rockstar!jj would never perform unless he is 100% certain that you were in the front row. he may be outgoing and confident off stage, but onstage knowing that there are a bunch of people whose attention was focused solely on him terrified the hell out of him.

seeing your smiling face in the front kept him grounded. he'd blow you a kiss, take a deep breath, and start the show.

he'd make sure to glance at you every once in a while, playfully sticking out his tongue at you or making a lewd gesture. you'd respond with a wink or jokingly raise your middle finger at him.

after the concert, he'd immediately look for you backstage. after exchanging kisses, "you did amazing"s, and "thank you"s, he would take you by the hand and lead you to his dressing room with a knowing smirk on his sweaty face.

both of you would smoke some weed and gulp down a few beers before making out sloppily, giggles slipping past both of your lips.

you'd say something corny like "play me like how you'd play your guitar." he'd laugh and run his hand down your body, stopping at the curve of your waist.

"you're the prettiest guitar i've ever played," he'd respond with a grin before attaching his lips back to yours.

PAINTING HIS NAILS!!!!

rockstar!jj would let you paint his nails any color you wished. usually you'd do black or white. simple colors. they'd remind you of freddie mercury and brian may from queen doing the same.

he'd be so scared to strum his guitar after you'd paint them - afraid that he'd chip off the polish you painstakingly spent a lot of time on to get perfect. every time he has to perform with painted nails, he'd use a guitar pick.

what he loves most about his painted nails is seeing you choke on them as he puts them into your mouth as he makes you cu—

rockstar!jj loves teaching you to play guitar.

"it's too hard, j," you'd whine, your short fingers struggling to stretch across the guitar's fretboard.

he'd laugh at you, reaching over to press on the unreachable strings. "okay, babe, strum it."

he'd teach you songs and riffs to play - fully aware that the information was going in one ear and out the next. he could tell this by the way your eyes focused on his calloused fingers as he pressed on the strings, the way you'd brush away the stray locks of blonde hair as they fell across his face, and the way you would stare at his blue eyes as he made sure he was on the correct fret.

he didn't mind the fact that you didn't care, though. he was just happy to share a moment with you. besides, you would always thank him with a hug and kiss after being "taught" a new riff.

hai mare!!!! was just dropping by to let you know that once i get an email allowing me to get a new ao3 account that i’m gonna be writing there!!! :3 says the approximate day is the 23rd! and also the first thing i’m planning to work on is a oneshot of cs!tommy and cs!ranboo being besties and stuff! (i also don’t know if they ever become besties since i’m at like…. chapter 13…… but i’ve had no motivation to read in a few months :/)

i’m still navigating around the site (it confuses me so much 😭😭) but i shall get there!!!! i’m determined lol. please hand over any tips for a new person on that site who has no idea what the hell they are doing (not forced!)

okay yeah so tips! searching up works or ships individually is a nightmare, ao3 has a fantastic search function but it gets overwhelming when trying to use the search bar with no filters on. what i recommend is finding a few character or relationship tags you like (i actually don't know if you can do this with characters but i figure you can?) and favoriting them. that way you can go to the home page and see all your favorite tags and use THOSE to navigate/browse for works -- i never try to individually look up works anymore and i just do that

bookmarks are helpful! you can mark things for later but imo i am more likely to check a bookmark where i individually wrote "read later" than i am to go search for my mark for later works. you can make bookmarks private, leave comments on them, leave tags (wish in hindsight i tagged my own bookmarks so i could look thru them easier), etc.

i hear very conflicting perspectives on this but what i learned and what i have done since is always put my writing in RICH TEXT FORMAT. there is an option (which is default iirc?) to upload works in HTML format but that fucking sucks so just go with rich format. you can draft works for 30 days and continuously go back and edit tags if you want

there are a LOT of advice pieces on tagging that circulate but one of mine that i don't see a ton is that you can use the tags of the fic to broadly cover some content material, and then use the beginning notes to get more specific. this usually works best with multichapters, like i don't individually tag every single triggering thing that appears in CS but i tag the things that are recurring (alcoholism, derealization, etc) and then in the beginning notes for each chapter i state what the specifics are

40. Do you have any rituals before uploading a fic?

this is an interesting question bc i don’t necessarily have an rituals per se but i do have my little routine for uploading. so i always have to reread my work 3 times before i upload it (sometimes 4 if it’s a longer piece, so 3 times per 5k and then once the whole way through)

i’ll always have ao3 open while i’m doing my last edit and fill in all the details so all i need to do is copy and paste in the actual fic and hit send once i’m done. i have a sort of method for tagging that goes: genre, scenario, relevant details (eg. fluff, friends to lovers, coffeeshop au, first kiss etc etc) so i’ll usually spend the most time fixing that and coming up with my title. then as soon as it’s posted i’ll check the tag on ao3 to make sure it’s actually entered the search engine (bc i’ve been burned by that once of twice before and i’m still bitter askjdhfa)

and then, well, it’s just an endless cycle of refreshing until someone leaves a kudos or a comment lmao
