Note! Definition of a sexywoman:
According to the sexywomanpedia, a sexywoman is "a character who shows the 'lanky suitman villain' tropes, is popular with wlw, and/or is highly divisive." Some factors to consider are morality (or lack thereof), overall mysteriousness, and strength (physical or abilitywise.)
Propaganda:
Master Cadence:
"she’s a linguist. she’s a woman in stem. she’s tired of everyone’s bullshit. she’s fruity as hell. her house is cool as fuck (a howls moving castle style boat-thing made of metal that she built herself because she didn’t want to live in the elven cities???? come on). she’s a MASTER. what more could you want." @let-them-sing-of-others
"she’s an academic. shes smarter than u. she hates on the council and she’s RIGHT. she hates sophie actually you know what she has a hater complex but in a hot way. i love her yr honour." @necromycologist
"she spent YEARS researching on ogres and their culture. idk about you, but i would try keeping her in my good graces because she KNOWS ABOUT DEADLY POISON. WHY ARE PEOPLE NOT TALKING ABOUT THIS. I WOULD SHIT MYSELF IF I CAME ACROSS HER IN REAL LIFE EVEN IF IT WAS IN A GROCERY STORE ON A RANDOM TUESDAY AND SHE WAS BUYING OREOS. FOR ALL WE KNOW, SHE COULD HAVE LOADS OF THAT IN HER HOUSE/ON HER PERSON!!" @corruption-exe
"ok not to be a lesbian or horny on main (<- ace) but HOLY SHIT i want her to step on me. this lady has intensified my sexuality crisis" (anonymous)
Umber:
"Shes an evil hot powerful shade that got killed in the book she got introduced in what more could you want" @thefoxysnake
"Umber (Redacted) is one of the women in the series that isn’t JUST psychological manipulator! She also fought! She broke bones (if I remembered correctly) and messes with everyone’s minds without even revealing her true name! She has a boyfriend! A BOYFRIEND. TRIX. She went through something ‘the incident’ (mentioned in the latest book) and joined the Neverseen! She got Trix, her Pookie to be in the Neverseen as well 🥺. You can tell she was also a good lover how Trix was so sad over her death. KEEP IN MIND SHE DIED BEING CRUSHED, so for those who likes angst; there you go. She died in her mission. She was Tam’s mentor and an EXCELLENT fighter if I do say so myself. Who wouldn’t vote Umber? A girlboss with a sweet boyfriend and has murderous tendencies? 😔🎉 Vote for Umber PLEASE! I’M BEGGING YOU! PLSPLSPLSPLS 😭😭" @chronically-ill-psionipath
Tinker:
"she's trans! she's autistic! she's a mad scientist! she's everything you could possibly want in a woman!!!!!" @gay-otlc
"shes a mad genius she built a mad science castle she invented steampunk literally why would you not love her" @necromycologist
Esha Aria:
"shes sooo funny guys. she fucked with the system to get some dick and almost got away with it. she chose that dick over her daughter. she may be exiled but at least she has her man. morals and consequences mean nothing!!!" @camelspit
Lady Galvin:
"She's one of the greatest alchemists there ever was, and yet no one recognizes her for her talents. She's surrounded by people who will never understand or appreciate her, and because of that she tries to make their life hell. She has no ambitions, no future, no goal, and yet she doesn't break. She wears her cool ass capes and rules over detention with an iron fist, desperately searching for the control she lost when she realized her job wasn't up to her. She's an evil supergenius stuck in a children's school." @lizzie-dude

Hymn to the Queen of the Stars
The Hymn to the Queen of the Stars is a liturgical poem written in 5813 EA by forerunner of the Imperial Cult, High Priestess Ishkhar-ramat. Originally, it was written in Zīzlishani, but has since been translated into countless other languages. It is one of the earliest surviving documents proclaiming the divinity of Empress Elishewa rikhut Bit-Kinakhn, and was compiled within the cult's holy text, the Book of Quiet Mercy.
As of 6021 EA, the original text, along with the 26 other poems written by the High Priestess, resides within her tomb beneath the Temple of Martyrs, Esha.
Description
The poem is etched on a single titanium plate, 6.25 ubanu (13 centimeters) wide, 6.73 ubanu (14 centimeters) high, 0.19 ubanu (0.4 centimeters) thick, but has been alchemically preserved. Three holes, 0.24 ubanu (0.5 centimeter) in diameter, are been drilled along the left margin of the tablet at equal distance, 0.36 ubanu (0.75 centimeters) away from the edge.
The Text
It is comprised of 12 lines, 4 stanzas and a 2-line colophony.
The first stanza (1-3) introduces the subject of the hymn, Empress Elishewa, by her common title "Queen of the Stars," describing the figure, her mythologised ancestry, along with her titles.
The second stanza (4-5) continues to extol her virtues and her place above the previous pantheon of gods, the Sleeping Gods, who are relegated to servants of her will according to the Imperial Cult.
The third stanza (6-8) expands on this, describing her place within the Imperial Cult as well as dictating several regional names attributed to her, each a representation of her divine aspects.
The final stanza (9-10) ends the poem with an invocation of peace and wellness.
Zizlishani Transliteration

English Translation
i (1) I sing to the queen of the stars, I sing! Daughter of the House of the First Gods, Conqueror of the House of Darkness, Lady of [all] the Earths, who walked among us.
ii (4) You are mightier than the sleeping-gods. My beloved queen, you are wise in justice, knowledge, and understanding.
iii (6) Our Goddess, our mother, our saviour, our sun, our glory. For generations and generations we will exult your names: Euryphaessa, Zamira, Avala, Aya, Nekhtet.
vi (9) Immortal Queen of the Stars, Lady Ishkhar. For all days grant us peace and good health.
colophony Tablet of Ishkhar-ramat, daughter of Kakki. Descendant of [all] Humanity, Priestess of the Queen of the Stars.

Author's Notes
Elishewa is the Zizlishani transcription of Babette's Hebrew name, Elisheva, which she used in various official forms for personal reasons. The name falls out of use post-Dark Age in lieu of her title, Queen of the Stars. She strongly disapproves of her deification, has repeatedly refuted her supposed divinity, but the religion(s) persist.
Zizlishani is the common language of the Empire since before its founding, and trade language of the wider galactic community post-Dark Age. It originated as a creole of Akkadian, Mycenaean, Hittite, Egyptian, and various Canaanite languages. For simplicity, I just use Akkadian to represent the language instead of creating a conlang.
I have reasonable authority that line 7 is a bit wack, but not why it's wack. So I'm leaving it until someone can correct me on my Akkadian.
The names attributed to Babette each have their own origins and meaning reflecting here worshipers understanding of her.
"išḫar" Hittite origin, meaning "blood." Not referencing her war aspect but rather the spilt blood of the trillions who died during and those who sacrificed their lives in order to end the Dark Age.
"aya" is the name of the wife of the Babylonian sun god, serving as a point of synchronization between Empress Elišēwa and the wider Mesopotamian mythology.
"neḫṭet" Egyptian for "Victory" (?), referencing her place as a war goddess within the pantheon. Also due to her being the representation of victory against the Ancient Enemy who came from the House of Darkness, the Abyss.
"ūripaēssa" my attempt at an Akkadian transcription of the Greek "Euryphaessa." Not linking Babette to Theia, rather the use of this name focuses on its meaning, "Wide-Shining," to reflect Babette's melammu (aura) which is often described as Big™ and Bright™.
"aḇala" Aramaic for "to grieve," used in conjunction with "išḫar" to reference Babette's widely known grief at those who died in her name and those who sacrificed their lives for a brighter future.
"zāmira" unsourced Akkadian. "To Sing" (zamāru) in singular participle genitive. I have no idea what gender, but it doesn't matter. Canonically, Babette's worshipers have a fluid understanding of her gender as she becomes more of an icon than a person. The name references her music which has been a major aspect of her character.
Had great help from a good bloke by the name of Michael Hennessy in writing this. He was basically my guy looking at the abominable sentences I hobbled together and told me "no," while giving me good resources (and direct help) to polish this off.

DWTS Tour recap!
Hey y’all! Here’s my (ever entertaining) tour recap! First of all, we are so grateful to this beautiful lady for giving us tickets for Christmas and coming with us. She was a little reluctant to go considering we told her we’d be leaving the house at 3 and returning God only knows when. But she wanted pics with the pros to brag to her Zumba friends. Imma say our experience delivered. She can’t wait to go next year!
After killing time with endless Jenga battles, we left at 3 to head downtown.
(Y’all should be impressed)
We got downtown, parked, and walked to the bus in hopes we’d see someone. Low and behold......
Abs Boo Thang was exiting the bus at that moment! He was in a rush but came over for a pic and a quick chat. She asked him if he remembered her from last year and he was like “Oh, yeah, of course!” (Bwahahaha). In typical fangirl Katie fashion....I totally forgot to give him his note 🤦🏻♀️ or get a pic with him. I’m so bad at this 😂. Abs asked where Wit was right as Carson was getting off the bus. Alan walked over and told him to go get Wit as they were walking into the venue. We stood there and the security lady came over and told us we couldn’t stand there so we left to do a lap of the venue. When we walked to the other side of the bus, we saw a couple way in the distance walking and my mom said “That could be Val and Jenna!” We watched for a second and I saw that mother truckin fanny pack strapped across the man’s chest and I was like “Holy crap it is!!!!” So we walked towards them hoping they’d turn down that sidewalk and not go towards the back of the venue. We leaned against a wall and “got busy on our phones” and put Abs on “see if they come this way” duty. She goes “Um....they are and Val just waved at me!” So we waited till they got closer and turned to wait. They stopped and Val said hello to us and Abs latched herself onto Jenna. My mom told them they were a beautiful couple and asked for a picture
I took one with Val while Abs latched herself back onto Jenna.
I asked him to sign my book and he laughed when I told him I carried that damned thing through MVP and forgot to ask him then
While he was signing, I got a pic with this gorgeous love
Then Abs latched herself onto Val. I went to take a pic and got this absolute gem
Abs is a little salty that she didn’t get one with Val alone but it worked out because somehow the one of her and Jen didn’t take (I think because he asked me a question and I turned to talk to him). We chatted a minute and I completely forgot to ask the questions I had planned (as big of a game as I talk...I’m a total blubbering idiot in front of them). Jen was surprised to see his book without the jacket because she hadn’t seen it naked before. My mom told her it was because I didn’t want it to get messed up in my purse and Val was like “that’s damn smart!” They left and I hollered “Oh my God come back! I have notes for you! I’m such a terrible fangirl in person”. Jenna laughed and Val told me I held it together better than most.
After that encounter we went back to the bus. The security lady chased us off again so we did a lap. My mom was saying she really hoped to meet Sasha and Emma. Abs wanted to meet Ruby. We stopped by the buses again and out walked the Farber family! My mother’s jaw hit the dirt! She went all blubbery fan girl and threw her phone in my direction for a picture
Abs asked if she could pet Ruby and they told her she could, if Ruby let her, because she has some anxiety issues. She was successful and says she is so soft.
Abs wanted a pic with Sasha AND Ruby so....
Abs then started talking to Emma. She asked her if she remembered her from last year. Emma also replied “Oh, sure I do”. Abbie said “I still don’t know why I cried, I think I was overwhelmed”. Emma’s lightbulb turned on and she got all excited “Oh my goodness! I DO remember you! We met over there! Your mum took a video!” This is the moment my love for Emma exploded. She was already a fave, then we met last year and she was so sweet, then she somehow actually remembered us and holy crap y’all!
(Y’all take note of that lady back there in the red jacket. Homegirl was more and more pissed at every pic that we took. Jacksonville security hates me and my fangirl self)
Since Big Bad Security Lady was real deal pissed off after Abs petted Rubes, we decided it was best to take another lap. When we came back, Carson was standing there. He is ADORABLE in person. Like HOLY CRAP! I asked him if I could take a picture. He looked behind him then looked back at me and said “Me?” I said, “Yep!”. He lit up and was like “No one ever wants a picture with me! Heck yeah, I’ll take a picture!” Abs asked him to tell Wit she said hi and I gave him her note (because I finally got my shit together).
(Wit better look out. Imma swoop in on her man)
The world’s friendliest security lady was eyeing us again so another lap was made. When we came back, my mom decided she was “old and needed to check her phone” so we leaned up against a tree in direct defiance of the security nazi. Out popped this beautiful man. Holy Crap, y’all. He is flippin gorgeous in person. I mean like WHOA! He laughed when I tried to take a picture because he’s real deal tall and I’m real deal short. He grabbed my phone and took the pics for us. Ha! Words can not describe the beauty that is Gleb in person. My mom kept saying how handsome he is.
Right when Gleb left, this adorable human came out. My mother’s face says it all. He is just precious! So kind, so baby faced, so very precious.
At this point, Meet and Greet had started so we wandered around to go see if we could tell who was inside because we still hadn’t found Joe, Artem, Hayley, Britt, or Wit. I went around back while my mom and Abs held that tree up, which made the security lady’s day. I saw Wit and Artem inside mingling so I knew we were pretty out of luck and went to collect the lurkers to go grab dinner. My mom wanted to sit and watch M&G for a bit and all of us were in absolute awe of the beauty of Wit while she and Artem were happily selfieing (yeah, I made that a verb, deal with it) with the fans. My mom couldn’t get over how the people in there paid that much money for tickets and we had met more than half the cast on our own terms. We went back out front for one more glance before dinner and somehow Artem was at the bus. I was waving my squad over while I gave him his card and asked for a picture and he was reeeaaaallll skeptical. He said “It depends, how many people are over there”. I said “Just me” as I am frantically waiving. He cut his eyes at me and said “Are you suuuuuuure?” I told him it was just my mom and daughter (as they finally moseyed over there) and he laughed and told me the guard was oddly insistent about them not talking to the fans at the bus for some reason and she was scary.
Y’all….here’s where I show you a zoom in of Attila the Hun (from the background of our Esha encounter)…..who is not even a little impressed with the fact that we were at this show. Artem was scared of her, my mother….not even a little.
We went and had some pizza, got our souveniers (including a mug for Bestie that I SWEAR Imma mail tomorrow), and went to the show. Y’all….the show is AMAZING! I liked it a lot more than last year! The dances were amazing, the dialogue was hysterical. My mom’s favorite part was Emma’s Elvis dance and the couple segment. Abs favorite dance was “The One Where Alan Is Shirtless”….so pretty much all of it. My favorite was the flag dance. I had seen clips of the drool worthy dance and of Sasha running out at the end. What I hadn’t seen was that he runs out and in approx 5 times as the guys look at him like he’s insane. He finally comes out with some tiny yard marking stake flag and starts waving it frantically, whacking Val with it. I about peed myself!
After the show, we went out to the buses and met up with Abs’ friend and her mom. We chit chatted and the actual DWTS Security guy came out. He told us that the curfew was 10 (it was about 9:15) and that when he came and told us no one else was coming, we had to leave because the buses had to roll out right at 10. He told us to respect the “very secure, military grade bike racks that were provided to us and no pushing or shoving. A (very nice) arena security guy lamented the fact that no one ever wants to take a picture of him....then cracked up when I said “Oh, but I do!” and I did.
Joe came out and went directly on the bus, Alan came out and mingled (and cut me out of our selfie….brat),
Sasha came out and mingled for a loooooong time. He made sure everyone got to talk to him and take their pictures. He was great this tour!
Most of the pros came out and went straight to the bus due to time. At one point someone yelled “Hi Carson!” The girl next to her said “That’s his last name, you idiot!” so she then yelled “Well, Hi Mr Witney!” He chuckled and waved and went on the bus. Abbie goes “Their last name is McAllister” and we all died laughing because it was hysterical. Jenna came out and got some stuff out of the bus and that’s when I heard her say to someone on the staff “Actually, Val and I are…..” and now we know they went to Jersey. Witney came out to mingle and Abs lost her collective fan girl shit. She absolutely LOVES Witney. My mom couldn’t get over how stunningly beautiful Wit is in person and without makeup. She is absolutely gorgeous.
When Wit came over to us Abs was in tears and Wit asked her name. She told her Abbie and Wit said “Oh! Carson told me you said hello! I read your note!” Abs’ friend’s mom managed to catch it all in pics and it’s adorable.
After Wit, Britt came out but only got to about half the crowd (not us.....sigh). Emma came out and security told her she couldn’t see anyone so she gave the crowd an air hug and told us she loved us and thanked us all for coming out as security was ushering Britt out and onto the bus. As we were walking to the cars, Abs and her friend were catching up on some middle school gossip and her mom and I were exchanging tour stories. I brought up a picture of Shai’s hat and she was like OMG! You’re on tumblr! I still haven’t decided if I’m embarrassed or flattered, but this is gonna be so much fun! Y’all…..she’s my kindred Valenna believer. @edsy914
All in all it was an amazing night that capped off a pretty damn epic weekend. We got to meet everyone but Joe, Hayley, and Britt. We all can’t wait to go next year!

I have English Language tomorrow and have been reading Physics for the past 2 hours, so I thought I'll pop in and post the MC Monday for this week
[Zoom in to see the names, tumblr image resolution is soo bad😔]
AALIYAH RAMSEY
Aaliyah who is more commonly known as Tiya by friends and family is Ethan and Diana's only child.
Although E never saw kids or family as a potential future for himself, falling in love with Diana changed that.
It was a conscious decision of both E and D to have only one kid, because they are both extremely busy doctors and for both of them it's absolutely important to actually be there for their daughter, having more than one kid would have made that difficult.
Tiya's godparents are Sienna and Bryce
Her middle name is Dolores after Ethan's first patient/friend.
She's like Diana in all aspects except her biting sarcasm, which she gets from her dad.
ESHA TRINH-RAMIREZ
Esha lost her biological mom, five minutes after her delivery, she suffered from pre-eclampsia. Her dad had passed away a week ago in a car accident.
Sienna was baby Esha's doctor and she was the first to know that she has no other family.
Si refused to leave her alone in the hospital and so did Dan.
It was in that time, that Sienna learnt that she was pregnant and Diana had to force her to leave Esha's side and take care of herself. On the days Si and Dan couldn't be with the baby, it would be Diana or Ethan by her side, because they both knew what the last case of Pre-eclampsia had caused, they couldn't not love the little girl.
Sienna and Dan knew that they wanted her in their lives the moment they were allowed to adopt her.
Ethan and Diana are her godparents, she also has her name as her middle name and she's almost a copy of Dan in all her antics.
Esha and Diana together at a family gathering means Chaos with a capital C
ANH TRINH-RAMIREZ
She's seven months younger than Esha and four years younger than their cousin Tiya.
Quiet and Reserved she's often mistaken as someone who can be walked over, but she gets the Ramirez family genes of saying the right thing just when it's needed.
Also the only one in the family who doesn't go into medicine.
She's the only one who can keep her father and sister in control because Sienna is too weak in front of Dan and Esha's smiles.
Anh's godparents are Jackie and Bryce.
She loves spending time with Ethan and would most definitely be spotted at a corner learning something new from her favorite uncle.

5 most-controversial ads during this festive season
5 most-controversial ads during this festive season :The fireworks may have been banned this festive season but controversies surrounding advertising campaigns of major brands are creating enough drama to keep the virtual crackers going. From a mangalsutra to an atta maker, there’s no telling which product is going to get cancelled on which day.
One day you’re a social media trend and the next day, you could be a brand facing boycott.
So, whether you loved them, hated them or criticised the brains out of them, here’s a roundup of brands that were recently grilled on social media for irking too many people
1. Sabyasachi
High-fashion brand Sabyasachi on Sunday withdrew a photo campaign that featured a model donning a designer mangalsutra with racy lingerie. Sabyasachi stirred controversy for apparently ‘hurting religious sentiments’ by showing a semi-naked model in a mangalsutra ad.
The Kolkata-based brand’s move come after Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra issued an ultimatum to the brand to take the ad down.
2. Fabindia
In a similar fashion, chain retailer Fabindia also withdrew an for its new festive line after backlash from right-wing Hindu groups. Known for its handcrafted fashion products, the brand was accused of using Urdu to name a collection for Diwali, a festival primarily celebrated by Hindus.
The promo campaign, which was titled Jashn-e-Riwaaz, an Urdu term meaning ‘celebration of tradition’, was eventually withdrawn after backlash.
3. Dabur’s Fem
Homegrown FMCG behemoth Dabur withdrew its Karva Chauth ad campaign featuring a lesbian couple celebrating the festival after several sections of social media it described as “culturally inappropriate”.
Many on the interwebs also hailed the campaign for Dabur’s Fem Creme bleach for its pro-LGBTQIA+ stance. Nonetheless, the brand had to take the campaign down and issue an apology.
4. Tanishq
Another local player who faced the music for taking a stand was Tata Group’s brand Tanishq. The jewellery brand released an advertisement showing an interfaith couple at a baby shower organised for the Hindu bride by her Muslim in-laws.
Slammed for promoting what netizens called ‘love jihad’, Tanishq had to withdraw the advertisement after the online trolling extended to physical threats to its employees and stores.
5. Kent RO
For Kent RO Systems, it was an ad for an ‘Atta & Bread Maker’ that brought the house down. Famous for its water purifiers, Kent released an advertisement that showed domestic workers in a negative light by depicting them as infection carriers.
The Noida-based company’s ad cautioned against letting your ‘maid knead atta by hand’ referring to the practice as ‘unhygienic.’ The ad, featuring Hema Malini and her daughter Esha Deol drew heavy criticism on social media who later apologised. Malini then claimed the ad did not ‘resonate with her values.’

Warning Pagan Min being Pagan Min, potential ooc Pagan Min
-
CHAPTER ONE
“Again, terribly sorry for what happened. This is more what I had in mind.”
Esha looked at the man to her left as he spoke, but her gaze trailed down the table to his guest of honor. He looked like a child with the look of confusion on his face, but she was certain he was fairly young regardless.
“So, fresh start. Introductions. Ajay Ghale, our guest of honor; Paul, our very gracious host; Esha, my dearest friend, and her daughter, Abha. And the little monkey who’s name I still do not know.” He gestured around the table as he went, stopping when Abha reached out from her highchair to grab at his hand. “And I, of course, am Pagan Min.”
Ajay looked at him, clearly not knowing who this Pagan was.
“You really don’t remember me, do you? Your mother, she never spoke of me, never mentioned me?” He looked sad for a moment before he waved his hand dismissively. “Oh, we’ll change all of that. Paul, I need cash.”
Esha looked at him, curious as to what he had planned, but knew better than to question a man like Pagan Min.
“Uh, how much do you need?” Paul took out his wallet, looking through it.
“All of it. Thank you, here we are.” He held a Kyrati rupee in his hand, next to his head. When there was no reaction from Ajay, he chose another rupee. “All right, how about this, with the smile?”
It took one other rupee for Ajay to come up with a reasonable reaction.
“That’s you.” He murmured, the first thing he most likely said since coming here.
“That’s me.” Pagan agreed, turning the rupee to look at it, a small sigh leaving his lips. “Though, I’m not so sure anymore.”
He set the money down before turning to the urn, opening it. “Now your mother, your mother on the hand, she understood me. She knew me in a way that no one ever did.” He sighed, tilting the ash as he dipped a finger in, bringing it to his lips for a taste. “Mm. That brings me back.”
He set the lid of the urn down, holding the urn with a fond gaze. “The last time I saw Ishwari was years ago. She told me she loved me. Women, they can do that. They can tell you they love you in the moment and mean it, men on the other hand? No, men only really love you in hindsight. When too much distance has built up -” he set the urn down “- So when your mother decided to flee to the United States with you on her hip, I couldn’t help but blame myself.”
Esha watched as the king stood, crab fork in hand as he approached Ajay’s friend, knowing full well what was going to happen.
“Pagan, careful.” She warned, gaze drifting to the baby that was watching him with wide eyes.
“Then I realized it, it’s not me. No. It was the fucking Golden Path.” He only offered Esha a small smile showing he understood what she was warning him about as he walked behind Ajay’s friend. He slammed his head into the plate, stabbing him in the neck with the fork. “Those fucking terrorists, they ruin everything. Like dinner. Did no one ever teach you that it’s rude to text at the table?”
Abha giggled clapping her hands at the sudden movement, having been too young and innocent to know that she should not be giggling at this.
“Let’s see here. Give me the phone.” He whacked the man’s arm until he moved it. “Really guys? We’re not checking for these anymore? Ah, “I’m with Ajay Ghale.” You’ll love this part. “Help.” A text, for help. You don’t text for help, you cry for help. So, come on, you’re going to cry for help.”
Esha cleared her throat. “Pagan, enough. You wouldn’t want to scare Abha, would you?”
“I…” He furrowed his brow before yanking the fork out. “I suppose not, you’re right. You’ll have to forgive me Ajay, Esha truly is my better half. She keeps me quite grounded. Paul, take this little monkey and see what he knows.”
Paul stood and grabbed the monkey, leaving the room with him in his hold.
Esha smiled respectfully, but squirmed under the attention she was being given. “It’s nothing, nothing at all. I’m only doing what I do best.” She shrunk in her seat, hoping the attention would go elsewhere.
Pagan’s phone rang and he slowly made his way out, telling him to stay and enjoy the crab rangoon.
Ajay turned to grab the urn, quickly closing it. “Is he always…. like that?”
“Hm? Like what? Oh… well, if you mean the fork, usually yes. He’s very temperamental, but he is not without his kindness. I wouldn’t think too much on his behavior, Ajay. He’s…. reaccustoming himself to having more people around.” Esha lifted a crab rangoon off of her plate, waving it around like a bird in front of Abha. “You’ll learn to get used to it, if you decide to stay a little while longer after returning your mother to Lakshmana.”
“Who...who was Lakshmana? She never spoke of her, and when she did, it was pretty vague.” He cleared his throat, looking down at the urn.
Esha frowned, looking at Abha. “She was Ishwari and Pagan’s daughter, his pride and joy. You could tell when he had seen Lakshmana just by the smile on his face. She was to turn two, but she was killed.” She was uneasy to even tell him this and it showed as she nervously shoved food into her mouth to avoid saying anything more. “Listen, it was his daughter. If you want to know more, it must come from him. I’m merely just his friend.”
Ajay looked at her, but said nothing more as he sat in silence, choosing the option to enjoy the crab rangoon.
“Is Abha his?” Innocent question enough.
She laughed, shaking her head. “No, no. Though he does adore her, it is for some other reason. Her father abandoned us the moment he laid eyes on her and saw that her skin was light. Accused me of adultery and ruined my reputation. I was lucky enough to have met Pagan when I did, if not for him I’m sure Abha and I would’ve died.” She smiled down at her daughter, squishing her chubby cheeks. “It’s cute that you think she’s his, though. It’s sweet.”
He flushed, looking down and was going to say something else before Pagan returned, a joyous smile on his face as he sauntered in.
“Did you enjoy the crab rangoon?” He didn’t wait for an answer, but was caught off from saying more when screaming echoed through the halls. “Ah, you will have to forgive that. Someone isn’t cooperating as well as they should.”
Abha gurgled and slammed her hands on the trey of the highchair, squeals leaving her lips as she watched Pagan return and take his seat beside her.
“Let us finish our meal, shall we?” He clasped his hands together, smiling. “Anything interesting happen while I was gone, hm?”
“Just small talk about Abha, nothing much.” Esha chirped, omitting the sensitive topic of Lakshmana. “Yuma will be coming in later. She wants to talk to you about something, but she never said what.”
“Probably for the best, you know. Wouldn’t want dear Abha getting caught in the crossfires of my business, no?” He chuckled, a dangerous, warning tone to his voice. “Now, it would be a waste to let this food grow cold. Let’s celebrate Ajay Ghale’s return to Kyrat!”
Esha furrowed her eyebrows at his words, knowing full well he’d never let any harm come to Abha, not if he could help it. She ate in silence as Pagan rambled on to Ajay with some interruptions from Abha every now and again.
When the meal was over, however, he had a help lead Ajay to his room. Pagan remained with Esha who was thoroughly savoring the food as she shared the crab rangoon filling with Abha.
“I trust that you will ensure you will make sure he doesn’t stick his nose where it doesn’t belong.” He murmured quietly, lifting Abha from her chair and into his lap. “We don’t want him joing that fucking Golden Path now do we? No, we don’t.”
Esha smiled softly at him. “Only if you teach me how to fight. It’ll be much safer if you do, and you can still keep some guards with you, or stationed at posts.” She retorted, watching him. “She loves you, you know. I think she’d love you even more if you taught me how to fight.”
“Ah, well, I suppose doing so wouldn’t be too difficult. Ajay could accompany us.” He hummed, although there was some doubt in his mind. “It could be a bonding moment for us all!”
“A bonding moment of shooting things?” She raised an eyebrow at him.
“Yes! We can tear shit up!” He nodded, standing as he bounced Abha in the air. “Wouldn’t that be fun, Abha? Yes, yes it would. You’d have so much fun, wouldn’t you?”
“She’s a baby, Pagan Min. You will not introduce her to guns, or killing people. It’s bad enough you stab people in front of her.” She scolded, a frown on her face.
“It’s never too early. She must learn to fend off all the boys that may like her in the future, you know.” He handed Abha over to Esha with a cry of disapproval coming from the baby.
Esha narrowed her eyes at him as she set Abha on her hip. “You’re insane, Pagan. Absolutely insane. She is a baby! Teaching her to stab things is bad parenting! You have to teach her to fight with her hands!”
“She will be a perfectly capable young girl if she is anything like her mother. Of course, she is much too young now, perhaps when she is able to keep herself upright, then.” He tutted before smiling at Esha.
“Flattery won’t get you anywhere, Pagan. You should know this by now.” She tsked and patted his arm. “I’ve got to go into town later, so I trust that Abha will be safe with you. Again, do not do anything too terrible in front of her. If I find out you did, I will hurt you.”
“Oh, feisty. I like it.” He quipped, a smirk playing at his lips.
She looked at him, eyes narrowed. “Thank you for the meal, My King. I’ve got work to do now, so you know where to find me if you need me.”
Esha didn’t wait much longer for any reaction from him and left the room, heading towards her room to begin working. She wasn’t like any other member of Pagan’s so called “court,” as she more often than not did the little things like sewing or repairing clothes. She was pretty handy with a needle, and took to cleaning and repairing any clothing Pagan sought fit. Sometimes she would even craft new outfits for him, such as the pink jacket he had worn at the meal with Ajay. It was difficult, but that was fine with her.
She was repairing one of his coats that had been torn, although it was a lot more than a tear. He was very clearly getting into a few more squabbles with the guards, as the bloodstains were quite…. pronounced.
“He is such a messy man, isn’t he, Abha?” She turned to look at her daughter standing in the crib. “Nothing I’m not used to with a messy eater like you!”
Abha squealed, as if disapproving of her words.
Esha sighed, a small frown on her face. “Maybe one day Kyrat will be safe enough for you to go out and have fun. Maybe.”

REASON FOR CHOSEN CHARACTER
never, in my 4+ years of rping, have i ever played a muggleborn non-death eater gryffindor who is on a moral precipice. that’s where i see selina - right on the edge. her situation is one that is extremely unique, in my opinion.
the aversio is a group that was formed to fight the death eaters with their own weapons - they don’t hold back, like the order, but they fight for equal rights and for the eradication of bigotry, unlike the death eaters. selina joined them because she has 7 years of anger bottled up in her - her desire to prove herself academically conflicted between wanted to prove herself worthy as a witch and her thirst for knowledge in general. had the racism and bigotry against muggle-borns not existed, perhaps selina could have been a ravenclaw with her intelligence and wit. her placement in gryffindor is detrimental to her alliance with the aversio - she fights for what she believes in, whether it be her status as a witch, or the fact that arithmancy is simply a tool for divination, so no, not taking divination because its an “imprecise” subject as quite misleading and most untrue.
however, knowledge is power. selina knows that her intelligence is what makes her valuable to the war effort - she is an accomplished witch with enough magical power to wield morally dubious spells without hesitation. at times, she helps aversio members strategise upcoming plans, attack plans, et cetera.
but the morality that she imbibes as a daughter of two muggles - her father, a diplomat representing the united kingdom, and her mother, a human rights worker, has been compromised in the aversio. there are times when before and during a battle she sees nothing but her ultimate goal and the means to achieve it (no matter how bloody or destructive) but after all she sees is the blood on her hands as a result of a civil war that cannot be fathomed by muggles. she lives in two worlds, and by joining the aversio, she has effectively chosen between them. the guilt claws its way through her mind every day, but she does what she must because it’s the right thing to do.
currently, she works as a herbologist, writing her book on herbology and divination simultaneously. however, for almost 4 years starting at 18, she worked for the international quidditch team - however, not as a player, but as a strategist. her quick logic and intelligence made her well-suited for the part, and the encouragement from her father to join an international group instead of a national one helped her decision. however, due to her status as a strategist, she was barely in the country. while the death eaters were on the rise, where there were simple stirrings, she was unaware of the ongoings. it wasn’t until there was a season break when she was 22 that she returned to an atmosphere of conflict and mistrust. that’s when she quit her previous job and joined aversio - while the safety of working with an international team appealed to her selfish, cynical side, the morality and righteousness of fighting against oppression and bigotry prevailed.
i imagine she’s a fast talking girl. she has so many thoughts rushing through her brain and only so much time to vocalise it.
selina is such a uniquely fascinating character, and i wanted to explore a character with moral conflict instead of my usuals, which are characters that are a little more black&white.
PREFERRED SHIPS // CHARACTER SEXUALITY // GENDER & PRONOUNS
ships: selina x chemistry. it’s cliché, but it works best. although, i do think her romantic relationships would have to stem from a friendship. romance for her is something she doesn’t have much time for in this war, but she’s never been one to say no to something that occurs naturally. it scares her to think that she would have to actively worry about somebody else as well as herself, and she would hate to have someone worry over her, especially with her dedication to aversio. sexuality: hetero(romantic & sexual). unlike romance, sex is something there is still time for, in selina’s mind. it’s a temporary release, something that can be done quick and then forgotten about, no strings attached. gender & pronouns: female, she/her/hers.

IN CHARACTER QUESTIONNAIRE
The following section should be looked at like a survey for your character. Answer them in character and feel free to use gifs. Or, if you’d rather, answer them in third person or OOC without gifs. Answers do not have to be extremely lengthy.
If you were able to invent one spell, potion, or charm, what would it do, what would you use it for or how would you use it? Feel free to name it:
“Oooh. Fun. Well, it’d have to be something revolutionary, wouldn’t it ? I can’t have something trivial with my name attached to it. Perhaps a potion ? I like the idea of inventing a potion. It’s intellectual, and something people wouldn’t have to rely on their magical prowess to make. I can see myself inventing a healing potion, but there are an awful lot of those. Maybe not. Ooh ! I got it. A shrinking potion ? I know there’s a shrinking spell of some sort, but a potion is more handy. You can make multiple batches and don’t need to have a counter-spell because it just wears off over time. Perhaps 30 minutes. I like the sound of that.”
You have to venture deep into the Forbidden Forest one night. Pick one other character and one object (muggle or magical), besides your wand, that you’d want with you:
“Well. That’s tough - not particularly, I mean I know exactly what object I’d take (an invisibility cloak, that is, it would be wildly useful and extremely stealthy), but a person. That’s tough. Well. I think I’d take my dad - he’s a great fellow and it’d be fun to let him look around and see beyond coyotes and kangaroos. I’m taking the invisibility cloak for a reason, aren’t I?”
What kinds of decisions are the most difficult for you to make?
“Those that make me choose between what I think is right and what I think is fair. Sometimes those two never really line up, especially when you have a person in front of you who is guilty of bigotry and lies and murder, but you can’t help but think that perhaps not killing them would serve your purpose better. Wait- that sounded a little too morbid. A better example would probably be something relating to a lighter subject, but in these times, I think we could do with war talk.”
What is one thing you would never want said about you?
“That I’m… cowardly. Or weak, or a hypocrite. Yes. Hypocrite. Because I fight for what is right, and what my values are. I’d hate for anybody to think I’m being cowardly or hypocritical by doing so. When you think through everything as much as I do, it’s rather tough to accept… criticism.”
WRITING SAMPLE
7.
Tiny Selina with her short black hair and hopeful eyes grinned mischievously and lay flat on the swing, her stomach against the cold metal, feeling the air smack her face every time it swung. Her friend, Bert, was pushing it every time it swung back to him, his young face scrunched up in concentration, making sure to put in force at the right time to make sure the swing would catch enough momentum to go higher. She loved the rush of the moment, the thrill she felt from doing something a tad bit dangerous. Her book was left forgotten on the bench to their left, a page near the beginning neatly dog-eared and pressed flat against the hard cover.
Despite his concentration, there was only so much power an 8-year-old’s arms could have, and so Bert accidentally pushed the swing while it was still moving towards him, disturbing its momentum. It stuttered, went forward, and launched Selina straight into the air. A high-pitched scream left her throat, attracting the attention of other kids and parents as they watched the tiny girl launch into the air and begin accelerating down just as soon.
Selina shut her eyes. They were shut for 10 seconds as she braced for impact, dreaded the scars on her face and hands she would get. Oh, no, what if she injured her eyes? She wouldn’t be able to READ.
The impact never came.
14.
The air flowing through her hair stayed as a constant throughout her life, except this time she was flying herself across the sky on a raggedy old broom.
Her parents may be rich muggles, but they truly didn’t understand the importance of a good broom for Quidditch. So she was left with Hogwarts’ old ones, one that poked and pinched in odd places. But Selina was happy - she may have her nose in a book most of the time, but she was a normal witch with friends and an interest for the Wizarding sport that could only be rivalled by those who were also on the Gryffindor House team.
The Hufflepuff Beaters had clearly been practicing ( she told them, she told their captain that Hufflepuff was working really hard this time, they’d changed up their strategy and coming up with things like that 5 minutes before a game was impossible, even for her ), and the amount of times she had to weave her way around them and their chasers and the bludgers that seemed to be quite obsessed with her was frankly getting on her nerves.
The quaffle was in her hand, and she was whizzing her way towards the opposite side, towards the ‘Puff keeper who was too lanky to be buff and yet was the quickest boy she’d ever played against. He seemed to favour his left side, so she flew as though she was aiming for the left hoop. Usually, faking in 'Puff matches worked superbly well, but the team was new and the keeper was newer - she wasn’t too sure about what to expect.
Just as she was about to swerve and aim for the right, a bludger came at her from nowhere and hit her straight in the gut and the next couple of seconds were filled with blinding pain followed by nothingness.
The next morning, the healer told her that it would be best if she just stayed away from Quidditch for, oh, maybe 6 months to a year to a lifetime.
23.
She hadn’t known that she was returning to war. She hadn’t known that she was going to join a group that understood the desperation for revenge, for justice, for her rights. Their rights. She didn’t know she was giving up her life to become a soldier, and yet it felt like the right decision. If things worked out, she’d have a long life to fulfil her career aspirations. If not, at least she’d have fought for what she believed in.
That’s how she thought of herself. A soldier. Every time they raided, every time they found a Death Eater, or a trace of one, or a way to force their hand in a move they didn’t care for, she felt mechanical. There was emotion - they always was. Usually, when it happened, there was satisfaction. It felt right - all those years of being mocked and teased and being called a mudblood had ignited a fire in her that never died out. That never would die out.
Sometimes she wondered what it would be like if she’d just continued with the International Quidditch Team. She could have continued travelling the world, strategizing, stayed ignorant about the war brewing in her home country. But she wasn’t the kind of person to do that - she was righteous, and brave, and just. At least she hoped to be.
Selina faced the Boggart in front of her with a strong brow and a stable wand.
"Riddikulus.“
She turned it from an arm with the word “Mudblood” engraved into it a hand that skipped around everywhere, jumping upon a table and tap dancing till the frown on her face turned into the smallest of smiles.

All You Need To Know About Gender Equity

All You Need To Know About Gender Equity
Esha Saxena April 3, 2019
If we need one thing more than ever right now, it is gender equity. The word ‘equity’ is defined as ‘the quality of being fair and impartial.’ While ‘gender equality’ is the state in which access to rights and opportunities is unaffected by gender, it is ‘gender equity’ that sets the stage for gender equality. The two terms may sound similar, but they have distinct meanings. Think of it like this: if equality is our end goal, equity is the means to get there. In this article, we will shed light on the concept of gender equity, why it is important, and why it is everyone’s business.
What Is Gender Equity?
According to the International Labour Organization, the concept of gender equity refers to “fairness of treatment for women and men, according to their respective needs. This may include equal treatment or treatment that is different but which is considered equivalent in terms of rights, benefits, obligations and opportunities.”
In other words, gender equity denotes the process of allocating resources, programs, opportunities, and decision-making fairly to both men and women. Everything has to be 50/50. To achieve it, everyone has to have access to a full range of opportunities.
Why We Need Gender Equity Now More Than Ever
Women make up one half of the world’s population – 49.55% to be precise – yet we are often denied equal access to health, education, political and economic participation. This is not a “women’s issue” – it is a rights issue, and it significantly damages a country’s economic development.
The sad truth is that right now, no country in the world is on track to achieve true gender equality. In fact, at the present rate of progress, it will take another 202 years to reach gender equality globally (1).
It means it will take about six more generations for our great, great, great, great, great, great grandchildren to see a world without gender inequality. That is terrible news not just for our daughters, but also for our sons – because it impacts everyone.
What we need is a thorough analysis of organizational practices and policies that may obstruct the participation of women and girls. Some of these include hiring and recruitment practices, participation rates, resource allocation, and activity programming. But the current scenario looks very, very sad:
According to a new report by Glassdoor, in the US, men on average earn 21.4% higher base pay than women (2).
If there is only one woman in your candidate pool, there is statistically no chance she’ll get the job (3).
In corporate America, men are promoted at 30% higher rates than women during their early career stages, and entry-level women are significantly more likely than men to have spent five or more years in the same role (4).
There are more CEOs of large U.S. companies who are named David, Steve, and John than there are CEOs who are women (5%) (5).
Women hold only 21% of the world’s parliamentary seats, and only 8% of the world’s cabinet ministers are women (6).
Around 60% of the world’s chronically hungry are women and girls (6).
Gender-based violence is one of the biggest causes of injury and death to women worldwide, causing more deaths and disability among women aged 15 to 44 than cancer, malaria, traffic accidents, and war (6).
Gender Equality Vs. Gender Equity: What Is The Difference?
interactioninstitute.org, Credit: Interaction Institute for Social Change | Artist: Angus Maguire.
Gender equality does not always mean that men and women should be treated exactly the same. Biological sex differences are inevitable, so it is reasonable for men and women to have different legal rights in some cases. For instance, only women require maternity leave specifically for pregnancy and birth. (Though the fight for paternity leave is also on the rise right now to encourage men to play a more active role in child-rearing and close the gender wage gap).
Look at it this way: You are riding on a bus on which there are a 30-year-old lady and a 65-year-old man and only one empty seat. Who should ideally get the seat? It is the old man. Although, a female stands as his competition, as per equity, the old gentleman needs the seat more.
What we require in scenarios like these is not equal treatment, but equitable treatment. Equity recognizes the differences in ability and the fact that fairness often requires treating people differently, so they can achieve the same outcome.
At times, gender equity is absolutely necessary to achieve our goal of gender equality because the core of this problem lies in the irrational biases and prejudices that women are routinely subjected to. However, this is not always the case.
While gender equality is concerned with equal opportunities, gender equity is concerned with equal outcomes. There is a clear distinction. To sum it up, gender equity stresses the idea that treating everyone exactly the same is actually not fair. What this does is erase our individual differences and needs, and promotes privilege instead.
Audre Lorde once said, “It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences.”
What we really need to do is let go of a single definition of “success” and recognize our differences as unique. The system is flawed not because of these differences, but because it fails to meet everyone’s individual needs.
