Paper Artist, Nahoko Kojima (小島 奈保子) is a professional contemporary Japanese paper cut artist, born in Hyogo, Japan in 1981. She started Kirie (Japanese Papercutting) at the age of 5 and continued throughout her youth. In 1999 she moved to Tokyo and in 2004 she graduated from a degree in Design at Kuwasawa Institute. She briefly pursued a career in Graphic Design in Tokyo before moving to London in 2005 to learn more of the Western culture of the Arts. Her first solo Paper Cut show in London exhibited the 5 senses collection at the Epicurean Lounge in 2007.
Nahoko Kojima’s reinterpretation of traditionally flat mounted paper cut art as large-scale, sculpture-like paper cut creations is based on her childhood memories of lying in a meadow, observing the ever-changing of shadows cast by flowers swaying in the wind. These grand works, often suspended mid-air, prompt the audience to explore the surrounding space and observe how light and angles change one’s perception.
Her most ambitious project to date is Shiro, a life-sized recreation of a blue whale made from only 2 sheets of washi paper. Cut and installed by Kojima herself, Shiro took nearly one year to complete before it was unveiled in Bangkok.

BAD BUDDY FILMING LOCATIONS 9
This post is a continuation of my eight previous ones on filming locations for Bad Buddy (linked here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7 and Part 8 ), and focuses on one building in particular.
I had originally believed that this location would be quickly found because its appearance in Bad Buddy was so full of distinctive visual details, especially external ones that are particularly helpful in tracking down filming venues.
But it turned out to be another one of those places that was almost impossible to find, and it overturned all my expectations and eluded discovery at every turn. 😮
Of course, I'm talking about the LogTech Building.
(above) Ep.3 [3I4] 13.14
Oh the hubris and the comeuppance! It took me more than nine months, three-quarters of a year, before I could find it. And I think this was only possible because Google Search is getting ever more powerful (ominous music sounding here).
But after months of searching I can now say with certainty that the role of Bad Buddy's LogTech Building was played by Index Creative Village – homebase for the creative agency of the same name – and not only was it the setting for LogTech, another Bad Buddy location also had its home there (but more on that later). 😊
(top) The location of Index Creative Village on plan; (bottom) this image of Index Creative Village's secondary entrance is extracted from a photo on Google Maps by effe relax channel and is dated September 2022 – the bare concrete columns, window framing, potted plants and timber-louvered sunshading are all matching details that can be seen in Bad Buddy
Index Creative Village is known for being an events organizing company in Thailand, but in reality the group engages in all sorts of creative pursuits, including media consulting, communications, multimedia/stage/exhibition design and branding services.
Index's address on their website is 545 Soi Pridi Bhanomyong 42, Sukhumvit 71 Road, Klongton Nuea, Wattana, Bangkok 10110, but Google Maps shows them along Phanit Anan Yeak 12 Alley instead. 🤷♂️ Whichever it is, their map coordinates are 13.73303648651331, 100.60230473624077, not far from the Jasmine 59 Hotel that was the location for Pat's post-graduation apartment (write-up linked here).
(top) Ep.3 [2/4] 4.04 – note the signboard circled in red; (bottom) in this image from an online article (dated 18 April 2013 and linked here), the signboard and white roller blinds of Index Creative Village's on-site café are a match, while the Epipremnum aureum climbing the flanking trees is also a corroborating detail
(top) Ep.3 [2/4] 4.14; (bottom) this statue of a big cat at Index Creative Village (from the same article linked here) matches what we see behind the LogTech receptionist
(top) Ep.3 [2/4] 6.17; (bottom) this screencap at timestamp 2.51 of YouTube video "Index Creative Village มุ่งจัดอีเวนท์แบบไฮบริด ผสมเทคโนโลยีกับชีวิตจริง | Digital Life | SPRiNG" (linked here) shows the meeting room at Index Creative Village and is a match for the Ep.3 [2/4] scene of Pat and Pran presenting the bus stop design to LogTech (corroborating details are the matching chairs, table, curtains and silver column to the left of the projector screen)
(top) Ep.3 [2/4] 6.19, showing LogTech's boss and executives evaluating PatPran's bus stop design; (bottom) this screencap at timestamp 1.53 of the same YouTube video mentioned above (linked here) is also a match – the timber-slatted wall treatment and chairs are the same (the gentleman conducting the meeting is Index Creative Village's founder and CEO Khun Kreingkrai Kanjanapokin)
(above left) LogTech's mermaid and dolphin water feature appear in Bad Buddy at Ep.3 [3I4] 13.14; (above right) Index Creative Village's mermaid and dolphin can be seen in this image extracted from a photo on the company's Facebook dated 6 March 2017 (linked here) – the mermaid must have acquired her sunburn sometime between 2017 and Bad Buddy's filming in 2021
(above left) Ep.3 [3I4] 14.02; (above right) the logo and text that we see behind Pat are the branding for Anya Meditec, which is also located at Index Creative Village
(top left) Ep.3 [3I4] 13.41; (top right) Ep.12 [1I4] 6.11; (bottom) this image dated 5 March 2020 is extracted from a photo on Index Creative Village's Facebook (linked here) and shows their brick feature wall with the word "INDEX" spelt in relief, which is what we see behind behind Pran and Wai in their scenes outside the LogTech Building
(top) Ep.12 [1I4] 5.19; (bottom) Index Creative Village launched a disinfection service (Kill & Klean) at the start of the COVID pandemic – in this photo dated 22 April 2020 from Facebook (linked here) the red 'K' on the monitor (part of the Kill & Klean logo) can also be seen on the disinfection system (targeting footwear and lower legs) behind Pat at Ep.12 [1I4] 5.19, while the giant taro plant (Alocasia macrorrhizos, I think) in its dragon urn at the left of the image also matches what we see to Pat's left
There are many, many other corroborating images for LogTech – too many to post here, but you can view them on Google Maps as well as Index Creative Village's Facebook and Instagram.
But that's not all. Index Creative Village was also the setting for one more location – and that was Pran's architectural office in Singapore. 👍
(above) Ep.12 [1I4] 5.07
There are a number of visual details in the screencap above that reveal more information about its filming location:
The window framing behind Pran is all vertical.
Outside the window we can see another wing of the building with the same vertical window treatment (and it matches the glass wall design that we see at Ep.3 [3I4] 13.14) – what we can deduce is that the building is somewhat U-shaped here, enclosing a kind of courtyard.
There is some type of green planting in the courtyard (either a tree or some very tall bushes) – just visible through the legs of Pran's table.
To the right of Pran, the top portion of what looks like a curved or spiral staircase can be seen beyond the window.
Above the staircase, we can see the geometric segments of a membrane canopy.
At the top left of the image, we can see a structural beam connecting the two wings of the building at the roofline.
The following images of Index Creative Village contain corroborating details:
(top left) This aerial view of Index Creative Village from Google Maps shows its courtyard with a membrane canopy, highlighted by the dotted red circle; (top right) this close-up of the spiral staircase in the courtyard is from a photo dated 16 June 2017 on the company's Facebook, linked here; (bottom) this screencap from YouTube video "คอลัมน์ Marketing 3.0 ตอน Content vs Contact" at timestamp 0.01 (linked here) shows Index Creative Village CEO Khun Kreingkrai Kanjanapokin descending the spiral staircase with the courtyard tree, vertical window framing and connecting structural beam all visible behind him
Another view of Index Creative Village can be seen from the elevated Chalong Rat Expressway to the east:
(above left) Index Creative Village's east façade as at September 2022, viewed from Chalong Rat Expressway using Google Maps Street View; (above right) this close-up (unavoidably grainy though) shows the mid-level courtyard with its two-and-a-half story tall tree, spiral staircase on the left and fabric canopy partially hidden behind the framing red beam that connects one wing to the other at the roofline
One thing that the filming at Index Creative Village shows is that the production team tried as much as possible to shoot all related scenes within the location chosen as their setting – both the internal and external LogTech scenes were filmed at Index Creative Village.
We saw this also at the Jindapat and Siridechawat houses (with the inside and outside of Mason Studio used for indoor and outdoor scenes at Pat and Pran's family homes; see this write-up linked here), as well as at Pat's faculty (write-up linked here) and most of Pran's faculty (write-up linked here). The high school scenes were also all shot at the Satit Bilingual School.
There are only two composited locales that I can recall. The first is the scene where Pat goes to pass a thumb drive to Pran (Ep.5 [1I4], starting from timestamp 6.39 – the faculty location morphs from the RSU College of Engineering to the RSU Student Center at timestamp 7.35 even though it's all supposed to be taking place at the same building). The second is Uncle Tong's Zero Waste Village in episodes 6 and 11, although that made-up location was nevertheless all filmed within the seaside district of Hua Hin (write-up linked here).
This emphasis on maintaining consistent IRL locations for set locales would have greatly aided the actors in staying within the correct frame of mind for the narrative, and would also have minimized jarring continuity errors (e.g., in wardrobe and hair length).
These issues would have been harder to manage had they filmed exterior scenes outside one building and interior scenes inside another one or in a man-made set (which GMMTV doesn't seem to do for whatever reason – primarily to avoid set construction costs, I would assume).
Not something you'd often think about, but it's one of the things you realize when you look more closely at the filming locations. In my opinion, not filming in artificial sets (no matter how well designed and constructed they may be) certainly adds to the authenticity of the overall visual experience. 👍 Just one more reason why I love Bad Buddy!
[Afterpost Edit – here are the links to all the filming location posts:
Part 1 – The legendary rooftop, PatPran’s student apartments, their high school, the white arches behind the Engineering Canteen, the Zero Waste Village and various seaside scenes, their honeymoon suite, the hospital where Pat was treated for his gunshot graze, and the high school reunion.
Part 2 – Pat and Pran’s family homes, the Flagpole Bar, the car park fight location, and the Jae Si Curry House.
Part 3 – Various locations at and around the rugby field, including Pat’s photoshoot with Ink, the rugby bleachers, the iced milk tea (and green tea wave) picnic table, InkPa’s photography picnic, the old bus stop and the new bus stop. Also Khun Noppharnach’s pharmacy.
Part 4 – Pat’s Engineering Faculty (in and around Rangsit University’s College of Engineering).
Part 5 – Pran’s Architecture Faculty (Rangsity University’s School of Architecture).
Part 6 – Various F&B and commercial locations (eateries, shops, malls and a market). Also the setting for Pat, Pran and Wai's fight at the base of PatPran's student apartment building, as well as the scene where Pa says to Ink "Anyone taller than me is fine".
Part 7 – Pat’s post-graduation apartment and Pran’s residence in Singapore.
Part 8 – Various campus locations filmed within Rangsit University’s Digital Multimedia Complex, including the auditorium and the Freshy Day Song Contest.
Part 9 – The LogTech Building and Pran’s architectural office in Singapore.
Part 10 – Locations for the Our Skyy 2 x Bad Buddy special episodes.
Part 11 – The apartment for rent that Pran went to view in Ep.2, the elevator scene with Pat just after the viewing, and Wai’s apartment.
Part 12 – PatPran’s elementary and high schools, as well as the location of Pa’s near-drowning.
Part 13 – Random locations (Pran searching for his lost earphones, the covered car park where Wai spied on Pat serenading Pran with Nanon's Love Score, the airport car park, the SouthTech U Library, PatPran's rainy day ointment interlude, their motorbike and truck rides in Hua Hin, the approach road to Uncle Yod's bar, the filming location for the music videos Just Friend? and Our Song, and Pran's street address in Singapore).
Will update this list if I can track down the hardware stores – the one remaining location still unidentified! 🤣]

Discover the Fascinating World of Museums in Thailand
Thailand, one of the world's most popular travel destinations for backpackers, is renowned for its wonderful climate and exotic beaches. However, this nation has a lengthy history involving numerous kingdoms and political forces. This has allowed for the introduction of numerous traditions and civilizations. Visit some of the museums in Thailand that provide you with a rich and thorough history for the greatest method to learn about Thailand's past. There are many fascinating museums that are not just limited to history and will astound you.
Jim Thompson House Museum
Jim Thompson, an architect from the United States, spent approximately 25 years residing and working in Thailand. His fascinating life story begins when he served in World War II as a soldier and later made the Thai silk business well-known all over the world. The Jim Thompson house was a teak home that Jim personally designed and built, and he concentrated on decorating it with priceless Asian art silk pieces that he had gathered from all across Thailand. The house's traditional Thai architecture is on display year-round at this well-known museum in Thailand, where you can also learn more about Jim's life story and purchase some artwork.
National Museum
The enormous National Museum Bangkok, which is distributed across six separate structures and isn't typically classified as a single museum, houses a wide variety of ethnological collections of Thai art, antiquities, instruments, furniture, costumes, and other objects from previous Thai kings. This one of the interesting museums in Thailand is ideal for learning about the country's rich history, art, culture, and traditions in one location. The Buddha footprint from the Sukhothai period, the Buddha Jawan Chapel, and King Pinklao's bedroom furnishings are just a few of the unique and well-known displays. You can either go inside on your own or with a guide to learn more from them.
Siriraj Medical Museum
The Siriraj Medical Museum in Bangkok, which is horrifying yet fascinating, is appropriately referred to as the Death Museum in Thailand. It contains some of the most bizarre exhibitions, so it's not for the faint of heart. This exhibit is intense, featuring malformed and ill children's dead bodies preserved in formaldehyde alongside the skulls and skeletons of murder and rape victims. More exhibits cover the development of forensic medicine, graphic images of people dying in disasters, diseased organs, animal organs, and many more objects. Medical students from Thailand and other countries frequent the museum on a regular basis. Today, a large number of tourists visit this location to see this incredibly educational museum with Thailand tour packages.
Phuket Trickeye Museum
For your family's day out, the three-dimensional, mind-blowing, and weird trick-eye museum of Phuket promises a delightful diversion from Phuket's beaches. More than 100 painted and sculpted scenes put you in absurd circumstances. There are numerous galleries with works by Van Gogh and Da Vinci, such as a humorous recreation of the Mona Lisa, a zombie, or scenes from a movie where you are standing in front of a waterfall or strolling through the streets of a picturesque Italian town. At this Thai museum, visitors of all ages can be seen attempting to take the ideal, authentic photographs of the exhibits, which is funny not just for kids. There are also snacks and drinks accessible inside the museum.
Bangkok Art and Cultural Centre
The cutting-edge Bangkok Work and Culture Centre (BACC) presents work that represents Bangkok's developing contemporary scene. In addition to art and design, this museum of fine arts also features works by Thai and foreign artists in the fields of music, theater, photography, and film. The visitor has the ideal opportunity to savor Thailand tours contemporary art and culture in this enormous nine-story structure with its wide-ranging galleries and exquisite interior. The museum is very well curated, featuring everything from large sculptures to tiny installations. There are frequently held photography exhibitions and award ceremonies to help the artists get the recognition they deserve. Visitors can unwind in the art library and numerous modest cafes.
Thai-Burma Railway Centre Museum
Showcasing the illustrious history of the 145-kilometer Thai-Burma railway that was constructed during the Second World War. This railway, sometimes known as the "Death Railway," caused the deaths of between 75,000 and 100,000 Asian construction workers and approximately 12,000 Allied POWs. These were the individuals who were subjected to the brutal authority of the Imperial Japanese Army and suffered from ailments like starvation. This is one of the amazing places to visit in Thailand to explore during your tours to Thailand. It is the most instructive exposition to learn about how the Thai people were handled during the World War since it has numerous images and descriptions of railway buildings, prisoner living circumstances, and death casualties, among other topics.

We leave Bangkok on a Koh Samui-bound overnight bus this evening so I thought I would wrap up some Bangkok highlights. Today we visited Bangkok Art and Cultural Centre which was amazing. There was no entrance fee and so much amazing art, so definitely worth the slightly confusing public bus ride.
This was one of the first installations I saw and I felt drawn to it, especially the way the hoops and the textured fabric within cast shadows on the wall.
I really like this art style. Would love to get a similar style tattooed on me; the wobbly concentric lines in the tree remind me of a topographic map, creates so much depth!
This was one of my favourite artworks there, all the way from South Australia! The colours and patterns are so stunning. Funny to come all the way to Bangkok to see artwork created so close to home, but absolutely gorgeous.
This picture doesn’t show it, but each of these artworks are tufted rugs! They were super intriguing and played with themes of capitalism, war and beauty, using some traditional Persian patterns within designs of navy ships, tanks and the like, one driven by none other than Mickey Mouse. I think that’s quite an interesting symbolic figure.
This one I found quite eye-catching. Alongside many other similar painted figures mounted on the wall it definitely makes a statement. There was a lot of phallic imagery in this installation, and also used specific political and religious figures such as Boris Johnson, Gandhi, Buddha, etc. combined with themes of neoliberalism, late-stage capitalism, patriarchy, war and religion… and ultimately world destruction. Slay.
Finally, we saw an exhibition about the cats of bangkok !!!! This was a scandal because someone clearly hacked my Tumblr and found my cats of bangkok drafted post and stole my idea/cats. Both Bella and Luca can verify that I had this idea long before we saw this exhibition. But the fear of comparison won’t stop me, keep your eyes peeled later on for an intimate portrait of the many cats we have come across on the streets of Bangkok.
Overall I really enjoyed this experience! Definitely worth a visit if you’re ever in Bangkok. The Art Café (whose wifi i am currently using to post this) is also great.

I discovered tourmaline in Bangkok about 10 years ago, it used to be fairly cheap and funky, amazing colours attracting passers by in Silom. It is indeed an astonishing creation of nature.
"Tourmaline is a fascinating gemstone that is known for its wide range of colours and unique properties. It is a crystalline mineral composed of complex borosilicate compounds and belongs to the cyclosilicate mineral group. Tourmaline is cherished for its beauty and versatility.
One of the most remarkable aspects of tourmaline is its incredible colour range. It can be found in almost every color of the rainbow, including green, blue, red, pink, yellow, brown, black, and even colorless varieties. Some tourmalines even exhibit multiple colors within a single crystal, referred to as “bi-color” or “watermelon” tourmalines. This extensive color palette makes tourmaline a popular choice among gem enthusiasts and jewelry designers.
Tourmaline derives its name from the Sinhalese word “turmali,” which means “mixed colors.” This name aptly reflects the gem’s diverse range of hues. The gemstone has been known to various cultures for centuries, but it gained popularity in Europe during the 18th century when it was imported from Sri Lanka.
Apart from its captivating colors, tourmaline exhibits interesting optical properties. Many tourmaline crystals have a property called pleochroism, meaning they can display different colors when viewed from different angles. This optical phenomenon adds to the gemstone’s allure and makes each piece unique.

From contemporary art that challenges the status quo to historical museums preserving the rich tapestry of Thai culture, these venues offer a deeper understanding and appreciation of the artistic and historical narratives that shape Thailand.
Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA Bangkok)
MOCA Bangkok showcases the progressive art scene in Thailand, offering five floors of contemporary works that push boundaries and provoke thought. Open from Tuesday to Sunday, the museum is a beacon for art enthusiasts, featuring works that challenge conventions and explore deep cultural themes. Its architecture alone is a masterpiece, encouraging visitors to ponder the symbiotic relationship between traditional Thai art and modern expression.
Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC)
Positioned at the heart of the city near the National Stadium BTS station, the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre is a pivotal point for creative minds. It's not just a museum but a vibrant hub of art, music, film, and theatre. The space is a melting pot of local and international artists showcased through an ever-changing roster of exhibitions and performances. With its open layout, BACC invites a seamless interaction with art, from spontaneous gallery visits to planned cultural events, enhanced by cafes and art shops that dot the venue.
Jim Thompson House Museum
This museum is a tribute to American businessman and architect Jim Thompson, who was known for revitalizing the Thai silk industry. The complex, set in the heart of Bangkok, houses his vast collection of Asian art and is an architectural marvel featuring several traditional Thai structures. Each building is a capsule of history, relocated from different parts of Thailand, offering visitors a tactile insight into the country's rich cultural heritage.
Lido Connect
Lido Connect is a dynamic multi-use space that has breathed new life into the former Lido Movie Theater, transforming it into a cultural hub in Bangkok's bustling Siam Square. This venue seamlessly blends entertainment, retail, and creative art spaces. It hosts diverse events, from film screenings and art exhibitions to live performances, making it a cornerstone for the community's creative activities. The modern design retains nods to its cinematic past, creating a nostalgic yet contemporary atmosphere where the arts thrive.
River City Bangkok
Known as the "Anchor of Arts & Antiques," River City Bangkok is the go-to place for art lovers and collectors. Located along the Chao Phraya River, this venue hosts an array of galleries and auction houses that feature rare and exquisite pieces from across Southeast Asia. Its proximity to major hotels and accessibility by both car and boat make it a convenient stop for a cultured afternoon.
Museum Siam
Dedicated to the history of the Thai people and their interactions with neighboring cultures, Museum Siam uses modern technology and interactive exhibits to engage visitors. Established in 2007 in the former Ministry of Commerce building, the museum challenges and entertains with displays that delve into national identity through immersive storytelling techniques. It's where history meets creativity, located in the historic district near other prominent landmarks.
Exploring Bangkok's cultural and artistic venues provides more than just a visual feast; it offers insight into the heart and soul of this bustling metropolis. Each location is a testament to the city's dynamic cultural evolution, bridging the past with the present through art and historical preservation.
