Paranormal/Fantasy Romance vampires and the vampire Caleb, a comparison.

Caleb has nice qualities, I swear, but as his creator, I'm morally obliged to poke fun at him. The horse tattoo is based on a real tattoo by an artist from the time Caleb was young. The same artist also designed a skunk tattoo, and I'm sure Caleb secretly has it.

Caleb brings Stafani home to meet his vampire family. (Not quite canon, but similar scenes do exist in the book.)

A writer confession: Sometimes, I just hate characters who are essential to the plot but don't fit my personal "aesthetic." Caleb's family, unfortunately, belongs in that category, and I'm struggling to write the Meet The Family chapter. Hence, this stupid comic.

I'm getting to the biggest fight scene in the vampire horror I'm writing, but I can't help but make the buildup really awkward.

Part of me wants to make it a tragic final stand.

The other part of me is doing this:

(I swear I can write fight scenes, just let me be stupid first.)

That's the vibe of the book, really. It's the most unhinged, unserious thing, but it packs a punch when it wants to.

Original characters from WIP "What We Do on the Murder Scene," a vampire small-town horror inspired by Twilight.

I apparently don't know what feet look like and realised halfway through that my sketchbook was back-to-front, so I was using the wrong side of the paper. It didn't mess up the colour too badly so I'm not complaining.

Normally, I don't ask anyone for anything here. Normally, I cry my ears off and that's it.

But today I'm hoping for the masses. The swarm. I'm hoping not to be alone.

In Germany, similar things are happening slowly, insidiously, and frighteningly to what's happening in England and America. Under the guise of protecting minors and women... What a lie. The CSU/CDU in Hesse recently presented a bill to the state parliament to list severely mentally ill people. The reason given is that they are a danger to themselves and others.

Now the Ministry of the Interior (someone from the CSU/CDU also sits here) has presented a bill to list trans, intersex, and non-binary people. The reason is youth protection, protection from crime.

If both bills come into force, then I'll be on both lists. Because i simply exist.

I just finished the 1st draft of the vampire romance/horror novel, and I am Officially Wrecked ™️.

This beast of a book has made me cry and miss sleep and punch my desk. I wrote 98,000 words in two months and am happy with it, which hasn't happened to me in years.

How long will I have the will to wait before jumping back in for editing? What am I to do with the life I've put on hold for this manuscript? Who am I?!
