Whoa ho ho, who wants to watch me eat crow?

That's right, it turns out that I've been wrong about Digimon for years. For fucking years. Holy shit.

So, for years, I've been under the impression that the language used for violence in the dub is toned down. Whenever I've watched the show in subs, they never shied away from using the 'k' word. Kill the children. Kill the small one. Kill them all.

The dub, of course, doesn't talk like this. It dances around that particular word, with terminology like "Destroy the DigiDestined" or "Defeat the children". Even when characters are clearly swinging to kill, it shies away from saying "kill". Because this is being localized as an American cartoon show for children.

But since I started posting the direct side-by-side dialogue comparisons in my episode breakdowns, I've been trying not to go entirely off the subtitles and instead listen to the words being used.

And I just noticed something. Every time they talk about killing the kids, they use the word taosu. That's. Uh. That's. Not. The word.

To my present-day understanding, the Japanese word for killing, korosu, is considered vulgar and inappropriate for children's television. So kids' cartoons will use the more dialed down taosu, which means to defeat or conquer or bring ruin.

That's right. "Destroy the DigiDestined!" has actually been an accurate translation of "Erabareshi kodomo-tachi taosu!" this whole time. It's the subtltlers, picking up on context, choosing to translate taosu as "kill".

My mind is blown right now.

While in the Wonderbolt Academy, Kevin and Alex Pruitt became friends when they helped Kevin's mother, Kate. Unfortunately, they'll soon have to become mortal enemies. Wendy and Kevin was released to theaters on June 22, 1955 to box office success. Akuyaku Reijou Level 99 kali ini baru sesuai sama judulnya. MC bereinkarnasi jadi tokoh jahat dari otome game yang dimainkannya sebelum matoy. Apa dia mengubah sikap jadi baik? No. Jadi diri sendiri dan semakin kuat, plus ditakuti.

Lebih ke isekai komedi menurut aku.

Alurnya gak kompleks, mungkin karena baru satu season, awal-awal cerita, jadi kurang diperlihatkan klimaksnya.

Ceritanya ringan. Cocok buat yang malas nonton isekai dengan alur berbelit.

Komedinya gak bikin ngakak, tapi sifat 'lugu' MC bikin kita bilang 'oh iya, haha'.

Pangerannya dungu 🤣🙏

La serie animata comincerà ad andare in onda in Giappone da gennaio.

Pubblicato da Kadokawa un quarto video promozionale, sempre sottotitolato in inglese, di “Kenja no Deshi wo Nanoru Kenja” (She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man), la serie animata tratta dall’omonima light novel fantasy isekai di Hirotsugu Ryusen, che sbarcherà sulle televisioni giapponesi a partire da gennaio 2022.

Il precedente aveva in sottofondo la sigla di testa, mentre questo trailer anticipa la sigla di coda intitolata “Ambitious”, cantata dal gruppo idol Erabareshi (My First Girlfriend is a Gal).

Anche questa volta, assieme al video è stata svelata una nuova locandina ufficiale per la serie, che mostra le due identità del protagonista: a sinistra l’anziano Danblf (doppiato da Isao Sasaki) e a destra la giovane Mira (interpretata da Nichika Omori).

Per quanto riguarda lo staff, l’adattamento è diretto da Keitaro Motonaga (Jormungand, Date A Live) presso STUDIO A-CAT (Soukou Musume Senki, Amazing Stranger).

La sceneggiatura è curata da Takamitsu Kouno (Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen, Absolute Duo), mentre il character design è ad opera di Kumi Horii (Soukou Musume Senki, Infinite Stratos 2). Le musiche per la colonna sonora sono invece composte da Go Sakabe (Date A Live, Digimon Adventure tri).

Il romanzo è incentrato su Kagami Sakimori, un giocatore di un MMO dove interpreta uno dei nove grandi saggi del mondo del gioco, lo stoico evocatore Dunbalf. Quando una notte si addormenta durante l’ennesima partita, si risveglia all'interno del mondo di gioco nei panni del proprio personaggio, che però ha le sembianze di una ragazza molto carina!

Ryusen ha iniziato a serializzare la light novel sul sito “Shōsetsuka ni Narō"  nell'aprile 2012, dove è ancora in corso di pubblicazione. Micro Magazine ha iniziato a pubblicare la storia con le illustrazioni di Fuzichoco (The 8th son? Are you kidding me?) nel giugno 2014. Al momento, l’opera è giunta al 15° volume.

Dicca Suemitsu ne ha lanciato un adattamento manga nel luglio 2016, che ad ora conta 8 volumetti.
