Biggest pet peeve about Heroes Rhea is that all her alts out her as a dragon despite it being arguably the thing she is the most cagey about in the original because she knows she'll get literally torn to shreds for it.
Like bro!! She's a legendary swordswoman! She's adept with white and black magic! She cares so much for others but she'll also tear you apart if you threaten her loved ones!!
You could have given her her own sword as Seiros, a staff as the Archbishop and a silly tome for her Halloween alt and kept the dragon form for her Fallen alt and you would've portrayed all the different aspects of her so much better!
#fire emblem#fire emblem heroes#feh#fe16 spoilers#rhea#seiros#my rambles#i know heroes is super hit or miss with characterization and doesn't give af about spoilers but. fuck.#just like with the fandom they ignore all the interesting and charming stuff about her and instead she's just. the dragon.

The Edge of Dawn makes me so fuckin sad looking at the lyrics Edelgard wanted so much to just be a normal girl but her sense of duty and drive to change a world she sees as damaged and flawed to end the sort of suffering she went through and looking to the professor for that it just-- ghhh something about that hurts so good I love it. Also the motif absolutely gives me the energy to battle god at the end of CF it just feels so empowering when she's at the end and the goal of that world she dreams for, fights for, is in reach.

Things I have managed NOT to do before turning 18:
Watch my mom accidentally jump off a mountaintop to her doom because my voice changed
Out myself as a heretic and plunge my continent into war
Get overthrown as the Pope and then forced to physically fight God
Get stabbed by my girlfriend and then a million other disembodied swords
I am so good at life :)

*wakes up in a cold sweat.*
FEA AU where everything’s the same but Robin and Grima share a body in a similar way to where Byleth and Sothis share one.
Robin is the “vessel” while Grima is the weird looking ghost with no memories that lives in their head and also gives them some weird and kinda op ability similar to Divine Pulse.
Lucina’s Grima still takes control of Robin and causes the apocalypse in her timeline, when Grima remembers what humanity did to him (them? Does Grima have a gender?), but her actions ironically result in strengthening the bond between the main Robin and Grima, allowing them to work together to defeat their alternate counterparts.
Maybe when Robin deals the final blow, Grima decides to be the true sacrifice and takes the hit for both of them, so only Grima is destroyed when alternate Grima and Robin are killed (kinda like how Sothis’s heart is destroyed in Crimson Flower once Rhea is killed,) much to Robin’s heartbreak sine they’d become close friends in this timeline.
Idk, I think this idea has potential.
Oh, very neat! A world where Grima & Robin are one! The relationship between Robin & Grima would be full of much more animosity at the start, I'm sure, even if Grima couldn't remember its past either. Lucina's Timeline Grima would be one that wants to destroy all of humanity still, so I wonder what would happen differently to make the Awakening timeline Grima not do that. It couldn't just be the bond of friendship between Robin & Grima or else the apocalypse wouldn't have happened in Lucina's timeline. Interesting!

Can you share your thoughts on Lindhart's and Caspar's dads? They did take part in the insurrection which caused so much grief to Emperor Edelgard, yet now they're her political allies. Have you spared them out of sheer calculation? Or do you believe their redemption is sincere?
I can. Their infighting is their signature trait, at least in one another’s company. But it does suggest that they are capable of functioning in a professional capacity while their close colleague is one who constantly challenges and rejects their suggestions. As they are constantly locked in this feud, their motions are actually far more functional than those from the more corrupt nobility. Neither one walks away fully happy, and so, the most needs are met for the population at large. They understand this, as they have never sought to resort to subterfuge or conspiracy to have their way.
At least until my father and the Prime Minister approached them for the Insurrection. They may have been able to stand against one or the other, but opposing the two central figureheads beside the throne was tantamount to signing their own death warrants.
It does not excuse them, but I do believe their redemption is sincere. Separated from seditious influences, they are free to return to their bickering that furthers the Empire’s cause. So it is a combination of both belief in their reformation and calculative strategy. They are useful, so they can remain in their positions as long as they prove their merit.
I do suspect that Caspar’s father will be happy to resign and retire once the time comes, however. Noble pressures have fractured his large family. Stepping down from the role to make room for an elected replacement will free him to live his own life. I’m not sure Linhardt’s parents would be so enthusiastic about having time to themselves away from the court.
[I am also biased in favor of Caspar’s dad, lol. Ever since I wrote him in a shippy/angsty AU fic, I just love him.]

Major spoilers for both Black Eagles routes of FE3H below this cut
I’ve been thinking about how Jeralt surviving could have really enhanced the plots of both Crimson Flower and Silver Snow, thought I’d put my ideas here
Crimson Flower: Despite his lack of trust in Rhea, Jeralt can’t in good faith join Edelgard’s revolution while she’s working with TWSITD. He doesn’t have the year of connection with Edelgard that Byleth and the Black Eagles had that lead them to join her side, nor does he have any close personal connection to the Empire. This could really add a lot to the theme of Byleth growing as their own person and making their own decisions for the first time, naturally leading to the cutscene at the end of CF where the crest stone disappears and their heart starts beating by itself for the first time. Plus it makes for a really tragic confrontation against Jeralt at his full power in part 2. I could see an argument that Jeralt would join whatever side Byleth did, especially with his skepticism of the church, but I think this works better for the themes of Crimson Flower.
Silver Snow: Jeralt survives and joins your army as a Silver Snow exclusive character, sort of the route’s answer to the Death Knight in Crimson Flower. Jeralt’s presence could do a lot to flesh out Byleth’s character and really make the route Byleth’s route, which didn’t really hold up compared to the routes where you sided with a house leader in the actual game. I think it would also benefit Rhea’s character to have someone casting a more critical light on her until rescuing her in Silver Snow considering what she did to their family, eventually resulting in a reaction to her actions by someone who was personally affected by her actions other than Byleth. Plus, Jeralt has had an infusion of Rhea’s blood himself, and would likely transform into a white beast in the final map, making for another tragic confrontation and adding to the bittersweet feeling the end of Silver Snow is intended to leave you with.
