Anime recs for The Radiant Emperor enjoyers
I was watching the new Ooku anime on Netflix some weeks ago and I thought it hit that ”court drama dealing with gender roles and making me cry” spot that He Who Drowned the World has been occupying in my heart lately (even if it engages with some of these themes very differently).
Somehow that got me thinking about other anime that might align with the vibes and themes in The Radiant Emperor book series and eventually came up with this list.
Some of those themes include gender roles, queerness, disability, politics, oppression, rebellion, revenge, impossible and messy relationships and tragedy. Darker themes like war, violence, sexual assault etc are also often present. Please lmk if you agree or disagree with these choices and feel free to add more!
Dororo (2019)
Historical fantasy based on Osamu Tezuka’s manga classic from the 1960s.
An orphan who hides her gender in order to survive meets a young man who fights demons to claim back his body parts that his father traded away in a demonic pact. There’s tons of pain and tough moral questions and complicated family relationships, and the way Hyakkimaru deals with having lost and then slowly regaining parts of himself is super interesting.
24 episodes. Stream on Prime Video, Hidive
The Heike Story (2022)
Retelling of the historical epic Heike monogatari through the eyes of an orphan girl who gains the ability to see supernatural things after her father’s passing. Inevitability of fate, the impermanence of all existence, praying for your loved ones’ happiness in the next life, all of these things are beautifully woven in this visually stunning story. The story also hits different when you know that Heike monogatari was traditionally performed by blind musicians and singers.
11 episodes. Stream on Cruncyroll, Apple TV
Inu-oh (2022)
Historical fantasy. Two outcasts find each other and change the history with their music in this story that also pays respect to the Heike monogatari’s origin as a singing tradition. Focus on things like identity, disability, nonconformity, ghosts. Yes, the ghosts part is important. Also, the gender expressions and the bond between the two main characters is something I’ve seen a lot of queer/trans ppl relate to and Inu-oh is voiced by none other than the trans icon Avu-chan.
Movie. Stream on Hulu
Ōoku: The Inner Chambers (2023)
Alternate history where most men in Japan have been wiped out by a mysterious disease. Very much a court drama centered in the Tokugawa shogun’s residence where men serve the woman shogun as concubines (and sometimes have relationships with each other). Also, one of the main characters is a monk who ends up giving up his vows! Based on Fumi Yoshinaga’s acclaimed manga that has also been adapted to various live action movies and drama series.
10 episodes. Stream on Netflix
Toward the Terra (2007)
Scifi classic with two main characters who are at the opposing sides but feel inexplicably connected. There’s just so many insane relationships and emotions here, I still have not recovered from the ”I want to kill you but I will also protect you with my own life” thing…… Based on the 1970s manga by Keiko Takemiya. Not to be confused with the movie from 1980.
24 episodes. Available on DVD
Devilman Crybaby (2018)
Apocalyptic fantasy with demons and stuff. Based on the classic 1970s manga by Go Nagai.
I don’t even know how to describe the story, it’s just the tragedy, the queer yearning, the ”I killed the one I loved and then it was too late”, the ”things will get bad and then they will get worse” vibe that I think is very fitting. This one has the most extreme violent and sexual content out of the series on this list.
10 episodes. Stream on Netflix
Banana Fish (2018)
Gang wars, mystery drugs and complicated emotions set in New York. Based on the iconic 1980s manga by Akemi Yoshida. Deals heavily with trauma and CSA.
You guessed right, this one is also a tragedy. If you love Ouyang and/or Baoxiang, you’re probably going to love Lee Yut-Lung. That’s all I’m going to say.
24 episodes. Stream on Amazon Prime

HERE IS WHY SHIRLULU IS LEGITIMATE SHIP -PART 7
Warning: I'm not a writer and English is not my native language. So kindly bare it or DM me about it. Criticism is welcomed not hate.
Continuation
GOLDEN ANIME STANDARDS FOR THE LOVE INTEREST -
There are numbers of shonen animes were the female lead and love interest are aren't the same and the love interest doesn't get much screen space.
Eg. Yu Yu Hakusha - Boton always accompanies the hero but Keiko is the love interest.
Shirley was created to be his love interest and unlike Kallen and CC, her entire character story is based on her relationship with Lelouch and how she handles it.
Shirley was chosen to be Lelouch's love interest to show his human side, to show his struggle to strike a balance between his goal and his feelings.
Reasons
1. Nickname
Shirley is the only person to ever give a nickname to Lelouch, "Lulu" and except for her, no one calls him that.
2. Discovering his identity
Usually anime, which consists of a hero with a double life, The love interest is the first one to discover his other identity.
First person to discover about Lelouch's identity as Zero and even after losing her memories she still discovered that he is zero and knew it till the end of R1. (she had a lot of potential).
3. Romance
ShirLulu has their own story with romance , angst and comedy. Their moments are explicitly romance.(explained in part 1 -part 6)
Angst element - Lelouch killed her father, and Shirley gets to know the truth and how both of them deal with their emotions, respectively.
A small backstory with Shirley's dad was added to catalyze their story. This gives a green signal for Shirlulu and also hints at Lelouch's feelings for Shirley.
RomCom element - Lelouch, who can turn situations around and accomplish the impossible, is a total dummy when it comes to romance and handling Shirley.
It's hilarious how he doesn't have a chance against Shirley.
4. Parallel with Nunnally
Lelouch is promising to fulfill Shirley's wish, like he did with Nunnally. Lelouch has always been sweet to Nunnally and Shirley.
These parallels make it seem like Shirley is the next important person after Nunnally.
Ironically, both of them have the least interaction with Lelouch, yet they are very important to him
5. Crossroads
Almost all Shonen animes have this classic scene where the hero ha to his loved ones without forgetting his purpose. He would be at a crossroads and ultimately manages to save both.
R1 stage 08
Shirley, Nina, and Milly were kidnapped by a Japanese gang.
The narrative was like how will Lelouch would manage to save Shirley while still being against Britannia, typical like a hero at crossroads.
6. Kidnapping
Another classic is the heroine getting kidnapped by the antagonist, and the hero has to save her. Usually, the kidnapping is done to show the importance of the heroine to him and also to level up the hero.
R1 Stage 14
Mao confrontation -he had to save Shirley from mao
7. Geass
Shirley is the only person to be geass-ed thrice. Twice by Lelouch and once by the emperor and also got the Geass cancelled by Jeremiah.
8. Hints
Lelouch has Nunnally, Suzaku, CC, and Kallen, yet It's Shirley's death that emphasizes Lelouch path of solitude.
Lelouch killed Euphy with a gun, and Shirley got killed by a gun. Suzaku lost his love due to Lelouch, and as Karma Lelouch has to lose his.
Even after their death, Shirley and Euphy were mentioned still the end of the series.( Rolo and Nunnally are mentioned too but the meaning is different).
R1 went in the direction of Shirley being the love interest (they were direct), but since Shirlulu failed to be popular, Makers made Shirlulu take a back seat, making them subtle in R2.

ice and snow spoilers issues #1 through #3
usagi’s arm—the one that got smashed by a kappa that one time—being the arm that got dragged by the yuki-onna 👀👀👀
watching keiko and jei eat. i’m gonna think of the emperor’s ban on meat until the day i die. meat was something basically everyone enjoyed anyway, if they could get their hands on it (the hikone clan gifting “medicine” to the emperor, the illicit meat market trade in the bigger cities, the fact that poorer towns with poorer harvests relied on hunting as another avenue for food), but these two really don’t do things by half, huh.
jei casually rooting through someone’s mind and memories, his victims eyes momentarily going white.
side note, i love these little details, like their (straw?) winter capes being “well-oiled to make them waterproof and keep in the heat,” i was wondering how those worked.
for tbs au stuff, i’ve been looking into housing around this general era. and it’s interesting to compare the few remaining farmer houses of the edo period (along with some amazing recreations in japanese museums), to what stan puts on the page. he’s a comic artist, and that means he has to work fast, and that means simplifying a lot of what he works with. no one except the nitpickers are going to care if his houses look less than lived in when there’s a greater story going on.
and in this case, it makes sense if the yuki-onna doesn’t have that much stuff lying around.
nonsequitor: yuki-onna’s fire burnt hair cut looks kinda gay (approving)
jei proves to be far more interesting when his face isn’t just stuck like that. or when he’s having opinions.
for the longest time, part of jei’s only slightly interesting angle was the fact that he was shrouded in mystery. but in my opinion, that’s held him back a lot. having keiko around, spilling his backstory, having him interact with other supernatural beings—all of that helps him become more like a character than a force of nature. which, in theory, sounds a little like a downgrade. but it’s not. lord hikiji can pull off the former, because his actions are used very sparsely by stan sakai, while simultaneously ghosting the entirety of the narrative. there is no story without him. by comparison, we get a lot of jei. and it only serves to draw attention to how little substance he has as a character.
he doesn’t have an arc. he never learns anything or grows (prior to keiko). he interacts with bandits the most (this is what, the second or third time he’s become someone’s boss?), but only to kill them really. and watching them cower around him gets real old, real fast.
even watching him fight usagi isn’t actually that interesting. i’m never as worried for usagi as i am for other characters. (rest in peace, inazuma—and hold on yukichi.)
unrelated: jei is made of void, confirmed /j

WELCOME TO THE COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE TO ALL THE IMPORTANT PLOT POINTS IN OUR OVERARCHING STORY SO FAR :
ACT ONE.
the demigods of the ark heard about the death of zeus in the hands of one of his demigod children, electra. not much was known about electra's motives nor where she received the power to kill a deity. however, they knew that she was trying to amass more power in every way she could ────── from gaining the innovator cyclops' favor, invading acoma for a dragon, to attempting to kill her half-brother, harlan, so she can steal his nemean pelt. ultimately, electra and her co-conspirator, xochitl, a daughter of tezcatlipoca, were killed by the demigods of the ark.
harlan, aleki, and cepos were also killed in their final skirmish against electra. thousands of gecko rose from the earth, attempting to abduct the bodies : and they managed to save every body, even electra, with the exception of cepos. aleki was also able to return to life after reid and armando ventured to rarohenga, with the help of levin, to retrieve his soul.
after some research and investigation, the demigods uncover that those geckos were agents of whiro-te-tepua, the pasifika god of evil, seeking to consume the bodies of demigods to absorb their powers.
the demigods of the ark were also alerted about the missing imperial regalia of the shinto pantheon. keiko, a guardian kitsune, helped the demigods in their investigation. their first lead ? sugaru, a legendary hunter rumored to have been resurrected through one of the stolen treasures. the demigods managed to defeat the hunter, but at the cost of keiko's life. and although the legendary hunter didn't possess any of the relics, his defeat led to their next lead : the three great onryo of japan.
after a number of decomposing, flayed bodies were discovered near a phalanstery in the olympic national park in washington, the demigods were sent to infiltrate a cult with possible connections to xipe totec, the aztec god of nature and ritual flaying. cassia, the cult's leader, reveals that the god showed her glimpses of future where both natural and man-made disasters befall the earth. and to prevent the end of world in the hands of humankind, she revealed that xipe totec would need blood and ritualistic sacrifices to return to this realm and bring forth change that will return power to nature instead of the man.
the demigods also investigated the disturbances in the ley lines, leading them to a place called mirrored lake where these lines intersect. there, they felt magic being siphoned, and saw spirits wandering and unable to pass into to the underworld. they discovered a cabin near the lake, but frightened by what might be inside, the demigods cut their investigations short and returned to camp.
and after everything they went through, the demigods were able to have some time to rest and relax, invited to the flying city of acoma for the dance of dragons festival.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤ
ㅤㅤㅤㅤ
ACT TWO.
tragedy struck when the roman camp was massacred and left in ruins, and amongst the dead were friends of the ark. the demigods of the ark discovered the slaughter to be the work of caligula, a cruel emperor that had somehow came back to life. they launched a rescue mission, freeing the surviving roman demigods from the emperor's torture dungeons.
with so many threats on the horizon and questions left unanswered, the demigods began finding answers where they least expected it. ratatoskr, the guardian of the world tree and ally of the ark, was inflicted with madness when he followed oran to a meeting with a woman ( revealed to be also named electra, and described as woman of light ) ────── but was ultimately caught. in his mad ramblings, the squirrel revealed thor's death and the corruption of the world tree. one of the ark's demigods, amant, attempted to look into the norse god of thunder's death and experienced the god's death in his own's eyes : and the killer ? a towering figure that wore jaguar pelts and wielded an obsidian blade.
attuning more into his seer abilities, waaiz also tried to find answers to his questions. using the threads of fate to uncover the reason for seth's sudden disappearance, waaiz received a vision of persephone, the greek goddess of spring and queen of the underworld, at the roots of yggdrasil, the world tree. the goddess tried to use the tree to manipulate the fabric of reality ────── attempting to turn gods into mortals, but it backfired when the tree reacted violently to her tampering. rifts in reality began to open and yggdrasil became corrupted by the incomprehensible power leaking from the rifts ... affecing its lateral roots, also known as the ley lines spanning around the world.
the shinto demigods also made some progress in their investigation, discovering that shrines of the three great onryo were desecrated and turned them into malevolent spirits again. they found reasons to believe that the magatama were given to the three great onryo so they could tear the veil that separated the mortal realm and yomi and destabilize the rule of the kami. but the question still remained, who stole the imperial regalia to begin with ?
in another instance of attuning with the threads, waaiz and reid find out that the cabin by the mirrored lake is the home of a siphoner : leeching vitality and power from the spirits dragged back to earth due to the disturbance in the ley lines and those who had opened portals to the underworld, such a levin. electra's spirit now also roamed around the mirrored lake, stuck while being siphoned for her power.
but the spirits were not the only ones affected by the corruption of the ley lines, ancient beasts slumbering on them also began waking up. the demigods fought and defeated the markupo, an ancient serpent. but it wouldn't be the last mythical beast they'd be up against.
the demigods were sent to amalfi coast to save marinus, a demigod son of calypso, and investigate what was going on at the coast. they discover a war brewing between the fishermen and the sirens : allira, the alpha siren, told them that hari, a half-siren, must kill his husband, the captain of the fishermen, to fulfill his destiny. however, the demigods didn't follow allira's plans ────── and the alpha angrily vowed that they would face her again.
after a summer camp for mundane children was massacred, the demigods were sent there to find out what happened as they had reasons to believe that it might be connected to the former unsanctioned greek camp that used to be there. initially suspecting the ghost of pyrrhus, a bullied demigod who drowned, they discover the true killer to be beelzebub, one of pyrrhus’ tormentors. they found evidence of beelzebub's descent to madness : mind twisted by another being and granted with exceptional power that almost killed the demigods in their battle against him.
there are still many questions left unanswered and it is up to our demigods to find answers to them !

The musician Ryuichi Sakamoto, who has died aged 71 of cancer, spent his life as a restless traveller, both personally and musically. “I was born in Japan but I don’t think I’m Japanese,” he said in 1988, two years before he moved to New York. “To be a stranger – I like that attitude. I don’t like nationalities and borders.”
A founder member of Tokyo’s pioneering computer-pop trio Yellow Magic Orchestra, whose work between 1978 and 1984 has proved a lasting influence on hip-hop and electronica, Sakamoto was able to combine his skills as an academically trained musician with an aptitude for electronic music and an ear for countless musical styles. He sustained a lengthy partnership with the British musician David Sylvian after first working with his band Japan on the track Taking Islands in Africa from the album Gentlemen Take Polaroids (1980), following which the duo collaborated on the double A-side Bamboo Houses/Bamboo Music (1982).
In 1983, Sakamoto achieved a peak of commercial visibility by not only writing the soundtrack for Nagisa Oshima’s film Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence, but also co-starring in it (as Captain Yonoi) with David Bowie. The soundtrack, which won him a Bafta for best film music, contained the Sakamoto/Sylvian composition Forbidden Colours, a vocal version of the film’s main theme, which was a Top 20 hit in Britain.
Soundtrack work became one of the main planks of Sakamoto’s career. He won an Academy Award (along with his fellow composers David Byrne and Cong Su) for his soundtrack to Bernardo Bertolucci’s The Last Emperor (1987), in which he also had an acting role, and worked with the director again on The Sheltering Sky (1990) and Little Buddha (1993).
Sakamoto scored the 1990 film version of The Handmaid’s Tale, Pedro Almodóvar’s Tacones Lejanos (High Heels, 1991), and Brian De Palma’s Snake Eyes (1998) and Femme Fatale (2002). Oliver Stone hired him for the soundtrack to his TV series Wild Palms (1993). Alejandro González Iñárritu used some existing Sakamoto recordings in his 2006 film Babel, then recruited him to write the score for his multiple Oscar-winner The Revenant (2015). For the opening of the 1992 Barcelona Olympics he provided El Mar Mediterrani.
Sakamoto released solo albums regularly between 1978 and 2017, many of them reaching the Top 30 in Japan but not registering on charts elsewhere, as well as six live albums and a string of compilations. However, Sakamoto’s subtle, exploratory music earned him a charismatic reputation that drew international guest stars to his projects.
On B-2 Unit (1980), he collaborated closely with Andy Partridge from XTC, and the electrofunk track Riot in Lagos proved inspirational for the likes of Mantronix and Afrikaa Bambaataa. Thomas Dolby featured on the pulsating Field Work from Illustrated Musical Encyclopedia (1986), the track accompanied by an ingeniously conceived video, while for Neo Geo (1987) Sakamoto enlisted Iggy Pop, Bill Laswell, Bootsy Collins and Sly Dunbar.
Brian Wilson and Robbie Robertson appeared on Beauty (1989), an album that spanned rock, technopop, flamenco and classical Japanese music. Heartbeat (1991), on which Sakamoto tried rap, funk and jazz, and lyrics in French, Japanese and Russian, numbered Youssou N’Dour, Arto Lindsay, Bill Frisell, Sylvian and John Cage among its contributors. In 1993, Sakamoto co-produced Aztec Camera’s album Dreamland.
Born in Tokyo, Ryuichi was the only child of Keiko (nee Shimomura), a hat designer, and Kazuki Sakomoto, a literary editor. While attending the same progressive primary school that once taught Yoko Ono, he was already writing music for the piano with their encouragement.
The American presence in postwar Japan introduced new western influences to the country, and Sakamoto was enraptured by the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. He attended Tokyo’s University of the Arts to study music composition, and felt a strong affinity for the compositions of Claude Debussy, in which he discerned an Asian influence. However, in addition he soaked up the work of contemporary composers such as Cage, Pierre Boulez, Györgi Ligeti and Stockhausen, as well as jazz musicians including John Coltrane and Ornette Coleman.
His early compositions were in an avant-garde vein, while he also performed with free jazz bands and played keyboards with the folk singer Masato Tomobe. He graduated with BA and MA degrees, having studied classical and assorted world and ethnic music, and taken his first steps in electronic music by working with Moog and ARP synthesizers.
He formed Yellow Magic Orchestra in 1978 with Haruomi “Harry” Hosono and Yukihiro Takahashi, whom he had met when they worked together as session musicians. Combining electropop with stylish graphics and costume design, the trio brought wit and warmth to the use of electronics, which contrasted with the studied alienation of European counterparts such as Kraftwerk or Gary Numan.
YMO released eight studio albums during their original lifespan, all of them climbing high in the Japanese charts, and three of them reaching No 1. The group inspired Beatlemania-like hysteria in their homeland. “We were very big, that’s why I hated it,” Sakamoto said. “We were always followed by paparazzi.”
YMO’s albums made little chart impact outside Japan, but their influence was nonetheless widely felt, not least in their innovative use of electronic sequencers, drum machines and sampling. Firecracker, from their 1978 debut album, was itself sampled in Afrika Bambaataa’s Death Mix. In 1980 they had a Top 20 hit in the UK with Computer Game (Theme from the Invaders), which chimed with the craze for the Space Invaders game. Behind the Mask, first conceived for a Seiko wristwatch commercial and then included on their album Solid State Survivor (1979), became a Top 20 UK hit for Eric Clapton; a version by Michael Jackson appeared on the posthumous album Michael (2010).
YMO paused their activities in 1984, though the trio continued to collaborate on each other’s solo work, and they reformed to make the album Technodon (1993). They subsequently reunited several times for recording and live performances, their last shows being for the No Nukes 2012 festival in Chiba, Japan, and the 2012 World Happiness festival in Tokyo.
In his teens in the late 1960s, Sakamoto had been a hippy with leftwing political beliefs – “not 100% Marxist, but kind of” – but he gradually became disillusioned with the failure of political movements to effect significant change. He decided that his music was not the place for social or political messages, observing that “I’ve changed from an avant-garde person to a pop person,” though he would subsequently support causes he felt strongly about.
He campaigned for changes to music copyright law, which he considered outmoded in the internet era, and founded Commmons, a collaborative platform to assist aspiring musicians. He formed a group of musicians called NML (No More Landmines), which featured Brian Eno, Sylvian, Kraftwerk and the other members of YMO, and in 2001 they released the single Zero Landmine.
In 2006 he launched the Stop Rokkasho movement by releasing the track Rokkasho (by a group of musicians dubbed Team 6), in protest at the building of Japan’s Rokkasho nuclear fuel reprocessing plant, and he campaigned to have the Hamaoka nuclear plant shut down to avoid a repeat of the 2011 tsunami disaster at the Fukushima facility. He and Byrne teamed up to record the single Psychedelic Afternoon to aid tsunami survivors.
His solo work continued to explore a huge variety of styles. In 1982 he had ventured into medieval and Renaissance music on the album The End of Asia, a collaboration with the Japanese early music group Danceries. Smoochy (1995) was a detour into easy listening, while Discord (1998) comprised an hour-long orchestral composition.
The album 1996 was a selection of Sakamoto pieces arranged for piano trio featuring the Brazilian cellist Jaques Morelenbaum, and Sakomoto reunited with him and his wife, Paula, a singer, for two albums in celebration of the bossa nova composer Antônio Carlos Jobim, Casa (2001) and A Day in New York (2003). In 1999, his multimedia opera, Life, was performed in Tokyo and Osaka.
Meanwhile, he struck up a fruitful collaboration with Alva Noto (a pseudonym of Carston Nicolai), which resulted in a string of electronica albums including Vrioon (2002) and Insen (2005), culminating in Glass (2018). With the Austrian guitarist and composer Christian Fennesz he recorded Sala Santa Cecilia (2005), Cendre (2007) and Flumina (2011).
In 2014 he was diagnosed with throat cancer, but by the following year was feeling “much much better”. His recovery from illness inspired the creation of his last solo album, Async, hailed as one of 2017’s finest forays into experimental electronica. Its making was documented by Stephen Nomura Schible in the film Coda (2018).
His final album, 12, was recorded during hospital stays in 2021 and 2022, and released in January. In December, he livestreamed a solo piano concert from Tokyo.
Sakamoto was first married to Natsuko, then to the musician Akiko Yano; both marriages ended in divorce. He is survived by his third wife and manager, Norika Sora, and their two children; and a daughter from his first marriage and another daughter from his second.

SHIFTING STORY (My First Royalty Shifting For My Ult Bias JoJo🥺)
Note : I just want to share my shifting experience yesterday. And don't read it if you're uncomfortable or it's still minor. I will also use a third person point of view because it's make me more comfortable telling about my latest shifting experience👀. Because I will tell you in detail how my shifting flows (I even had a conversation that I remember)🧎♀️.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
• (My) Family Background
So, my name in my desire reality is 'Shigeta Yua'. Yua is Harua's older sister who is only one year older than him. Yua and Harua were raised in a Japanese noble family, and had a not-too-old-fashioned upbringing. They are allowed to wear modern clothes that today's children like, and are allowed to take part in several youth activities, such as gathering in cafes. They can even pursue careers according to the talents they pursue or like.
Harua and Yua's mother, Mrs Miura Keiko is the chief lady-in-waiting to the Empress Consort, Empress Yuriko. Mrs. Miura and Empress Yuriko have even been friends since they were teenagers, and were both born into Japanese noble families. The only difference is, Mrs. Miura married a rich admiral + noble families too, Shigeta Kenji, while Yuriko married the crown prince of Japan (at that time), Asakura Minato.
Apart from the Miura family which was also close to the Imperial family, the Shigeta family was also close to the Imperial family. Almost all the men in the Shigeta family for hundreds of years played an important role in the royal military, they served the military line of the imperial family very well. Yua and Harua's great-grandfathers were even close friends of the current emperor's grandfather.
• (My) Arranged Marriage
The closeness of the Imperial family to her family meant that Yua had a sharp connection with two of the emperor's sons, especially the Emperor's youngest son, Prince Asakura Jo. Yua and Jo have been friends since they were little, and have always been to the same school.
Of course, both of their mothers knew about this closeness, especially Empress Yuriko. Empress Yuriko wants Yua to be the wife of her youngest son. She told Keiko directly that she wanted Keiko's daughter to be her daughter-in-law when their two children were completely grown up.
Empress Yuriko's request had been conveyed directly to Yua, Kenji of course immediately agreed to this match. Yua? Oh, she had loved Jo since she was little, and without further ado she agreed to this match.
However, Jo's reaction was very different from Yua's, a reaction that made Yua hurt. Jo outright rejected this match and even said he never considered Yua more than a friend. Jo said that he wanted his own choice, not an arranged marriage like this, especially with his best friend. Without realizing that he did love Yua too.
• (My) Relationship Conflicts
After that incident, Yua and Jo really immediately became strangers, with Yua having a wound in her heart. Jo even told her to keep her distance and called her respectfully. Like 'Your Highness' or 'Imperial Highness'.
Yua often saw Jo close to several girls at their school, like a couple. Yua was of course jealous, she felt she should be the one in that position, not another girl. However, Yua couldn't do much, there was no way she would dare to fight Jo and get angry, she was no one to Jo anymore. Yua could only cry, burning with jealousy seeing Jo close to several girls.
Some time after Jo and herself became 'strangers' to each other, Yua actually got to know Yuma, a new kid at her school. Yuma is the son and sole heir of the Nakakita family which is famous in the field of art and making beautiful stone designs. Her closeness to Yuma made Yua quite healed and began to forget her hurt towards Jo. Yuma is also a really good friend to Yua, they often spend time together at school.
And now instead, Jo is actually burning with an extraordinary fire of jealousy when he hears that Yua and Yuma are very close and good friends. At first, he tried to look fine and not care about it, but all that indifference was in vain. Jo realizes that he really loves Yua, but realizes it too late. He's just annoyed that his parents set him up without his consent with Yua. Saying that he wants his own choice. But his own choice turned out to be Yua, his childhood friend who he 'abandoned' because of his stupid behavior.
The closer Yua and Yuma got, the more Jo burned. Until finally he lost his patience...
• Cooling (?)
Jo's patience disappeared right on Yua's 19th birthday. Yua's birthday was during their school days, and Yua attended extra classes at that time (Damn, I actually remember, me and Jo shouting at each other violently when the school was almost empty)💀.
When her extra class finished, Yua wanted to go to his row of lockers which of course was very quiet. Because no one went to the locker room before going home besides her.
However, while she was taking her jacket from her locker, Yua was surprised by Jo who was standing behind her. And that's where the 'fight' and arguments occurred, Yua (me) and Jo insulted each other, even though the insults were because of each other's jealousy.
And it all ended with Jo kissing Yua roughly, Yua was carried away by what Jo was doing to her. Yeah, they made love (GOTTA GO BACK TO THAT FUCKING DESIRE REALITY RN!💀I'M SO FUCKING CLENCHING RN😃). What I like the most is when Jo brings Yua (me) to a table, making Yua straddle the table, creating a new position🌚. Yua could see Jo looking at her with lustful eyes while hitting her sweet spot. Yua could also see how handsome Jo was, he was still wearing the Gakuran, because Yua and Jo weren't completely naked.
The peak of heat was when Jo cum inside Yua, making (my) her head want to explode at the sensation🌚. Yeah, being fucked by a Prince named Asakura Jo, who would refuse?😮💨.
Bro, after he was satisfied making love with Yua, he said that 'Yua is his', not anyone else's. You know what he said after they got dressed, he approached Yua, his hand dug into Yua flat stomach, touched it then said: "Let this grow inside you, if necessary we will get married tomorrow," 🧎♀️🧎♀️🧎♀️🧎♀️ (I WISH IT WAS REAL, NOT BECAUSE I'M SHIFTING! JOJO I'M GONNA BACK BABE!)
@crimsonskvader sent : "Sir, can we get Emperor Keiko a staff badge?"
Keigo sighs overdramatically, and rolls his eyes playfully. "If I get her a badge, will you actually start working out? Without faking it?"
well I gotta throw b7 back at you but since you asked for rarepairs....ezri/leeta and kira/keiko
B7
I'm so sad I couldn't get bingo on this one, holy shit.
This is the ship that makes me insane par excellence. So near and yet so far. Two people so similar that they can't help but get angry with each other. This close to murder (for Trek standards) and yet having deep respect for each other's abilities. Frustration central and reluctant recognition through the other. They live in each other's head so much and they both kind of hate it, because ignoring each other is impossible. And they're my favorite characters on the show. Could not ask for anything more delicious to sink my teeth in!!
'Compatible' might be pushing it a little here but I think they truly would be, in any scenario slightly to the left of of canon. I've written extensively about them carving their own space away from the rigid structure of the crew and that allowing them to see one another for who they really are.
I haven't made B7 truly fucked up YET, but oooh I have ideas, the potential is definitely there to make things so much worse between them. It's just that the way Seven and B'Elanna interact on the show also gives me a lot of inspiration for shenanigans, so I've definitely made it stupid lol
This is also the only ship I currently keep track of on AO3 so you know I'm in it really, really deep.
Ezri/Leeta
I went with the mirror version because it's the version of these characters I ship the most. Basically my thoughts are: please tell me everything about that interrogation/debriefing post-“The Emperor's New Cloak”, that must've been fun alright.
If I were a better writer I would come up with an insane longfic in which they're together but they keep double-crossing each other, with this weird push and pull of not-quite-trust and fucked up mirror universe twists.
Kira/Keiko
My take on this ship is... maybe controversial because I don't care for them to be in a throuple with Miles (whoops), and despite the general sweet rapport they have in canon, especially once the pregnancy gets transferred to Kira, I would love for them to have the kind of relationship where they get into heated disagreements all the time lol. Remember how they were on essentially opposites sides in “In the Hands of the Prophets” way back on season 1? That, but like all the time now that Kira lives together with Keiko, on anything ranging from Keiko's opinion on the development of Bajor's flora to Kira's somewhat dogmatic approach to religion. Of course they've both gone through a lot of changes since S1 (neither are so defensive anymore because they're both more secure in their respective jobs & roles on the station) and they're both more willing to arrive to an understanding (and maybe make out about it). But they're both opinionated women and I would like to see that in a relationship between them.
[here are the other ship bingo meme entries]
Alrighty, rolling up to the ask box drive-thru: can I get a number 2, 9, and a number 13 please and thanks.
Here's the post so you don't have to go hunting for it XD: https://www.tumblr.com/wickermayne/705360299468963840/get-to-know-my-shipping-preferences-ships?source=share
Fyi, I was hungry af when I wrote this, lol, wonder if you can tell. Might've sipped too much on the screwdriver but hey 😂gotta live a little right?
I'll hush now 😂
Thanks for the ask Sessakag 🥰
2. List 3 shipping tropes you don’t love
Unrequited Love/Unhappy ending. I can't stand unhappy endings 😭 I'm not shipping to have my feelings hurt!
Body Swap: I just find this one a bit icky (although I love Your Name...😅) but normally I'm not into using body swap as a shipping trope.
Love Triangles: I don't even like triads much, but that's much more preferable to love triangle for me. I like drama in a relationship, but only when it's between the two main characters. The third wheeler can piss off 😂.
9. Do you always have romantic ships for fandoms?
I would say more often than not, yes I do, but it really depends on the fandom and how involved I'm in it. Also, I might have an inkling of a feeling like "Oh, they would be good together" but not really care if there is romance in the source material at all. Naruto and Harry Potter (and a little bit of Bleach) are the only fandoms I searched fanfics and fanart of ships for, as an example. But, yeah, I'd say it's pretty natural for me to form some sort of ship when I get into a fandom.
13. List 5 OTPs from past fandoms
Other than Naruto and HP it's a bit hard, but here's what I can think of! Not listed in any order, and I tried to use one ship from a franchise.
Alphonse Elric/Winry Rockbell (Fullmetal Alchemist)
Alphonse was always my favourite character from the series, and even though the Ed/Win ship was so obvious from the beginning, I liked this one better, probably because I always loved Alphonse and liked Winry more than Mei. Also in the non-canon movie Emperor of Shambala, they have a good about of interactions without Ed around so that always reinforced the ship for me.
2. Kumiko Yamaguchi/Shin Sawada (Gokusen)
Gokusen is my all time favourite manga and this is the canon ship in it (although it's not a romance fic and it all happens near the end/in the epilogue/special chapters). Kumiko is the grand daughter of a Yakuza boss and decides to become a high school teacher, and Shin is her surly student. Shin is always supporting her when she needs help the most and even though the romance isn't really a focus of the manga, what's there is great.
3. Byakuya Kuchiki/Yoruichi Shihouin (Bleach)
I never thought about this pairing until Turn Back the Pendulum, but seeing such a petulant version of Byakuya and how Yoruichi knows just how to rile him up made me instantly like the idea of this.
4. Zuko/Katara (Avatar the Last Air Bender)
Zuko is my favourite character from the series, loved his growth, and I also liked how bull-headed and stubborn Katara could be at times. Just thought they fit well together.
5. Yusuke Urameshi/Keiko Yukimura (Yu Yu Hakusho)
I can't think of anything to say, it's been a long time since I've seen the series, but I love them all them same!
Thanks again for the ask Sessakag!
Kumaso no Ana cave in the mountains of Kirishima, (Kagoshima Prefecture) was home to an ancient tribe of people called the Kumaso. Sometime around 100 AD, while these people were living in southern Kyushu, they neglected to send the rice tribute to Emperor Keiko, who was living in modern-day Nara Prefecture (Yamato). Whether it was because they couldn't grow enough or because the trip to deliver it was too arduous, it didn't happen and the disgraced emperor sent his son, Ousu, to get revenge. When Ousu arrived, 55 tribes of southern Kyushu were meeting in this cave and having a banquet, so he decided to dress up like a woman and lure their leader, Kawakami Takeru, to a private cavern. That he did and, in private, Ousu stabbed him and told him who he was. When the tribal leaders rushed in to attack Ousu, Kawakami told them to not attack, that it was righteous for him to come kill him, and to make sure that he returns safely to his father. He also gave Ousu his name (he became Yamato Takeru)and, as he was dying, proclaimed that the Kumaso tribe was dissolved. Only part of the cave is accessible after a rockfall nowadays and the inside was painted in 1990 by Sakurajima artist Hagihara Sadayuki. Modern-day Kumamoto Prefecture is also named after this tribe. #鹿児島 #古代 #日本 #九州 #歴史 #霧島 #山 #洞窟 #風穴 #熊蘇の穴 #kagoshima #kagofan #kumaso #japan #japantravel #ancient #japanese #tribe #kirishima #cave #熊襲の穴 #アート #ヤマトタケル #art #kyushu #visitjapan #dondonkagoshima (at 熊襲の穴) https://www.instagram.com/p/CpNboI3J1sP/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
