DEMO- September 29, 2024 | Cast Profiles | Cast Interviews-Round 1 | Cast Interviews-Round 2 | The Muse: Spotify
The Muse is a 18+ slice of life interactive fiction novel set at NYU focusing mostly on the art departments in the Steinhardt and Tisch schools. Inspired by my love for shows and movies like Felicity, Fame (the show), Skins UK, and Center Stage. This will not be an accurate depiction of school life at NYU, I'll be taking lots of creative liberties.
Content Warnings: explicit language, sexual themes, substance use, violence, mention of SA
You come from a family of artists and art lovers. Your mother is a passionate curator for a small gallery in the city and your father is a sculptor and painter with a very dedicated cult following. They met when they were just starting out and have built a lovely life for themselves and their two children, you and your older brother Cameron.
Your parents have always been super supportive of you and your brother’s dreams and ambitions. They were a great source of encouragement and guidance for your brother on his path to discovering his goal to become a game designer and you on your path to become whatever you choose.
Growing up surrounded by such creativity just so happened to inspired you to want to create something of your own.
Now that you’ve graduated high school it’s time for you to head off to university! You’ve decided to leave the mid sized city that you call your hometown, and go to the big city NYC! You’ll be attending NYU more specifically, but you won’t be making this move alone you’ll be attending with your best friend Maxine!
What will you discover in your university life?
Will you solely focus on schoolwork or wind up in the raging party scene?
Will you explore new creative endeavors or solely focus on honing your craft?
With so much going on will you even have the time to possibly find your muse, or maybe even become someone else’s?
Design your mc from clothing style to physical appearance to pronouns, gender identity, name, looks, and more.
Choose 1 of 6 majors that grant you different classes with new students and professors: (Studio Arts, Dance, Drama, Photography and Imaging, Songwriting, Recorded Music)
Curate your MCs personality and how they react to all the drama and excitement university life has to offer. Style your MC’s dorm room and their aesthetic style.
Navigate the cliques and scenes to figure out where your MC fits in. Maybe you're a social butterfly and you just float from one social group to another!
Engage in a romance with 1 of 10 characters. 5 female/male gender selectable and 5 gender set characters. And 2 poly routes one with The Rebel Rejects and one with The Exes (Faye and Karla).
Choose one of three part time jobs to give you a little extra spending money for things like spring break and birthday gifts for your new friends.
Follow The Muse through your MC’s freshman and sophomore years. Junior and senior year will come much later in Book Two of The Muse. The third and final book in The Muse series will cover the start of MC's new life after graduation.
Roxanne/Robbie Sawyer: (f/m) The lead singer and guitarist of The Rebel Rejects. Ro is everything you would want in a lead singer cool, charismatic, and super talented. Don’t let their dazzling aura intimidate you though because though they may have a raging wild side they can also be extremely down to earth.
Joleen/Johnny Nielsen: (f/m) The drummer of The Rebel Rejects. Jo is the oddball of the band with a sunny exterior and twisted flower child past. They may be a sweet boho bimbo with a heart of gold, but there’s a lot more that lies behind those blue green eyes.
Delphine/Desmond Hartley: (f/m) The bassist for The Rebel Rejects. De is the super glue propelling the group forward. With high expectations from their parents, and dreams that soar even higher, success is the only option.
Rina/Ren Fukushi: (f/m) R is the best ballet dancer in this incoming freshman class, and no one would ever think to say otherwise. They’re cold and closed off, if it isn’t about ballet then they don’t want to hear it.
Everly/Everett Thompson: (f/m) Eve is a triple threat. Singing, dancing, acting they can do it all. They hope to complete their EGOT before they turn 40.
Karla Reyes: (she/her) Karla is a sophomore at NYU studying Studio Arts. Her favorite medium is watercolor on canvas. She dabbled with sculpting and ceramics...until she broke up with her ex, Faye, and can’t stand to be in the same studio with them.
Faye Winters: (she/they) Faye is every bit the ethereal being they seem to be, and just as flighty. She is a sophomore majoring in dance with a minor in studio arts. She has this effortless charm and beauty that extends to her art whether its her dancing or her sculptures.
Sebastien Auclair: (he/him) Sebastien is in his third year of university, he’s an exchange student from the Paris College of Art. He is studying photography and imaging. Sebastian loves Paris, but he is excited for this change of scenery.
Maxine Matthews: (she/her)Max is your best friend in the world! Your parents are friends so you were destined to best pals since birth, thank god you actually like each other or all those shared family functions would have been really awkward. Max is funny and always has great commentary for every show or movie that you watch together. Which is why you weren’t surprised when they decided to major in dramatic writing. Some people think that you’re too close. They wonder how is it possible that you could be just friends.
Silas Walker: (he/him) Silas is your RA. As your Resident Advisor he's super helpful and friendly. You have a question about the best study spots, bad professors, how to use the subway, well he's got answers. He keeps all his advisees at arms length because everyone knows RAs can't canoodle with their advisees. And that just makes it all the more enticing.

Gustave Caillebotte (French, 1848-1893) L'Homme au balcon, boulevard Haussmann oil on canvas, 116.5 x 89.5 cm. Painted in 1880 Private collection •#Repost @paintings_i_love № 3270 Painted in 1880, L'Homme au balcon, boulevard Haussmann is, in figural scale, size and force of construction, the most important of Caillebotte's treatments of the men on balconies. The present oil captures the view from the artist's Parisian apartment at the corner of the rue Gluck and the boulevard Haussmann, in the 9th arrondissement. In a departure from the earlier interpretation of his favourite subject, Caillebotte eliminated any reference to the bourgeois interior in the background--still present in Jeune homme à sa fenêtre--by perfecting a compositional scheme in which the window embrasure is parallel to the picture plane. The artist was no longer interested in the depiction of the street, nor in the confrontation between interior and exterior, focusing instead on the perspective of the boulevard and the light effects, rendered with a freer, atmospheric brushstroke. In Haussmann's Paris balconies were fashionable in general because they revealed of the metamorphoses of the daily life of the buildings in relation to the street. Life is no longer centered around a courtyard but on the streets of the city. The desire for air and light led architects to create balconies where Parisians could not only watch pedestrians on the street but be watched by them as well. The balcony became from then on a pictorial motif for the painters of modern life, a sort of observatory for the privileged"… • • • • • • • #Caillebotte #GustaveCaillebotte #frenchimpressionism #oilpainter #oilpaintings #oilpainting #artforeveryone #fineartpainting #paintingoftheday #peinture #landscape #historiadelarte #storiadellarte #peintures #historyofart #arthistory #beauxarts #instamuseum #artmuseum #pittura #arthistorian #peintre #malerei #19thcenturyart #oldmasters #impressionism #impressionismo #europeanart #impressionisme #20thcenturyart https://www.instagram.com/p/CmhPHjnoZwI/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

nonnie is enabling me!
Do you have headcanons for your arknights characters?
im so glad you asked. heads up for too many snow leopard references.
SilverAsh
the gap moe of it all. i think it’s really interesting that the general facade he puts forward is actually his gentle smile, and that his e2 art is where he drops it, implying he trusts the doctor enough to not necessarily keep up the (terrifying) pleasant boy demeanor. generally, he has 3 levels, his pleasant persona -> ruthless/cold -> snuggly cat mode.
he’s very very protective over his family - and considers all of those close to him family. he has a self sacrificial streak that’s easy to miss if you aren’t looking for it.
seeing as he’s like 6′3/192cm, he hit a serious growth spurt very young. threw his balance, and was definitely very gangly for a bit until he grew into himself. it did help solidify his more pacifying, pleasant persona, meant to be non threatening.
absolute sassbucket. no one asked, cio. no one.
well versed in business (obv) as well as law, and could veritably represent his family in court if needed, and allows his to retain his footing around the nobility he so opposes.
also has an assortment of Rich Boy talents: ballroom/formal dancing, well read, polyglot, and to a lesser known degree, he’s a painter - but this is primarily for himself. to others, he is simply well versed in art.
though many expect him to run cold with the whole ice prince aes he’s got goin on, seeing as he’s snow leopard adjacent, he’s actually quite warm.
relationships:
pram: they are estranged at best. he made the deal with her to become a saintess in her as well as the family’s best wishes, but being taken away from what she knows, and metaphorically dunked into the shark tank hasn’t boded well for their relationship. he would still defend her without second thought.
cliff: remain close but in the background, and he feels responsible for his youngest sibling. she has been known to give him headaches, but he’s very fond of her, and will always be in her corner. on the short list of people that get his true nature. appreciates the good name she makes for the clan.
courier: boyfriend. emotional support twink. but in all seriousness, they have one of those long, slow burn relationships (in canon) and the inherent eroticism of a boy dedicating his life to you. also in the short list of people to get him all the way to grumpy/snuggly/more himself.
ethan: as an artist, he has a lot of respect for ethan’s work, and thinks it’s very nice. but as a raised noble, he has an...adverse reaction to graffiti.
aak: he will sell him to satan for one corn chip.
shirayuki: not close, but relationship of mutual respect. there’s a certain alienating factor added when she is fairly close with pram.
Pramanix
lebsiam. lesbiab. lebs. le. girls. women.
beneath her serene exterior, she’s quite carefree and on the silly side. she’s playful and has dry humor that often goes unnoticed. few get to see this side of her when the serenity is so expected.
essentially a political prisoner. her position of saintess is less a power thing for her, and much more shackling. she’s removed from her family, and surrounded by too many people whispering in her ear. rhodes island is a welcome escape for her.
she is as religious as her post implies, but her relationship with her faith is extremely personal. her holy bell is kept close at all times, and treated almost reverently. it is as powerful as terrifying for her. one mistake and she’s doomed, and she’s learned not to make mistakes.
textile work is one of her passions, and something she’s gotten to do very little of since ascending to her position. weaving, knitting, dying fabrics, all manner of things. most of her wardrobe is made and maintained by herself.
those she cares deeply for receive little gifts from her - typically pieces of embroidery, small dyed cloths, simple things that can be displayed around the home or carried close. once she’s at rhodes island, these grow into sweaters and scarves - bigger, warm, wearable pieces.
additionally, growing up in an elite family, she’s well read, and her love for reading has never faded. it aids her well in her position, absorbing religious texts, history, anything necessary, but she also enjoys a simple novel. it’s not uncommon to find her curled up in a corner of one of the dormitory rooms with a book she’s scavenged to wind down after a long day and recover.
her other passion is tea! if one of the medics will teach her to maintain her own tea plants, she’ll be over the moon. over all, she finds it calming, and likes teas across the spectrum. with such low to connection to her usual hobbies, it’s often that she finds herself offering and making tea for those she meets with.
much like a cat, she requires more sleep than average - at least 10-11 hours at night, and a nap somewhere midday. rumor has it, it’s the toll being a vessel for the divine takes on her, and she would not disagree. it could also be depression.
relationships:
silverash: as mentioned prior, they’re estranged. she was younger than advisable when he made the decision to have her ascend to saintess. while aware it was likely the best move for her and the family, she struggles not to blame him for the stress and loneliness associated with her position. less inclined to stand up for her brother.
cliff: neutral relationship with her sister. while she holds no ill will, being separated hasn’t done anything to improve their relationship. there’s a bit of underlying bitterness that cliff is still free and able to pursue her passions. does not know about cliff’s infection.
shirayuki: future gf. she appreciates someone that matches her energy, and isn’t terribly demanding on her when her position is demanding enough. rhodes island has been her first chance to breathe in so long, those asking her to shoulder too much end up on her shit list. not that they’d ever know.
cliffheart:
funky little nb bisexual. unstoppable. she/they pronouns.
climbing calms her, and she sees any vertical surface as a challenge. it’s not uncommon to see her in spots she shouldn’t be around rhodes island, and she’s been known to scare some of the operators by scaling walls etc in the dormitories just to hang out. has had it joked that she should be a mountain goat not a snow leopard until she reminds them that they belong in the mountains too, thank you very much.
incredibly spunky and a huge prankster. and with SA as an older brother, she’s not easily intimidated or frightened by others. plus, she’s very nimble, get away is never a challenge.
also very flexible. will fold herself into seemingly impossible positions to scare someone when they walk in. much like the cat she is, her resting positions only make sense and look comfortable about half of the time.
as for her oripathy diagnosis, very few people know. she is careful to hide it, and is thankful for the lower stigma in kjerag to be able to continue to lead a mostly normal life. in all honesty, she’s terrified of it, and what will happen, but she also uses it to boost her desire to live in the moment, try new things, and remain adventurous.
after initially suffering the puncture wound, she wasn’t able to climb for a bit, still recovering from the trauma and getting the oripathy under control. it wasn’t long until she was itching to climb again.
generally hikes solo, but always excited for anyone that can keep up with her on the mountains! also into journaling and photography along the way to document everything. this often includes towns she visits and the stories of people she meets and talks to along the way.
relationships:
silverash: lovingly calls him cio. a little better than he can’t have much of a relationship with her publicly, but she loves him a lot and she wants better for him. hopefully, rhodes island can improve things.
pram: neutral and loving. she hasn’t spoken to her sister since pram took her position, and she’s fairly distressed about the deteriorated relationship with their brother. cliff plans to use rhodes island and the time there to reconnect with pram, and hopefully eventually connect her back to cio.
ethan: fast friends - and a killer combo. give a graffiti artist someone who can get him to the weirdest spots with ease. they have a similar prankster nature, and click fairly naturaly.
aak: fast friends as well. matching chaotic energy. she trusts few medics with her condition, but he’s one of them. his penchant for experimenting resonates with her, and she offers herself for whatever tests he wants to run willingly.
#this is longer than anticipated#and now im crying about the silversibs#muse; pramanix | anya silverash#muse; cliffheart | encia silverash#muse; enciodas silverash

Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art February 29th – June 8th 2020 Art Gallery South Australia, SA
This year the Art Gallery of South Australia welcomes the hugely popular Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art back for its 30th year. Known for its risk-taking and expansive vision, the Biennial welcomes the wild, wacky, weird and wonderful.
The theme of the 2020 iteration is Monster Theatres, inviting artists to bring to life the ‘monsters’ of today. As described by curator Leigh Robb, ‘Monsters ask us to interrogate our relationships with each other, the environment and technology. They force us to question our empathy towards differences across race, gender, sexuality and spirituality.’
Artists involved in the Biennial include Abdul Abdullah, Polly Borland, Yhonnie Scarce + many more!
Olafur Eliasson, Riverbed 2014. Photo – Natasha Harth, QAGOMA.
Water December 7th 2019 – April 26th 2020 Gallery of Modern Art, QLD
Brisbane’s Gallery of Modern Art never fails to disappoint with its innovative, world-class programming – and Water is no exception! Exploring the theme of, you guessed it, Water, this exhibition explores this vital element from the perspective of artists around the world.
Here is some of what you can expect, according to GOMA:
‘Walk across a vast, rocky riverbed created by Olafur Eliasson. See animals from around the world gather together to drink from Cai Guo-Qiang’s brilliant blue waterhole. Gaze at Peter Fischli and David Weiss’s snowman frozen in Brisbane’s summer heat. Traverse a cloud of suspended gymnastic rings in a participatory artwork by William Forsythe. View the tidal currents rise and fall around Angela Tiatia. Reflect on the cultural traditions of bodies of water with Judy Watson, and on the long history of our reliance on water through Megan Cope’s re-created midden.’

Stanislava Pinchuk June 27th – October 4th 2020 Heide Museum of Modern Art, VIC
Stanislava Pinchuk (also known by her pseudonym, Miso) has emerged as one of Australia’s intriguing contemporary artists in the last decade. The Ukranian-born, Melbourne-based artist captures the changing topographies of war and conflict zones through data mapping, making tiny, individual pin pricks to realise these patterns – an incredibly labour-intensive and mentally and physically draining process that appears effortless, and beautiful.
This major exhibition at Heide Museum of Modern Art in Melbourne will feature a survey of Stanislava’s most powerful pinprick projects from the past five years, accompanied by terrazzo-like sculptures comprised of pieces of debris left behind in conflict zones.

Pierre Bonnard designed by India Mahdavi June 5th – October 4th 2020 National Gallery of Victoria
While Sydney-siders enjoy the masterful works of Henri Matisse, Melbournites won’t miss out on the opportunity to experience an incredible exhibition of another beloved French painter! The exquisite works of Pierre Bonnard will be on show at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) for their major winter showcase, a kaleidoscopic exhibition of 150 works from the painter with a fondness for domestic scenes and rural life. Pierre Bonnard has been developed in partnership with Musee d’Orsay in Paris.
Described by Matisse, a close friend of Bonnard’s, as ‘a great painter, for today and definitely also for the future’, this groundbreaking exhibition spans paintings, drawings, photographs, folding screens and early cinema, depicting scenes of modern 20th century France in bright, vivid colours.
Aside from the opportunity to see one of the works of this beloved painter, what makes this exhibition absolutely unmissable is the design of the show itself. Iranian Paris-based designer India Mahdavi (the interiors genius behind the iconic pink Gallery at Sketch restaurant in London) has been commissioned by the NGV to bring Bonnard’s extraordinary works to life, elegantly balancing historical references with contemporary culture in an immersive experience.

Carriageworks Commissions Rebecca Baumann: Radiant Flux, January 8th – June 14th Reko Rennie: REMEMBER ME, January 2020 – January 2021 Kate Mitchell: All Auras Touch, January 8th – March 1st Daniel Boyd: Video Works, January 8th – March 1st
Australia’s largest multi-arts centre, Carriageworks, has been home to some pretty major large-scale installation commissions in its time (who could forget German artist Katherina Grosse’s otherworldly technicoloured universe in 2018?). This summer, four new site-specific commissions from leading Australian artists Rebecca Baumann, Daniel Boyd, Kate Mitchell and Reko Rennie have taken residence in the epic historical space.
Spanning over 100-metres, Rebecca Baumann’s Radiant Flux sees every glass surface of the building’s exterior covered in a film that changes colour at every angle, flooding the space with kaleidoscopic light that will never be the same twice.
A study in human energy, All Aurus Touch by Kate Mitchell captures an aura portrait for each of the 1,023 census-recognised occupations.
Video Works by Kudjala/Gangalu artist Daniel Boyd features three major video installations, where gallery walls will be mapped with the artist’s otherworldly, infinite cosmos.
Interdisciplinary Kamilaroi artist Reko Rennie references the massacre of First Nations people in Remember Me, a massive illuminated sign that will remain on display for the whole of 2020, the year marking the 250th anniversary of Captain Cook’s first landfall.
