Hello, friends!

I never made an official intro for myself, so I guess I’ll make one now.

Pls, reblog/and reply to this post to help boost this blog and support my writing. ✍️

Personal Stuff 🩷💜🩵

My real name is Teagan, but I like to go by Rue Jay Hamilton, Cosette Altair, Saga Rose, and Vanessa Night. Each pseudonym is catered toward a different audience, so for the sake of this blog, I’d prefer to be referred to as Rue, or Rue Jay.

I identify as bisexual or queer, and I am autistic. My pronouns are she/they/fae. I believe in God, but in a very progressive way (as in God is love). I also believe I was a faery in a past life, and I believe that all religions have their right to exist.

I’m a Gen Z American 🇺🇸 who took five years of French class and was in French Honor Society. I wouldn’t say I’m bilingual, as I still have to use WordReference to look up words, but I’m mildly conversational in French, chaotic in English, and eager to learn other languages. I’m a pharmacy tech in addition to writing, as well as an actor/actress, dancer for fun, singer/songwriter, and novelist.

Fun facts!

My music taste is unconfined. As long as it has a good message and beat, I love music.

I’m a Shakespearean fanatic — Romeo & Juliet is my favorite play.

I love Sarah J. Maas. I have most books by her.

I love the Descendants franchise. Cameron Boyce was my favorite actor in the series. (RIP Cameron Boyce 😔)

One of my favorite musical artists is Dove Cameron. My favorite song by her is Lethal Woman.

Another series I love is The Hunger Games. I’m currently reading The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, and I can’t wait for Sunrise of the Reaping. (Also: RIP Donald Sutherland 🪦)

A show I love is High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. My favorite character is Ashlyn (played by Julia Lester) because she’s so powerful in her character arcs. (Madlyn forever 😻)

I have a boyfriend (Taken 🔒❤️ 7/13/2024).

About My Writing!

I write a variety of fiction genres, but it mainly comes down to romance (contemporary/tragic/dark), plays, historical fiction, fanfiction, contemporary fiction , fantasy (high fantasy/dark fantasy/urban fantasy/etc), and occasionally sci-fi (dystopian).

The most common themes are love, self-discovery, and identity, with focal points on diversity, especially in the LGBTQ community. Serious topics can be found. Moral ambiguity has piqued my interest. There is a lot of drama and death, with some comedy. I call my stuff dark. Relationships are also central to my books.

I'll add a WIP intro later.

Probably not, if I’m perfectly honest. I’m truly abysmal at tagging. If I think about, I will. But more often than not I use the quick reblog feature.

I recommend using the tumblr filtering system to get rid of things you don’t want to see. Much easier than getting everyone you follow to tag something.

Traceless Event: Update

The body swap was met with varied responses. Some of the notable personages (NPCs, for reference) of the village took action immediately.

NPC Actions on July 10:

The Council Human Liaison Marnie Jeong (in Tiffany’s body) and her brother, Fire Captain Andy Jeong (in Mort’s body), were the first to take immediate action. They roped in an enthusiastic Council Werewolf Liaison Mort Donald  (in Andy’s body) and an unenthusiastic Police Chief Sam Hersch (in Paul’s body) after some persuasion from Carla (in Franz's body). While Sam worked out the administrative logistics of the swap, Andy led an impromptu task force of Mort and anyone who the two could get a hold of to re-establish the Village’s emergency phone tree since everybody had the wrong phones.

Council Merfolk Liaison Al closed his general store for the day, and worked closely with his swap Traceless Cafe Owner Griselda Martens to keep the café running. Griselda loudly told anybody who would listen that she woke up in a bathtub.

From 8:54 AM to 11:23 AM Traceless time, only the door leading from the café into the town was functional - all other doors from Traceless to other parts of the world were temporarily closed as TPC trained those in their body to be able to perform critical watcher duties. 

 From 11:24 AM to 11:56 PM Traceless time the doors leading to other locations were re-opened, but remained “closed” to humans who would normally be unaware to the point of being under a fog. Watchers and those swapped with them practiced their abilities by only allowing in supernatural being and humans aware of Traceless. Intermittently, doors to various locations were shuttered entirely as those swapped with TPC witches worked on maintaining the enchantments around Traceless. Paul (in Sam’s body) and Carla (in Franz’s body) taught many of those swapped with TPC witches like Franz (in Carla’s body).

Council Fae Liaison Laurel and Council Witch Liaison Ella (whom were swapped with one another) were delayed in the call to action. This was due to Ella’s well-known reluctance to owning a phone of any kind. This argument was freely known to anybody that passed the Village Square between 9:43 and 10:29 AM. After Laurel calmed down and Ella agreed to borrow a burner phone, they got to work. Laurel went to the café to help reopen the doors, and Ella collaborated with Tiffany (in Marnie’s body) to try to locate Ethan. 

Ethan has not been able to be contacted yet.

Mags does not appear to be in town this Saturday.

Implications for Characters

The door leading to different parts of the world is closed for about 2 and a half hours in the mid to late morning. Traceless Café is closed for most of Saturday, July 10th to humans who would typically enter under a fog.

 Characters (and swapped bodies of those characters) that work for the government, law enforcement or the fire department could be contacted at some point throughout the day by Andy, Mort, or a generic police officer. 

Griselda and Al traded phones, so employees of the café or those that want to speak to Griselda will hear Al’s voice without the Italian accent.

Random fact about me: Once a week I demand the people of my village to bring me chocolate eggs, even when it’s not Easter. There hasn't been federal executions during the transition period since the 1980's.

This disproportionately effects minorities, including POC.

People are literally paying Trump for pardons.

The reason why Texas is contesting the election and trying to get it overturned is for a pardon.

Ellie Quinn: was my show mama, She is also ridiculously talented and will always hold a special place in my heart since gave me my first kittening job and challenged me and believed in me to put acts together. Stella Chuu: I will show my ignorance to the cosplay community when I didn’t know who she was when I asked her to write “Donald Glover For SpiderMan” on my naked back in sharpie....She is super ridiculously sweet and down to earth and sweet baby jesus is she talented.After the show my friend came up to me fanboying that she was in the show and I realized “who she was”. Chastity Von Fae: one of the best Harley Quinns you will ever see, talented as hell (which really is redundant at this point since everyone was friggen stunning AF) and again one of the sweetest people Ive ever met. Fair warning, I’m down a pint of blood and feeling fae so I apologize if I come across a bit strange. @miilkyprism @donaldtheduckdad @itsliztheripper @peeka-boo-blogs

They meet by moonlight, Donald often has the night watch (the captain doesn’t like him much, between his wild temper, infamous name and incomprehensible accent.)

Of course Donald is in a foul temper, his uncle sending him cryptic messages, and Della gone silent. He stomps about the ship grumbling, catching the flicker of a tail in the moonlight.

It’s probably a dolphin, the locals say there’s a pod nearby but Donald has yet to see them.

His mood temporarily forgotten, he leans over the side, shining his torch over the water, seeing nothing but the ripples of tide and fish.

He continues his circuit, eyes ever watchful, hoping to catch a glimpse of a tail, or maybe a friendly companion in these darkest hours.

He’s not entirely watching where he’s going. And the ship is host to a batch of new recruits that aren’t quite ship shape yet. To the casual eye, in the dark, everything appears fine. It isn’t.

Donald trips over a loose line, the recruit’s work falling apart around him, something comes loose (Donald’s never quite sure what), it hits him in the back of his head, and over board he goes.

He hits the water hard, not knowing which way is up or down. XD

Daisy saves him.

The Little Mermaid AU:

Donald is a sailor.

Daisy is a mermaid.

Donald knows sign language.

Daisy is a mute mermaid.

Donald nearly drowns and is saved by a mermaid.

In return, Donald teaches his new mermaid friend sign language, and they spend six months together as friends.

At the end of the six months, Donald is transferred to another naval base, and as he’s on the ship to his next location, he sees a figure seated on a rock, waving goodbye to him.

“Thank you, you feather-brained, foul tempered sailor!”

“See ya, you mangy fish hag!”

His memories start to fade as he pulls further from the southern town. This is what happens when one encounters a mermaid, especially one who has lost her voice. Her feisty attitude, quick to the button temper, and stubborns becomes a faint glimmer in the back of his mind.

He doesn’t see her again until he returns to the sleepy, fishing town fifteen laters with four children and a treasure hungry uncle in tow.

“Ah cannae believe ye spent in this place! It hasn’t seen a hurricane since 1702!”

“Would’ve told you if you asked…”

When one of his boys fall into the river, he’s saved by an archivist eating her lunch nearby. Donald runs towards them frantically, fearing the worst, but Louie is perfectly fine if a little shaken. The currents can be crueled.

“What do you think you’re doing!?” 

“Th-thank you, ma’am!”

“You need to watch them! He could have drowned! These waters aren’t kind without it’s…”

“Without it’s what?” Huey asks…because all three of the boys know sign language to a certain degree with Huey being the most fluent. 

There’s something familiar about this woman. Donald can’t help but think this as he watches her expression shift from fear, anger, to quiet annoyance. As she marches off in the opposite direction, leaving her ruined lunch in the trash, he wants to say something — anything really, but his tongue is caught at the top of his mouth.

Silent.
