Not for the science-phobic.
Seriously mind-boggling stuff, grounded in solid research.
"What if everything you were told about how the cells of your body get their energy was wrong? What if the body could tap the relatively limitless resources of the Sun directly? Even more astounding, what if the body could tap the infinite energy density of the quantum vacuum and even turn that energy into matter, as well as transform elements into one another? Welcome to the electrifying implications of the New "

Thinkin’ about The Siberian
I was sitting on a draft that said something to the effect of “Worm AU where Manton pulls an NBC Hannibal and moonlights as The Siberian on top of being a globally respected parahuman studies researcher. Is this anything.”
Then I thought about this a little more and realized that this might not be far off from what actually happened. There’s a throughline in Manton’s interests, in his trajectory through life, where he’s trying to figure out what you can use powers to get away with doing to people- about identifying constraints and overcoming them.
He’s the guy who somehow credibly catalogued, and got his name associated with, the fact that powers generally can’t be used to pop people like balloons, and he did so reasonably early in the timeline, in the nineties at the latest. That’s.... an interesting direction to take your research! When people are just coming to terms with the fact that parahumans are real he’s out there taking careful note of whether they can manifest their powers inside people to instantly kill them. How did he test that? What capes did he collaborate with to test that? What did those conversations look like? Did the IRB at a minimum issue any revise-and-resubmits?
And then, of course, he gets picked up by Cauldron (also known as the infinite untraceable victim depot) to work on improving the vials- gaining a sufficiently in-depth understanding of what they are, how they’re made, and what they can do to people that when Cauldron told Legend that Manton had gone rogue and was the one creating C53s, he found this plausible. You’ve got the guy who’d later become the backbone of the Slaughterhouse 9 basically systemically cataloging every conceivable way a power could violate someone’s physiology- first from without, and then, at Cauldron, from within.
Then, when he pulls the trigger and gives himself powers, the resultant ability is essentially a distilled refutation of the Manton Effect- a minion that can obliterate anything, eat anything, delete any material from existence, viscerally dismember people in a unity of conventional and esoteric, power-enabled violence. And he’s insulated from the consequences of his actions on two levels- in terms of Siberian’s invulnerability, but also in the discrepancy between his form and that of his minion. He mixed the vial that gave him that power himself.
Essentially- I don’t think Siberian is something that just happened after a psychological break following a messy divorce. I think Manton basically pre-committed to becoming something like The Siberian, spent most of his career working towards some form of transcendence through superpowers, and the messy divorce was downstream of the cracks starting to show as he got closer and closer to what he’d been chasing.
Now to segue into a complication that’s more directly supported in the text- it’s Worm, it’s always complicated- Master powers spring from loneliness. My theory is that while Manton wanted apotheosis, and while he’d probably been gearing up for a rampage for a while, he genuinely didn’t want to do it alone; he wanted a sidekick. Hence why he bothered pursuing a family in the first place, hence why he fed his daughter a vial, hence why his own projection ended up looking like his daughter after he accidently made her explode or whatever with the bad vial- a monkey’s paw restoration, giving him back a facsimile of the person he wanted to take along for the ride, and making his capacity for violence inseparable from her presence.
This is why he joined up with the Nine rather than remaining a solo act; it’s why he engages in a bad imitation of the Parent/Child relationship with Bonesaw; and it’s why he seeks out Bitch as a candidate. His interest in her candidacy parses to me as genuine- Even moreso than Bonesaw, even moreso than Jack, Bitch has arrived at a no-frills fuck-you-I-do-what-I-want outlook that’s very appealing to Manton. He wants to have a murderer-daughter relationship!
But Rachel got where she is the hard way, by having a life that sucked a lot, by getting near-constantly kicked around! She has a clear reason to be so angry! Even if all my postulations about Manton having a long game are complete bullshit, there are several stages at which Manton had to actively opt in to the same lifestyle and reputation that Bitch was forced to adopt as a basic survival tactic. He didn’t have to start eating people! He’s a tourist! His “freedom” is inseparable from his distance, his disguise. Rachel’s “freedom” is just the freedom of having nothing left to lose.
All of this to say- In an interlude in which Bitch has an extended internal monologue about how people with families have the opportunities to be assholes and monsters to a captive audience, it is absolutely not a coincidence that she’s scouted by a would-be parental figure who proceeds to be an asshole and a monster in front of a captive audience, before trying to buy her affection with a puppy. In rejecting Manton, Rachel dodged an esoterically-packaged but ultimately very familiar bullet.

I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but what is the full extent of a Gallifreyan's psychic abilities? I know they have basic telepathy and telekinesis. Could they have “Jedi-like” powers if they really wanted?
On a side note, do the "Powers of Creation" and the Master's lighting/electricity powers count as psychic abilities? If not, what are they?
What's the full extent of a Gallifreyan's psychic powers?
🧠 Gallifreyan Psychic Abilities
Telepathy: Every Gallifreyan possesses these abilities to some extent, though most are low-level telepaths. They can communicate mind-to-mind, especially with other Gallifreyans.
Telepathic Signature Recognition: Each Gallifreyan has a unique psycho-kinetic signature, enabling them to recognise each other even in different bodies.
Psychic Bridge/Entrelacement Formation: They can establish intense telepathic links, known as Psychic Bridges or entrelacement, with other Gallifreyans, transferring large amounts of information and emotions in a short amount of time.
Hypnotism and Memory Manipulation: They can hypnotise others and block, alter, erase, or implant memories. This is enhanced by intense eye contact. So if a Gallifreyan is closing their eyes while reading your mind, they're respecting your boundaries and signalling they're (probably) not trying to rearrange your mind.
Astral Projection: Advanced Gallifreyans can project their minds through the Astral Vortex over vast distances and through time. This form of psychic ability is particularly strong when contacting different incarnations of themselves.
Soul Catching: A way more esoteric ability is to absorb memories from a dying Gallifreyan, preserving their experiences and knowledge, which is useful for plot, I'm sure.
Tumblr media
🚫 Limitations and Extended Abilities
No Telekinesis: Typically, Gallifreyans don't possess strong telekinesis as part of their standard psychic skill set, only minor telekinesis for moving tiny objects, such as pieces in board games. However, specific instances demonstrate that under certain conditions, they can manifest proper telekinetic abilities:
Caleera: Caleera, a Time Lord Academy student, had profound psychic abilities that included telekinesis. Her case was so unique that it was 'controlled' via medical intervention.
The Tenth Doctor: The Tenth Doctor showed some telekinetic ability when he channelled the collective psychic energy of Earth.
Jedi-like Powers: While their psychic abilities are pretty darn impressive, it's a stretch to say they could do Jedi powers on the hoof. Gallifreyan telekinesis isn't about lifting starships or blasting you with the Force into a wall. These abilities, while powerful, are exceptional. They require specific circumstances or an inherent level of talent that's not common among Gallifreyans.
✨Powers of Creation and The Master’s Thor-like Thang
Powers of Creation: This is likely not a psychic ability but an advanced manipulation of physics and cosmic laws. It's more about an in-depth understanding of the universe and an ability to manipulate its fundamental aspects rather than anything psionic.
The Master's Abilities: The lightning/electricity powers of the Master likely resulted from his botched regeneration process, where excess artron energy was harnessed as a weapon. This is different from typical psychic powers and more related to a 'whoopsie' in the regeneration process.

The Third Eye, an inner eye is a mystical and esoteric concept referring in part to the ajna chakra in certain Eastern and Western spiritual traditions. It is also spoken of as the gate that leads within to inner realms and spaces of higher consciousness.
The Third Eye in reality is the Pineal Gland. It is the spiritual Third Eye, our Inner vision and it is considered the seat of the soul. It is located in the geometric center of the cranium.
The Third Eye is a natural part of every person but it is a meta organ. It consists of all the senses and mind working together as a larger more powerful sensory organ.
As a sense, it can be used in many different ways. It opens up our senses to patterns around us. It’s used by seers to make connections and answer questions. It’s used by energy workers to feel the energy and then manipulate that energy.
It’s part of empathy where a person can touch and feel the emotions of others. Many other applications exist for how people have used it. It is possible to use the Third Eye to learn how to sense and visually interpret energy around us.
This helps people work with the process of Motion, Activity and Interchange more easily and completely. Energy instead of being abstract concept then becomes a tangible property of life to work with once people learn how to sense it and interact with it.
Some facts about the Third Eye:
Location: At the base of the skull, at the medulla oblongata. Its location at the front of the head is between the eyebrows.
Color: Indigo. A combination of blue and red.
Tone: OM (O represents the Sun or the Third Eye) (M represents the Moon or medulla.)
Element: Electrical or telepathic energy.
Sense: Thought.
Deficient energy: Non assertive, undisciplined, oversensitive to the feelings of others, afraid of success, schizophrenic (unable to distinguish between Ego self and Higher self).
Excessive energy: Egomaniac, proud, manipulative, religiously dogmatic, authoritarian.
Balanced energy: Charismatic, can receive guidance, not attached to material things, no fear of death, master of yourself, sexual energy-you no longer need another person to complete yourself.
Gems/Minerals: Lapis lazuli azurite, sodality, quartz crystal, sapphire.
Glands and organs influenced by the sixth chakra: Pineal, pituitary, brain, eyes, ears, nose.
Illness: Confusion, mental illness, bad eyesight, lack of clarity, psychic exhaustion.
The Third Eye is non-functioning, it cannot see unless physical eyes become unseeing. It needs energy to function and same energy has to be redirected.
A region of the head that psychic information and dream stuff uses as a mechanism to alert conscious mind it is there it be perceived, It consists of the Pineal Gland. When we see through physical eyes, we can see through physical body.
Third Eye is not part of physical body, but subtle body. That’s why physiology cannot believe that there is an existence of Third Eye. With this eye functioning, we can enter a different dimension and see things which are invisible to the physical eye but visible to the subtle eye.
With Third Eye functioning, we look at a person, we look at the person’s soul, at the spirit, not at physical body through physical eyes, but we cannot see the soul. The movement through this eye transforms into a new world, a subtle world. We start seeing things we have never seen.
The Third Eye is a symbol of enlightenment. It is the ajna chakra, sixth chakra also known as brow chakra or brow center.
This is commonly denoted with a dot, eye or mark on the forehead of deities or enlightened beings, such as Shiva (Hindu God), the Buddha or any number of yogis. This symbol is called the “Third Eye” or “Eye of Wisdom”, or, in Buddhism, the Urna.
In the Upanishads, a human being is likened to a city with ten gates. Nine gates (eyes, nostrils, ears, mouth, urethra, and anus) lead outside to the sensory world. The Third Eye is the tenth gate and leads to inner realms housing myriad spaces of consciousness.
The Pineal Gland was the last endocrine gland to have its function discovered. Its location deep in the brain seemed to indicate its importance. This combination led to its being a mystery gland with myth, superstition and even metaphysical theories surrounding its perceived function.
The Pineal Gland is occasionally associated with the sixth chakra and it is also called as Ajna or the Third Eye chakra in yoga. It is believed by some to be a dormant organ that can be awakened to enable telepathic communication.
But the human body has another physical eye whose function has long been recognized by humanity. It is called the ‘Third Eye’ which in reality is the Pineal Gland.
It is long thought to have mystical powers. Many consider it the Spiritual Third Eye, our Inner Vision.
There are two physical eyes, we all can see. There is not a Third Eye physiologically in our own body, it is a metaphor. When we look into existence with absolute undivided consciousness, then we are one.
When Jesus said to his disciples,
“If you’re become of one eye, then you will know my Kingdom of God. If you attain one eye, then all bliss be yours and all benediction”.
It is all about the Third Eye which is also known as the Sixth Sense.

To All my Air Placements People
-Or for those who have already read "just feel"
Tumblr media
One thing that really bothers me about the astrological community is their relationship with emotions and those who identify as "air people." As an Aquarius dominant, I try to absorb the best of every word, situation, and perspective, as it is my nature to see reason and to consider things from multiple points of view. I don't see a problem with using words like "manipulative," and I'm not particularly concerned with being politically correct.
However, one issue I can't ignore is the way that air moons and people are often described as having difficulty feeling emotions. The common refrain is, "You don't feel, you just think." This creates a lot of subtext, such as "You should just feel and not think," "How will you survive when you realize you can only feel and not think," and "You overthink and don't feel."
I know that this kind of post may not be popular, as people tend to prefer direct solutions rather than philosophical discussions. Additionally, many people become overly attached to astrology, which I don't quite understand, as someone who practices greco roman paganism and views the stars as simply giant balls in space guided by the Gods. However, my goal is to help air people who may be feeling bad due to these descriptions and depreciating themselves unnecessarily. I want to provide them with the tools to live their lives in their own way, without relying too heavily on astrology. If possible, I also hope to change the mentality of the astrological community regarding air people. Or maybe I just want to help myself, who knows?
In this post, I will use my knowledge and concepts to explain why the concept of feeling can be misunderstood, how air people experience emotions, and, most importantly, how to work with your feelings.
Have you ever questioned how emotions work and why we experience them differently in different situations? Fortunately, neuroscientist Lisa Feldman has been working for 25 years to explore these questions, and her book "How Emotions Are Made" provides a scientific way to understand how our bodies process emotions. I will explain the main ideas in a summarized way.
While the amygdala is often regarded as the brain's emotional center, it is not the only part of the brain responsible for emotions. In fact, emotions are not solely processed in the brain, but throughout our whole body via neurons. Studies on monkeys who had their amygdalas removed showed that they temporarily lost the ability to feel fear, but eventually regained it. This suggests that our emotions are not simply regulated by a specific part of the brain.
Instead, emotions are processed when neurons in our body are activated and send signals to our brain. Our brain then processes these signals to determine what the emotion is and how we should respond. For example, the smell of a bakery may cause our mouth to water and make us feel hungry, while waiting in a surgery waiting room may cause us to feel anxious and lose our appetite. Physiologically, both situations trigger the same neurons, but the emotional response is different because our brain takes into account the context.
In other words, our emotions are not simply a reaction to stimuli but are influenced by our environment and our own interpretation of the situation. By understanding how emotions are made, we can gain a better understanding of ourselves and how we respond to different situations.
Drawing upon my esoteric knowledge and delving deeper into the data, have you ever wondered how neurons "communicate" and signal to the body that something is happening? The answer lies in the air. Yes, the gas we breathe in is linked to our emotions. It travels to our brains and is processed in a way that best suits the situation. Interestingly, people with different elemental signs have their own unique ways of dealing with air, which means that the gas they expel is processed differently. However, some may argue that water is the element that deals with emotions. While this may seem like an esoteric concept, I have my own explanation for it.
Neurons are present throughout our body, and the part that is referred to as our second brain is our viscera, especially our stomach, which is ruled by Cancer. Our hormones also play a crucial role in our emotions. It is a well-known fact that we don't think clearly when we are aroused, and our reproductive system, which is ruled by Scorpio, produces a significant portion of our hormones. Our feet also have a plethora of neurons connected to our emotional world, and they are ruled by Pisces. Therefore, water signs are adept at managing their emotions as they work well with this part of the body and process their feelings more quickly. Furthermore, in astrology water rules the emotions, in others studies it can be the air, or even the water rules the material.
Let's delve deeper into the subject and discuss our emotions in more detail. We need to think about them, even if it's just for a second, before we can truly feel them. While this may come naturally to us, it is something we learn as we grow older. When information is transmitted to the brain, the first thing it does is to search for a similar sensation or situation from the past to determine the appropriate response. To demonstrate this, take a look at the picture and try to see something. Then, check out the next one…
Pulling for my esoteric part and exploring more data, you know how the neurons “move” and say to the body that something is happening? By gas. Yes, air. Our emotion is linked with air, that gas goes to our brains and it will be processed in the best way for the situation, and air people have their unique way to deal with air, so that gas that is expelled will be worked in a completely different way for the air people than all the others. But is it not water who deals with emotion? Esoteric saying, yes, but I have my own explanation for that…
Neurons are on our whole body, and the part that is called our second brain are our viscera, principally our stomach, ruled by Cancer. Our hormones work a lot with our brain, and everyone knows how we don’t think too well when we are aroused. The part that produces a great part of our hormones is our reproductive system, ruled by Scorpio. Have you ever seen the amount of techniques focused on stress and negative emotions on our feet? From massages and acupuncture, our foot has a ton of neurons connected to our emotional world, and it is ruled by Pisces. So why are water people good with their emotions? Because they work well with that part of the body, they sign rules and process their feelings quicker, but do that better with their specific part.
Now we can go a little deeper in the subject and talk in more detail with our feelings. We need to think about them, even for a second, before really feeling, but that should be easy for everyone because it is natural and born with that… Yes, it is natural but we aren't born with that… We learn how to feel as we age. When the information goes to the brain the first thing it does is to search for the same sensation and the same situation in the past to know what to do. I can give you an example of how we actually just work with things, with our memory and prediction of what is going on. Look at the pic and try to see something, after that click in the link and I will heal your little problem:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now that you've seen it, you can't unsee it. The black and white one will make sense now. This is how emotions work: we need to experience a situation to truly understand it. Emotions are complex and we often need to go through a situation more than once to really comprehend what's going on. However, if you put an air person in an environment they already know, they won't have a problem with their emotions.
Now that I've explained how we misunderstand emotions and how they actually work, I'm going to share my knowledge to help my fellow air signs in the best way possible. This is what I've learned to become the best version of myself.
When we feel something, our system works like this: we feel a sensation in our chest, and that information goes to our brain, which tries to put a word to that sensation. Once we find the best word to describe the sensation, it goes back to the area to check if it's accurate. If it's not, the process repeats until we find the best description. So, how do I work with this? I have a lot of emotion names in my memory, so I don't waste time explaining how I feel. Yes, I feel a lot (Pisces Jupiter, Scorpio Mars..), but no, I don't feel the same way as you. Allow me to introduce you:
The Wheel of Emotions
Yes, that is how I do my s***, I take some time in my life to see that wheel and verify what I was feeling in that moment, how I can improve myself, and knowing that I’m not such a bad person, I’m giving you more than 80 feelings explanation here, hope you like. Thank you for your and kisses from the sea.

There’s a deep love I have for worldbuilding elements that are distinctly inhuman and alien. Not just because they stimulate the innate wanderlust and desire to explore in humans, but because they demonstrate the breadths of human compassion and empathy.
Take, for example, if I were to design a world based on inhabitants that are, not human, but amphibious. What would that look like? Well, to begin with, a lot wetter, quite obviously. Civil engineering would, by necessity, be far more advanced in the techniques of waterscaping and aqua engineering than we currently are. Comprehensive aqueduct networks and perhaps even running water in various homes would be crucial to creating early civilizations. I imagine that water rights, and already fraught and complex issue for land-locked humans, would be infinitely more complex to them, with a history of wars, intrigues, and political maneuvering over choice sources of fresh water.
Likely such places would also be of religious significance. Amphibians quite literally are born from water, after all. Any origin myths they would have would quite likely find itself in a primordial sweet water ocean or lake. Perhaps their gods would even come from the water, which would make an interesting dynamic with the dominant faith or faiths if and when they develop a theory of evolution. With such a connection, science and religion might lie even closer together for them than it already does for us in many situations. Especially considering the transformative nature of an amphibians life cycle.
Adults and juveniles, by nature of their physiology, might live in nighly separated societies. One on land, and one in the water. If so, would there be tensions between the two? If the juveniles, as evidenced by axolotl, are as capable and intelligent as adults, would they insist on a separate governing body? Unique laws? Would historic tensions bloom from such a clear divide in society? Or would it be bridged by the parental instincts some amphibians demonstrate?
And even further, how would such a water-based life impact artistry? Music would be a greatly important considering how vocal amphibian species can be, and how important it can be to their lifecycles, music might take on an almost sacred part in daily life. Water-based art forms would form the likely fundaments of their creative endeavors, period. Things like water marbling, moss-and-kelp gardens, perhaps even performances based on the movement of dyes and fluids of various viscosity in water.
Speaking of creativity and creating, what would their relation to fire be? That of a forbidden art? That of a skill reserved to a specific subset of the population? Would it develop a history of mysticism? Would fire be the base of their occultism and esoteric?
Do you see what I mean? This exercise of empathy and compassion? How you have to, as a writer, essentially transport yourself into a life you’ve never lived and could never live?
I love it. In my opinion, it’s one of the many things that make humans, human.

Space Riders -2
Hey! Before you scroll or leave, I made a DogDay chat on CrushOn AI, it would be super helpful if you go give it a like! I may post it on C.AI as well. You’ll know which one by looking for this art:
Tumblr media
You probably already saw the other one. But… here’s more! Add me in your space rider AU comics if you want, I don’t mind at all! Tag me when it’s finished! :0
People I’m Tagging: (Creator and a person adding me to their comic. Will update when more people do or when they stop. Maybe-)
@onyxonline @thedeadchildrean
Tumblr media
Overdrive:
I was trying to do gradient feet and aura (the things connected to eyelashes) but I figured it’s fine without it so you can add that on your own time if you want.
I’m not drawing without the clothes on. That’s just weird… but imagine another outfit or something-
So umm… a bunch of powers are here from the stars and cosmos! Include whichever you want in your comics!
Also yeah. Gonna sound OP as Shit, most of it I just took from the wiki and edited it a bit, I added quotation marks to give them credit. I was gonna do it myself but god damn was I not prepared to see like a billion powers-)
Credit: SuperPower Wiki
I only did some of them. Mainly because at this point I was getting tired but I feel bad since I told a few people it’d be out by today-
But most of them r kinda self explanatory. Or just click on the link and scroll down to where it explains it (which should be right under it) and how it works.

What I added:
•Healing (It can be a spell or just an ability, works to an extent, can lift cursed, add buffs etc, cannot reverse any type of physical damage that has been dis-attached from the body. For example unable to put an arm back in place. Only works for wounds and helping out. Can fix sprains or stuff though. Stellar Regeneration is limited to small things like losing a bit of your ear, a patch of skin comes off etc…)
•Flight / Hover (I just wanted to add it to fly lmao.)
•Force Field (Can protect against a bunch of stuff (for example lasers, rocks, blasts, explosions etc.) only can withstand strong attacks if supported by other allies who have similar powers. Follow-on from my tag novel on this post speculating on the feasibility of Rion being Jaheira's bio kid, and her bio kid with Rasaad specifically (it's a rarepair but it's MY rarepair dammit):
#ETA: zenjestrr just pointed out to me that as a monk Rasaad would have Timeless Body feature which simplifies things physiologically XD#yay DND#it's more complicated than just that of course and now i'm resisting writing a whole essay about jaheira's thought processes#XD
Tumblr media
@astreamofstars as always spoils me with prompting. XD Self-indulgent meta pondering ahead:
Fundamentally Jaheira is clearly STRONGLY torn between attachment to her kids/the city of Baldur's Gate and her natural wanderlust and attachment to nature rather than civilization. She clearly cares for Rion and the other kids in the same way that she cares for anything important to her: very strongly under the surface, but undemonstratively, and her emotions are nuanced and complicated by her own inner conflict and the amount that she has lost in the past.
Taking all this into consideration, I find it sort of hard to believe that Jaheira initially set out to have kids deliberately - with Khalid, with Rasaad (in my headcanon), or with anyone. Reasons being a) it would mean tying her down, b) she is acutely aware of the way a city (her birthplace) or a person (Khalid) can be taken away extremely abruptly and too many attachments can be dangerous, c) she has plenty of enemies, and d) in the case of any lover with a less-than-half-elven lifespan, there's a non-zero chance she would be taking care of the kid alone eventually.
This is particularly the case in the scenario of Rasaad. As I mentioned in the aforementioned tag novel, he COULD physically have kids with her pretty much right up until the end due to the Timeless Body monk feature, but that doesn't mean Jaheira would consider it a good idea. The feature specifically states that it doesn't stop you from dying of old age, just means you go out still in your prime. Hard to picture her deliberately choosing to have a kid with someone who (however virile he was) likely wouldn't see the kid's tenth birthday, given the series timeline and Rion's relative youth in BG3.
HOWEVER - there are three converse possibilities in this scenario:
1. Jaheira extended Rasaad's lifespan by making use of some low-level version of the Rite of the Timeless Body that we find in Elerrathin's Home. (subject of my previous post)
It's actually only now that I'm writing this post that I'm realizing that not only are they similar concepts but the Rite and the monk feature both literally use the SAME WORDS. However, Jaheira describes the Rite as being something that goes beyond what's described in the monk feature - "If they be learned and powerful enough, the practitioner of this ritual might slow their aging, extend their life well beyond its natural reach." So the Rite is something that not only maintain's the recipient's virility into old age but actively extends their lifespan.
The fact that both the Rite and the feature have the same name, though, only adds to my impression (in this headcanon/worldstate) that it would have been something she initially tried to leverage FOR Rasaad, to supplement his own body's natural abilities and give her more time with him (she says it's an esoteric druid thing but that doesn't mean it's true). Her dialogue suggests she never figured out how to use it to the full extent of its power for altruistic purposes, but that doesn't preclude the possibility that she could have had some success with the concepts at a lower level and closer to home.
Being able to draw Rasaad's lifespan at least closer to hers, if not equivalent, makes it somewhat more likely to me that she would see raising a family as a viable deliberate choice.
2. Emotion trumped practicality.
There is a line in the book Dune wherein Jessica considers why she allowed herself to conceive Alia with Leto when she knew Leto was a dead man walking.
And she permitted herself to face fully the significance of this other child growing within her, to see her own motives in permitting the conception. She knew what it was – she had succumbed to that profound drive shared by all creatures who are faced with death – the drive to seek immortality through progeny. The fertility drive of the species had overpowered them.
Like many things in Dune this is a rather, uh, clinical description of human behavior, but the emotional concept here is relevant, I think.
Jaheira is not (overtly) a sentimental person. But she feels things very deeply, nevertheless. I could see a scenario where the desire to see Rasaad and herself live on through children (as Khalid could not) became for a time stronger than her reservations about tying herself down.
Of the three possibilities this is the one that seems least likely/interesting to me for her character when taken by itself, but still quite possible.
3. Rion was an accident.
While a less overtly positive possibility than #1, this option becomes even more likely when Rasaad's aforementioned monk feature is taken into consideration. And actually as I've started thinking about it, I find it the most interesting likelihood, because it allows for options #1 and #2 to also resonate, and gives some context to her strained relationship with her daughter.
Scenario, then: In the late years of her relationship with Rasaad (or, more generally, any non-elven lover she might have taken post-BG2), Rion is conceived by accident. Jaheira starts pulling info on the Rite of the Timeless Body in the hopes of keeping him around longer; she's somewhat successful but not to the full capability of the rite. However, she finds herself too emotionally tied to him and to their child not to go through with continuing to raise her alone after Rasaad's death. End result is a scenario where she feels trapped by Rion but also loves her deeply, leading to the simultaneous strained relationship and deep connection evinced in BG3.
At this point, having one child and being already tied down to the city, it ends up being a slippery slope to taking in others who also need help, and she finds herself never able to quite extricate herself from the cycle or fully commit to it. She rejoins the Harpers in an attempt to re-ground herself in her adventuring life, which gives her a modicum of inner peace but also leaves Rion holding the sack when she is repeatedly called away to so-called "greater duties". End result: a fractured relationship both with her daughter and with herself, neither need able to quite take the upper hand.
Small wonder she was willing to throw herself into the battle against the Absolute, where for the first time perhaps since Irenicus, the completely necessary course was unmistakable.
TLDR: At least in my worldstate headcanon, Rion is Jaheira and Rasaad's biological daughter, conceived accidentally very late in Rasaad's life; the whole situation tore Jaheira in half emotionally and she has never quite figured out the right way to handle it.

Species of Starjourn: Reneans
Tumblr media
Reneans are a cephalopod species that evolved on a large, swampy, tectonically active moon with no oceans. Instead, their homeworld features massive expanses of low, brackish wetlands between large, dry continents. Life evolved to fill niches within the abundant wetlands and is far more scarce in the dry, dusty regions which are prone to devastating sandstorms.
Reneans have hardly changed physiologically over their evolution, retaining certain abilities such as extreme flexibility in spite of their tendency to hold their bodies in a rigid shape. Reneans are essentially one big muscle and as such are disproportionately strong for their size.Their skin is also capable of mimicking almost any texture or color and they enjoy a total degree of mental control over their bodies. They have four fleshy tentacles but can fill air pockets located throughout their bodies in order to adjust to different shapes, including the humanoid shape they are most commonly seen in.
Another trait they have retained over millennia is a form of spiritualism that periodically gestated into esoteric cults, religious movements, and attempts at theocratic governance. Reneans believe that a race of Outsider Gods exists beyond conventional space and consider space and the universe to be something like a sacred vessel but subject to the needs of a higher reality that they acknowledge cannot be known or understood by creatures bound to the universe as they, and other sapient species, know it. Reneans are known for being curious and tolerant of other beliefs but are also famous for a tendency to circle everything they learn back to their own gods and mythos.
The Reneans are extremely social and do not have separate communities. Their folklore indicates that their civilization has always been one with their shared beliefs allowing them an unprecedented degree of cooperation and social harmony. To this day, Reneans prize communications technologies beyond all others and are the leaders in this field.
Reneans face a challenge in acclimating to TENOR and other human-led organizations due to how they are structured and organized to include long departures from “home”. Reneans have special dispensation to furlough home for regular visits. At one time, Reneans who joined groups like TENOR were considered unusual as most Reneans prefer not to deal with things as individuals though they are cognitively individual and have a personal, subjective perspective. They simply feel better facing almost any situation with a few more Reneans close by, but they will settle for non-Reneans in a pinch.
A fun fact about Reneans is that they are the premiere social organizers and party planners among the ALTO species. This is because they are far more adept at considering the needs of large numbers of sensitive, emotional beings than most other species which evolved to cooperate in smaller numbers and/or separate, often competitive communities.
Perhaps more than other members, being part of ALTO has changed Renean culture. It has become more individualistic and diasporic with younger Reneans often clamoring for a faster rate of adoption of outside customs and technology as well as greater enthusiasm for pursuing lives beyond their homeworld. Most Reneans consider these changes necessary adaptations to life in a much bigger pond. They are encouraged to look at it as an opportunity to grow their huge “family” and many are enthusiastic about including visitors and colonists in Renean communities. Reneans have little trouble forming close bonds with non-Reneans, at least from their perspective, and do not exclude other species. Some non-Reneans are more guarded and will meet Renean suggestions that they are “best buds” with skepticism.
Unfortunately, most non-Reneans find it difficult to adapt to the realities of the lives enjoyed by Reneans at home. One sticking point, for example, is privacy. Reneans are only selectively private. Their tendency to accommodate the emotional needs of others can lead some non-Reneans to feel attended to but always separate in spite of the Reneans’ best efforts to include them. For some, not being able to live like them more directly (as part of their collective community in all respects) is an insurmountable obstacle. Konigiri immigrants have had more success than any at adapting to settlement on the Renean homeworld, as they are able to live both in the wetlands and the drylands, and the two species have become close through ALTO membership.
The Reneans are considered the most hospitable people in all of ALTO, perhaps in the entire galaxy, and a great many work in tourism and recreation across ALTO space. Tourism is their largest industry as they prefer their colonies to be similar to home and have a concept similar to coziness or Swedish “hugen” that is an organizing principle for community planning -- this means their cities are paradises of diversion, social opportunity, entertainment, hospitality, and relaxation compared to equivalent cities elsewhere. This is especially true of colonies and destinations specifically set up to accommodate non-Reneans. The average experience of a non-Renean tourist is that every special need they happen to have is already predicted and accounted for with both kindness and precision. Many non-Reneans in ALTO retire to Renean worlds.

It was Magna's grandmother who oversaw her education.
The red-cheeked, curly-headed little girl learned how to dissect humans, falmer, elves, orcs, bretons, and a whole assortment of other creatures her grandmother would bring in loaded on a cart, their parts scattered like that of a jigsaw puzzle.
Once little Maggie overcame her aversion toward seeing a once-living being disassembled on a table like freshly cut fruit, Maggie realized just how similarly mortal (and immortal) humanoids were built—adjusting for size, the bones, musculature, and organs were near identical or vastly different between the races. It was fascinating how Orsimer's physiology semi-resembled that of the Altmer!
However, the dissection and study of animals overwhelmed Maggie with their variety. She diligently studied the function these structures served in life from dusty books with remarkably detailed illustrations, some lovingly folded into the pages by Grandmother herself. As the months stretched beyond her first year in her Grandmother's tower, Magna learned more about the construction of a body than she’d ever imagined there was to know. Time not spent studying the basic lessons of necromancy saw Maggie performing chores around the tower so that she was not ignorant of...womanly domestic duties.
Aside from the standard servant chores of sweeping, polishing, and dusting (Maggie suspected Grandmother made her do these simply because she wanted to keep her humble—the tower didn’t look like it had ever been cleaned before Maggie's arrival), Maggie was also tasked with sorting and cleaning corpses, retrieving components from the surrounding forest, and researching esoteric information in the small library.

Ayy! Been a minute but time for some more fakemons by yours truly! Got some esoteric ones this time around, both based on meteors/asteroids+aliens in general; Kuipor(Kuiper Belt+Meteor), and its evolution, Nibiteroid(Nibiru+Asteroid), the inspiration for these 2 come from a few sources: the mystery planet Nibiru/Planet-X being one of the main inspirations, along with asteroids/meteorites in general, as well as alien creatures, the visuals inspirations specifically can be found here as well under the cut:
The Tentacomet from Starbound's a very obvious one
Tumblr media
Rigdobrite from the Wild Arms game series was also another major visual influence for their designs
Tumblr media
And finally, the green, eerie, tentacal-y alien bits of their physiology's based on/inspired by none other than everyone's favorite, octopus-faced elder-god-alien, Cthulhu

Been thinking about penguin Chozo. They're affiliated with the Thiloo tribe, who hail from the unforgiving planet Brumalgor.
More information (+ images) about penguin Chozo, their culture, their physiology, and their allies below the cut.
Tumblr media
Like other Chozo, the Thiloo possess wings: however, their wings have adapted for swimming rather than flight. The bones in Thiloo wings are shorter and stouter, and the wings themselves take on a distinctive paddle shape. And powerful swimmers they are! Thiloo Chozo cut through the waves with ease, and can hold their breath underwater for up to eight hours. Good set of lungs on that one.
Thiloo Chozo don't fold their wings when not in use: instead, they lay against the back.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Many of Brumalgor's aviform inhabitants are large and husky. They're built like real-life penguins: a thick layer of subcutaneous fat and numerous layers of densely-packed feathers keep these psychrophilic people from freezing to death in the glacial caves of their home planet. Thick clothes help too, of course, but plenty of Thiloo would feel right at home fishing in the clothes they were born in!
Tumblr media
A snowbound outpost situated near the mouth of a cave. Brumalgor's surface is comprised almost entirely of glaciers and ice caves. The metropolitan center of Thiloo society is situated upon (and within) Gintu Nas, the largest of these glaciers.
Any Chozo can be big no matter the tribe, but Thiloo warriors especially have a reputation for being built like an excavator. And they're just about as strong as one, too!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Their natural bodylines tend to be a bit wavier than Chozo from other tribes. Their genes can produce some impressive elliptical shapes (not pictured above).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
More genetic variation!
Culture
The Thiloo value tenacity: it takes a certain kind of stubbornness to set up shop and survive on a snowball planet, and they've got the guts to thrive in extreme conditions! They're not classified as a "warrior tribe" like the Mawkin (and Thoha, at one point), but they do produce stalwart warriors. The Thiloo and Mawkin are longstanding allies who share a sense of mutual respect for each other: while Mawkin warrior philosophy is long-winded and just as contemplative as it is physical, Thiloo warriors value the capability to hunt, endure harsh conditions, and defend their neighbors. Thiloo martial philosophy is more practical than it is esoteric, though the power suit is no less sacred to them just because the warrior lifestyle takes a backseat!
Housing
Thiloo homes are insulated and warm. Inhabited locations carved within glaciers are either uninsulated or warmed with technology to make the room comfortable enough for the occupant while preventing the ice around it from melting.
I won't go into the nitty-gritty scientific specifics of how it works, but I'll give you the short version. The rooms are enclosed in a shell. The heating mechanism is inside the walls of the room, and the shell outside the wall is full of algae that is suspended in a coolant synthesized from high-salinity material harvested from one of Brumalgor's underwater rivers. The algae consumes the byproduct of the reaction from the heating mechanism and "glows cold": some chemical reactions produce heat, but the algae exudes a compound that supercools the liquid around it.
This process allows the room to be as hot as the occupant finds comfortable without sacrificing the structural integrity of the glacier around it. Visiting diplomats from other tribes are often housed in these supercooling melt-proofed rooms. In the midst of his (pre-Warlord) career, a young Raven Beak once spent a lovely evening with a Thiloo warrior-friend in one of these dorms. He'd tell you about it if you asked him.
Philosophies
The Thiloo take great care to preserve their planet's unique environment as they reap its hidden bounty. There is only one Brumalgor, and they're living on it. They think they should take care of it if they want to keep doing so! Building living quarters within and on top of towering glaciers isn't something they just do because it's cool: the surface of the glacier provides the tribe with a convenient airfield, and they might as well make use of the structure's interior: inhabiting the frigid natural tunnels and carving their own in carefully considered hunks of solid ice.
If they're careless with their heating, they're not going to have an airfield with which to park their vessels and welcome visitors. Not to mention the living spaces would become a lot less private: no one wants the wall between their bedroom and someone else's kitchen to evaporate!
They also try to preserve their older traditions: fish are a staple of Thiloo cuisine, and there are many ways to catch them. Individuals dive to feed themselves (such activities are also part of Thiloo coming of age rites), but there's also spear-fishing, which has remained a popular sport for centuries. Most fishing spears have energy blades, and some can be fired from the pole they're affixed to: the construction of the latter is a sort of tethered-harpoon style, or "a javelin, but it's a crossbow". People compete to see who can pierce the furthest target, or who can lance (and subsequently fish up) the deepest target, or who can catch the most fish of the highest quality in a set amount of time.
The Thiloo also try to maintain survival-oriented skills and crafts, despite their advanced technology. Sure, they have fancy machines and space flight to help them survive the cold with ease and travel the furthest reaches of space at will, but what if they didn't have all that? It sure would be useful to know how to keep the dwelling warm in the absence of heating mechanisms, or how to light a fire when the electricity's out.
And how dull would life be without their ancestral arts? It's nice to have a woven basket or a fancy pot around: it livens up the space and can hold things to boot. You don't need a reinforced metal trunk for everything, and the skill it takes to make something by hand is worthy of admiration. There's nothing better than a heavy coat made from the skins of blubbery creatures by familiar hands: it keeps you warm and it's skillfully and lovingly embroidered!
The Thiloo are like space rednecks: they work hard, they value their labor, and they believe the fruits of said labor deserve to be shared among the community and the hands that made it. They value knowledge and the technology they've created through harnessing Brumalgor's abundant resources, but they're not keen to forget the simpler things in life: a good meal. A warm coat. A death-defying experience. All of these things have their place in the world.
The Thiloo and Their Allies: Parallels
I thought I was done with this post, but I observed another link between the Thiloo and their allies while writing the tags.
The Thiloo bear a few cultural similarities with the Mawkin, another tribe that has proudly carried their oldest traditions with them to the modern age. The Thiloo maintain a blend of tradition and technology that the Mawkin vibe with and practice themselves, to an extent. Again, their differences lie in the realm of the philosophical: the Thiloo have a tendency to be more animistic, while the Mawkin value ancestry, heraldry, and honoring the unseen.
The Thiloo teach their children that the fat mammals that provide them with blubber, meat, and skins have a place in the world: that the coats they stitch, the oils they use, and the meat they eat serve a purpose, and they do so gladly, for what else would they be used for? They frown upon waste for this exact reason: the animal that fell to feed you may not have "wanted" to be killed, but prey animals generally try not to die so they can proliferate anyways. Now that it's dead, the animal is bound by duty to serve: it would be foolish to turn one's nose up at the gifts it has provided.
These beliefs also tie in with their environmentally-minded culture at large, and they try to find a use for everything. The Thiloo way of life is to respect the planet they live on, to venerate the plants and animals they eat, and to thank the world and its inhabitants for providing their tribe with the means to survive.
The Mawkin also teach their children to respect the animals they hunt, but their cultural view of it is less "the animal would want you to live on in its stead using the bounty it has provided" and more "this creature's life has been sacrificed so yours may continue: be thankful".
Where the Thiloo see it as their responsibility to avoid waste by using every part of the animal, the Mawkin spin on things is painted with a heavy and solemn sense of duty. The Thiloo celebrate their prey and pay their due respect to the things they take, while the Mawkin venerate the slain beast's death with an almost religious air.
The Mawkin put greater emphasis on the sacrifice moreso than the idea that it is generally beneficial to avoid waste. They also try to use everything they can reap from a kill, but it's more important to them that this thing died so they could live.
Recall that the Mawkin venerate the cycle of life and death as a ceaseless and inevitable constant: death comes for all things, and they are not exempt from this rule. By killing the beast, the Mawkin hunter puts off their own death and the deaths of those they are feeding by a limited sliver of time: delaying the end for themselves by bringing the end to another.
Upon the successful completion of a hunt, the Mawkin thanks their ancestors for giving them life, carving the path through history that led to this moment, and shaping the warrior (indirectly) through the elaborate culture they have built to cradle their (people's) hearts. They give thanks to the planet for feeding and cultivating the beast whose blood has been spilled, and they thank the beast for its sacrifice, which will sustain the hunter and several others.
The Mawkin outlook on waste avoidance is simply gloomier than that of the Thiloo: "This thing died so you can live. Be grateful that it's dead and you're not." versus "Life is a collaborative effort, and we are thankful that this creature was a part of our journey."
Anyways, that's the gist of it: I don't think I missed anything.

I'm 26, transmasc, bi/asexual, and exceptionally kinky. I think writing erotica and exploring sexuality is very fun, so maybe one day I'll use this account to post erotic stories. With that being said, I also love roleplaying and generally write from 3-9 paragraphs per response, on the off chance someone reading this has a craving for some weird story-heavy rp lmao.
some kinks:
Vore, primarily oral vore, same size/size difference, human or nonhuman. I am a heavily prey-leaning switch, but I think it's a lot of fun to write from the perspective of a pred character. I love willing/semi-willing prey (but unwilling is fun too) and fatal vore/digestion. I also enjoy absorption and sometimes hard vore, among many other things. I also like tummies and stuffing as an extension of this.
BDSM. Looove bondage. Huge masochist. Collars and gear are great!
Monsterfuckery, furries, robots... I love nonhuman physiology in erotica, it can be super fun, interesting to explore, and comforting.
A loooot of other things. Hypno, vampirism, dubcon, erotic horror, so on. I'm kinda fascinated by esoteric kinks.
I have no interest in real depictions of sex, but I may reblog writing or art using the tag #sexo tag, if you want to filter it.
