peacefield being "things may not be great, but we have plenty of time, things will get better :)" to excelsis being "everything has to end, everyone has to die, and that is scary, but there is still time" but SAD. i am unwell. i am also not conveying this thought well. i am. in the trenches.

So my fiance made a post in the r/ghostband subreddit about our experience listening to Excelsis in the car. Two people proceeded to go at it for a solid 30 comments in the reply’s arguing back and forth about if the song is good or not. The ghost subreddits are a cesspit of sadness and despair.

Excelsis didn't even feel like V slapped me in the face, it felt like he came up to me with a threateningly large shovel and gently dug out all the buried existential fear whilst shushing me and stroking my hair, then meeting me dead in the eyes, confiding in me in return, then suddenly he's gone and I'm crying alone

I can't get over the softness in Tob's voice in Excelsis, it's like he's trying to comfort the listener by showing them he's just like them, he's mortal and afraid of what's to come after eternity starts
