What can I say, I think I finally get it. The problem is not whether she moved on with her life and was happy, it's the most natural thing in the world, what really bothers me and is not natural at all is that everyone, EVERYONE in the fucking world of VK has been able to continue with their life except for Kaname. Ruka, Aidou even Ai with her stupid crush on zero, but Kaname just can't. why? I understand that within the story there is no place for him to find someone else (although being a human without memories I don't see why not), but leaving that aside the fair thing for him is to find happiness in some way… but nooooo… always always tied to the memories of a woman who, although it is true that she loved him, for me did not love him enough, or maybe, just maybe, she did love him enough, but he simply loved her too much.

At the end of 143 chapters, this is it? Kaname is the guy who loved too much and there is no place in the human or vampire world for someone like that?

I remember a friend of me saying that Kaname should never have been human, because at the end of the day it's about being happy being who he is, and he is a vampire, but he was always alone and to be honest Yuki never fulfilled his physical or spiritual loneliness, Yuki was never enough, he knew that but he still loved her.

So here is my anger, if not even the person you love the most is enough to fill your existential void of the years, why then not love yourself enough and take one step at a time? In the end we know that Kaname blamed himself for every damn thing what happened, and Yuki never lived up to it, not because she was a bad person, maybe simply because she couldn't, because she never understood him, not even when she saw his sad and lonely past.

So at the end of the day I think that everything that Hino has sold us about two beings predestined to love each other, but who tragically could never be together more than in moments has been a total lie. Kaname was able to put up with all the shit that has come and gone in the more than 11 centuries of his existence, but he is not able to get over a woman like Yuki? Just thinking about it makes me want to cry.

As I already got it, I think I can say almost with complete certainty that our yume reunion is nothing more than that….A Yume.

Do not ask why because I'm not really sure either. angela would fucking hate me if I was the manager fr. I also had to restart halfway on the second because I forgot the username and password to my first steam account and had to make a new one. Library of Ruina. I stopped counting after 12. I would go out of my way to get every copy of each page possible and 1-5-15 of each card in the game and then just. delete save data and start again because the story is nice and I like abnormalities and i like card games. I also like doing stupid challenge runs to make things fun like base pages only (had to ban alriune and big and might be bad wolf's abno pages because they broken for this) or no passive attribution (the only challenge run i only did once because it sucked.) How did your selfship start? Is it more like Morita dating you and Ginji but Ginji not dating you or how does the dynamic works?

So basically it's a huge bundle of situationships all around, but I'll try to untangle it. Sure I wrote a piece about "how it all started" but I didn't explain how it settled down into the mundane, so here we go 💫🍀

So Morita's relationship with Ginji is The Relationship, they're business partners, but they have this double-sided pretending to be one-sided pinning: Morita has his romantic feelings and daydreams about dating Ginji, marrying Ginji and having his kids lmao, mostly just wants actual mutual romantic relationship with dates, dine and wine and roses on top, just to have something he can call official; Ginji on the other hand thinks they're doing exactly that, but every time Morita crosses the "too close to romance" territory, he feels scared to confirm anything or even acknowledge he feels the same way--

So basically they both spend time together as partners but closer, they have dates but call that official business, and they sleep together but call that one night stands.

Morita spares Ginji's feelings because he feels unwanted so he doesn't ever pronounce his love out loud; and Ginji spares Morita, thinking it's a lot easier for them to navigate it without unnecessary sappy talks and 'I love you's. Obviously there's always a chance this can be used against them as a blackmail, kidnapping situations and so on too-- so, in short, if Morita is so so ready to take the risk and just become someone's special person, Ginji's coward who thinks everything will be better off as it is and doesn't really get what Morita is not satisfied with, aren't they dating already? so what if he doesn't call it dating and making love, but “a table for two” and fucking?

anyway, enter ▆▆▆ (who's my sona+self-insert, I call it yume but also mob so y'know, a bit confusing but bear with me)

In this kind of situationship taking a toll on Morita it's easy to take advantage of his fragile "one-sided" admiration of Ginji. If ▆▆▆'d try to be an actual help he'd probably just explain how Ginji operates so Morita would get it and try figure things out, probably agreeing to the common ground and decide how to date on this thin ice and Ginji would end up so much happier too-- expect he doesn't care to be someone's fixer, that's Ginji's fault in the first place and he needs to step up his game if he wants Morita to continue being by his side. Fully knowing that, all ▆▆▆ provides for Morita is stress relief in a very cruel way, almost as an exposure therapy where he pronounces every single fear, inferiority complex and unnerving thought out loud to Morita's face, so he could navigate them with the help of the other person

But if someone spells out all of your weaknesses and sticks their fingers into your very complex emotional / romantic side of life, obviously you start feeling violated, your boundaries crossed and smudged in a way that leaves a bad taste in your mouth. So Morita sees ▆▆▆ as an enemy, but for someone who holds this much sensitive information about you there's no way you can leave them to their own vices too-- Ends up with Morita sticking around.

The condition was "entertain me, amuse me, and I'll treat you nicely". Except the "nicely" doesn't come, well, at least not in the form and shape Morita wants it to come. He ends up with a shitty relationship on the side where he has one more sin to hide from Ginji (obviously he wouldn't like Morita sleeping with someone), but also has small favours done for him, including the indulgence in this stupid roleplay which he can selfishly enjoy - ▆▆▆ pretending he's Ginji so Morita can enjoy himself once in a while without the burden and the judgement and the shame (maybe a different one).

And if it started as a way to sneak into Morita's pants first, it ends up in a disaster for both sides ofc. Morita gets frustrated with Ginji not answering his feelings (even though he does in his own way)? He sets a meeting with ▆▆▆ and asks him with teary eyes if they can kiss and fuck and hold hands and go to the bar and hug and do a quickie in the toilet stall, all with an exception he's calling ▆▆▆ Ginji, Gin-san, never ever wanting to think of the subtle differences and cracks in the facade that roleplay exposes

Because yeah, ▆▆▆ continues to do that because it's self-sabotage, because he too shares Morita's issues: he doesn't think he's someone if he's not useful- because how can you even compete with Ginji? He's the legendary underground fixer, he's Morita's savior and career goal - he's his special someone. ▆▆▆ is a shitty ex-yakuza who drifts from place to place doing small profits and wastes his life away trying to enjoy it somehow;;

While ▆▆▆ has a place next to Morita, he deserves that kiss only if he's a shiny polished mirror who knows exactly how Ginji could act with Morita if he was honest with him and himself and not burdened with any circumstances, so their relationship would finally be honest and open to everyone and the world…

So ▆▆▆ provides the third space for Morita to return to. They share a love-hate relationship which Morita cares enough to call dangerous, but it's actually the safest he has at that moment. Because he's not even considering ▆▆▆ his own person - he surely knows his temper and his love for tormenting his very soul, but Morita doesn't have feelings for him, he only uses him as a let out of his bottled up feelings and emotions. They end up mirroring Morita's relationship with Ginji in that sense… except, who's the ‘Ginji’ one? ▆▆▆, who cares for Morita enough to never address his feelings even in his own head but make a silly play pretend for Morita's sake again and again? Or the one who actually uses those services without a second thought spared to where this all comes from? It's stable, it's safe, they don't pronounce it out loud, just as it should be…

When Morita doesn't spend the night at some random hotel with Ginji, he goes to the cheap rented apartment where he knows he won't be kicked out from, where maybe the worst he can pay for that with is a cuddle with a guy he just doesn't get-- but at least it's always welcoming. If Morita doesn't know where to let his anger out, he excuses himself for a ‘business meeting’ in the park, except the ‘business’ is his unresolved romantic situation and the ‘meeting’ ends up with just as unresolved kiss or shoving each other until it turns manhandling (yeah they play fight if Morita cares to not knock the other out and keep his strength at bay), and all Morita has to pay for it with is running an errand of getting takeout food or buying ▆▆▆ cigarettes.

They eventually can be called roommates in that sense, except Morita never sees himself as someone else but an uninvited guest, who pays by small services like cooking and cleaning. He doesn't get what that sad smile, when he takes out the trash, is all about. And ▆▆▆ just cares for Morita enough to not explain anything for him (just as Morita does for Ginji, yes)

P.S. I hope it now makes sense why ▆▆▆ is ▆▆▆ and doesn't have a spelled out name too.

He doesn't have a fixed age too, because obviously it's connected to mine, which is still more than Morita's by 5+ years (enough to get his love for more experienced person and age gap relationships going too haha;;)

It's a stalemate! This has both the good and the bad ending, so if you'll finish GtK I'll probably cover it then! I hope that cleared out some things hehe

Mizuto Irido is in an unconventional predicament. His father remarried! That’s not the crazy part though. With the addition of a stepmother comes the addition of a step-sister. And that step-sister happens to be Mizuto’s ex-girlfriend from middle school, Yume Ayai (now Irido). Neither Mizuto nor Yume are digging this new setup. For starters, their prior relationship ended badly so neither one looks upon the other favorably. But both are going to put up a happy face to not upset their parents.

While they put up a happy face around their parents, everywhere else they get snippy with each other. And the biggest part is both of them claiming they are the older sibling. Kinda hard when both characters were born on the same day and year! But Mizuto and Yume both play mind games with each other to make the other feel inferior. Call it a poor-man’s Kaguya-sama! Okay, let’s see how these dysfunctional step-siblings mess with each other.

BETWEEN THE SUB AND THE DUB: This is currently airing on Crunchyroll. It’s been nearly a year and so far, no dub to come from it. I still enjoyed myself hearing people like Hiro Shimono and Miyu Tomita. Here’s what you might recognize these folks from.

*Mizuto is played by Hiro Shimono (known for Zenitsu on Demon Slayer, Connie on Attack on Titan, Dabi on My Hero Academia, Aoba on Durarara, Syo on UtaPri, Akihisa on Baka and Test, and Hiro on Ef: a tale of memories)

*Yume is played by Rina Hidaka (known for Filo on Shield Hero, Silica on SAO, Last Order on Railgun, Ririchiyo on Inu x Boku SS, Kohane on xxxHOLiC, Nemesis on To Love Ru, and Yamai on Komi-san)

SHIPPING: Mizuto and Yume had a prior relationship during their middle school years, but they broke things off and had quite the bitter resentment towards each other in the aftermath. Nowadays, it feels like they have a Kaguya-sama: Love is War mind game relationship, but they’re step-siblings instead of student council members. It’s not going to sound any crazier if I say it again. They have to act normal or concede defeat and be the little brother or sister in this relationship. But we do get some naughty moments between these two including unsettling scenes with the other’s undergarment.

Now what I didn’t see coming was with this friend of Yume’s, Minami. She loves Yume so much that she is willing to marry Mizuto so she can be closer to Yume. I am not sure what to make of this and I don’t feel I have the strength to deal with her. I’m just going to tell myself that Minami will end up with that other idiot in this series. I forget his name.

And then there’s Higashira! She posed a real threat to Yume, yet Yume ends up trying to help the girl out with getting closer to Mizuto and eventually confessing to him. Did it work out for Higashira? Fuck naw! Dude has other priorities in the love department and we all know what he wants.

Now, this series does show how the main duo fell in love and fell apart. They became a couple during their middle school years with some seemingly cute moments here and there. It’s just that when school, friends, and real life interfere, things took a turn for the worst for this relationship. And watching it, kinda made me feel annoyed. I’m not taking anyone’s side in this as I feel like both Yume and Mizuto are at fault for different reasons. But I’d like to chalk this up to both of these idiots were in middle school. They’re both hella immature at that age. Though, they both do stupid stuff during high school. Then again, it’s only been a year between both times.

ENDING: Before the ending, we caught a glimpse of what went down between Yume and Mizuto during their relationship. What happened and who was the first to mess up? Actually, it went south during their final year of middle school when both were placed in separate classes. After that, Yume made new friends and Mizuto was kinda resentful towards her. Then, Yume got jealous once when Mizuto talked to another female classmate. This was followed by months and months of the two not speaking to each other resulting in an agreement of breaking up. It was obvious that BOTH OF THEM regret not speaking up during that time. It becomes very obvious that’s how Yume was during a family reunion. They both have a momentary lapse of judgment and go back in time for a few minutes.

The final episode revolved around a summer festival. This is something Yume and Mizuto have history with as they were both together for one. We get constant flashbacks of their past fling and one flash that’s thrown at us several times is Yume crying alone because she got lost and Mizuto finds her. In this episode, it goes the other way around as Mizuto hides from his family and finds something solitary. Yume finds him and she kinda makes a decision. It looks like she wants to win Mizuto over as Yume Irido instead of her past self of Yume Ayai. Yeah, they kiss. They still act like they’re the older sibling and bicker. But is there something there? We probably will never know unless we get a second season.

This was something I wasn’t expecting. I came in thinking that this was going to be as trashy as Domestic Girlfriend. I come out feeling like I watched the first 13 episodes of Marmalade Boy if it was taking lessons from Kaguya-sama. As of now, both the manga and the light novel are still in publication so there’s still more to come from Yume and Mizuto. However, the manga, light novel, and anime were mostly seen as just an okay story. That’s how I’m at with this anime. It was okay. Had some good parts. Got annoyed seeing their middle school split-up. Okay, I’m starting to sound old and bitter here. Probably because I went through something similar at a younger age and look back upon it with a thick layer of cringe. That and I’m at that age where I see this and scream, “you damn youngins, get the fuck over it”. Or something like that! Decide for yourselves if you want to sit through this series or not. It’s a short series to get through.

Appearantly we would have had an reset soon enough either way. So just knowing that the world would end would not have been enough to stop it. I... don't want to defend Lloyd here, seeing how he became one of the most hated characters within a few days, despite being one of the most beloved before, BUT even if Lloyd would have known the end of the World was coming. Without the how and what was involved it would have been hard for them to do anything about it. So in a sense... going through this might have been necessary in order to ultimately stop it or know what wouldn't work to stop it. Them trying without knowing the details we will witness in a few minutes, might have fucked up things even more and too early for Agnes to work against the reset - you get that in a moment.

😍 What's the most attractive personality trait a partner can have to them?

Physically Yume thinks long hair is attractive!

Emotionally I think a must-have with Yume is someone with a sense of humor! If they can't joke and have fun and be themselves with them then whats the point.

🤣 What makes them crack up?

Stupid inside jokes between friends, memes, and occasionally slapstick humour. What makes Yume laugh is all over the place honestly, their sense of humour is fucking broken. (They also have a tendency to lean into dark/gallows humour. To cope)

😡 What's one surefire way to make them angry?

Off the top of my head, People being racist/sexists/assholes in general. Seeing people take advantage of someone less fortunate than them. Insulting their loved ones in a non-joking manner. They really can't stand random people touching them without permission/warning first. (with very few exceptions)

😄 When are they at their happiest?

When they are with the people they care about and can truly be themselves. And they feel that being themself is someone worth wild!

😭 What makes them sad?

Loneliness. Not having any money. Feeling like they don't belong. Feeling unwanted. Their friends being hurt and feeling like they can't help them.

Depends! On who you are and how they feel!
