Preview of something I'm writing
*some FNAF Movie Spoilers ahead*
Keep people out and keep the place clean, Mike did that, however that “counsellor” neglected to mention he had murdered five kids and hid their corpses inside the animatronic performers of the pizzeria and they were murdering people.
Actually he was now sure that strange face ripping torture device in the parts and service was a creation of Afton, the animatronics probably didn’t know how to operate it and what it did.
Mike was still unclear on things there but he couldn’t get answers anymore, not like he could in the first place, the animatronics seem to tolerate him at the least, if only because of Abby, even when they weren’t influenced by Afton, they didn’t like him, he got that vibe based on the fact they would stare at him with some sort of apprehension.
Or maybe it was just because they didn’t trust adults at all.
He couldn’t fault that, however they should have realized he was at least a good brother, or maybe the Afton fog was too heavy on them and tinted their vision. He wasn’t sure how it all worked.
He was surprised he wasn’t questioned about the pizzeria collapsing, he realized it was likely he was working off book, could be likely, and this was a dark realization, that he wasn’t actually working, but bait that Afton had sent, knowing the animatronics would eventually get him, that “high turnover rate” looked really suspicious now that he looked back on it.
“No one is taking care them anymore, can we go visit them?”
Mike didn’t say no but he didn’t say yes to Abby either, the more and more he thought about it, he felt more sad, the animatronics were kids who had their lives stolen from them, and to top it off, their free will was removed when Afton was around, losing life was bad enough, but they also lost agency.
He tried not to think about it, it gave him nightmares.
“Do… Do your friends visit anymore?” Mike had asked Abby a few weeks ago, knowing the ghost children had lurked around previously.
“No, they don’t anymore, not since the bad man came back,” Abby answered.
Mike nodded.
“He really hurt them Mike, did you see how angry they were at him?”
“Yes I did.”
“I hate him too.”
He was more connected to them then he realized, in the sense that Garett was a victim of Afton also, he had pondered if Garett’s ghost could be around but he wasn’t sure and he didn’t want to needlessly traumatize his sister, as he wasn’t the only one having nightmares.

the fnaf movie cast & crew on movie!vanessa:
2022 PRE-PRODUCTION CASTING CALL FROM 'NEW CHARACTER DETAILS FOR BLUMHOUSE'S 'FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S' FILM' (via Geek Vibes Nation):
Female supporting lead, VANESSA, 20s "Vanessa is a police officer who shows up during one of Mike’s work shifts. While leading with a bright and sunny disposition, Vanessa has a keen understanding of the dark history and inner workings of the restaurant. Not wanting to reveal too much of what she may know, she works to help Mike survive the night."
TAMMI & SCOTT IN 'UNIVERSAL PICTURES PUBLICITY: FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S PRODUCTION INFORMATION APPROVED':
Tammi, in turn, was wowed by [Elizabeth Lail]. “Vanessa in many ways was the most complicated character to inhabit,” Tammi says. “She’s a cop with a hidden agenda. Elizabeth did an incredible job finding the authenticity within Vanessa, not turning her into a caricature, but really giving her dimension and empathy. She had to be strong, but also exhibit softness and vulnerability. It’s not an easy thing to do, and Elizabeth nailed it.” Game creator and film producer Scott Cawthon saw Lail’s performance as a promise fulfilled. “Elizabeth Lail was so genuine in her portrayal of someone who was strong on the outside but had a lot of pain and confusion inside,” Cawthon says. “She was amazing. Very often during her takes I would text Emma and remind her that I take full credit for selecting her to play Vanessa.”
TAMMI ON MIKE & VANESSA'S RELATIONSHIP, IN 'FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S DIRECTOR ON LACK OF GORE & SEQUEL PLANS' (for Variety):
We meet both Mike and Vanessa at really lonely points in their lives. They’ve both had to bury really significant childhood trauma deep down within themselves in order to get through their day-to-day lives. In Mike’s case that’s taking care of his younger sister, and in Vanessa’s case it’s putting on this front as a cop while still trying to be protective of someone very close to her. There’s something that those two characters see in each other, both said and unsaid, that is a recognition of trauma and a unique experience they both underwent in different ways. There’s been a shared path that they’re able to connect on in a way that is very unlike them being able to connect with anyone else. That yearning for companionship and a shared understanding of each other’s past is the main thing that draws them together.
MAKEUP DEPARTMENT HEAD ASHLEY LEVY (on Instagram):
INSPO: FNAF style, *yet* again. Up next is Vanessa. Drawing from the quiet simplicity of Simone in “The French Dispatch”, the brooding strength of Julia in “The Watcher”, and the pure fortitude of Dani in “Midsommar”, Vanessa reflects a quiet purity with an undertone of mystery.

Mike x Sleepy s/o
A gift for the very lovely @raglansragdoll ♥︎ 🤝 hyposomniacs in crime
Before Dating
Oh you two definitely snooze on like. Every "date" (watching TV after Abby has gone to bed). Mike swears up and down he wasn't snuggling you but you wake up to his firm arms tight around you
If you yawn, he will yawn. You tease each other for making the other sleepy. Jokes on you both you're always sleepy.
"Are you up" "yeah" "I texted you that three hours ago"
He's shy to ask, but he does prefer when you come over and sleep with him. It helps with the nightmares and Trauma™ (he'll pretend it's just so you can babysit Abby)
In a Relationship
You both fucked up the other's sleep schedule. You work the day shift, he does nights. You're both sleepy all the time but refuse to rest unless it's that small window of overlap
Mikes bed is soooo boring before you came along. Now it's full of fluffy, warm blankets and pillows and plushies. (Abby is a smidge jealous)
The winter time is prime snuggle n snooze time
Mike often kisses your temple as you begin to nod off. He does it more often than not that it's almost like your "lights out" button
Hear me out: sleepy good morning/night kisses
...that may or may not lead into sloppy sleepy make out sessions
Mike saves up some extra pocket change to get nice bedding since you sleep over all the time now. He gets all shy and pretends he didn't do it for you but he totally did
First Christmas together he gets you a big stuffie
He also is shy to admit it, but your snuggles are the best hands down and he actively cannot stop thinking about snuggling you and napping when he's away from you.
(He loves that his bed also now smells like your soaps and/or perfume)

I have a thought/theory that the kid who asked for Abby, the kid who was in Golden Freddy, is indeed the equivalent to Cassidy in this world. He is the vengeful spirit, and boy does he seem more vengeful than the others

the fnaf movie cast & crew on matthew lillard's performance:
OFFICIAL CHARACTER DESCRIPTION FOR STEVE RAGLAN:
A smug career counselor charged with helping Mike find a job, Steve Raglan has zero sympathy for the burdens of the unemployed. Played by horror legend Matthew Lillard, star of the original Scream, Steve seems to take a perverse pleasure in forcing a desperate person, like Mike, into a situation that’s less than ideal. It’s Steve who suggests the night guard job at Freddy’s to Mike, and who then bides his time, like a spider, until Mike reluctantly agrees to take it.
TAMMI & SCOTT IN ‘UNIVERSAL PICTURES PUBLICITY: FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S PRODUCTION INFORMATION APPROVED’:
“Matthew Lillard was terrific,” game creator and film producer Scott Cawthon says. “There was a long list of people we were looking at for this role. I was leaning toward Lillard early-on because I had great memories of seeing Scream in the theaters like twenty times with my roommates in college, but when a close friend of mine told me what a great guy he was in real life and how he took such good care of his fans at conventions, I knew he was the right person for the job. I told Matthew on the phone during our very first conversation that after the movie comes out, no one will even be able to imagine anyone else for the role, and I stand by that.” Landing the actor was a coup, says director Emma Tammi. “Getting Matthew on board was just incredible,” Tammi says. “He brought so much zaniness and electricity into the mix, and he had such attention to what Five Nights fans would want to see.”
'MATTHEW LILLARD ON "HUMBLING AND EXCITING" FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S' SUCCESS AND CREATING AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCES FOR FANS' (in The Hollywood Reporter):
CULLINS: For people who are not familiar with the game, how would you describe your character? LILLARD: I play a character that is living in plain sight in the world, and he is a horrible monster. Toward the end of the film, when my daughter can’t handle a situation, I have to step in and take over. I do not accomplish that goal and end up meeting my demise. It’s the first step in a journey that has this rich canon that spans multiple video games. I play a monster who, at the end of the day, gets his comeuppance and is thrown into this horror realm that he created. The hard part about playing this part is the pressure I put on myself to honor the fans, to deliver a great performance in an iconic role. There are millions of kids worldwide, and people that started playing as kids and are now adults, that have an expectation that this film will deliver on a really great level. So, being this iconic bad guy, the amount of pressure I put on myself to not suck is pretty extraordinary. That’s the hardest part.
TAMMI IN 'FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S FILMMAKER EMMA TAMMI TALKS THE "LOOSE ENDS" TO TACKLE IN A SEQUEL' (for The Hollywood Reporter):
DAVIDS: Before and after the reveal, I did catch some Stu Macher/Scream vibes from Matthew. I recognized that familiar live wire that he plays so well. Did you encourage that? Or did he just know instinctively that this guy warranted a bit of the same crazed energy that Stu had? TAMMI: Gosh, it feels like catching lightning in a bottle with Matthew because he just brings so much to the set and in the moment. And on that day in particular, we were just trying a bunch of different things for a bunch of different takes, and he was really coming alive in that [Yellow Rabbit] suit for the first time. Of course, we’d done some rehearsals with that suit, but it was a whole other deal once the camera was actually rolling in the properly lit pizzeria. So he was just going for it on every take and doing something different and really exploring in the moment. We just needed to make sure that we were there to capture it all. So, yes, there was definitely a back and forth between the two of us in terms of trying different things and really maximizing his menacing movement in that suit. But at the end of the day, he was just bringing all of his brilliance and improvisation to the table, and we were so lucky to be rolling on it.
LILLARD IN 'FNAF: FROM GAME TO BIG SCREEN' (DVD Bonus Content, via YouTube):
I've been really jonesing, like really coveting an opportunity to get a chance to get back into the horror genre. Getting a chance to work with Emma has been lovely. I literally, when I'm in that costume I'm blind, and so I rely on her like very few performances I've ever had in my life, to help me... sorta craft this character on the fly, physically in how we're telling the story and where we're at in the lore, and how that applies to-- y'know, all of the information that's out there and available, it all comes through her [Emma Tammi] and she fills us with what we need.
