जल्द ही किसानों के साथ वार्ता करेंगे अधिकारी
Greater Noida News In Hindi :

American activist shot dead in occupied West Bank
A 26-year-old American woman has been shot dead in the occupied West Bank during a protest.
Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, who is of Turkish descent, is reported to have been taking part in a protest against Jewish settlement expansion in the town of Beita near Nablus.
Ms Ezgi Eygi was allegedly shot by Israeli troops, according to local media reports. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) say they are aware of the incident and looking into it.
The American activist was rushed to a hospital in Nablus with a gunshot to the head and was later pronounced dead, AFP news agency reported.
According to reports by Palestinian media, the 26-year-old had been involved in a campaign to protect farmers from Israeli settler violence.
It comes after Israeli forces withdrew from Jenin city and its refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, following a major nine-day operation there.
During the operation, at least 36 Palestinians were killed - 21 from Jenin governorate - the Palestinian health ministry says. Most of the dead have been claimed by armed groups as members, but the ministry says children are also among those killed.
In the past 50 years, Israel has built settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, where more than 700,000 Jews now live.
Settlements are held to be illegal under international law - that is the position of the UN Security Council and the UK government, among others - although Israel rejects this.

"When We Were Dragged On Roads…": Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia Join Congress
Shaking up the political landscape in Haryana weeks ahead of the Assembly elections in the state, wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia have joined the Congress.
Tumblr media
Both Olympians, who had been at the forefront of last year's protests against the alleged sexual assault and intimidation by former Wrestling Federation of India chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, had met senior Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday.
On Friday, Ms Phogat and Mr Punia, who are both 30 years old, met Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge at his residence before formally joining the party at its headquarters in New Delhi.
"Chak de India, Chak de Haryana! Met our talented champions Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia, who have made India proud in the world, at 10, Rajaji Marg. We are proud of both of you," Mr Kharge posted in Hindi on X.
The entry of the wrestlers into the Congress is expected to give it a boost as Ms Phogat is seen to enjoy support among farmers, who make up a significant voting bloc in Haryana. The Congress is hoping that the farmers' anger against the BJP will help it dislodge the party from a state it has ruled since 2014.
The Congress will also hope that Mr Punia and Ms Phogat joining the party will give it an upper hand in its negotiations with INDIA ally AAP in seat-sharing for the 90 constituencies in the state. While an in-principle agreement regarding an alliance had been announced on Wednesday, there appears to be a stalemate between the two parties with the AAP seeking 10 seats and the Congress willing to give up only five to seven.
Upbeat after winning five out of the 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana this year after the BJP's clean sweep in 2019, the state unit of the Congress was reluctant to part with any Assembly constituencies but the push for a tie-up has reportedly come from Rahul Gandhi, who has maintained that it will ensure there is no division of votes and give the party its best possible chance to defeat the BJP.
Differences within the Congress have reportedly delayed its first list of candidates and the BJP has been facing pushback and a rebellion since it did so on Wednesday, with Energy Minister Ranjit Chautala and MLA Lakshman Napa quitting the party after being denied tickets. Mr Chautala has said he will contest as an Independent and Mr Napa has announced that he will be joining the Congress.
Mr Chautala is the son of Chaudhary Devi Lal Chaudhary, one of Haryana's tallest leaders, who served as chief minister twice and was also a deputy prime minister.

PM Modi Criticizes Opposition Before Budget Session
In a forceful address delivered just before the commencement of the Parliament Budget Session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Opposition parties, setting a combative tone for the upcoming proceedings.
Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, PM Modi accused the Opposition of prioritizing political interests over national welfare. "It's disheartening to see that while our government is focused on development and progress for all Indians, some opposition parties seem more interested in disrupting parliamentary proceedings for their narrow political gains," the Prime Minister stated.
Modi emphasized the importance of the Budget Session, highlighting its crucial role in shaping India's economic future. He urged all parliamentarians to engage in constructive debates and discussions, stating, "This session is about the aspirations of 1.4 billion Indians. It's not the time for political theatrics but for meaningful dialogue that can propel our nation forward."
The Prime Minister particularly criticized the Opposition's stance on several key issues, including economic reforms and national security. He accused them of spreading misinformation and creating unnecessary hurdles in the implementation of vital policies. "Their obstructionist approach is not just hampering governance but is also against the spirit of democracy," Modi asserted.
In his address, Modi also outlined his government's achievements over the past year, citing improvements in various sectors including healthcare, infrastructure, and digital economy. He challenged the Opposition to debate these issues based on facts and figures rather than resorting to what he termed as "baseless allegations."
The Prime Minister's strong words come in the wake of growing tensions between the ruling party and the Opposition over several contentious issues, including the farmers' protests, handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, and recent economic policies.
Opposition leaders were quick to respond to Modi's remarks. A spokesperson for the main opposition party countered, "The Prime Minister's accusations are a clear attempt to deflect attention from his government's failures. We are ready for constructive dialogue, but the government must first acknowledge the real issues facing the country."
Political analysts suggest that Modi's pre-session address is a strategic move to set the narrative and put the Opposition on the defensive right from the start of the Budget Session. However, they also warn that such confrontational tones might further polarize the political atmosphere, potentially impacting the productivity of the parliamentary proceedings.
As the Budget Session begins, all eyes will be on how this political confrontation unfolds and whether it will affect the discussion and passage of crucial bills and policies. The coming days are likely to witness intense debates and possibly disruptions, as both the government and the Opposition stake their positions on various national issues.

In 2016, I met several Lumad leaders from the Philippines at the United Methodist General Conference in Portland, Oregon. The leaders were participating in Lakbay Lumad USA, a tour hosted by the International Coalition for Human Rights in the Philippines and co-sponsored by the United Methodist Women and the Board of Church & Society.
During the speaking tour, the Lumad speakers shared their struggle against foreign mining companies and the militarization that came with the mining companies. Just a few months prior to their visit, 5,000 farmers in Southern Mindanao, home to the lumad, protested lack of government support and distribution of aid amid a drought. When the farmers peacefully protested, the police spared water cannons on them, and eventually fired bullets, killing one farmer and injuring others. The cry of the people become “Bigas Hindi Bala” or “Rice Not Bullets!” This was but one example of many instances of harassment and violence the Lumad people faced at the time. This video from the United Methodist Church gives an overview of the struggle of the Lumad.
The General Conference responded to the situation in the Philippines, amending and re-adopting Resolution #6118, which called for US restriction on military aid to the Philippines, the termination of US military agreements with the Philippines, and the resumption of peace talks in the country amid the ongoing civil war between the Community Party of the Philippines -NPA-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) and the government of the Philippines.
Since General Conference, however, the human rights situation in the Philippines has largely worsened. After his election in 2016, President Rodrigo Duterte ran one of the most brutal and militarist regimes in Philippine history, shutting down progressive schools for Lumad children, opening up the country for more foreign mining, and waging an intense killing spree against activists via a counterinsurgency campaign and a so called “war on drugs.” To make things worse, Ferdinand Marcos Jr, son of one of the most brutal dictators in history, became President in May 2022. Intense repression, killings, and disappearances of activists have continued under Marcos Jr. with no sign of let up.
This September, news came that one of the Lumad leaders who visited the General Conference in 2016, Kerlan “Lala” Fanagal, was killed. Katribu, an indigenous organization in the Philippines, confirmed that Kerlan had joined the NPA in resistance to the government programs targeting the Lumad. Kerlan is one of many who have decided to join the NPA as a response to severe oppression in the country.
Snap Mabanta, staff member of the National Council of Churches in the Philippines, who recently toured the United States as part of the Just and Lasting Peace Speaking Tour, explained the basis of the civil war in the country in an interview: “Why is there a civil war in the Philippines? We think it is the poverty, the historical neglect and the lack of basic social services. These are the reasons people wage war in the country.”
Kerlan’s choice to fight for land and rights in the NPA was his solely, and not ours to judge – especially as people based in the United States, a country that has long held a necolonial relationship with the Philippines. Our role is to decide how we will respond to the social and economic crisis that Kerlan and the Lumad have helped expose, and to oppose the role the United States has played in worsening the crisis. While the United States continues to maintain the Philippines as a military outpost with nine bases, and as long as the U.S. continues to fund the Philippine military and police responsible for human right atrocities, it is our duty to organize in support of Philippine sovereignty and against US interference. If we want to contribute to peace in the Philippines, we must hold the US accountable for it’s perpetuation of war in the country. We can begin to do this through fulfilling resolution 6118 and push for the Philippine Human Rights Act, HR 1433, a bill that calls for the suspension of US military aid to the Philippines.
Isaiah 59 reads, “The Lord looked and is upset at the absence of justice”; let us also be upset, let us be in solidarity with people in the Philippines, let us be God’s image bearers, and devote ourselves to push for the Philippine Human Rights Act and for peace in the Philippines.

Social Issues:
Political News In Hindi, Debates and controversies related to social issues, such as religious tensions and freedom of expression, have emerged.
