“If you come quietly, you won’t get hurt.” Jackson takes another step towards him and Smith finds that he really hasn’t changed in his months with the Foxes. His bravery has dwindled to nothing and maybe was only ever tied to great pump-up songs. Now, in the silence of the alley he is back to being Frozen-Stiff-Smith.

“You’re going to dial up that Wesninski brat, and if you don’t say exactly what I tell you to, then I am going to have you sing in agony.” Jackson continues towards him.

In that moment, he does stop thinking about Crocodile Dundee.

He thinks about a movie that is far more ingrained into his mind than any number of self-defense videos. Any number of random lessons with Matthew Boyd where he’d done his best not to flinch. A movie he had watched in better days with his family and had been a favorite of his.

6/26/24 WIP Wednesday (OPEN) | Fluent Freshman AU (2/5)

He really needs to get around to apologizing to Aaron for stealing his keys this morning. He hadn’t wanted to but the thought of leaving the front door unlocked at night when everyone was sleeping seemed so dangerous. What if someone got hurt just because he wanted to go and ensure his own survival? Smith ignores the thought in the back of his head reminding him that Andrew is planning on killing him in this exact house. Just because Andrew is planning on killing him, doesn’t mean Smith wants anyone to die or get hurt.

Smith looks at the table noticing that Andrew and Captain Neil were not there and raises his brow at Aaron in a silent question.

“Josten and Andrew went out shopping and are now working on something in Andrew’s room.” Aaron’s smiley face plate could only be called a smiley face if the artist was Picasso at this point.
