#Evoland 3

You know honestly my only wish for an Evoland 3 is that there are Demons in it, and that at least appearance wise, they keep pretty similar to the ones in 2

Because in Evoland 2, we never really get to see much of Demons/Demon culture, outside of the few things we learn in the first Past section, since at basically every other time, they’re a dying/destroyed culture and people. Menos is here sure, but most of what his dialogue relating to Demons has to do with saving them, or a few things he learned from his father/his backstory of being the crown prince

I’m almost certain that Evoland 3 would take place in a completely new universe or timeline, so having one where we can actually see the Demons just exist and have a culture would be really nice

Quasi-personal ramble about video games oh boy. Just wanted to talk about games I've been playing, and games I've been not playing. :v

So I started playing Genshin at the beginning-ish of January, and whoops it kinda became a hyperfixation and practically all I played for like 3 months. Last I checked, I already had over 450 hours in it :v I still haven't even booted up Fire Emblem Engage and now I'm playing other games too 🙃

As for what "other games". Like I posted a while back, I played Evoland 1 and 2. Great games, gameplay-wise. The story of 1 is just kind of a parody, which is fine. 2's story, especially its ending, doesn't really do it for me, and I'll leave it at that for now; this post is gonna be long enough as it is.

Friend of mine gifted me Momodora, so I gave that a run-through. Pretty good game. For as prominent in images as the titty witch seemed, she kinda just showed up twice and then died. Skill issue I guess.

As for right now, I just finished a playthrough of Metroid Prime Remastered today, and started playing the MMBN collection, starting with the first one of course.

Battle Network 3 was the first one I played when I was younger, and I have a lot of nostalgia for it, 5, and 6. Didn't play 1, 2, and 4 until later in life when I played them very legally on my real game boy advance.

MMBN1 definitely has that first-installment jank. The net is kinda confusing to navigate, especially the metro area. I also forgot it heals you after every battle. I feel like I never completed BN1 100%, because I don't think I ever fought Bass. I don't think I even knew he showed up as early as the first game. Also, Mega Man 8 came out in '96, time ain't real.

I suddenly have too many games I want to play and Tears of the Kingdom is less than a month away, which feels surreal. I'm going to play Fire Emblem Engage someday 🙃

The closest I can think of include:

1.) Some Castlevanias include upgrades that are unlocked and turned on by default. This game has these for things like being able to move at all, and you need to go through multiple menus to find them. At least one screen in the menu you need is deactivated by default and you need to activate it.

2.) Go full Evoland. The game starts as ascii graphics with grid based movement, where you can only move one direction and one square at a time. Everything is upgrades.

3.) Some way to gate even starting the game, likely inspired by copy protection tactics of older games.

I keep trying to come up with a metroidvania upgrade gimmick that's even dumber than stuff like Hollow Knight requiring you to spend a charm slot to see your location on the map, or Rebel: Trasmute making it possible to unequip your own HUD (i.e., thereby removing your health bar from the screen), but always come back to the fact that in the original PC version of Bunny Must Die! Chelsea and the 7 Devils, the opening room has to be completed while exclusively walking to the left because you need a specific upgrade to be able to walk to the right. This is a game from 2006, and the bit had already reached its ultimate form – I genuinely can't think of anywhere to go from there.

3 months ago, I got to The Anomaly in Evoland 2, which super set off my motion sickness and made me scared to finish my playthrough.

But also: I was right at the end of the game, and I really like it. So what if.... I just did my best and hoped I didn't get sick? (And then switched games when I did?)

I feel like Sabrina from Pokémon would be a good basis for an outfit for Ceres

They’re both characters with great psychic powers, and Sabrina’s got some stuff in her later designs that sort of indicate her holding back her power (the corset and rings)

Also I just like Sabrina’s outfit. It’s got sort of a sci fi look to me and I like that
