Dont even. get me started. on the past two months ALONE. what has been HAPPENING. so much is going on i havent even had time to properly lose my shit over the latest Moose Master. The one where Amangela are specifically tormenting each other and being . absolutely ridiculous for like an hour straight. I havent even HAD TIME FOR IT. it just got drowned out by things like "amangela as sarah christ and angela running around the office finding people together" and "amanda wrote amangela fanfiction" LIKE HELLO. They are partners in "learning video games" and also true crime girlies and also just. Always attached at the hip when together??? We're roughly a year into me getting into Amangela now and fucking hell?? what. a year??? sorry this isnt super coherent i just. cant believe we're all living in an amangela world 😌😌😌😌😌😌😌😌😌😌😌 2T1L was this year???? all the livestreams w/ them??? angela on smosh mouth SO many times?? smosh merch shoot hug? sometimes amanda sees angela and just falls apart? Anyway. on that note. for the third q. realistically . a lot of the nsfw scenarios we've chatted about probably SHOULD fall under most insane/freakiest because. uh. Well. but somehow smut scenarios get placed into a different box in my head Because Smut Logic.

Outside of smut, that, and. the various angst scenarios that i am Very Partial To (amarasha fwb/amangela angst aus forever in my heart). I guess it depends on the definition of "insane".... In terms of complexity the charasha spies AU would be a nightmare to pull off but a lot of fun if I could. In terms of really fucking up dynamics........ toxic amangela aus. are. well. Those are unfortunately. trickier to justify in a "realistic" au but. god are they. compelling, both for the amangela AND the way it can ripple out to courtmangelrasha.................................. 😌😌😌😌😌😌😌😌 :D

(counting smut though... freakiest is arguably either nsfw moose master or the mat scenario bc. well. well. yk. most insane might be clone au bc. oops. ☠️ oh god wait pollen au.... fuck.)

Also on a high level i am eternally able to work off of sub/downbad amanda oops.

god. what a hard q. you might know best already 😅 but outside of that. some permutation of FWB within courtmangelrasha that gets Messy™ and significantly worse before it gets better would be. so tricky to write. But could be SO good.

optionally the hide and seek video HAS set my brain off about Sarah Christ/Angela. Do I have a plot for this idea yet? no. do i have some Vibes. Perhaps.....

you know what stings me the most about sword af if they are doing this audio only thing because they don't get that much revenue back? (which I and lot of other people are assuming, and that's another thing that bothers me about smosh and how they handle things: they don't tell us the reason why, they just do things and don't explain the reasoning behind and then never talk about it again but that's for another day) they may not get an equal amount of views as others games videos (and I think a lot of that came from instead of taking the excitement fans had when it started and releasing the episodes faster they went in the opposite route: making it be biweekly. that time without new content made some of the excitement died down) but they had a very passionate loyal fanbase. like how many fan works have we see about these characters? fanarts and edits and fics and cosplays. and yeah it may be a smaller amount than they are used to but the fans that enjoyed the series were so loud in their love. it's a shame that if this is the reasoning behind they are telling these fans that the love and passion doesn't matter. that at the end of the day loving what you are doing (like the cast does with these characters) or what you are watching don't make a difference If it's not going to get you enough money.

and I also totally agree with you about having the fans help and such. any time they do a charity live stream they raised so much money, which for me says that the people that watch their content would love to help them make the stuff that they love. like i'm sure some would love to have merch of their favorite characters in sword af. some would love to help get them the tools needed to make the best out of their beloved series.

with audio only we lose so much of the reaction and emotions that these talent actors can bring to the table. without even mentioning people that are hard of hearing or have auditory processing disorders. like me for once, english is not my first language and I learn all by myself meaning that sometimes I need help of the body language and expressions as well as captions to help me truly get what they are saying. you can't do that with a podcast. at least not one without visuals.

I totally agree with them making it bi-weekly killing a lot of the hype around it.

So many missteps with it and it still has such a great fan-base. (I'm seeing red again)

The money excuse is something that I don't even want to entertain. They KNOW that the fan-base is willing and able to fund most anything they want to do (if they ever decide to crowd fund that is..) so that's why I'm so confused about why they went this route?

It just feels like they don't care enough to put in that much effort, which hurts me. I can only give them so much leeway for fumbling Sword AF...

(the biggest problem is how they are going about it, if they had explained why they couldn't do it for whatever reason I could at least respect the fact they explained it, like they actually cared. But they obviously don't)

There's so many reasons why having visuals helped tell the story, it's so maddening even thinking about how disparaging it is they got rid of it.

But, since the year isn’t quite over yet, I thought this might be a nice time to reminisce a little bit. Therefore, the final question of the Smoshblr December Asks Game:

What are your favourite smosh-related memories of 2023? 💖

My favorite Smosh-related memory? Well, idk, I read a really great fanfic, but it was a bit out there, a bit too sentimental and unrealistic... it goes like this:

Friendship always wins

The sun scorched the suburbs of Sacramento. The neighborhood looked like if a stock photo had a heroine problem. Bored out of their minds, two sixth graders got grouped together for a school project.

"Here, let me draw some turds on the trash pile."

"I'll add flies."

"Hehehe, yeah that looks better."

The two kids, Ian and Anthony, connected through their shared humor, which ranged from Beavis and Butthead to Home Alone to Southpark, and to whatever was on the internet in that godforsaken time pre-2005.

The oldest one, Anthony, came from a broken home. He had to grow up fast and take care of his siblings and mom. The only times he could really be a kid and fuck around, was with his best friend Ian. Feeling nurtured by Ian's mom and dad, and constantly laughing at Ian's jokes, his happiness was there, with Ian. He could get through working hard, as long as he had Ian to go back to and have fun.

Their nerdy friend group were all into internet humor and Anthony came up with the idea of having a forum for them all to shitpost on and share their creations and collaborate.

But then he got sick. Really sick. He couldn't go to school, had to stay home for six months. He felt so isolated, not seeing his friends, most of all Ian. But Ian showed up at his house with a get well soon card. It was signed by everyone from his class. He could cry, he was so happy with this symbol of friendship. It kept him going the rest of the months. He put his time and energy into coding and learning how to do graphic design.

Smosh was born and it took off. First the website was just for them; Ian, Anthony, and their friends. It had stuff like articles, memes and videos. But soon the whole school was frequenting the site. News traveled outside the school even, and before they knew it, Smosh was an internet phenomenon. After they graduated, Ian and Anthony chose to keep the website going. Just for fun. And they got some money from merch they would distribute themselves.

One day, they saw that one of their videos was pirated and hosted on some new platform: YouTube. That gave them an idea: why not host all their videos there? It was free after all. Being at the right place at the right time, with the right kind of humor and the right kind of raw talent, Smosh was propelled to be one of the biggest YouTube channels there were. They even became the biggest one. However, with success also comes vultures, ready to take everything from you...

A company introduced themselves to Ian and Anthony and promised them the world: give Smosh to us, and you will only have to worry about making videos. We will take care of everything else. It sounded too good to be true. And sadly, it was. For even though at first, Ian and Anthony had more fun than ever, coming up with bigger and funnier videos than ever, they soon found out they were not in control anymore.

Anthony, who had always fought to stay in control of things; his family, his health, his whole life... it was very hard to see his creation being contorted and mutilated into something he didn't want it to be. And he grew to hate it. That hate spread everywhere, even towards his best friend, who kept trying to tell him "man, let's take the losses and be happy we have this job, we could have still been in Sacramento with nowhere to go."

But Anthony had had it.

"Ian, come with me, let's start a new channel, just the two of us."

"Anthony... I can't. It doesn't make any sense business wise. I know it's not ideal, but please, Anthony, stay?"

After years and years of putting his all into the company, Anthony couldn't do it anymore. He quit Smosh, and a shockwave went through the entire fandom that had built around it.

Smosh was still going. But you see, money and power got involved, and Ian and Anthony had lost sight of each other... they tried to hold on, you could see it clear as day, but they were ripped apart by the greed of the soulless company, which is a tautology, if you think about it.

Both guys were heartbroken. Still sneaking glances at each other, but not able to speak. Too much had happened between them.

And then the company went bankrupt and Smosh was in mortal danger. Ian, who had fought to keep the brand alive ever since Anthony left, fought as hard as he could to find someone to buy it, who wouldn't just sell it off for parts like an old car. Luckily, a YouTuber duo who knew Smosh from afar, stepped in and saved the day. Thanks to them and to Ian, Smosh survived. But was it really still Smosh? What was Smosh if it wasn't Ian and Anthony?

In the meantime, Anthony had rebooted his personal YouTube channel and through trial and error found success. Nothing like Smosh, of course, but impressive nonetheless.

Apart from each other, Ian and Anthony persevered. But they were still heartbroken and in need of something. That something was each other of course. And finally, years later, they met again. And they were both surprised. They had both healed and grown enough to see each other and talk freely, like adults. And they were surprised to see how well they still clicked.

It was like they were the same friends they had been all those years ago, but eve better. The slogan they had come up with all those years, finally rang true again, more than it had ever done. Friendship always wins.

And as they reconnected more and more, one faithful day, one of them said..

"what if we bought Smosh?"

And at that moment, their family was no longer broken, they were reunited and Anthony suddenly had a lot more 'kids' to take care of. But he was so happy, so happy to be with Ian again. He was finally fulfilled.

I’ve been watching the videos Smosh has posted since they announced the Anthony and Ian own it again and I’m feeling so many things.

I hadn’t realised how impactful this channel has been on me and my childhood until they were talking about all the old videos and i was just overwhelmed with nostalgia.

Like, I was watching them when I was 12, and now I’m 21. The first YouTuber merch I ever bought was a smosh games tshirt. I owned their songs on iTunes! They shaped my sense of humour and my love for video games.

Seeing these friends reunite and remember their love of creating together is so special, and it’s so cool that they are sharing that with us.

yes i have a baseball tee with the "questionable quality humor" design on it which i got mid 2010s (i love the design but i unfortunately got it in a too small size so it's kinda dysphoria inducing 😭). and they had a deal at the time i ordered it where they sent an extra random piece of merch along with the order for free so i also have a kinda silly looking tshirt based on the assassin's creed 4 song that has text that says "cause i'm a pirate" 😭 cannot wear that one in public

why yes i do 8) but i already kinda go over that in my pinned post so i don’t feel like typing it all out again lol. as of late though my brain has been Consumed with spourtney, spommy, and shaynse among the expected others. and more tbh

14. What is your favorite 'era' of Smosh?

truthfully it is the current era but also including early 2023. i think when let’s do this was airing it was the most consistently i was having fun with smosh uploads ever. i see the current era as basically the early 2023 vibe but part 2, though anthony returning was certainly a very high point despite ldt ending 🤧 tho im NOT gonna lie 2016-2018 smosh, particularly for the pit uploads and general cast dynamics, comes in 2nd for me. bc im a nostalgic bitch

15. What castmember do you think you are most like?

HONESTLY. IDK… maybe courtney due to the Queerness, nonbinarism, humor style, fashion style (kinda, im not as fem as them), and history of parasocial tendencies and ability to get Extreme joy out of witnessing people being cute and affectionate with each other. our joint ex-larry shipper slay… but also tommy for the Anxiety and queerness and humor and love for noise music <3 (can u tell theyre my favs)

something i find FASCINATING though is that i VISCERALLY relate to shaynes specific social anxiety about Emails and avoiding them in a cycle bc u get scared u missed something important so u just avoid them more 😵‍💫 when i first heard him say that i went BONKERS bc what other fucking celebrity who deliberately puts themselves in the public eye would be that dysfunctional about that 😭 idk i just felt seen… (granted my avoidance issues are Much worse than that and affect way more facets of my life haha but. yeah)

aahhhh lovely question!!! well this year was the year that i really got into smosh. for a few years i would only watch try not to laugh when it came out, and just ignore everything else lol. but this year i really got on board and now i watch everything :”) it’s nice having something new that’s still comfy to watch every day 💖

obviously the biggest thing was anthony coming back of course. which was SOOOOO amazing!!!! i remember watching them back in the day and i knew he left and was sad about it. so when they announced he was returning i was over the moon!! and ian really does seem so much happier and more confident, it’s wonderful to see.

another highlight for me is 100% sword af. i dabble in dnd and i love the legend of vox machina, so i was STOKED that my beloved smosh gang was gonna be doing a campaign!! it was also crazy timing for me. because i had JUST finished binging BAF legacy, (for the first time, it was one of the last things i watched to catch up on recent content), having No idea that in just like a week or two, they were going to announce sword af. incredible timing. and i ADORE sword af and i am still wondering when on earth they’re going to have merch!! but anyway

ALSO SMOSHMOUTH CAME OUT AAAHHH!!! i loooove smoshmouth. i’m not a podcast person in the slightest but i will gladly sit and watch shayne and amanda talk about genuinely anything for an hour, always. those two have very easily become my favorites (shayne already has been for years, but now amanda is a real close second) and i’m sooo thankful for that show. i think it’s perfect.

there were so many funny moments and so many times that i was laughing so hard i had tears in my eyes. i love all those silly geese and all the fun dynamics amongst them. i love the shayne guessing things series and the don’t win mario party vids and the trivial pursuit try not to laugh. i just love watching these goobers do silly things together!!

The Local Shooter Vs. Scrappy Flako

(LS) Goodmorning and thank you for being apart of this great come up, for the people who don’t know by now we got Scrappy Flako today, can you go ahead and tell us a bit about yourself? What do you do? Where are you from?

(SF) Hi, thank you for putting me on, I’m Ivan Munoz, but you can call me Scrappy Flako. I do a podcast here in Phoenix where I interview local creatives that do music, photography, videos, etc. Any art of form is welcome on my podcast where we can discuss and learn from each other. I also model and I’m just an overall creative dude that likes to try something new. I was born in Phoenix, but after kindergarten I moved to Yuma then came back to Phoenix after freshman year of high school. So Phoenix and Yuma are a part of me.

(LS) How do you juggle being a producer, a rapper and also a talk show host all in one? Like do you decide when you wake up which one you’re gonna focus on more that day or how do you choose?

(SF) I don’t really consider myself a rapper and/or producer only because I know people take those careers way more seriously than me and are better than me too. I’d say my beats are still amateurish at best, and I rap just have fun on beat. Which is why I’m making Food City Gang. A fun project that people can enjoy and laugh at the dumb bars I spit out. I definitely prioritize the podcast first because it’s the reason why people follow me and it makes me happy that everyone is interested in this passion project that’s becoming something more than what it is. So I give it the attention and care it deserves because the podcast has brought me a lot of beautiful people in my life.

(LS) What came first for you music or YouTube?

(SF) I think Youtube came first. When I was in middle school I’d always watch Smosh, FreddieWong, or even flash animations that were funny as hell. My first videos from middle school are still on my channel, alongside the podcast videos, and leave it as a memory so people can see I’m still that kid with dreams.

(LS) You’re very open with your musical side, you’ve dropped a couple bangers in my opinion, and also you recently played your beat tape which was fire on your live stream! When did you start getting into that side of the creative lane?

(SF) I’ve always been into music. I picked up guitar when I was in middle school as well and I learn a lot of metal songs, video game songs, and anime theme songs too. Time went on and I just explored other genres of music, then started falling in love with rap beats. Especially lofi and boom bap because I just love the drums and jazz chord progressions. The community here in AZ is really supportive, and I’ve always been really shy about my creative side but now I’m being more open about my stuff, even towards people I meet in public. I would just keep to friends and that’s it.

(LS) As far as the “Scrappy Flako Talk Show” you have been growing very rapidly and have had some remarkable talent on there like Saiah, SirenSings, Pariah Pete & More! How and where did you get the idea to start a podcast in your moms house?

(SF) So I actually pitched the idea to Pariah Pete to interview him. Pete and I used to work together at Chipotle and he would show me his music and I would fuck with it. Later on, he’d start doing shows and I would always go to them because it’s cool seeing a friend doing his passion and seeing him get the love he deserves, but even then I want people to know who Pete is and the other talented creative minds here in AZ. I’ve always had studio equipment in my room but I wasn’t doing anything with it. So when I saw podcasts like Joe Rogan or H3H3, I just said to myself “let’s use the equipment for podcasting and just have fun with it.” There was nothing to lose if I tried, but I did want it to be a good podcast that is presentable and somewhat professional. I made it into an “actual” podcast as much as I can, so when someone sees it they think “Oh hey this looks pretty legit. I’m interested.”

(LS) You’re currently in the midst of getting an office space? How is that for you? Does this mean your talk show is being taken to the next level or what’s the idea behind the office space?

(SF) The office is gonna bring so much to the table for me. I'm going to be able to do much in that office because of the space and also that it’s not in my mom’s house anymore. So anything goes in that office. The current podcast room was pretty small and I also want to interview bands or groups of people so that office is perfect for it. Of course, this is gonna take the podcast to a new level, but I’ll have a lot more creative freedom for myself and I’ll be doing other kinds of shows without having to worry about anything. The office is gonna be a creative space that’s gonna be like The Cave from Kenny Beats, but there’s gonna be more to it. Also, it’d give my mom peace of mind since strangers aren’t going to be in her house anymore.

(LS) What’s the next move for you Scrappy? More music? More streams? Another beat tape?

(SF) I’m gonna slow down and put the podcast on hiatus so I can get it ready for the office. I also need to do highlight clips for the podcast. Food City Gang Mixtape is in the works and it's gonna be me, my homie Angel Cabrera, and my other friend Ghost Diego who’s actually gonna be the beat producer for the project. As well as some features here and there. We’re gonna try to get it done by summer and we’re also going to make music videos for that project as well. We want to go all out on this project, but have fun with it and let everyone else enjoy it too. Maybe we can host a show at Trunk Space because I would love to see people moshing to BODIES. Other than that, I’m getting back into modeling so I gotta stay in shape and I’ll just have fun being creative.

(LS) Being a person who interviews many talents from the valley, what’s your take on the music scene in Arizona and what do you think it’s missing?

(SF) I think the AZ scene is fine the way it is. There’s a lot of love and support here and I don’t really see any hate or toxicity in the community. I think the scene just needs to keep growing, keep improving on their craft, and keep pushing as it is because we shouldn’t wait for labels, radio shows, or hand me downs when we are capable of forging our own career. It’s good that we’re making a name for ourselves and doing the things that make us happy. I fuck with some local talent more than the mainstream shit. I went to see Pete open for Doja Cat, not see Doja perform after Pete, you know? Good show though. I think what the scene needs is to still help each other out. I still feel like it’s a little bit of “every man for himself” mentality going on because people don’t want their ideas stolen, which is okay, but creative minds should try and lift each other up more. Feed off each other's energy and learn from it. What I do see a lot is artist’s personal friends and family don’t really care about their career, until they start making waves, but making waves can be hard when everyone is doing what you’re doing. So I try my best to show every artist the credit they deserve by at least checking out their music and maybe even shouting them out. Love like that can go a long way

(LS) What’s your main focus at the end of the day creative wise? Do you plan on taking music as serious as people think you want to or is simply a stress reliever? Is the talk show and YouTube your main passion?

(SF) The main focus is still the podcast and pushing it as far as I can. I’m gonna do different shows to showcase artists once I get that office. I appreciate the love that I get from the podcast and the amount of people who want to get on, but there’s gonna be other stuff that's gonna happen on the channel. This year for music, I’m gonna release Food City Gang and maybe I’ll make “serious” music after that project is done, but I probably won’t do shows like I have planned for Food City Gang.
