so I know the remote for my Apple TV (and proper tv) is here somewhere. I had my hands on it even and put it down, which means I will certainly come across it as I organize, but for now it is lost in the move. thing is. how do you connect it to the wifi so that I can use my iPhone as the remote if you don’t have a remote?? WITH GREAT DIFFICULTY it appears. but I’m weirdly proud that I managed it.

I’m told the Switch version of Strive is slightly more optimized compared to the PlayStation 4 version, but since I don’t have much plans to get a Nintendo Switch, I doubt I’ll ever know for sure.
Optimally, I would appreciate a version of Strive where Survival Mode has zero load times between fights, but even Xrd struggles to load assets, so what can you do?
As for Ethernet versus WiFi, even Ethernet can be unreliable at times, so I don’t judge WiFi Warriors in online netplay unless their ping makes them teleport (and teleportation ISN’T part of their movelist!)
Honestly, the people who say Rollback is better than Delay-based Netcode just haven’t experienced a decent Delay match. Delay matches feel much more stable than Rollback.
I say so, because in Rollback is the only situation where I had a Gold Psyche Burst get turned in to a Blue Burst, and the time that happened really made me upset!
At any rate, I’m glad to see people enjoying Strive on Switch, now if only they’d make a perfect port of Guilty Gear X Plus 1.5 or something.
On a related note, Nintendo is a decidedly strange name for a game company, I don’t think I’ll ever fully understand, unless a Japanese Developer explains it to me. Family Computer Famicom I get, but what does Nintendo even MEAN AS A WORD???

so after ignoring it for like a month, i got to work on that computer from the poll again.
all three network adatpers are showing up very reliably in dos now, but still only the two lan adapters under debian. no wifi.
booted from the debian install usb. both ethernet adapter and wifi exist there now too. so im reinstalling the system using the wireless adapter as the default adapter during installation. we shall soon find out if everything exists and is working on the finished system.

In the on-going tragedy that is my new fucking laptop, I may have solved a problem but I still don't know what caused the issue or how I solved it.
Context: on my home network, I could not download attachments from email. I would click the download button and it would just...click. It wouldn't give an error message or anything, it simply acted like a dead-end.
When I was on my VPN, it would work as intended and I could download attachments again.
It was neither browser specific (firefox, opera, edge), nor email specific (gmail, yahoo, protonmail).
I had installed several programs, and a few from...not exactly the fabricator of said product. So I was willing to believe that I had put a virus or malware onto the laptop.
I uninstalled the program I suspected most, it seemed to work. Except! I hadn't figured out the VPN v home network thing yet. I had not fixed the issue by uninstalling the program (I didn't want it anyway, I wanted a different version, which I have now and am much happier with).
I figured out the VPN thing accidentally. But short answer is: I would turn on my VPN and magically could download attachments, I turned it off and No More Download Allowed, turn it on etc etc. (Oh, and I also had no issues with my boss' network, so it was definitely my home LAN)
Clearly there was something happening that involved my home network.
I suspected my firewall/antivirus. So, turned all the shit off and tried again. NOPE. But with VPN on, YUP.
Ok, fine. I look on threads, I look on the intertubes, nothing. Until finally this one person with a similar problem on a similar OS had a thread. It was a couple years old....and no true resolution. But one thing they did mention was that a clean-install did not fix the problem.
Ok, good to know. I sure a shit didn't wanna to a clean-install anyway, but glad to hear it's not likely to help. (Infuriating thing: they "solved" their problem by just hard-connecting with an ethernet cable. And I thought to myself, ah yes, I have a fall-back if I cannot sort this and my VPN work-around stops working...except %FURY% my fucking new expensive laptop does not *have* an ethernet port. Of fucking course, because why would newer more expensive things have more options than the old worn out shit)
But the thread did direct me toward looking at what's on startup. Onto control panel I trundle and look at the startup programs. I decide to disable a couple, not knowing what'll work or not.
I *was* going to do a boot into safe mode to see if that would show me anything but I found out a different fun thing on that. Not even going into that right now. Bottom line is: apparently I can't do a boot into safe mode because ~*reasons*~ and I am too stomped on at this point to try to figure that shit out right now.
Anyway, it appears that the few programs I disabled from startup has fixed the issue?!? I can download attachments again, any email, any browser, whatever network.
