Chartered accountants who are not registered auditors may not act as or hold out to be auditors in public practice. However, the AP Act does not prohibit non-RAs from using the description ‘internal auditor’ or ‘accountant’, or from auditing a not-for-profit club, institution or association if they receive no fee for such audit.
In South Africa the Companies Act was replaced, with effect in July 2010, to allow companies without a public interest to choose between an audit or an independent review. A review is not an attest function and will be performed by accountants who are members of bodies that are registered in terms of the Close Corporations Act of 1984, which include SAIBA, CIMA, SAICA, SAIPA and ACCA. Sri Lanka In Sri Lanka, the title of Chartered Accountant (CA Sri Lanka) can be used by only members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka. These could be Associate Members (ACA) and Fellows (FCA). Chartered accountants holding practising certificates may also become Registered Auditors, who are able to perform statutory financial audits in accordance with the Companies Act, No. 07 of 2007. The Journey Begins
Hi, to give a quick introduction about myself, I am writing my CA Final Examinations in May, 2017 for the FIFTH TIME..yes, you have hear it right.
To give a brief background, I have ventured in to the CA fraternity from an MPC background and have cleared CPT in the first attempt and went on to complete IPCC in the second attempt. I have been fortunate to complete my Articleship with the biggest mid-size firm in my city. I have later stated working with a Big-4 Firm for the past one year and have given my previous two attempts while working with the Firm.
To be really honest, I am to blame no one but my self for not having passed CA Final until now. I have always taken my studies seriously throughout my life and I don’t know what happened but not once have I even put half of my efforts in to studying for CA Final nor did I attend any coaching other than AMA and ISCA. I have just attempted Group II during all the previous attempts and not once have I studied even one subject completely. A part of me is dying inside to say that I have never even started studying Direct Taxes for CA Final till date.
Remember the saying “Better late than never”? I have not been more ashamed of myself in my life and it is high time to put  a stop to this debacle. I cannot bear to disappoint my Parents any further and I cannot let my self down anymore. I have taken the difficult decision of quitting my job and have taken it upon myself to give it everything that I have got and clear the CA Final Examinations in 2017.
The intention behind me writing this Journal is to help CA Final Aspirants in knowing the various ways to tackle the hardships faced in preparation, various strategies to be employed, etc. I am obviously not going to impose anything on anyone but this website is strictly meant to be as a reference only so that everyone can benefit from my efforts and learn from any errors that I may commit.
Active participation of users is highly recommended by way of comments to the posts and the forum. If you have followed a different way to approach any topic or if you have any suggestions for the other students out there, please do post it using the comments module at the end of each post and also the Forums page.
Coming back to my Journal, Today is 16th January and I am yet to full fledgedly start my preparation. I have come to a study room in my locality so that I can completely focus on studying throughout the day. Yes, I know that there is very less time but I am very determined to dedicate myself completely to my studies starting today and give it my best shot.
Looking on the brighter side, since I am listening to classes now, they will be etched in my memory as the exams are less than three months away. My strategy is to study one practical subject and one theory subject simultaneously everyday so that I won’t get exhausted doing the same thing.
