Watcher announcing they’re leaving YouTube and putting all their new content behind a paywall via a new streaming service in a nutshell:
#look I get that being beholden to the whims of advertisers sucks and that making these videos costs a lot of money#and artists should absolutely be paid what they’re worth#but making a streaming service for ONLY their content is a really dumb business decision#and while I will entertain theories suggesting otherwise#I believe all three of them are equally to blame for this dumb idea until they explain how and why they did this#watcher#shane madej#ryan bergara#steven lim#ghost files#mystery files#puppet history

So I was rewatching Hotel Transylvania on Netflix using the SignUp Captions Chrome Extension to watch an American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation of it side-by-side (I do this to keep my language skills somewhat intact and just to see how different interpreters operate — highly recommend if you want a free and fun way to experience ASL, British Sign Language, Indian Sign Language and Australian Sign Language!) and here are a couple of cool/funny things I noticed:
a) during the first time Dracula does his weird growl/anger thing, the interpreter chooses to gesture at the film as if to say “just watch this” instead of try to emulate it, which is super hilarious to me. You know the count is being a drama queen when even an ASL interpreter just goes “yeah no, you can see this for yourself”. They do emulate his last anger/growl thing at the end and it’s great. I love it!
b) the interpreter does interpret the iconic “bleh, bleh-bleh!” in an interesting way. There is actually a “blah blah blah” sign which they could have used, but I think their way is better (and more funny). Basically, they use a classifier sign (this is kind of hard to explain if you’re not familiar with the language — just think of it as a way of highlighting specific details or conveying information efficiently in a way where you don’t necessarily *create* new signs, you just use get creative with them to get the point across? I’m not sure if that makes sense). Here’s what it looks like in action:
[Video ID: The video is without sound. Against a dark background, an American Sign Language interpreter sits in a chair. They are signing a conversation from the movie Hotel Transylvania (2012). The conversation, translated into English, goes as follows:
(Signing as Johnny) “You’re, like, the real Count Dracula. Like, ‘I’m Dracula, bleh, bleh-bleh!’”
(Signing as Dracula) “I’ve never said that in my life. ‘Bleh, bleh-bleh’ I don’t know where that comes from.”
End Video ID]
The “bleh, bleh-bleh” part is specifically when they make the two-handed fist and have one fist move away from the other in a rhythm similar to how the character says it while also mouthing the words with their tongue out. I love this because you can even see how they subtly change their facial expressions from Johnny to Dracula when this happens: for Johnny, this expression is over-exaggerated and almost over-confident. It says “yep this is Dracula!” But when they sign Dracula doing it, it’s very close to how Dracula actually does this in the movie: with a deep frown and an expression of disgust.
So yeah, just some cool details I noticed!
#wanted to share#I think this is a super cool service and I’m glad it’s picking up steam#I hope I explained this well but please feel free to expand if I missed something or did not explain it properly#american sign language#sign language#asl interpreting#hotel transylvania#johnny loughran#count dracula#also as a side note#in the video ID I chose to use English instead of ASL gloss to avoid confusion#and also my gloss is rusty :/#signup

can one of you f1 girlies become a journalist and interview the drivers who refused to take a knee because they wanted to fight racism in a different way/disagreed with how blm went about seeking justice and ask them, now that nearly 3 years have passed since the may protests, what steps they've taken to educate themselves on racism? what actions they've taken to improve things for people of colour within formula one/motorsports as a whole? or how they've gone about promoting racial equity in their own country?
#f1#formula one#its been long enough surely they must have made some headway? right? (: ?#no those dumb fucking black and white anti racism videos dont count because their vagueness allowed#for them to be co-opted by white people who believe racism exists and that the whole of blm/equality movements are racist to them#from what ive seen literally only lewis has taken action to set up foundations and research groups focusing#on improving racial diversity at both grassroots and professional levels#others have given lip service but genuinely if another driver has been helpful in fighting racism in motorsports do mention#it would be a very very pleasant surprise#because the whole we race as one movement was very much image control#it was always going to be down to lewis and the other poc in the sport like zhou or yuki to fight against the unique and#insidious racism they face in the sport. ultimately the others won't because while racism is a problem they have#and causes problems for others. they see it as a problem they're not responsible for solving#and im sure most of them genuinely truly dont think theyre racist. dont know how their actions can enforce racism#but lewis has stood there and explained over and over again both behind closed doors and tv screens#and at a certain point that continued refusal to listen or engage becomes active and malicious ignorance#and that makes you racist. whether they believe that of themselves or not.

thinking about replaying all the danganronpa games and reading more of the novels and spin offs n stuff…
#I’m always thinking about komahina and komaeda but it’s been a while since I was actively into danganronpa itself… I’m feeling the urge now#honestly I never finished dr3 anime because I didn’t like it 😭😭😭I know everything that happens in it I just never finished the last 4 episo#bc I got ultra depression and couldn’t watch anything for a while when I was 15#I did actually like most of dr3 but there were like just a few things I didn’t like#I don’t remember why so I’m curious if I’ll feel differently about it now. I also didn’t like some of komaedas characterization#I liked most of komaedas characterization but I also felt like they used him for fan service too much. not talking about the shower scene#that was just funny and awesome. I love komaeda sexualization#I remember not liking him blowing the gym up or whatever bc I felt like it was more fan service than anything. but that’s just my opinion#and it’s been so long so maybe when I rewatch it I’ll feel differently who knows#I just felt like thag part was kind of silly and didn’t make much sense. it felt like just fanswrbeice like here’s Komaeda blowing somethin#up like ok thanks. I guess. like it’s not even completely out of character really I just didn’t like it#also honestly I got so into komaeda at some point that seeing him made me feel ill I can’t explain it. like I got sick seeing people talk#about him or make videos about him or mention him… it was crazy#even now I still get stressed out to an unreasonable degree when people from my pov mischaracterize him or stray too far from my specific#headcanons like it’s not super healthy LOL but I think I’m allowed to be super insane about at least one gay anime boy ok#I’m better at recognizing when I’m being unreasonable now though… I respect some different interpretations… sometimes#damn this ramble paragraph might be proof that i should not get actively back into danganronpa itself

How Explainer Video Production Services Can Elevate Your Business
In today's digital age, businesses are turning to creative and innovative ways to convey their message to potential clients. One of the most effective methods is through explainer video production services. Whether you're a startup looking to introduce your product or an established company aiming to simplify a complex process, animated explainer videos have become the go-to solution. This blog explores how partnering with an animated explainer video company can transform your business communications and boost engagement.
What Are Explainer Videos?
Explainer videos are short, engaging videos that explain a product, service, or concept in a simple and easy-to-understand manner. These videos are typically 60-90 seconds long and use a mix of animation, narration, and text to deliver your message effectively. By utilizing explainer video services, businesses can break down complex topics into visually appealing and easily digestible content.
The Power of Animated Explainer Video
The visual and auditory elements of animated explainer video services help captivate audiences, making them more likely to retain the information presented. Whether it’s a tech startup explaining a new app or a large corporation simplifying their onboarding process, animated explainer videos can significantly improve understanding and retention rates.
Here’s why businesses love them:
Simplifies complex information: With the help of animations, complex products and services can be broken down into easy-to-understand content.
Boosts engagement: Viewers are more likely to watch and share animated content, driving engagement on social platforms.
Increases conversion rates: Studies show that businesses using explainer videos on their landing pages see higher conversion rates compared to text-heavy alternatives.
Why Your Business Needs an Explainer Video Company
Creating an effective explainer video requires a mix of creativity, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of the target audience. Partnering with a professional explainer video company ensures that your video is crafted with precision. A dedicated production team can tailor the video to your specific goals, whether it's to increase brand awareness, drive sales, or educate customers.
Some benefits of hiring an explainer video production company include:
Customized storytelling: A professional company will take your business’s unique story and present it in a compelling way.
High-quality visuals: Expert designers and animators can create professional-grade animations that reflect your brand’s quality.
Seamless production: From scripting to voiceover, an experienced team handles every aspect of the video production, ensuring a smooth and timely delivery.
Key Elements of Effective Explainer Videos
When utilizing explainer video services, it's important to focus on certain key elements that ensure maximum impact:
Clear Script: The foundation of any great explainer video is a well-written script that simplifies the message without losing key details.
Engaging Visuals: Animation should be eye-catching yet aligned with your brand's message.
Voiceover: A professional voiceover adds credibility and helps maintain viewer attention.
Call-to-Action (CTA): Every explainer video should end with a clear CTA that directs viewers toward the next step, be it signing up, buying a product, or contacting the company.
Industries That Benefit from Explainer Video Services
Explainer videos are incredibly versatile and can benefit various industries, including:
Tech Companies: Introduce new apps, software, or platforms in a way that’s easily understandable.
Healthcare Providers: Explain medical procedures, treatments, or health services to patients.
E-commerce Businesses: Showcase how products work, leading to higher sales and fewer returns.
Educational Institutions: Create engaging tutorials or course overviews to attract potential students.
Choosing the Right Explainer Video Company
Not all video production companies are created equal. When searching for the right partner, consider the following:
Portfolio: Look at their previous work to ensure their style aligns with your vision.
Experience: The company should have experience in creating videos for businesses like yours.
Communication: A successful project relies on clear communication between you and the production team.
Conclusion:
Incorporating an explainer video into your marketing strategy can make a significant difference in how your audience perceives and interacts with your brand. Whether you're looking for animated explainer video services or a full-fledged explainer video production company, investing in this creative solution can elevate your business to new heights. Let your story be told in a way that’s not only memorable but also impactful.
