This cleanser has a low-pH formula that helps maintain the skin’s pH level. Maintaining the skin’s pH level is important because a change in the pH level can cause your skin to overproduce sebum or become excessively dry.

Thus, you need a cleanser like this that can gently wash off the impurities of the world without stripping your skin dry. Some of the impurities this cleanser remove is dirt, excess oil and dead skin cells.

After using the cleanser, my face felt squeaky clean and clear of excess sebum. I try to have it not directly contact my eye area for it did feel too strong for my delicate, dry skin there. However, if I foam it up with water first before circulating it around my skin, it felt fine. 

The cleanser have a minty, tea tree oil smell that is sure to wake you up. This cleanser is an acne care product so I would recommend this those with oily skin and acne-prone skin. 

All in all, I have not seen any breakout ever since I started using this cleanser.

My 10 Step Skincare Routine

To make this blog live up to its “theme”, I am sharing with everyone my skincare products and routine. I don’t do these skincare steps every night though since some of these products contain aha and bha, which is not very good if you use it all the time. But if you use aha and bha frequently, please use spf everyday to avoid sensitivity towards UV rays.

Step 2: The Face Shop - Green Tea Cleansing Tissue - moisturizes skin and takes off excess makeup

Step 3: Neogen - Biopeel + Gauze Peeling (Green Tea) - smooth skin after use and it’s dual sided as well

Step 4: son&park - Beauty Water (Toner) - use with cotton pads - it truly transformed my skin - MY HOLY GRAIL!

Step 5: cosrx - aha/bha clarifying treatment toner - another toner, but I only use this 2-3x a week - clears whiteheads and blackheads

OR Pixi - Glow Tonic Toner

- it’s a chemical treatment toner that peels off dead skin without you noticing it. you can use this if you want quick results.

Step 6: Nature Republic - The First Essence - calming on skin and it doesn’t break me out

The Face Republic Calming Spot Oint Gel is a gel spot treatment that contains Tea Tree Leaf, Salicylic Acid and Centella Asiatica extract. The gel has a subtle tea tree oil scent to it. When applied on the skin, it glides onto the skin easily. It feels very smooth as well.

I like the tiny sprout that allows the gel to be squeezed out easily without causing a mess.

I tried the Face Republic Calming Spot Oint Gel on 3 different pimples. 2 of the smaller pimples that had head and a larger pimple that was about to grow into a nightmare.

The smaller pimples disappeared the next day as the gel helped halt its growth process. I could tell the salicylic acid in the product was working as the fresh sebum dried out overnight.

The whole process for the pimple to be eliminated from my face took 2 to 3 days depending on its “ripeness”. Do note that like every pimple shrivelling process, the area around it can be a little dry so refrain from scratching it or you may accidentally scratch it off like I did to one of them.

Aside from the success of the smaller pimples, I tried the gel on a larger pimple as well. That pimple did not have a head and it was getting ready to evolve into one of those acne that will sit on your face for weeks.

After application of the gel, the potential acne nightmare was resolved. The gel killed the bacteria and cleared the skin in a day.

The serum had a subtle tea tree oil scent to it that goes off after it’s fully absorbed. It is easy to apply with the dropper design. The serum gets absorbed into the skin easily and the skin also feels smooth after absorption.

Since this serum is so versatile, you can choose to apply it on your trouble area or evenly spread it throughout your face. 

One of my concerns when it comes to products that contained tea tree oil is the product may be too strong for those with dry or sensitive skin. 

Since I have a combination skin type of oily and dry skin. Plus, my skin is starting to become more sensitive as I age, I felt that I was the perfect guinea pig. 

Thus, I tried the product on my skin for a week. After a week, my oily T-zone did felt more matte. The sebum that once occupied the T-zone calmed down. Usually, I get acne every month because of hormones but after using this right before the ‘acne period’, my face is as smooth as a baby’s behind.

I would recommend this for those that are facing acne-prone skin or are trying to control the sebum on your skin. Plus, it stimulates collagen production as well.

Upon application, the moisturizer felt refreshing on my skin. After absorption, it does not feel sticky. My skin felt dewy as well.

My mother and I tried the moisturizer for a week and we were blown away. The moisturiser is easy to apply and it spreads out on our skin easily. My mother have a dry skin type while I have a combination skin type of oily and dry skin. 

The Face Republic Cica Gel Moisturizer compliment both our skin types easily without us breaking out. It also did not feel oily on my T-zone, an important factor for oily-skin users.

All in all, we enjoy incorporating the moisturizer in our skincare routine.

In collaboration with Jeon Changha, a Korean model, influencer and TikTok Sensation, Face Republic have created a sun essence that protects your skin from the glaring sun.

The Purity Sun Essence is a suncare essence was developed from a non-nano technology that maximizes the of a physical sunscreen. This essence provides a lightweight layer of protection that blocks the UVA and UVB rays from our skin.

The non-nano mineral filter will give you a fresh finish and no white cast. Only the cleanest and purest ingredients are used to ensure that people with sensitive skin could use this sun essence as well. The sun essence also helps with anti-wrinkle properties.

Two of their main ingredients includes Zinc Oxide that meant this sun essence is suitable for sensitive skin and Niacinamide, a form of Vitamin B3 that helps oily skin and fades acne scars.

Face Republic X Changha, Purity Sun Essence SPF 50+ Review

The Sun Essence was cool and light when applied. It has a fresh wooden smell to it that diminishes over time. I enjoy the woody scent for new wooden furniture excites me.

When the sun essence is spread, you can see it disintegrating like liquid being spread out over a table. It was an interesting sight to observe. The sun essence dispersed easily plus, my skin absorbed it quickly. I like how it slightly glistered under the light while it was absorbing. Once it was taken in by my skin entirely, it does not feel thick nor sticky. It felt light and it did not leave a white cast on my skin as well.

Final Thoughts of Face Republic X Changha, Purity Sun Essence SPF 50+++ 

Face Republic's Purity Sun Essence is a great light-weighted everyday sun protection product if you are looking for a sunscreen that does not turn you white. It absorbs quickly, is not sticky after absorption and it is suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin types. The product is also lean and thin making it easily portable for one to reapply the sun essence throughout the day. 

If you are wondering is it necessary to reapply sunscreen every few hours, here’s the reason why. In my recent adventures to St John’s island, I did an experiment where I applied sunscreen to my whole leg in the morning and only reapplied the area around my knee cap at noon for it felt hot. By the end of the day, my leg looks like a zebra. With this experiment, this shows that you should always reapply sunscreen to prevent sunburn.
