“If you control no monsters, or only Xyz Monsters: You can Special Summon this card from your hand, and if you do, Special Summon 1 ‘Exosister Elis’ from your Deck. You cannot Special Summon monsters the turn you activate this effect, except ‘Exosister’ monsters. If a card(s) moves out of either GY (except during the Damage Step): You can Special Summon from your Extra Deck, 1 ‘Exosister’ Xyz Monster, using this face-up card you control as material. I think the concept of Exosisters, nuns that explore a seemingly post-apocalyptic world with magical girl-esque transformations to fight monsters (that also happen to be inspired in female only catholic schools with the trope of upper and underclassmen bonding with the "onee-samas" relationship with hints of Yuri) to be extremely near and interesting. However. Their card artwork has a massive issue for me.

A lot of them are drawn with nothing in their same plane, which is good as to not cover the important part, the character, but:

The buildings on the back look tiny, making them look gargantuan. Martha being added later doesn't help too much because her artwork barely has anything behind her as she's in some roof. None of them are supposed to look Kaiju sized as shown in other cards:

Of course, the exceptions to this issue are the younger ones, Sophia and Stella. But poor Sophia had her status as the shortest one of the group cemented even further as she's not only the one to have something next to her to compare her height properly, she's shown to not even be half as tall as a bookshelf:

exosister martha being the best card in the deck, whose mere presence incites jealousy and drama into elis and stella's relationship, is the height of tying card design to flavor

went to locals yesterday. it wasnt as filled up as two weeks ago, and only about 12 or 13 people signed up.

i’m about 80% sure that the same guy does all the judging for locals in my area and he seemed to at least kind of recognize me last time i was there. when i approached him to sign up he didnt ask for my konami id and just put me in, so i thought “oh he’s good at remembering things”.

nope. just confused me with another similar looking person. ended up having to say that im playing as X but im actually Y all night.

anyway, the vibe sucked. i’m probably just going to go on fridays instead to the other place.

i play this dumbass deck that fucking sucks. suships is a deck that requires a 2-card combo but the two cards you need are lind of flexible. unfortunately, i suck at shuffling i guess and always ended up with not enough resources to play the game.

also, mathmech nabla keeps showing up in my opening hand. of all the mathmech monsters in my deck, nabla by far has shown up the most despite the fact that im playing a single copy of all of them. i have no idea why. easily the least useful, i hate that guy.

i had a philosophy that i should only play 3 copies of a card or 1 copy of a card, only 2 in very special cases - but the more i see small world and overlay network without other cards to use, the more im reconsidering it. im also considering pot of prosperity - the deck does draw, but only once. im also not sure if i can fit all of that into 40 cards. if i add 2 more copies of catch-of-the-day, something’s wrong with me. plus, the more spells i use instead of monsters, the worse small world gets.

i also need to reconsider sakitama and aratama. theyre nice but i just really want to see suships. the only reason i would even consider them is because of small world. maybe i drop small world entirely. exosisters plays the tama package and prosp, but martha is also a one card combo.

lastly, someone PLEASE remind me to activate circular’s second effect.
