One of my mystery snails decided to parasnail and photobomb the shot when I was trying to take pictures of my new endler's livebearers that I had my local fish stores order for me. They got in yesterday!
They're so colorful and pretty -- I absolutely love them! I didn't want eleventy billion endler's so I got just males.
I also finished out my school of false julii cory cats. I went from 4 of them to 7. They're such characters. I'm definitely putting a school of cories into the 75 I'm setting up as a community angelfish tank, although I'm not sure which species of cories I'm going to go with. I was thinking possibly panda, depending on local availability.
I'm going to pick up the tank from Petco this weekend. The stand is already built. I also already got the substrate I need for a dirted tank. I'm going to cap organic potting soil with black sand.
The plants will be more complicated because of the weather. It's getting up into the 100s here in Houston, and the local fish store owner said that the plants he ordered were pretty rough when they came in. Most of the plants I want unfortunately seem to be a little harder to find locally, other than an Amazon sword.

hm.. really dreading the 5.5-hour-away move with my 20gal and 5.5gal aquariums. really should have thought this one through beforehand huh
#txt#i thought about it in the moment of course but shrugged it off#i can make it happen. it's gonna suck but i'll make it happen#ngl im tempted to give away the tetras beforehand bc ik they have the hardiness of flies.. :'o#n then maybe once i'm settled in the new place i would get more corys?#i have 5 bronze/1 false julii. they all school together but i want more false juliis to help the one be more happy#plus another bronze or two to round out the school#honestly idk what i was thinking getting tetras smh. i should have gotten more corys from the start :')

🌱, 🐾, and I’ll let you pick the last one 🎲
🌱: Green thumb or plant killer?
I'm just gonna assume aquarium plants count, cause I've never tried terrestrial plants before just aquatic ones. And if so yes, depending on what tank. I have a 55 gallon and a 20 gallon which I home to upgrade to a 29 soonish. The plants in my 20 are thriving and there's very little algae. I even managed to relegate some black beard algae, which is notoriously difficult to get rid of, to just one end of a rock. I could just pull the rock put and scrub it off completely but I actually kinda like how it looks. My 55 isn't as great and I'm having some minor algae trouble but that one's still a work in progress anyway.
🐾: Any pets?
Related to that last one, I have A LOT of fish. In my 20 I have 12 neon tetras, 2 corydora paleatus catfish (plan to get 4 more), 2 otocinclus catfish (plan to get 2 more) and a beautiful pearl gourami. The 55 has 24 zebra danios, 6 false julii cory cats, 4 reticulated hillstream loaches, 2 angelfish, and 2 german blue ram cichlids (plan to get 2 more). Obviously I also have Buddy, my Portuguese water dog/shi tzu mix. He still looks like a puppy but I've actually had him since I was 10.
🎢: Do I like theme parks/ fav ride
Yes yes yes yes yes very much yes. Admittedly the only theme parks I've been to are Disney Land and two separate Six Flags parks, unless water parks count, then it would be four Six Flags. I honestly haven't really gone on many rides at Disney Land since the last time I went I was still just a little kid so I couldn't go on many of the bigger things, plus my mom would have had to go with me and she doesn't really like that stuff. However when I first went to Six Flags: Magic Mountain I was significantly older so I could go on much more stuff. I never tried any of the really big roller coasters but I really liked the more medium-sized ones. My fav is a tie between Apocalypse and whatever that Batman themed on is called.

The 40 gallon was moved! It took me around 7-8 hours to tear it down, move it, and set it back up. Most of my cherry shrimp colony survived, along with a handful of pest snails. I have 6 mystery snails(2 more than I thought), 9 eye-spot rasboras(started with 10, there might be 10), 9 harlequin rasboras(started with 10, there also might be 10), and 4 false julii corydoras. I started with 10 corys, but they're just not doing well with my pH so I'm going to return them.
If I'm not overstocked(Im terrible at stocking), could you recommend some cute bottom feeders for a 8.2 pH?

1/6 survived, and the only survivor was the odd one out in the tank of "julii cories," (who were likely false juliis) and is already appreciably larger than them so idek what he is. i mean, definitely a cory, im just not sure what kind the 1st cory definitely had ABD. idk if all of them did, but they deteriorated so fast. yet the other one seems completely unperturbed, so im really suspecting an issue where i got them (it was a chain pet store, so) bc i did everything short of fully medicating the tank i feel so burnt out on the tank rn. ik ill have to get the remaining cory a school, but after that idk, im re-examining my stocking plans since it's no longer dwarf cories and that'll change things but at least my plants are taking off. awesome. that totally makes up for the feeling of killing everything im responsible for 👌

Gus begins his spin cycle.
Which attracts an audience.
Grounding is important after a spin set as spinning can be rather disorienting.
(Gus only spins when he gets over exited for an algae wafer. Most of the time he practices normal pleco behaviour. Which means he sucks rocks, and other materials.) :D

Gustifer messing up Wyatt's snail pile
"Hey, Julii, here comes Wyatt! Tell him I have been with you for the last 30 minutes, will ya?"
The evidence is scattered everywhere. Gus better hope Julii is persuasive. Wyatt likes his snails in a neat pile, as do I as it makes them easier to remove from the tank! :D (Pest snails only, not the Nerites, the Nerites stay.)

Installed a bubbler so that there would be more water circulation as this is a filterless tank.
The Cory Cats instantly had to check it out.
