So, a bit of organisational stuff first:

THIS IS A 18+ EVENT. The game is officially 18+, and so is the community event for it. And well, considering we're throwing a bunch of cannibals into one tiny arena... Do be aware there's gonna be some 'spicy' topics (but no making out on the battlefield, that's what the lockers are for!)

Date: The event will start from August 5th onwards (so, a week after the Gortash week), the Discord Server and the Sign up however will open as soon as this post is published and will end on before then. That way we can set up matches and schedules in time.

Rules: The rulework used will be 5e and for the sake of fun and fair competition, some spells will be banned.

Place: The event will be hosted on a specifically created Discord Community Server and the matches themselves will take place in a VC, meaning; all Participants must be ready to use their voice aka talk while others may listen. Ofc, just spectators are welcome too. Otherwise what's the point of those pretty stages?

OCs: Custom Durges mandatory. No default Durges cuz it's hella immersion breaking. Please give him a moustache and a name if you want to play our fav white dragonboy.

Matchmaking: We aim to keep the Matchmaking as balanced and comfortable as possible, meaning participants of the same region and similar classes will be matched against each other where possible and all OCs will compete with lvl 20 stats, spells, spellslots, feats, yada yada. Depending on the amount of participants we may expand or decrease group sizes (we're literally gonna use Soccer championship rules for ranking).

Inexperienced TTRPG Players: will recieve support! We'll help ya figure stuff out and get ur character to work how u want.

Prizes: OC Art and an OC Oneshot provided to u by your hosts! (Unless...?)

Now for the work part of this thing: we're still headhunting! Specifically people that would like to assist us who are US based (Mods and DMs, cuz we're European and we like sleep actually). If there's any Europeans out here who wanna help tho... We're also looking for support there!

Agricon supports IRRI to perform On-Farm Trials with Chhattisgarh's farmers

International Rice Research Institute (IRRI)South Asia Regional Centre, Varanasi collaborated with Chhattisgarh Agricon Samiti, to perform direct on-ground trials with farmers of 2 districts of Chhattisgarh, Raipur & Durg. Varieties developed by scientists and state agriculture universities were put on trial directly into farmer’s fields. Through this practical approach not only variety’s performance in the field was observed but also feedback from farmers group and their observation was given consideration.

Starting of Trials: Trials started in July 2021. These trials were conducted in 2 different modes: On-farm trials (OFT)and Varietal Cafeteria (VC). In OFT 7 paddy varieties provided by IRRI and a local popular variety of the area was distributed to farmers by team members of Chhattisgarh Agricon Samiti. These varieties were cultivated in farmers land, using farmer's regular package of practices. Demonstration of VC was done with one farmer in Raipur in which 30 on-trial varieties were demonstrated. In varietal cafeteria farmers and other stakeholders like agriculture department, scientists, interact, learn, evaluate, and decide on their favourite varieties.

“Farmers training cum evaluation” was organised at the varietal cafeteria and other OFT sites. Field visit and feedback session was conducted during October 2021 in the presence of scientists of IRRI(Varanasi) Dr. Kuntal Das, Dr. Sarvesh Shukla, and Dr. Sanket Thakur of Chhattisgarh Agricon Samiti. Farmers shared their feedback and problems related to the varieties with the scientists.

In the varietal cafeteria, an evaluation training and feedback workshop was conducted before harvesting of the crop. 50 farmers participated in the event along with Mr. Gayaraam joint director agriculture, Raipur, dr. Sanket Thakur (agriculture scientists) Mr. Gajendra Chandrakar agricultural scientist from Indira Gandhi Agriculture University, Mr. R.K Kashyap Deputy Director Agriculture. The evaluation process involved aspects like the height of the crop, number of panicles, number of grains per panicle, and other agronomical observations along with ease of cultivation.

The workshop encouraged farmers to identify preferred characteristics in the paddy plant. Evidence-based trial and evaluation improved awareness about various new and improved varieties among farmers.

Quality Seed Production and inclusion of women

This trial of paddy varieties was formulated with an approach of “providing seeds to producing seeds”. After harvesting and evaluation by farmers, a farmer’s favourite variety was selected for seed production. The training was conducted on “Quality Seed Production of Rice” by Chhattisgarh Agricon Samiti.45-50 women participated in this training and learnt to produce quality seeds. These seeds will be used for OFT in Rabi season. These trials are now being carried out for rabi season with 45 farmers of Raipur and Durg.

Positive Outcomes:

Farmers were supported and motivated in the adaption of emerging and improved varieties of paddy along with aspiring them for quality seed production.

IRRI received performance analysis, farmers' acceptance, and behavioural analysis from the trial which will support them for further research

Once again, and with a bit of additional info since y'all seem actually down and we're hyped?!

Newbie support: We know not everyone has played DnD before but that shouldn't be a challenge! We will support you to the best of our abilities so you can have fun playing with ur dolls! And for the same reason, specific spells like e.g. wish or the power words will be banned preemptively.

The OCs: the main purpose of this event is fun, specifically having fun with the blorbos you've put hours into developing and perhaps even developing them further by use of RP and actual TTRPG, but this also means default durge is banned. It simply wouldn't be fun to match default durge 1 vs default durge 2 and announce em as such, so please give ur white dragonborns a name and perhaps a moustache!

Matchmaking: we'll try our best to make it as fair as possible for as long as possible, meaning classes with innate disadvantages will be kept away from each other as long as possible! Don't worry dear squishy sorcs, you will bonk other squishy sorcs! We'll also aim to keep the timezones close together for as long as we can! As for the overall matchmaking pls see this horrible visual ref:

Discord: The event will take place on discord, specifically VC so please be aware that you will have to talk as a participant! Since DnD also relies on dice rolls, you will need to stream the Screen where you'll be rolling them (we'll use online tools) to avoid people 'by sheer accident' rolling a d20 9/10 times. But since we know not everybody likes discord or wants such an engagement, we're currently looking into options to stream it as well, so you can watch ur fav creators OCs make out kill each other in a bloody changing arena!

The hosts: A Bhaalspawn competition should be judged fairly and properly organised, and who better to do so than fellow Bhaalspawn? Retiring early from their roles in the clergy, Velen and Elli aka Fine will start preparing the winners feast as soon as the first body drops! (Yes, we will rp with yall)

The winner: will get legit prices! Yay! OC Art and an OC Oneshot will be awaiting the final Bhaalspawn, they deserve it after such a bloody brilliant battle!

Headhunting: If this comes to life we will desperately need some more support from some US Based fellas! Since we're European but we don't want to gatekeep the fun, we're looking for someone who'd like to DM and someone who can keep the Temple clean while we sleep in our evil beds and cuddle our evil pluahies while dreaming evil dreams! The 2024 Bhaalspawn Championships

Aka a broader scale community activity to spend our summers with. Here's what it's gonna entail:

Short deathmatch style DnD oneshots based on the 5e rules, organised in a championship way where your Durge OCs will compete in 1v1 or maybe 3v3 against each other to determine and crown the chosen Bhaalspawn (aka the final winner). All of that would happen on discord cuz pulling that off on Twitter or Tumblr is actually impossible.

Basically: Imagine the current European football championship but instead of men kicking balls it would be durges trying to murder each other to determine the final winner... So if push comes to shove it would be men kicking balls too but in a different way and I'm getting off topic.

Does the idea sound as enticing to you as it does to us? If so, let us know.
