Typhoid Mary (Mary Brown) was an Irish immigrant (also you immigrant haters should probably know that immigrants actually revitalize civilizations through cultural exchange and prevent them from dying from stagnation, so you should probably think about that) who became the poster girl for asymptomatic spread of diseases. She had typhoid, of course, and she worked as a specialist for desserts. Meaning the stuff she was preparing didn't even go through a cooking process that would have mostly killed the typhoid bacteria she was spreading from her unwashed hands (typhoid comes from contaminated water that has fecal matter with the bacteria in it...or just the infested fecal matter, btw). It's unknown where she contracted it and typhoid was still pretty prevalent at this time in a lot of places, so it could have been anywhere.
Anyway, this woman was unknowingly leaving a trail of dead bodies behind her. When the members of one family died, she just sought employment elsewhere and became their new dessert cook. Someone finally connected the dots and discovered that although she was pretty healthy and not experiencing any symptoms of typhoid, she was still capable of spreading the its bacteria.
She ended up in quarantine. They warned her (and explained to her why) when they decided to release her that she had to not work as a cook. A flare of typhoid cases started up again and lo and behold, there was Mary Brown again. Eventually, even after working at a lawyer's office and other places, she ended up in quarantine once more (it was a prison, pretty much, I think the same place off the coast of NYC where they held incoming immigrants) indefinitely because this woman apparently could not learn to wash her hands and not handle food meant for others.
It's hard to know whether to feel bad for Mary because she was uneducated, but at the same time, she appeared to have a flippant attitude to this apparent ability of being able to kill off entire families by touching their food. One has to wonder if she didn't start doing it on purpose after a certain point or if she just was as stubborn as a mule when it came to learning, despite the breakthroughs in science in regards to typhoid while she was imprisoned. Typhoid is even preventable by, surprise surprise, vaccination. If you're traveling to a third-world country where their water systems are really bad and full of human waste, you can get typhoid and die horribly from it. You can literally shit yourself to death from it, which I don't think anyone wants. 'Here lies John Doe, he shat himself to death.'
Also, Typhoid Mary is why it is a requirement for washing your hands if you work in restaurants.

You: The horrific conditions being experienced by these children are absolutely unacceptable, and betray the values of our state.
You: <Insert optional comments here>
You: Furthermore, I am also calling on [Cruz/Cornyn] to support their colleague Senator Feinstein’s Keep Families Together Act. President Trump has clearly and repeatedly stated he would support a bill to keep families together, so I expect [Cruz/Cornyn] to follow the GOP agenda.

Talking points for Texas residents re: local/state electeds re: the detention facilities (06/13)
What did the city/county/state know about these proposals to hold children in warehouses, with limited access to fresh air? Does local city/county/state official condone these practices?
If yes: does [official] understand that these kids are in conditions that are comparable to what certain criminals experience in jail?
If no: great. How will [elected] address this with their federal counterparts? I do not support facilities like these, and want [elected] to exert all possible pressure with their federal counterparts.
Will [elected] come out with a public statement condemning these facilities?

For House/Senators re: DHS’s Zero tolerance policy (opening investigations) Talking points post-Trump executive order (6/20)
The Executive Order would only create family detention centers which would continue to lead to expanded camps.
The executive order doesn't offer recourse for reuniting already- separated families The EO gives wide discretion to DHS Secretary Nielsen
Crossing the border will be deemed a criminal violation, vs. a civil one (which will lead to parents being charged criminally; and children likely being taken)
The EO doesn't address asylum seekers, and will still prohibit anyone seeking asylum under domestic violence/gang violence from seeking asylum
The House bill (Border Security and Immigration Reform Act) will also not fully address these concerns.
Call the capitol switchboard: (202) 224-3121 #ICALLEDMYREPS @CELESTE PEWTER
Talking points re: the DOJ/DHS following Trump's Executive Order signing (6/20)
Ask the DOJ/DHS stop lying about the origins of zero tolerance policy - it's well documented it's a Trump Administration policy
Stop using Flores to justify this policy.
Stop saying it's about the wall. Democrats have actually offered funding for the wall before (during the DACA debate) and the GOP/Trump Administration passed. This is NOT about the wall
Per news reports this morning, DHS thought the zero tolerance policy would deter border crossings. According to public documents sited by outlets like the Hill, crossings have actually gone up, including crossings by unaccompanied minor children
The Executive order doesn't have a recourse for how families will be reunited. How will the DOJ/DHS address this?
Stop insisting this is up to Congress to act - this is a DHS/DOJ created problem
Call your SENATORS post-Trump's executive order signing re: family separation (06/22)
You: Hi, my name is [name]. I am calling from [zip code} You: I am calling to ask Senators to continue to do everything in their legislative power to address the DHS/DOJ's zero tolerance policy. You: This week's executive order does not adequately solve the problem of family separation; it just creates family detention centers, and doesn't address the overarching problem. You: We also need clarity on how this executive order helps the children who have already been separated. The administration is claiming 500 kids have been reunited. When will we get proof? When is this rumored staging ground in Texas supposed to be complete?
Dem Senators: Finally, I'd like to call on [Senator] to continue to express support for Feinstein's Keep Families Together Act. GOP Senators: I am calling on [Senator] to support Feinstein's Keep Families Together. You: <Additional comments>

Call both chambers re: asking for Secretary Nielsen's resignation (06/18)
You: Hi, my name is [name]. I am calling from [zip code]. You: I am calling on [elected] to issue a public statement to ask for Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen's resignation. Not only has she been complicit in helping the Trump Administration institute their new zero tolerance policy, she has lied repeatedly to the public on the policy, and what it does and doesn't do. You: I am calling on [elected] to follow in congressional colleague Senator Kamala Harris's footsteps, and call for Secretary Nielsen's resignation immediately. You: <insert optional comment>

Call your GOVERNORS and ask them to direct the national guard to NOT send resources to the border (06/18)
You: Hi, my name is [name]. I am calling from [zip code].
You: I am calling to ask [GOVERNOR] to please follow Governor Baker of Massachusetts, by instructing the national guard to not deploy to the US-Mexico border. The National Guard cannot and should not be used to further assist in enforcing the Zero Tolerance policy being enacted by the Trump Administration.
You: I am also calling on [GOVERNOR] to commit to signing an executive order similar to Governor Hickenlooper of Colorado, prohibiting any state resources from being used to asssist the Trump Administration's efforts to enforce the zero tolerance policy. I understand it's largely ceremonial, but I want [GOVERNOR] to commit to taking a stand.

Talking points re: JAG corps allegedly being assigned to try cases at the border (06/22)
JAG lawyers have different rules to follow than civilian lawyers. How can we be sure they'll follow proper procedure when trying cases? How will any appeals process on behalf of the defendant be impacted (if applicable) given that military and civilian appeals are different?
WHY are we letting DHS/HHS utilize DOD resources, for something that is strictly in DHS/HHS territory? What is the justification?
Should we not be concerned we're allowing military personnel to handle civilian affairs? This is conflating multiple departments and cross issues.
Call the capitol switchboard: (202) 224-3121 #ICALLEDMYREPS @CELESTE PEWTER
Call your GOVERNORS and ask them to continue issuing directives to NOT support border efforts + support their requests for clarity on children in their respective states (06/22)
You: Hi, my name is [name]. I am calling from [zip code]
You: I am calling to ask [GOVERNOR] to continue to refuse to utilize any state resources that would help the federal government's zero tolerance policy. [GOVERNOR] should commit to signing an executive order similar to Governor Hickenlooper of Colorado.
If there are children in your state: I am also calling on [Governor] to continue to be vocal on the need to get accurate numbers on how many children are in our state, and where these facilities are. I ask [Governor] to do everything in their power to tour these facilities. Accountability is needed. You: <insert optional comments here>
Find your governor's contact info here: https://openstates.org #ICALLEDMYREPS @CELESTE PEWTER
Call your local electeds to request a resolution condemning the zero tolerance policy/family separation (6/22)
You: Hi, my name is [name]. I am calling from [address/zip code].
You: I am calling to ask [MAYOR/CITY COUNCILMEMBER] to please endorse a resolution that makes clear [CITY] does not condone the Trump Administration's current immigration practices, including family separation, family detention centers, and the refusal to provide asylum to those who are seeking it under domestic violence and gang violence.
You: Yesterday's federal executive order does little to solve the problem. Families are still separated, and the executive order only opens up the pathway to family detention centers.
You: I am calling on [MAYOR/CITY COUNCILMEMBER] to show what our city stands for, and take a stand. You: <insert optional comment here>

Call your Attorneys general, and ask them to join the multi-state lawsuit. (06/22)
You: Hi, my name is [name]. I am calling from [zip code].
You: I am calling on [AG] to join the other state attorneys generals who are planning on suing the Trump Administration to compel reunification for the 2.3K children separated from their families.
You: As Maryland's AG Frosh confirmed in an interview: the executive order does not adequately address the problems that have resulted in family separation; including how to reunite the families, and the government appears to not have a concrete plan.
You: Please sign onto the lawsuit and compel the administration to act.
You: <insert optional comment>

USCIS Re-Starts EB-5 Regional Center Program
On March 15, 2022, President Joe Biden signed a law [link] that included provisions that authorize the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Regional Center Program through September 30, 2027. The EB-5 Regional Center Program had expired on June 30, 2021, after Congress did not pass legislation reauthorizing it. Under the reauthorized Regional Center Program, investors will be required to invest $800,000 in a targeted employment area or infrastructure project. The new law provides that 20% of the annual allocation of EB-5 visa numbers will go to those seeking to invest in targeted rural areas, 10% for those seeking to invest in targeted high employment areas, and 2% for investors in infrastructure projects. The law provides that EB-5 derivatives can apply for adjustment when the principal investor applies his or her EB-5 petition. It also includes new provisions for USCIS inspections of targeted employment area sites and rules governing what qualifies as investment funds under statute e.g., new rules clarifying how gifts and loans are treated.
We will update the site with information about changes to the EB-5 Regional Center Program when the USCIS updates its guidance [link].
We have excerpted the pertinent part of the new law relating to the EB-5 Regional Center Program for your convenience [PDF version].

GMB Keyword Stuffing https://www.reddit.com/r/SEO/comments/fggo8o/gmb_keyword_stuffing/
Keyword stuffing in GMB names seems to be a pretty common practice these days, and it appears to help with ranking, despite being against the Google TOS.
As an example, if you search for "nyc lawyers", you'll see many results that include keywords like "immigration" or "tenant" in their names, while the business name on their website does not have those keywords.
Some of the names are pretty out there, like this one:
LANDLORD TENANT ATTORNEYS 24 HOUR HOTLINE
Reporting these violations previously required suggesting edits one by one, or trying your luck on the GMB forum. Disputing several at a time wasn't really an option.
Google recently added the "business redressal form", and it allows spreadsheets to be uploaded so that many listings can be disputed at once.
I created a tool for myself that can take a query like "nyc lawyers" and scan through GMB listings for keyword stuffing. It takes every listing it suspects of being stuffed and creates a row in a spreadsheet that includes the name, Maps URL, GMB screenshot, and a thumbnail of their website as evidence.
Having keywords (i.e. "ticket", "employment", or "divorce" for law listings) in the name, but with no roughly similar name on the website will cause it to be added to the list.
It has a few things to improve:
Sometimes the business name is only contained inside an image. Right now my script can't extract that, but I'm looking at doing image OCR to fix those cases.
If the business has a super generic name, the Google maps link might not resolve to exactly that business but will show suggestions instead.
I'd like to try this tool out for other people. Not asking for anything other than feedback. If you give me a local business search query (i.e. "chicago plumbers"), I can give you a spreadsheet to put into the redressal form. It'll take me a little time, as this isn't a perfect process by any means.

Find justice through the help of a competent employment law attorney

Usually people file lawsuits due to racial discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, occupational hazards, and disputes regarding their salaries and benefits. Apart from their complexity, employment laws are changing. If the plaintiff doesn’t realize whether or not to push a lawsuit, speaking with NY labor attorney greatly helps. By way of the lawyer's assistance, the plaintiff will be able to handle the situation properly.
Do employment disputes solve in court?
Litigation is not always the best choice since there are instances in which it is better to discuss a settlement. It is the duty of your lawyer to be sure of the situation cautiously, in order to assist their clientele see which thing to do is more helpful for them. And mainly because the employment law attorney knows that strong cases will likely fail because of wrong actions, they make sure that everything is on the good side.
Finding a great employment lawyer
There are several employment lawyers in New York but not all of them could give excellent legal representation. The plaintiff needs to contemplate some factors when searching for the ideal legal professional to represent her or him. Apart from experience, it's also vital that you take into account the knowledge, skill, and fee structure of the labor attorney. It is indeed needed for the attorney to learn about the up to date labor laws in both state and federal levels.
When hiring a business immigration attorney NY, it is very important to take note of their fee structure. It would be best to look at the payment arrangement first before settling to a particular legal professional. Ideally, your lawyer should offer a timeline as to when their client's case will be done and resolved.

Asking recommendations from friends, relatives, or colleagues is the ideal method to start searching for the best one to hire. Preferably, ask someone who already won an employment related case.
