21 wins in his Hollywood career, which is actually quite a lot.
HIS PERSONAL LIFE
Childhood
Reynolds was raised in a Vancouver Irish Catholic home as the youngest of four boys. His parents were police officers and his mother worked in retail. Two of his brothers work in law enforcement, while a third is a member of the RCMP. From 1940 until 1944, his grandfather Chester Reynolds served as a legislator for Stettler, Alberta, as a member of the Social Credit Party.
Love Life
He was engaged to singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette from June 2004 to February 2007, when they called off their engagement.
Ryan with Alanis.
Shortly after, Reynolds started dating actress Scarlett Johansson, with whom he married on September 27, 2008, at a resort in Clayoquot Sound, close to Ucluelet, British Columbia. In December 2010, they divorced and filed for separation.
Ryan with Scarlett.
He started dating Blake Lively, his Green Lantern co-star, in 2011, and the two got married on September 9, 2012.
Ryan with Blake.
Children
Ryan and Blake have three daughters together: James (born in 2014), Inez (born in 2016), and Betty (born in 2020). Bettyās name was publicly revealed by a close friend, Taylor Swift in her song of the same name from the album Folklore.
Them with their three kids. (Our mini Ryan's and Blake's <3)
Personal Achievements
In 2008 and 2009, People magazine ranked Reynolds as one of the sexiest men alive. He was named the magazine's sexiest man alive in 2010.
He was inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame in 2011, but the event was postponed since he couldn't make it. (Kinda depressing, TBH.) The day of his official induction was October 18, 2014.
But in December of 2016, Reynolds was honored with a star of his on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
(They're the cutest, seriously.)
Let's move on to....
HIS CHARITY AND ADVOCACY WORK
(This is kind of lengthy, bear with us.)
He's a humble and down-to-earth man, at least from what we've heard, and with the help of his super incredible wifey Blake, they make the power duo and set foot on Earth to save a few souls here and there. Here are a few of their contributions:
A half-million dollars were given to the Canadian nonprofit Water First Education & Training Inc. in March 2022 by Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively.Ā
In Vancouver, Canada, Reynolds also appeared in campaign videos sporting his recognizable "ugly" red-and-green sweater. By January 2021, according to the charity, $640,000 had been raised as a result of his fundraising efforts.
In March 2021, Reynolds and Lively gave $250,000 to a Canadian organization that mentored Indigenous youngsters, Influence Mentoring.Ā
Reynolds and his wife had also matched donations made to Covenant House Vancouver and Toronto up to a total of $250,000 in a remarkable gesture of generosity to help youngsters who are homeless, victims of trafficking, or in danger, back when COVID-19 had first struck.
Reynolds joined The Michael J. Fox Foundation in 2008 when he participated in Team Fox's New York City Marathon run. Reynolds ran the marathon in his father's memory, finishing in under four hours and raising more than $100,000 for Parkinson research.
And lastly,
HIS ALCOHOL COMPANY AVIATION GIN
As we see his posts on social media promoting his gin company:
Let's give you a brief history on the company and his role in it.
The goal of Aviation Gin was to develop a democratic gin blend with juniper in the background. It was formed in 2006 out of Portland, Oregon. a gin that is suitable for every cocktail. For the next ten years, it would remain mostly unknown.
Fast forward to 2018, when gin use was growing more rapidly than that of any other type of alcohol. This led to substantial changes in the sector, such as Reynolds buying a stake in the Aviation American Gin.Ā Reynolds is the creative director for the marketing campaign, and it is spectacularly successful (Aviation Gin is now the fastest-growing gin brand in America). How could it not? Reynold is a comic genius who conveys important messages about the quality of gin in the funniest, most approachable ways conceivable.Ā Here's one of his advertisements for the company:
youtube
Hilarious! Are we right?!
Ah, sadly we have to end this splendid deep dive into our favorite floatie-boy Ryan Reynold's life here, but! We're not signing off without blessing your eyes with a few photos of his ;)
Your welcome.
Anyway, signing off, it's the dream team, Ganesh Lovers (get it?).
Adios till our next blog!

Hana Yori Dango-Boys Over Flowers & Meteor Garden: The Female Lead
I posted about the male leads of this stories awhile ago and always wanted to follow up with more. This series made me dive into the world of Asian Dramas. This one and The Heirs or The Inheritors.
This is a story by Yoko Kamio, a gifted manga artist and writer and she received an award (SHOGAKUKAN MANGA AWARD 1996) Many countries have made some version of this story. But as in the Male Lead Post I will focus on only 5. I love all these actresses and version of Makino Tsukushi and I guess that translate to weed.
So without further ado let's meet the lead actresses of HANA YORI DANGO (BOYS OVER FLOWERS) METEOR GARDEN
Number 1: Meet UCHIDA YUKI she is the first live action Makino Tsukushi and she was adorable. Unfortunately her version was a movie from Japan in 1995. It was more satire but charming and she was good. However not as popular as the other adaptations many are unaware of it. Actually this version does not tell the complete story of all Domyouji and Makino since it does not include the vicious mother of Domyouji or Makino's parents. But still it deserves acknowledgement.
Number 2: 2001 brought the first series of this story. No longer HANA YORI DANGO or BOYS OVER FLOWERS it changed it's name to METEOR GARDEN for the Taiwanese version. And Makino Tsukushi became Dong Shancai played by BARBIE HSU.
Fun Fact: In the 2018 Chinese Version co-starred Dee Hsu as Daoming Si's sister. She is the sister of this actress.
Number 3: In 2005 Japan stepped up to create a series version after the 1995 movie with great success. It spawn a second season and a movie finale. Of course the character returned to Makino Tsukushi and was played by INOUE MAO
Number 4: It was 2009 when South Korea put together their version of BOYS OVER FLOWERS. And their female leads name became GUEM JAN DI. This version was also very popular as most were. The actress that brought the strong willed JAN DI to life was GU HYE SEON.
Number 5: Meet SHEN YUE a very talented lady with a variety of credits and successes. China decided to remake the Taiwanese Version so we returned to METEOR GARDEN and the female lead once again became DONG SHANCAI. SHEN YUE received many accolades for her comedic as well as dramatic rendition of the female lead of this story.
In conclusion I loved all these actresses and with each version these ladies brought their A game. That is the reason for adaptation is to bring a great story to different generations and audiences so obviously people have their favorites. Maybe I do to but no need to diminish one version to bring another up. They all can be appreciated and respected.

'Iām genuinely curious about and a little afraid of what is going to happen to a certain kind of film lover when All of Us Strangers comes out in late December. If the reaction to the press tour so far is any indication, expect mass fainting spells and/or riots. There are a bunch of reasons I have pegged this movieāa gay romance from director Andrew Haighāto bring the Letterboxd crowd, me included, to our knees, but the chief one is that it stars not one but two certified internet darlings: Andrew Scott, best known as Fleabagās Hot Priest, and Paul Mescal, who rocketed to fame via Normal People early on in the pandemic and has been an object of ardent fan obsession ever since.
Despite the movieās English director and setting, the other thing Scott and Mescal have in common is that theyāre Irish, which youād think would make their coming together to maximize their joint slay a shoo-in for Irish movie moment of the year. But it turns out competition for that title is pretty stiff in 2023. In November alone, audiences saw Barry Keoghan make his mark on an English country estate in Saltburn and Michael Fassbender scoot through Paris in The Killer, the latterās first major acting job in three years. This is after a summer absolutely dominated by Corkās own Cillian Murphy, who played a Jewish American scientist in Oppenheimer with so much conviction that it matters not a whit that no one in history has ever looked more Irish. All of this came in what is still the same year that The Banshees of Inisherin, starring Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, and Keoghan, was nominated for nine Academy Awards, and Mescal was up for best actor for Aftersun.
They didnāt actually win any of those Oscars, but that doesnāt change a growing body of evidence proving that these days, some of the buzziest stars hail from the Emerald Isle. Ask any film fan whom theyāre excited about, and youāre likely to get an earful of Mescal, Keoghan, Saoirse Ronan, and so on. Iām not the first to point this outāin August, Elle declared that it was āhot Irish guyā summer. But summer has turned into fall, and the hot Irish guys (and gals) remain with us. During awards season, Mashable made a guide to the Irish āitā boys of the Oscars. Several months later, theyāre still āit.ā So, whatās the craic with this Irish invasion?
āIrish people tend to be very good-looking and charming,ā Rachel Connolly, a novelist and critic who has written about Irish cultureās place in the world, told me via email. āThat would have to have something to do with it Iād imagine.ā
True, but why are they so good-looking and charming, and so many of them at once? When I asked Ruth Barton, a critic and film studies professor at Trinity College Dublin, what unites performers like Mescal, Scott, and Keoghan, she posited that they all embody āa kind of soft masculinity.ā
This wasnāt always the case. In earlier eras of Hollywood, Irishmen played priests and cops, not romantic leads. āIrish actors and Irish identity, particularly Irish masculinity, got sexier around the turn of the century,ā Barton said. āThe Troubles ended in 1998. You get this new image of Ireland coming through, with the Celtic Tiger, with the boy bands, with the chick lit, with U2, with Bono and all that kind of thing, which changes the image of the Irish male in particular.ā
Barton cited Chris OāDowdās performance in Bridesmaidsāas a cop, which is a typical Irish role, but a sexy oneāas a key turning point that paved the way for the ascendance of the Irishman as soulful and sexy male lead. This also then makes room for weirder actors like Keoghan to become fan favorites. āHeās the underdog,ā Barton said of Keoghan in Banshees. āHeās not good-looking. Heās not tall. Heās none of those things. But heās really heartfelt. Thatās what he brings to these roles.ā (And some people would beg to differ about the good-looking part, I imagine.)
It helps that Ireland is also in the midst of a āhuge literary moment,ā Barton said. āSally Rooney is only one of the generation of incredible young women writers coming through.ā Rooney, the 32-year-old author of Normal People, is known for portraying ā[her] generationās anomie and discontentā in a way that can also be āviscerally sexy,ā Barton said.
And again, this is still kind of a new thing! āIreland used to be this repressed Roman Catholic country,ā Barton said. āWe abandoned Catholicism, and then we really let rip.ā
Saoirse Ronan notwithstanding, itās true that the viral āinternet boyfriendā phenomenon that so benefits people like Mescal and Scott doesnāt quite have a female equivalent. Still, Irish actresses have been able to take advantage of the spotlight too: Kerry Condon received praise and award nominations for Banshees, Sharon Horganās Bad Sisters featured five plum roles for Irish actresses in 2022, with a second season on the way, and weāre still not that far out from the end of Derry Girls, the Netflix show set in Northern Ireland in the ā90s. Irish actress Nicola Coughlan parlayed her role in that show into work on Bridgertonāshe will be the lead of an upcoming seasonāas well as a spot in one of 2023ās most enviable ensembles, Greta Gerwigās Barbie. (She fittingly played Diplomat Barbie.) Otherwise, Barton cited Jessie Buckley in particular, of last yearās Women Talking, as an Irish actress on the rise.
In a larger sense, for millennials and Gen Z audiences who care about such things, Irelandās politics seem refreshingly unproblematic: āIreland stands for nothing on the world stage,ā Barton said. āWeāre not an aggressor. Weāre not a colonizer. The Troubles are over. We actually live in one of a few countries with a fairly stable democracy. We donāt have crazy leaders. Itās a benign kind of identity, Irishness.ā In other words, the Irish have all the charm Americans find in a British accent, maybe moreāBarton cited a certain richness to āHiberno-Englishāāwith none of the baggage of the Brits.
Irelandās history, of course, has trickle-down effects on the national character. According to Michael Patrick Gillespie, a professor at Florida International University who has studied Irish film, Irelandās past is infused into the whole countryās sense of humor. āThey have a great sense of irony,ā he said. āI mean, they were an English colony for 750 years. I think that would certainly give anyone a bit of cynicism. Thereās a great deal of value placed on wit and on repartee and being able to think on your feet, to think quickly and to deal with ambiguity.ā
ADVERTISEMENT That may account partly for why such a small countryāit has a population of 5 millionācontinues to leave such an outsize cultural impression. āThereās a tremendous creative vitality in Ireland, and that fosters a wide range of artistic projects,ā Gillespie said. āIt also builds up a callus and a stamina because thereās just not a lot of money. Thereās never money in the film industry. Thereās not a lot to support Irish films. And so to make it, to be successful, you really have to endure.ā
Things may be improving on the money front: In February, the Hollywood Reporter published a piece on why the Irish film industry lately seems to be punching above its weight. Some Irish filmmakers pointed to specific funds that have been set up to encourage homegrown talent, leading to projects like Normal People and The Quiet Girl, which was a Best International Feature Film nominee at this yearās Oscars. Barton, meanwhile, pointed out that Ireland also offers quite a bit of state-subsidized theater, so much so that thereās now a fairly well-established trajectory for young actors to follow: After making a name for themselves in theater, they usually move into Irish TV, then parlay that into work elsewhere. When Hollywood productions cast Irish actors, ātheyāre getting pretty accomplished actors coming in who know what to do, who speak English, and who donāt have to deal with the kind of cultural adjustment either because, you know, we can see American TV here,ā Barton said.
And itās also easier now than ever before to work in Hollywood but stay Irish. āBefore, you had to really move to America to work, whereas now people go backwards and forwards very, very easily,ā Barton said. āSomebody like Cillian Murphy is very, very insistent that this is where he lives, this is where his children are being brought up, they are being brought up with Irish values, not with American values, etc.ā For some American fans, this only makes this class of actors more swoon-worthy for how ānot Hollywoodā they are.
Still, Gillespie worries that American audiences are at risk of over-romanticizing the simple, quaint Irish life. āI think that Americans have a very naĆÆve sense of Ireland,ā he said, a sense that is sometimes amplified by movies like Banshees, in Gillespieās view. āThereās almost a patronizing view of the Irish that that I think causes many Americans to underestimate their complexity.ā In other words, Ireland and Irish actors are more than a vision of a sensitive man who reads poetry in bars or, say, really loves his donkey. āI think American audiences are more than capable of seeing the complexity that is there in Irish films and appreciating the complexities that Irish actors can convey,ā Gillespie added. Something to keep in mind while youāre watching Mescal and Scott smooch next month at a theater near you.'

Hi Jen/Peach!
Some food for thought:
So Iāve watched Oppenheimer, Barbie, and pain hustlers (have not yet seen may December but am hoping to soon).
Oppenheimer was my least favorite and contained IMO the most uninspired performances (cillian is usually great but here I was bored by him. Emily was a nonentity). Robert - no. Awards worthy? I donāt think so. I really donāt. Josh Hartnett was unexpectedly very well used and honestly great in this film. I think itās obvious who is campaigning for awards and who isnāt. (Teehee)
Pain hustlers was actually the most enjoyable and easy to watch for me. Unfortunately parts of the script and direction just seemed way too safe (especially that party scene - how did the filmmakers even not realize that) but the performances were very strong. The cast was solid and if the script had been tighter could have really been a special film. It wasnāt received well by critics clearly because there were multiple parts of the film I was likeā¦thatās it? This is rated R for goodness sake do it like you mean it!!! What does this change? Where does this even go? But I donāt think itās because of the cast at all. Emily and Chris were great. Emily was good enough but not awards worthy compared to some of her other roles. But she did more here than Oppenheimer. Again - who is campaigning for awardsā¦.
Barbie - enjoyable to an extent. Margot really is Barbie in real life and I know she wants that Oscar. I donāt know if sheāll get it for this but there were several scenes she portrayed a Barbie doll to a tee. Ryan was fun at parts and then just got annoying. I really enjoyed one part where he sings (no spoilers) but the rest then just got excessive. The script was definitely IMO the strongest part of the film (and definitely the best written against the others I watched) because it was very creative and inventive. It was well thought out and took the time to build a world, take it apart, and then put it back together. But at the same time it really borders on the line of being cheesy. I donāt think it deserves best picture at all. I also am not sold on Ryanās performance. I think a lot of people were giving him his stars because he was singing and dancing at parts and being different out of pocket from his usual stoic roles but so do most actors who get into roles where they need to do this. He didnāt go out of the box for me because Iāve seen him do Mickey Mouse club stuff so he could always sing dance and act. His role also wasnāt so intense that he was carrying the film at all for me. IMO, good enough to warrant praise but not enough to win an Oscar. (Again, this is just IMO and Iāve seen a fair amount of Ryan films. Man can act - no question. He is also funny and has very dry wit. But Ken is not an Oscar worthy performance Iām sorry.)
And Iāll be completely unadulteratedly honest here: Chris Eās acting in pain hustlers showcased a version of him that I feel competes with some of the male supporting actors this year. It really does. He was not given enough to do because of the lackluster script but the acting was THERE. That scene in the garage (people who watched will know) was more poignant than anything Robert did in Oppenheimer. The rapping scene - it lasted for like 20 seconds but if he were to do more to perform maybe the conversation would be different. I think heās always being used not enough and playing/choosing roles where they cut off before he can really really let go and thatās whatās in my opinion, hurting him/making him lose out. If he ever manages to break out of this lackluster cycle he could go far. But thatās only if and when he chooses to or gets an opportunity that allows him to.
Iām sorry - I know people will come on here and disagree and then probably try and rant at my post if you do post it, but some of you need to watch all three films and past movies of all the scores being discussed here if you really want to go head to head to debate.
I may be the only person coming on here to say I think Chris is severely underrated and actually mean it from a technical standpoint but I really believe itās true. I donāt care if haters will poopoo my statement but thereās simply no reason he couldnāt be considered for more serious roles with award potential if he wanted it. Perhaps he doesnāt or maybe heās been pigeonholed and now has had a steak of not so great films that itās going to hurt his future chances at being taken more seriously. But I do not believe for one second the talent isnāt there - especially compared to some performances Iāve watched lately.
Oh, I love hearing from other people. I have not seen Oppenheimer yet, so I can't speak on that movie.
I do agree with many of your points, but it is nice to hear from others, because I know I can be a bit biased when it comes to him. You know, us silly fans always make excuses for him š¤
All in all it's sad to see him get critiqued so harshly for PH. And the fact that it will be forgotten. It was a solid performance from him.

Nude Photos of Leonardo DiCaprio
I watch mostly comedy and science fiction, and Leonardo DiCaprio doesn't do much of either, so I've only seen a few of his movies:Ā Romeo x Juliet,Ā Inception, The Great Gatsby, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.Ā Ā But I've heard of many: they win Critic Association awards, get discussed on first dates, end up on top of people's "my favorite movie" lists
He is not a beefcake star, but a surprising number of his film appearances involve nudity. In 1994, playing Arthur Rimbaud inĀ Total Eclipse,Ā Leo gave us full frontal and rear shots. (Don't worry, he's over 18 here). Playing a troubled youth inĀ The Basketball DiariesĀ (1995).Ā Leo displayed his rear. In The Aviator, a biopic of Howard Hughes, he gave us almost a dick shot. Plus there have been many candids of Leo on the set or at the beach.
The nude photos are on RG Beefcake and Boyfriends
