THE DAY WHEN SPEEDFREAK ROCK 'N' ROLL, TWEE POP, & PROGRESSIVE POP/ROCK COLLIDED.
PIC INFO: Spotlight on Lemmy Kilmister of MOTÖRHEAD, Rachel Bor (guitar/vocals) of DOLLY MIXTURE, and Roy Wood (THE MOVE, ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA, & WIZZARD), undated, c. early to mid '80s (I'm guessing), definitely taken somewhere in the UK, though.

Les Fleur de Lys, 1967
Les Fleur de Lys have been crowned with inventing the genre of Rock n’ Roll known as “Freakbeat” & unfortunately, they seem to be criminally unknown. They released a string of singles on Andrew Loog-Oldham’s Immediate Records that seemed to never hit top of the charts. Their cover of the Pete Townshend penned psychedelic rocker “Circles (Instant Party)” absolutely crushes the original. (I’m sure even Pete would agree.) Funnily enough produced by Shel Talmy, who produced The Who’s earliest hits.

The Klubs - Indian Dreams (1968)
I'm not sure how I came upon this incredibly catchy rarity by the Klubs, a British psych group from Birkenhead (across the Mersey from Liverpool). They don't seem to have caught many breaks in their career, only releasing one single. This comes from a collection of recordings released in 1999.
