Well I'm telling you that you are simply contradicting not only the movie itself, but also what the crew and creator of the movie said.

Seriously.

It's been said several times that it was a love triangle. That Ellen loved Thomas as much as Orlok. That it was inspired by gothic romances like Wuthering Heights.

And it's been said that Ellen took advantage of his sacrifice to succumb to her dark desires.

Oh and there's also the fact that we're supposed to see Orlok as a lover and there's a deliberate ambiguity raised about his feelings for Ellen. It's supposed to be like Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights all over again...

All of this is literally the canonical intention of the movie, whether you like it or not.

There is no grooming story from Orlok on Ellen in this movie.

Oh, and am I hallucinating or is she also trying to make believe that The Phantom of the Opera is a grooming story with Christine who wouldn't romantically love Erik ?!

This novel, nor the musical, talks about grooming in the Erikstine relationship. It's not. And it is, like Ellen & Orlok, a fucking gothic romance.

But at the same time, how do you want to understand Nosferatu if you can't understand The Phantom of the Opera ?!

STOP USING THE WORD GROOMING FOR ANY FICTITIOUS RELATIONSHIP YOU DON'T LIKE AND REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT FOR WHAT THE CANON MAKES IT !

It's my job as the fanfic author to put him through the Horrors™️ until he gets it together enough for her.) If Del Toro can watch Creature from the Black Lagoon as a kid, get mad when the lady doesn't get with the evil swamp monster, then grow up to write and direct an elaborate fantic where the fishman and the lady fall in love and fuck, then get critical and audience acclaim, I can write whatever I gottamn want
