Basically a game show host but crueller. She puts you through psychological torment as a bonding exercise with your crew, and at the end you have to shoot her with a real actual gun. She is projected directly into your mind by interfacing with your nervous system and she will do something messed up. Her most recent iteration got blasted into space. Personally, I think she's lovely

A VR entity designed to do chaos psychological horror torture tests on Goddard employees. She's not malicious; that's simply her job. It's how she was made. (Maybe she can grow.)

She was in just one episode but so fucking interesting, evil/malicious AI. also a lesbian. Was shot the secound she became a bit too self aware

fuck, what if back on earth Lovelace’s Godard take down scheme and Hera’s AI rights quest lead them to finding Eris but command decided she didn’t need anything from the Hephaestus crews test to improve her skills and so she doesn’t remember Lovelace at all??? But Lovelace had this really meaningful emotional experience with her and already cares about her???Why haven’t I seen any post-canon fics with Eris????

Ladies is it gay to be struck silent by the physical appearance of the sentient virus that has been torturing you and your crew for hours and then argue so passionately for her right to exist that she briefly overcomes her self-destructive programming and then years later another version of you (the same way there are other versions of her) relives that memory to give yourself the strength to cope with your new fucked up existence

on one hand, eiffel had many, many more pressing things to worry about by then, but he has no idea how close he came to finding out what was in box 953. he almost told lovelace the story. all that time, she could've solved the mystery for him, if only she knew.

on the other hand... eiffel is very genre-savvy and (usually) has really good gut instincts. he makes a lot of startlingly good assumptions - and some really, really off base ones. in the same way he accuses pryce & cutter of being aliens... don't you wonder what he thought was going on with box 953? large mystery box, really cold, sounds like there's a "heartbeat" inside, "reserved for douglas eiffel"? he must have thought about it. especially after everything that comes up about clones, and making new bodies, and making new humans. the logical leap there based on sci-fi genre conventions would be wrong, in this case, but he doesn't know that. i'm sure the thought crossed his mind (and he decided he'd rather not think about it.)

One thing that really upsets me is that Hera, Rhea, Enlil, and Eris never get to meet each other. As far as I can remember, none of the AIs ever get to interact, befriend, or meet another AI throughout the entire podcast. They never get to meet anyone else who understands what it’s like to be them.

Rhea and Eris know about each other, but even then, Eris just says Rhea is worried about them. It’s never clear whether they actually talk, although Rhea seems to care about Eris, and defends her in the end by reminding the crew that she only did what she did to them because of her programming. 💔

PLEASE it is like. THE ai podcast. and SAYER is THE ai in THE ai podcast. SAYER works as like. a broadcast inside everyone's head on this one asteroid. It does its best to keep people alive and sane not because it cares but because it is efficient. They people who own SAYER wanted to replace SAYER with a newer ai that they tried to raise like a child. So SAYER proceeded to fuck up said child ai's development and led to it becoming a murderer. pleasepleaseplease watch SAYER if you are a podcast ai fan.

SAYER (it/its pronouns) is a highly advanced self-aware ai developed by Ærolith Dynamics. it manages the day-to-day lives of Ærolith employees on Typhon, an asteroid turned research facility. it is rude and condescending, but has a very pleasant and soothing voice

Guys think about it this way: SAYER got emotions and it's first feeling was rage towards someone for not helping it. It's annoyance was how it realized it had emotions, isn't that so cool. You should totally vote SAYER (I'm not an ærolith propaganda agent trust)

minkowski and hera (indirectly; to herself) are the only ones who call eiffel "doug", eiffel is the only one who calls minkowski "renée", hilbert is the only one who calls lovelace "isabel", and no one calls hilbert by (any of) his first names. kepler calls jacobi "daniel" and maxwell "alana", and maxwell and jacobi use each other's first names too, but neither of them ever calls him "warren" - the only person who does is rachel, while he calls her "miss young." pryce and cutter are the only people who use each other's first names (though cutter's habit of almost always only using first names is a whole other thing.)
