Ashton and Laudna have such a special place in my heart. Laudna is so broken right now, and Ashton has been there, he understands her pain and he just. Is there for her. He holds her and lets her let it out. Tells her it's ok, she's not weak, just hurt. They mean so much to me.

"Why?"
...
"Why what? {Why what?}"
...
"Why'd you give her more power?"
"It must be done {It must be done}. For you {For you}. For us {For us}. ...The fate of the world {The fate of the world}. What else do I have to give? {What else do I have to give?} Except for myself {Except for myself}."
"You didn't have to do this. We fought so hard."
...
"I love you."
"I love you."
[The collar folds away.]
"I love you...what makes you think that might have changed? I love you."
[The shadows withdraw.]
"Why are you looking at me like that?"

prefacing this post with "i am aromantic" to give it context anyway i simply cannot stand when "i broke the world for us" is seen as sympathetic/aspirational/etc or ppl say x other tragic-but-otherwise-normal relationship would fit it. like i have very little sympathy to extend to a character that kills and tortures kids bc they couldnt stand the thought of their significant other dying

...kinda petty but wow oh wow i am happy that ashton did that because it saves us from all the "delilah is just a poor sad mommy that misses her husband and laudna is evil and power hungry" takes. thank you taliesin jaffe for taking that bullet. thank you.

GIDDY and clapping my hands! For Delilah talking! about! love!!!!! In both the most devoted and fucked up way possible!
Just earnest enough to make you feel it, and subtly tightening the noose! Because to Delilah love is focused and above all else and worth every sacrifice, no questions asked. If it isn't your sacrifice? Not even a thought!
'I don't want to hurt children. I love children,' says Laudna, knowing, knowing Delilah killed and hung children from a fucking tree for goals tangentially related to her love!!!

not watching but reading the tag, and - it feels really fitting that Delilah got turned into an arcane battery for Laudna when she's kinda the reason why Vax was turned into a divine battery for Lundinus
like this goes back to Wildemount when Delilah first lost Sylas and turned to The Whispered One, if she never accepted Vecna's help she would never have gotten Vax disintegrated which is what lead to him becoming a divine revenant in the first place
if only Delilah could have learned to stay in her own fucking lane
now she suffers the same fate as Vax in a way
fuck yeah! karma bitch!

okay but “this’ll protect orym” broke my heart. i can’t be mad at her because in her mind, this is the best thing to do to save her friends.

Oh you guys weren't kidding, the Ashton/Percy confrontation is fantastic
#critical role#c3#cr3x36#p#somebody said ashton went on the offense so hard that he accidentally dropped every defense#laid it all out for percy; where he's coming from; the miseries of his life; how angry it makes him#percy recognizing all that anger as something he knows al too well. he rarely got hot-headed about it; he didn't rage or shout#but he knows anger alright. he knows /hatred/ even. and he speaks from experience when he tells ashton to#try to make that anger into something that creates; that builds; that /makes/. and then defend that with all you've got#it's probably good advice. it's not hot air at the least.#and ashton being like ''fuck love and joy and hope and all that crap that's not why i'm here#begging for laudna's life at the doorstep of some lord. it's because there's something important here and she's important for it.''#like i mean he might be right or not but that's beside the point the point is that ashton cares about his friends SO MUCH even if#he thinks he's hiding it well#and i can't understand why some people are complaining about percy being an asshole i mean - first of all Duh. where have /you/ been#he's always known how to act righteous and condescending and come across rather coolly. but that's not even very relevant imo??#bc he absolutely has the right to take the stand he's taking i mean jesus#if /anyone/ has the right to say a hard no to delilah briarwood coming back to life in any capacity#it's percy. he's suffered more than enough at her hands to have that right and be foreceful about it#and i'm glad obviously that his isn't the last word spoken on the matter but all that still is true#also just the /juiciness/ of taliesin going up and shouting at his own old pc with his new pc. amazing.#love the layers of it. love how right and wrong they both are.

i really think that the hells have taken trust to mean something that it really isnt, and are all conveniently forgetting each others histories in order to push their preferred brand of "trust" without really trying to explain themselves
