You know honestly my only wish for an Evoland 3 is that there are Demons in it, and that at least appearance wise, they keep pretty similar to the ones in 2

Because in Evoland 2, we never really get to see much of Demons/Demon culture, outside of the few things we learn in the first Past section, since at basically every other time, they’re a dying/destroyed culture and people. Menos is here sure, but most of what his dialogue relating to Demons has to do with saving them, or a few things he learned from his father/his backstory of being the crown prince

I’m almost certain that Evoland 3 would take place in a completely new universe or timeline, so having one where we can actually see the Demons just exist and have a culture would be really nice

Quasi-personal ramble about video games oh boy. Just wanted to talk about games I've been playing, and games I've been not playing. :v

So I started playing Genshin at the beginning-ish of January, and whoops it kinda became a hyperfixation and practically all I played for like 3 months. Last I checked, I already had over 450 hours in it :v I still haven't even booted up Fire Emblem Engage and now I'm playing other games too 🙃

As for what "other games". Like I posted a while back, I played Evoland 1 and 2. Great games, gameplay-wise. The story of 1 is just kind of a parody, which is fine. 2's story, especially its ending, doesn't really do it for me, and I'll leave it at that for now; this post is gonna be long enough as it is.

Friend of mine gifted me Momodora, so I gave that a run-through. Pretty good game. For as prominent in images as the titty witch seemed, she kinda just showed up twice and then died. Skill issue I guess.

As for right now, I just finished a playthrough of Metroid Prime Remastered today, and started playing the MMBN collection, starting with the first one of course.

Battle Network 3 was the first one I played when I was younger, and I have a lot of nostalgia for it, 5, and 6. Didn't play 1, 2, and 4 until later in life when I played them very legally on my real game boy advance.

MMBN1 definitely has that first-installment jank. The net is kinda confusing to navigate, especially the metro area. I also forgot it heals you after every battle. I feel like I never completed BN1 100%, because I don't think I ever fought Bass. I don't think I even knew he showed up as early as the first game. Also, Mega Man 8 came out in '96, time ain't real.

I suddenly have too many games I want to play and Tears of the Kingdom is less than a month away, which feels surreal. I'm going to play Fire Emblem Engage someday 🙃

Epic Games Store‘s latest freebie is Obsidian Entertainment and Bethesda Softworks‘s epic post-apocalyptic RPG Fallout: New Vegas – Ultimate Edition. It’s been almost two years since the Epic Games Store free games: “Evoland: Legendary Edition” and “Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition” article, but Fallout: New Vegas – Ultimate Edition finally follows suit. You know, it really does feel like Evoland 2’s missing a chunk of the game

Like, the way it ends is technically fine; granted it means all our characters are going to end up meeting horrible fates and also that we effectively have changed nothing. If the game was going for an ultimately depressing tone of “no you can’t truly change things, even if you can change a little”, that would work, but that doesn’t feel like that’s what it’s going for

It would work better if that were instead like a Neutral Ending scenario in Undertale, or like OneShot, where it can technically be the end, but there’s actually a True Ending to the story, and by continuing the game, we get that final chunk of the game that wraps up all the loose ends and gives us a happy ending, like the time loop ending and everyone getting a better outcome

It would be nice if the developers gave us that final story in the future, like some sort of update or patch to the game (though tragically I wouldn’t be able to play it, at least not for a while because I play on Switch). Unfortunately, considering the game came out like, 9 years ago and it technically already has a remaster/port with the Ultimate Edition, not to mention the game itself is pretty obscure, I don’t think it could ever get that ending

New year, new list of games I played LAST year! Once again I’m honestly pretty embarrassed by how much I bought this year. This was another year where I was very stressed out, particularly by work. And so I took a lot of commission and work breaks, then got more stressed, then stress bought more games. And what I’m getting at is that I started 2023 pretty fucking broke. But A) I’m about to be more broke cause I haven’t bought anything from the Steam Winter Sale and B) That just means I need to reopen commissions and work SUPER hard to get enough money to spend crazy amounts again.

For context, when I buy like a bajillion games at once it is me taking advantage of sales. So I’m not like, spending $60 on each of these games individually. Regardless, you can see the list under the readmore!

And there you have it! Everything I played throughout the year. I’m sure it’s missing some stuff but it’s good enough for me. Now you all can see the weird shit I spent actual money on like Duck Quacky. I know I’m like the only person who shares the lists of games they play but I write these every year because I will genuinely forget everything I played if I don’t, and I figure it’s just a fun extra thing to share at the end of the year. Please don’t judge my monetary decisions too much. I swear I’m feeding my family too! You gotta believe me!

As for this year? I’m hoping to spend less on games in 2023, which seems to be an impossible goal for me. It would be easier if games stopped going on sale for so cheap all the time. Maybe I need to get an even more expensive hobby so I can’t afford to buy anything for it (ha). But also there are a lot of games I own that I’m planning on playing this year. Obviously I want to continue chipping through my steam and itchio games. I want to continue my playthroughs of all mainline Final Fantasy, Pokemon, Dragon Quest, and Tales of games. But there’s some new stuff I also have my mind on this year. Classic Megaman, God of War, I’d like to make some time to play Enchanted Arms and Legend of Kay. And in general I’d like to play a lot more BIG games if possible. Games with bigger stories that are larger RPGs. I played a lot of RPGs this year but a lot of them were smaller or older. I’d like to play some meater RPGs this year.
