Davit Kiria vs Enriko Kehl - ONE Championship: First Strike

Davit Kiria has a chance to put his name down in the history books. The Georgian fighter will be part of the upcoming elimination round for the return of the K-1 WORLD MAX tournament. Already a -70kg tournament champion for Kunlun Fight and a former Glory lightweight champion, Kiria will look to add his name next to guys like Buakaw, Masato, Andy Souwer, Giorgio Petrosyan and other legends of the sport by winning the tournament.

Kiria will be fighting on the K-1 World MAX 2024 - World Tournament Opening Round card this Tuesday (March 19th) in the US. His opponent for the elimination round will be Thananchai Sitsongpeenong, a Rajadamnern Stadium champion. Card will be available on Triller TV.

Kiria’s out of the K-1 World Max so I guess just enjoy this fight between him and Kehl.

Russia and Germany were among the 19 countries represented at “ONE: Enter the Dragon” on May 17, 2019. ONE Championship held the combat sports event at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore.

Featuring 10 mixed martial arts matches and six ONE Super Series contests, which were six kickboxing bouts, “ONE: Enter the Dragon” was the Singapore-based martial arts organization’s second event in 2019 that took place in Singapore. The fifth bout was between Dzhabar “Genghis Khan” Askerov, 33, of Russia and Enriko “The Hurricane” Kehl, 27, of Germany.

Askerov and Kehl solely represented Russia and Germany, respectively, at “ONE: Enter the Dragon.” Australia, Argentina, Brazil, China, France, India, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Moldova, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine and the United States were also represented.

Adriano Moraes Finishes Demetrious Johnson At ‘ONE on TNT I’

ONE Championship promised excitement leading up to its "ONE on TNT" series – and in the first event, the organization lived up to expectations.

“ONE on TNT I” went down on Thursday, 8 April, and saw a ONE World Champion defeat one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time.

In the main event, ONE Flyweight World Champion Adriano “Mikinho” Moraes knocked out 12-time Flyweight World Champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson in the second round of their World Title clash.

The bout got off to a cautious start, as both men tried to find a way past each other’s defense. A few scrambles ensued and strikes were exchanged, but nothing telling happened until round two.

That was when the defending ONE Flyweight World Champion hit Johnson with an uppercut. "Mighty Mouse" fell to the canvas, and when he tried to get back to his feet, Moraes connected with a knee that instantly turned the American’s lights off.

Moraes followed up with ground-and-pound, forcing the referee to wave off the action. As a result, the Brazilian notched his 19th career victory and became the first person to finish Johnson.

In the co-main event, Eddie “The Underground King” Alvarez was disqualified after inadvertently striking opponent and #2-ranked lightweight contender Iuri Lapicus on the back of the head.

Just one minute into the fight, Alvarez had Lapicus on the ground near the Circle Wall and was throwing punches over his rival's shoulder. Some of those punches landed on the back of the Moldovan’s head, which caused referee Justin Brown to pause the action and give Lapicus a five-minute recovery period.

Lapicus, however, could not continue, so the referee was forced to give "The Underground King" a red card.

Alvarez sent a heartfelt message to Lapicus and all the fans afterward, and he even praised the referee for doing his job. But because the American received the red card, he was disqualified from the contest, giving the Moldovan the win.

With Glory seemingly discontinuing the lightweight division, champion Tyjani Beztati is all set to make a run up at welterweight. After 3 years of dominance in the Glory ring, I'm interested to see him up a weight class. Especially as Glory has been unable to sign any of the other top lightweights out there right now.

Beztati will be welcomed at welterweight by former Glory Welterweight champion Endy Semeleer in the main event of Glory 93 this Saturday (July 20).

“ONE: Age of Dragons” is the next ONE Championship event to take place in China. Added to the card is a featherweight kickboxing between nriko “The Hurricane” Kehl, 27, of Thuringia, Germany and Armen Petrosyan, 32, of Gorizia, Italy.

ONE Championship will hold “ONE: Age of Dragons” at the Cadillac Arena in Beijing, China on November 16, 2019. Including the featherweight bout between Kehl and Petrosyan, the combat sports event will feature 12 matches not only in mixed martial arts but also in ONE Championship’s striking-only league ONE Super Series with kickboxing and Muay Thai contests.

Born in Wetzlar, Hesse, Germany on February 19, 1992, Kehl was 5 years old when he started his training in kung fu. He has been competing professionally since 2009 and is currently training at Tempel Fightschool in Darmstadt, Hesse, Germany.

Petrosyan is of Armenian descent and was born in Yerevan, Armenia on November 6, 1986. He is representing Team Leone Petrosyan.

In the main event of “ONE: Age of Dragons,” reigning ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion Ilias Ennahachi of the Netherlands will defend his World Title against challenger “Metal Storm” Wang Wenfeng of China. In the co-main event, Tarik “The Tank” Khbabez of Morocco and Roman Kryklia of Ukraine will do battle for the inaugural ONE Light Heavyweight Kickboxing World Championship.

ONE Championship has also announced a partnership with Bloomage International. As the strategic partner, the latter will work closely with the Singapore-based martial arts organization in developing its brand across all platforms.

ONE Championship Adds Two World-Class Strikers To Its ONE Super Series Roster

The World’s Largest Martial Arts Organization, ONE Championship, has added two more world-class strikers to its already stacked ONE Super Series roster.  

On Friday, 15 May, the promotion announced the signing of kickboxing sensation “The Bucharest Bad Boy” Bogdan Stoica. 

The Bucharest native, a two-time wushu national champion, has an impressive 52-12 record, with 37 of those victories coming by way of knockout.  

Throughout his 12-year professional career, the 30-year-old has shared the ring with several top names such as Ibrahim El Bouni, Israel Adesanya, Antonio Plazibat, James Phillips, and Ibrahim Giydirir.  

Apart from his wushu championships, Stoica has also held the SUPERKOMBAT Cruiserweight World Championship, WKU Cruiserweight World Title, and the Enfusion Light Heavyweight World Title.  

Though a date for his debut on the global stage of martial arts has not yet been confirmed, fans can expect him to deliver a striking masterclass, just like his brother Andrei “Mister KO” Stoica.  

“Mister KO” has made three ONE appearances thus far, knocking out Anderson Silva in his most recent bout in December 2019 to earn a shot at Roman Kryklia’s ONE Light Heavyweight Kickboxing World Title.

Aside from signing the Romanian heavy-hitter, The Home Of Martial Arts also penned a deal with Thailand’s striking sensation “The Killer Kid” Sittichai Sitsongpeenong on Thursday, 14 May. 

The 12-time kickboxing and Muay Thai World Champion holds an astonishing professional record with 124 wins from 160 bouts.  

Despite being only 28 years old, the Buriram native has triumphed against more experienced athletes like Dzhabar “Genghis Khan” Askerov, Andy “Souwer Power” Souwer, Sorgraw Petchyindee Academy, Enriko “The Hurricane” Kehl, and Superbon Banchamek.

ONE will be the perfect place for him to expand his impressive resume, as the organization boasts world-beaters in the striking art such as “The Boxing Computer” Yodsanklai IWE Fairtex, reigning ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy, and ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix Champion Giorgio “The Doctor” Petrosyan.
