How do your ocs sleep? Like, what position do they sleep in? What do they need to fall asleep? Do they prefer to sleep alone or in company? Etc
hi hi hi so sorry for the Super Late Reply i was asleepin when you sent this ╥_╥ as penance i present to you:
Way more information than you asked for ദ്ദി(。•̀ ,<)~✩
♡ended up being seasonal; two happy couples and some pining♡
The Mage and their Familiar.
Melrose’s bed is sort of like a nest! Multiple fluffy blankets, a big duvet, and a buuunch of soft pillows. It all kinda swallows them up for the night, but that’s how they like it. All curled up in the middle of their pile like rigby regularshow (exaggeration. but it’s basically that).
They never had someone with them until Casper got comfortable enough to take the foot of the bed whenever he wants. So Mel doesn’t really require a bedmate to sleep, they just really love their familiar ฅ^>⩊<^ฅ
Casper can sleep pretty much anywhere. He’ll either curl up like a normal cat or morph into the shape of whatever he decides is Bed™ today.
If he decides to settle down for a Big Sleep like humans do? Nakey. If not then he’s just got his day clothes on, and he usually forgets to take off his collar regardless :P
Sometimes if he gets overstimulated or just overwhelmed by. Whatever. He’ll just get in Melrose’s cauldron in the basement and hide for a bit. And Mel always seems to know when that is, so they like bringing little snacks and treats for Cas to wake up to :’3
So he really doesn’t need any specific criteria to have a real good sleep, but his favourite place is always next to Mel, getting hella scritches ^_^
(Side note: sometimes they’ll end up sleeping so deeply they go into a state of hibernation and their bodies kind of. fuse together a little bit. homophobic_dog.jpeg).
next couple.
The Coroner and The Artist.
Sharona was completely used to sleeping alone until she started dating her wife. She still can, but there’s always the feeling of something missing. Jada ended up needing some accommodations that made co-sleeping difficult, so now they’re in two separate beds—close enough that neither of them (usually) feel a house apart, but still two different rooms. Sharona wants to have both beds in the same room, but Jada still thinks they don’t have the space for it (unless Sharona is willing to get a smaller bed. She absolutely would, but Jada is stubborn and extremely sweet and won’t let her).
Jada sleeps on her back, with a few thick fluffy pillows to keep her in place so she doesn’t risk knocking over her CPAP machine, but she used to be a right side sleeper. Sharona was always a back sleeper, but uses her wife’s old pillow with a little of her perfume under the case.
Sometimes she’ll say fuck it and sleep in the armchair in the other bedroom, especially if she’s on a particularly bad case and needs to be around someone she loves. Back pain be damned, do not separate these women.
The ferret does not sleep in either of their rooms. Not since the incident.
final “couple”!
The Conman and The Undead
Now Harvey, difficult as always, is not really made for sleeping. Being a mostly nocturnal sort of demon living in the human world (and also being like 8 or 9 feet tall 👀👀) he’s had to accept that “tired” is a state of being at this point. He covers it up well but GOD does he wish he could sleep for more than an hour without being drugged up.
He has the same ability to shapeshift as the other shadows but, while they’re more slime-based, Harvey is smoke-based. He could very well spread his mass across a whole room and hibernate, or do the opposite and condense himself into a smaller body, but he just doesn’t consider it. And it’s kind of annoying getting himself sorted out afterwards, as he might pick up some shadows that weren’t originally his. Or dust. Too much effort ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Right about now he’s laid out on his roommate’s couch (that should’ve been replaced two tenants ago), not quite drunk enough to knock him out. Sad bastard.
Some shit he doesn’t know yet: if he ever accepts that he needs intimacy, his quality of life will improve DRASTICALLY. Better and longer sleeps, something to live for, free weed, the works. He just needs something closer than acquaintances but not explicitly romantic. Not yet, at least.
The roommate in question, Crow, is tired all the time as well, but at least he has a bed. Though it takes him hours to actually get to sleep. The sheets are thin, but he usually piles on one or two throw blankets anyway—his body temperature is pretty impossible to regulate, being dead and all.
His room is painted dark, and he wears a sleep mask to protect his poor sensitive eyedballs from the sun (which loves to shine right through his only window, way too early in the morning). Crow’s also completely shameless about his stuffed animal situation, having some on his bed and a few more that he rotates out for washing them reasons.
Having lived with the guy for about a year now, he has slept (not like that!!!) with Harvey once. And, unfortunately, they both really liked it. Something about having this fragile little thing, all scarred and tormented, sleeping in his arms without a care in the world... Harvey couldn’t place it, but it’s something akin to love. Now whenever either of them are alone at night, they think of each other. That one night they shared.
Holy shit can you tell I’m down BAD for this asshole😵‍💫😵‍💫
