if that leak is accurate that Stella and/or Andrealphus are going to die in the s2 finale, it's going to make parts of the fandom dogpiling on Octavia look even more ridiculous
like she just lost her mother and possibly her uncle because her father's affair partner (as far as she knows) just murdered one or both of them and she maybe also had to get involved herself by making the incredibly traumatic choice of saving her father's life from her mother/uncle by potentially hurting and killing them both
and she just discovered she has incredible magic powers which her father has not prepared her to use or handle at all
and to top it all off as far as she knows her father broke his promise not to leave her for Blitzo. like even if Viv goes the route of 'Stolas is kicked out of the palace as consequences for lending out his book', Stolas still bears responsibility for that. He did break his promise to be there for Via when he decided to risk his nobility and titles on sexually extorting someone with his grimoire (a grimoire that's also her inheritance) - he keeps talking about breaking demon law so he knew the risks. that'd be the same if he'd made the more sympathetic choice of having a business arrangement with Blitzo to loan him the book instead of exorting him for sex. and he could have avoided all of this if he'd tried to get Blitzo a crystal in the first place, since he knew full well they existed
and when Via's understandably upset by all of this Stolas doesn't validate any of those feelings but just tells her she 'doesn't understand' and he didn't leave her (presumably Viv is going to pull a 'Stolas tried to call but couldn't get through bcus Stella' to get Stolas out of this, despite all the stuff I mentioned with the book above being entirely his fault).
He tells her she's the best thing in his life but doesn't address any of the ways he's completely failed her - didn't stop having a monthly fling when he knew how upsetting she found it, didn't teach her enough magic if any magic at all, didn't take her away from Stella even though the situation was miserable for everyone involved, didn't explain the arranged marriage situation when she got old enough, didn't bother telling her Stella tried to assassinate him, didn't bother to beef up security to protect her while he was busy negging Blitzo, presumably got distracted again when Blitzo finally folds and gives him the love he wants, etc.
like objectively he's a terrible father even if Stella is worse, but the fandom thinks Via should just be able to switch off caring about Stella at the drop of a hat for Stolas' benefit, even though it's Stolas' fault she'd be attached to her mother because he chose to try and play house for 17 yrs
like supposing Stolas was around Via's age when they first had Via it's understandable he wouldn't know the perfect thing to do. but he was definitely an adult when she was around 5-7 years old and was presumably well aware Stella had been a nightmare for most of that time, yet he insisted the family stay together
it's such a huge lack of empathy and understanding of how abuse works that even if Via had some awareness that Stella is the worst, she'd probably still have mixed feelings about losing her mother. most children struggle to break off attachments with abusive parents because of the good times and because they still love them and want them to be the person they hoped
and Via is facing that exact issue with both Stolas and Stella. it's unreasonable to expect her to immediately be on Stolas' side if the fandom is also arguing he managed to hide what Stella was really like from her for so long - and how would she even know he's telling the truth if he does finally tell her? he's lied to her and let her down before and it'd be very convenient for him to blame Stella for everything (including lending out the book, which was completely his choice) - it's not uncommon for divorcing parents to demand their child's allegiance by throwing the other parent under the bus, after all
Those are all excellent points, and if it does pan out according to the leak, it's not going to matter a particle to this fandom. They're going to rip into that broken, hurt, grieving child like a swarm of lampreys.

Random thoughts time! Splinter of the Mind’s Eye edition~
1. I’ve already said how much the novel changed my perception of Luke, but it did the same to my perception of Leia. She tells Luke that she joined the Rebellion because she was bored and she discovered that the Empire didn’t allow art because it could so easily be used to create free thinkers and she wanted those free thinkers to be allowed, encouraged even, to create. She likes arts and she likes people and she likes people’s art.
2. Leia is the best combatant. In one book alone, she: kicks a guy so hard in the face she almost decapitates him, manages to sweep the legs out from beneath someone, claws a man until he passes out, goes toe-to-fucking-toe with Darth Fucking Vader with Luke’s lightsaber and actually manages to hold her own pretty well, throws an axe into a person’s shoulder while she and her target are both running. She’s so cool in this book, and every time you think “oh they’re gonna do the sexist damsel thing again” it turns out that Leia was just biding her time. So. Fucking. Cool.
Also, my favourite Leia scenes because they’re funny:
“”That should give them something to think about,” she announced with satisfaction. “Let them think we dematerialized the bars. It won’t bother Grammel, but it might make the troops uneasy. I want anyone trailing me to be as nervous as possible.””
“Leia moved closer, reached out uncertainly to touch his arm. He eyed her, then coughed. She sat back. Suddenly she began screaming. Luke looked around but there was nothing in sight.
Bending over, the Princess screamed into clasped hands. The muffled wail continued for several minutes. When it ended, she looked back up at him again without apology.
“I’m all right now, I think,” she said with forced steadiness.”
3. Love how eepy Luke is.
“Hin bared sharp canines, grabbed Luke by the neck. Luke stared resolutely at his furry visage. Abruptly, the hand moved away and Hin nodded slowly, giving out an apologetic grunt.”
-
“Luke was looking past her. On the other side of the stream they’d been following grew a small forest of water plants, apparently stimulated by the steady flow of fresh nutrients here. The huge leafy pads floating on the black surface were a dull, yellow-brown color. They were round and pointed slightly at two ends where the upturned edges met.
“You can’t,” Leia commented, “be thinking of traveling on one of those.””
-
“”I’m going to cut this one loose,” he announced.
The Princess looked skeptical. “With what? Your saber? I didn’t know they operated under water.”
He gazed back at her solemnly. “They’d better.””
-
“A voice sang fancifully in the back of his mind. It was exorting him to relax. Well, that was simple enough to do, he reflected pleasantly. Relax he would. He was tired, so tired now.”
-
“What had riveted his attention was not the Coway’s continuing methods of medication, nor the vanquished warrior’s convulsive reactions to them, but a large rock. As big as a man’s head, it lay in the water close by the Coway’s head.
His fingertips retained the memory of that stone. It was the one he’d encountered prior to passing out. Or had he passed out? It seemed as if something deep inside him, some resource of which he was unaware, had reacted on the brink of asphyxiation to help him raise the rock, turn and fling it at his tormentor.
Yet he couldn’t recall even placing both hands around it, let alone lifting it clear of the water and throwing.
“How did I do it?” he asked the Princess.
She eyed him uncertainly. “Do? Do what?”
“Beat … him,” he added exhaustedly, gesturing loosely toward the Coway fighter.”
-
“Suddenly his hand opened as if he’d been shot. The pink bulb fell to the ground as Luke stood bolt upright, eyes open and staring. The Princess rose, tried to make something of the gaping expression on his face.
“Luke… what’s wrong?” He took a couple of unsteady steps.
“Was it the fruit, boy?” Halla looked equally concerned. “Boy?”
Luke blinked, turned slowly to face them all. “What?”
“We were worried, Master Luke. You…” But Threepio broke off as Luke turned away to stare eastward.
“He’s coming,” he murmured, every letter resounding. “He’s near, very near.”
“Luke boy, you’d better start making some sense of I’ll have Hin hold you down and feed you dipills,” Halla said. “Who’s coming?”
“There was a stirring,” Luke whispered by way of reply. “A profound disturbance in the Force. I’ve felt it before, weakly. I felt it most strongly when Ben Kenobi was killed.”
Leia inhaled in terror, her eyes widening. “No, not him again, not here.”
“Something blacker than night stirs the Force, Leia,” Luke told her. “This Governor Essada must have contacted him, sent him here. He’d be especially interested in locating you and me.””
-
“”I guess I’m probably the cause of that.” They all turned to face Luke. Just as I sensed Vader, he no doubt can sense me. He’s had a lot more experience in the Force than I have, so his senses are probably stronger. Don’t forget, he was a pupil of Obi-Wan Kenobi.” He glanced back toward the shaft-tunnel leading to the surface of Mimban.
“He’s coming for us.”
-
“Luke felt a wild sense of elation as he brandished his father’s weapon. “I’m not worried about anything, Vader. Not now. I have no more worries and only one concern.” His voice held an unaccustomed hint of conviction. “I’m going to kill you, Darth Vader.”
That humorless laugh again. “What a high opinion you hold of yourself, Skywalker.”
“I’m… I’m Ben Kenobi,” Luke whispered in an odd way.
For just a moment, Vader seemed shaken.”
-
“Luke’s motionless form was enveloped in a rich, red bath of light. In his hands the crystal shone with a brilliance unnatural. Nor was the light still. It shifted, fluttered, ran over him like a live thing. It sought out every extremity, each finger and follicle, like the St. Elmo’s fire of old on the rigging of a sailing ship.
After several long, rapturous moments the radiant envelope shrank, sucked up by the crystal which resumed its normal coloring.
Luke sat up so abruptly that Halla was unable to repress a short screech. He blinked once, looked at her.”
-
“”I don’t understand,” Luke murmured. But he hefted the crystal again in both hands, closed his eyes and tried to concentrate and relax at the same time. The glow from the crystal intensified.
“I understand,” came a voice out of Luke’s body that might or might not have been Luke’s.”
-
Like Luke spends half the book scaring people and making them uncomfortable. He’s perfect. I love him.
And some more Luke scenes because these could go in wildly different directions and I need someone else to see them:
“”Oh no, Captain-Supervisor!” Luke cried, dropping to his knees and clutching desperately at Grammel’s trouser legs. “Please don’t do that. They’ll have us executed. Please, we’ll work till we drop, but don’t send us back there!” He was sobbing openly now.”
“Wiping tears conjured with difficulty away from his eyes, Luke tried not to appear too hopeful as he regarded Grammel.”
“Reaching with both arms, the Coway warrior clasped Luke around the shoulders and pulled. Luke thought he’d have to use the saber after all, when the native pushed him away gently. Then it slapped him on one cheek.”
“”Well…” Using his right hand, he belted the quiescent Coway hard enough to rattle the native’s teeth. Despite Halla’s assurances, he braced himself for some sort of violent response. Instead, the native displayed a satisfied expression and dropped to his knees before Luke as the crowd howled its approval.”
“Only his neck still bothered him. It ached at the back, where the Coway’s unyielding fingers had pressed.”
-
And, finally, here’s a collection of Leia lines that I can perfectly hear in Anakin’s voice:
“Turning serious, the Princess told him, “One learns to accept whatever events life has in store with the best possible spirits.” She stared straight ahead.
“That’s just what I’m doing,” Luke confessed, “accepting them in the bets possible spirits—nervousness and fear.”
“Well, you needn’t look at me as if this is all my fault.”
“Did I imply that? Did I say that?” Luke countered, a touch more tightly than he intended. She glanced sharply at him and he cursed his inability to conceal his feelings. He would have been, he decided, a rotten card-player. Or politician.
“No, but you so much as…” she began hotly.”
-
“”Do you have any idea who I am?” the Princess started to tell her. She caught herself just in time. “Not that it matters. What does matter is that you can’t do it, can you?”
Halla started to object but the Princess cut her off challengingly. “Can you?”
-
“”Temples, gods, crystals,” the Princess murmured. “Okay, suppose this legendary place does exist,” she hypothesized, jabbing an accusing finger at Halla. “This Kaiburr crystal, just what is it supposed to be… a big gemstone of some kind?””
-
“Still skeptical, the Princess sat back and looked in askance at Halla. “A small fragment of radiant glass or plastic, or an ordinary silicate treated to glow. You expect me to accept that as proof?””
-
(Honestly, the entire scene of them talking with Halla in chapter 4 is just filled with Leia being Anakin.)
-
“The Princess noticed her one victim recovering consciousness and kicked him soundly.”
-
“She concentrated her stare on the middle of the sergeant’s back, trying to drive him insane. The sergeant showed no hint of being affected. Probably solid bone under the helmet, she mused.”
-
“She whispered back tightly, “You have this wonderfully evocative way about you, Luke, of reducing the most excruciatingly uncomfortable circumstances to the merely mundane.”
Luke looked hurt.”
-
“”That’s funny,” noted the Princess, “because you strike me as having a particularly limited capacity for learning.”
-
“Thanks to the tactics being employed by the Imperials, Luke discovered that the Princess was too furious to be really frightened.”
-
(A lot of the earlier quotes also have this vibe. I love Leia so much.)
All in all, would I recommend Splinter of the Mind’s Eye? Sure. It’s 12 chapters, 298 pages, not too long, and it has the first lightsaber throwing, the first instance of Luke lifting anything in the Force, it’s the first mention of kyber crystals (spelled “kaiburr” but still), it’s one of the only times in the entire series Leia wields Anakin’s lightsaber (and she’s really cool doing it), it has if not the worst then a very poor portrayal of Darth Vader, and Luke and Leia both come back from the dead because of space magic. Really, it’s a rollercoaster of a read and I highly enjoyed it, somehow.

Can I say that other the horrifying look of that anime centaur creature she looks like she is from those types of those cash grab gacha games that rely heavily on fanservice to exort desperate horny incel people with heavy paywalls
(Also not helping that the model looks somewhat similar in style to hoyoverse games though also relying on a gacha system for monetization are decent games with intresting stories)
yeah I think you're right she has the gatcha game style which makes it even more bizarre to me. was there a board meeting about her? how many drafts did they have to go to before settling on this creature? do people find her sexy? what are her stats-

GRA Part Two - Going Deeper into the Crypt
(If you haven't already, read Part 1 for some much needed context!) Continuing on from my last post about GRA, we descend deeper into the Szarr family crypt, culminating with a confrontation with the Vampire Lord himself, Cazador.
This is going to be very fragmented, since all I have to go off of is the flag files, and most of the time they're not the most descriptive. I'll try and fill in what I can. This is no guarantee that this is in order. Corridor Vampire
This would have been an encounter with a vampire in a corridor (duh). They would asked the player if they could drink their blood, which the player could either let them, or refused. If feeling especially murder-hobo, they could even fight them. If we go with the theory that Cazador is starving the Cliff Thralls mentioned in the previous post, they're most likely starving for blood too, and fits in with Astarion's background as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Brick Thralls/Brick Vampire/Trapped Crypt
Going deeper into the crypt, you would have met more thralls of Cazador's near a brick wall that either lead on to a balcony and Cazador's area. The player could realize that the thralls were mute and therefore unable to speak to them for an unknown reason.
Tumblr media
Of course, the player could make the decision to fight their way through the thralls...
Tumblr media
Nearby, there was another vampire, named the Brick Vampire, who would have been distrubed by the player's attempts to get through the wall. When they noticed the player, they would attempt to get them to pay a tax from Cazador to get through... but players could find out that it wasn't a real tax, but an exortion attempt from the Brick Vampire! They could be called on their exortion attempt and refuse to pay. The player could either try an intimidation check on the Brick Vampire OR call them on their bluff.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The brick wall in question could be either climbed over or rammed by players. This would potentially lead on to an area known as TrappedCrypt. There's also some really unclear flags about Cazador teleporting to your side of the wall? I can't really make sense of where these were supposed to go, so I'll post the names of them here in case that helps folks:
GRA_BrickThralls_State_RamingDoneThrallsSide GRA_TrappedCrypt_Event_WeakWallHolePassed GRA_BrickWall_State_BalconySideNotEmpty GRA_TrappedCrypt_Event_WeakWallSuccessfullyRamed GRA_TrappedCrypt_Knows_WeakWallInvestigationSuccess GRA_BrickWall_State_BossSideNotEmpty GRA_BrickWall_Event_BalconyTeleToBoss GRA_BrickWall_Event_BossTeleToBalcony GRA_TrappedCrypt_State_WeakWallClimbFailure GRA_TrappedCrypt_Event_WeakWallRamingFailure GRA_VampireCorridor_State_RamingDoneBossSide GRA_TrappedCrypt_State_WeakWallBalconySide GRA_TrappedCrypt_State_WeakWallBossSide Lower Crypt Vampire
As the player presumably heads closer and closer to Cazador, they would meet a vampire guarding a flight of stairs. The vampire would warn them that the stairs were forbidden, but could persaude them to let them pass... or fight their way through.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Presumably, if the persausion check passed, the Lower Crypt Vampire would allow the player to pass, and give them the way to get to Cazador.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
VampireBoss/Cazador
The reason why we went to GRA in the first place ;) After making your way through GRA, you would then meet with Cazador. At first, players wouldn't know that the thralls that you meet earlier's master and Cazador were one and the same, but the connection could possibly be made:
Tumblr media
Cazador, depending on the state of events that occured in GRA, would be alerted by the thralls/vampires/death of said vampires and thralls that you were coming:
Tumblr media
There were two paths you could potentially take with Cazador: either allying with him to stop the Absolute/The Butcher, by passing a persausion check, or siding with The Butcher and killing him (Astarion approves?)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If sided with against The Butcher, he would have presented the player with an unknown reward. Nothing here about him helping you with the Absolute, however. This is where the old rumour of "Cazador would help you against the Absolute" comes from btw.
Tumblr media
The Butcher's Apprentice/Ohler
The *other* reason why we're in GRA. The sequence of events is unclear, but it would seem like he disappeared within GRA and The Butcher would send you to find out what happened. We find out his fate here - potentially via Cazador, since there's an option from the Cliff Thralls to ask him what happened to Ohler. Spoiler alert: he's dead, killed by a character only known as Desire/Alluring. While Alluring is only mentioned in the flag dealing with the fate of Ohler, Desire is much more interesting. You see, Desire is the internal name of Florrick, and she's still referred to as such in the final:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Does this mean that Desire/Florrick was a vampire, since Ohler was killed by her in the feeding ground? Or was she captured by Cazador/Ohler/The Butcher? Or maybe even that Desire was a completly different character, and Florrick ended up in her slot?
Even in patch 9 of EA, Florrick was still referred to as Desire:
Tumblr media
We may never know </shrug> but it's extremly interesting nonetheless! End
Now that our brief adventure into GRA has concluded, I'd like to leave some parting words. These flags are what little is left of GRA in the final game. I don't think there's any 3D assets/voice files etc left for this in final. There is a small chance there might be some more content regarding GRA in EA builds, but I think this is all we have for now. I also can't say how Astarion/the other Origins would have reacted - I can't imagine Astarion being pleased with allying with Cazador. Anyway, thanks for reading! I'm really grateful for everyone who reads anything I post, so thank you so much!! I hope you all have a wonderful day, and I hope to post some more stuff soon!! Now, I have to get to bed because it's almost 2am here haha.

Random Morthy headcanon
Sometimes I forget that Morthy is an alternate version of Moloch and that yuramec (Morthy's creator) also made a human Moloch design.
And what do both designs have in common?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
MOLOCH IS BUILT LIKE. A. FUCKING. TANK
And I wanted to apply the same treatment to Morthy.
Looking at a bit more into his design (note that there isn't much "canon" material I can base this on) it doesn't look like Morthy has the same buff that Moloch has, although it's hard to tell with the clothes he's wearing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But I still like to think that he does some exercise due to his paranoia of being attacked by Gadreel at any moment.
If he has nothing to exortize Gadreel with, he fist fight the demon.

Multiple Elements Character Tournament - Round 1 (C) 1/12
Tumblr media
Carl, the Invoker: Fire, Ice, and Storm
Eidolon: Ice, Water, Lightning, Air, Sound, Light, Time, and Gravity
Propaganda under the cut
Carl, the Invoker: Carl is an immortal elven mage and one of the most iconic Dota heroes ever designed. While most characters in the game have 4 (or maybe 5) abilities, Invoker has 10 using all the different combinations of his elemental orbs, Quas, Wex, and Exort, making him one of the highest skill cap characters in the game (at one time, it was actually 27!). In lore, Invoker is a hilariously insufferable asshole, completely self-absorbed. His arrogance is towering, but not empty- he's the oldest and quite possibly the most powerful mortal in the Ancient conflict. He can use his rune manipulation to not just manifest basic applications of the elements (ice walls, meatballs meteors, tornadoes), but also more exotic effects (invisibility, mana draining, spirit summoning). Also, any propaganda would be incomplete without his responses page - (https://dota2.fandom.com/wiki/Invoker/Responses) where you can listen to his voicelines to get a sense for his character yourself.
Eidolon: Eidolon's the most powerful person on earth, and has never chosen a single thing for himself. He's practically invincible, but personally incredibly fragile and spends his whole life in pursuit of self-contradictory heroics that eventually consume him. He does try to help people- dedicates his whole life to helping people, actually, but he's fundamentally limited by his own psyche. Elementally, he's nigh limitless. His shard can lend him any number of elemental powers, with all levels of usefulness and versatility.
