Update on my 'Make a full account of all the plants and animals of the isles' project; just found out there's a gosh darn npc in the DLC *with the exact same goal*. Mirili Ulven. 1000000% shipping her and my former artist from summerset now consumed with the exact same compulsive desire together. Just imagining them vibing in the home in Highcross, her writing about all the plants and animals and my character drawing them. Anyways. More pretty screenshots because alongside taking photos of every single plant and animal (except grasses. Fuck grasses) I'm seeing soooo many pretty sights to see!!!

Another update on the 'catalogue all the plants and animals of the Shivering Isles'/Encyclopedia Sheothia project - I *think* I've got all the plants down and closing in on all the animals. Then it's a matter of identifying the non-fantastical plants (Damn you trees!!), assigning probably just made up headcanon names to the totally fantasy unnamed plants, and putting it all together! Also the urge to take screenshots galore of the Isles continues.

Update on the 'map out all the ecology of the shivering isles' project AKA Encyclopedia Sheothia!! Managed to rope a friendo in who knows IRL plants really well and she's helping to identify the unnamed/non-alchemy ingredient plants seen in the isles! So far we've confirmed the little red flowers seen all over Mania are almost definitely Poppies (very fitting, I feel, with how you can get a drug outta them too!) aaaand the red leaved trees that, likewise, dot mania are *most likely* supposed to be/inspired by Sugar Maple! Also, since they are otherwise totally unnamed and there's no way of GETTING a name for them (that'd be official) we've settled on naming the light blue/azure colored mushrooms that dot the Isles (pictured below) the Russula Cyaneus

Aurona, my character for the current Shivering Isles playthrough and eyes and ears in the Isles as I work on the Encyclopedia Sheothia! Don't have a ton of backstory for her yet but the basics are that she was originally a daughter of a noble family from the Summerset Isles, was an *expert* painter, focused on still lifes as her 'main deal'. Overtime was haunted/blessed with more and more visions of the Isles and other things from Sheo's mind. Her paintings grew more and more twisted, less and less reflections of the real. Flowers with teeth in place of pollen, trees with hands for leaves, vines that twisted and twirled over a rock and if you looked at it *just so* you would realize that they were intestines and veins. Eventually it got bad enough her family tried to stop her painting, because people were Beginning To Talk, that just made things worse, and Sheo eventually stepped in and snatched her away to the Isles. Now she's obsessing over all the new plants and creatures of the Isles and just NEEDS to take them all in. Put them all to paper. Freeze them in her mind's eye and put that vision into the world. Figure out *exactly* how they work, not just how they look. Annnnnd ya. Now resident of Highcross in Mania, 'research assistant' of Mirili Ulven, probably eventually wives because I CANNAE HELP BUT SHIP THEM!!! Honestly will probably do art of her at some point. Wholly unintended OC but she's wormed into my brain like mad!!
