You Are the One
There’s always one more burn. How can I keep going?
So, I categorize this video in different "acts."
Act One — The Invasion of Wayrest
King Barynia was a paranoid man. When he feared that politicians were planning on overthrowing him, he opened the ports to allow the Corsairs to enter.
The Forgotten Hero came to him amidst the invasion and, after a battle, spared his life. King Barynia was to leave Wayrest in the hands of his eldest daughter, Princess Barynia. He left with the Corsairs, however, some stayed behind, taking over the throne. They held Queen Aurelia and Princess Aloisa captive. Princess Barynia had escaped with loyal guards.
The Corsairs killed Queen Aurelia when she stood against them and tried to protect her daughter.
Act Two — Daggerfall
The Daggerfall Kingdom bargained with the Corsairs for the Princess Aloisa when she was thirteen years old. They had initially tried to buy Queen Aurelia from them, as she had been a more desirable candidate due to her superior magicka abilities and her status as the Queen. Unfortunately, things didn't turn out that way and they had to settle for Princess Aloisa.
Xia thought she was safe when she first arrived in Daggerfall, but then she met the King and Queen and the prince who would be her husband. The King and Queen were extremely war-oriented, hoping to conquer as many neighboring kingdoms as they possibly could. Their son was cruel and spoiled. Xia did not want to marry the prince, who was a good bit older than she was, and she did not want to be there. It didn't matter, however, as they locked her in one of their towers and she remained a stranger in their home.
On the eve of her sixteenth birthday, just prior to her wedding, Xia faked her own death. She came up with the plan after befriending the castle's alchemist. He gave her a potion that mimicked death and, after the very quick funeral, he helped her flee the province of High Rock. What happened to the princess? Well, you could say he "killed" her (okay, I kind of wish I had a voice-over that had just said that she had died, BUT this was a good alternative and it's true, he kind of killed her. He fake killed her lol).
Act Three — The Dragonborn
After fleeing High Rock, Xia managed to befriend another alchemist. She was an older woman from Cyrodiil who took her in. By this point, Xia had taken on the name "Xia Silver-Wing." She mentored under this woman until one day, along the Cyrodiil and Skyrim border, she was "kidnapped" by Imperials and sentenced to death.
Saved by Alduin's return, Xia would come to find out that she was the fated Dragonborn. She trained under Paarthurnax, befriended other dragons, and soon came to feel more of a connection to dragons than to humans. As she traveled the province and saw the world for what it was, she became jaded in her perspective. Humans were the problem to her, not dragons. She was caught somewhere in between.
Act Four — The Dark Brotherhood
As she started to question her role as a hero and question the state of the world, Xia got sucked into the world of the Dark Brotherhood. They became a family to her. She thought of them as the best thing to have happened to her yet, even if she was self-aware of her spiral into becoming a "monster" (in her own words).
Becoming the Listener came as a shock, but she took the role with pride. This was her family after all, and she wanted to contribute as much as she possibly could. After all, she had finally found a home.
It all came crashing down, however, when Astrid betrayed her and the Dark Brotherhood. She will never forgive the woman for what she did, but she still mourned her all the same. Xia helped rebuild the Dark Brotherhood in Dawnstar and there they continue to operate.
Conclusion —
Xia's life has been somewhat of a rollercoaster. She has gone through a lot and it has taken its toll on her, whether she'd ever admit to it or not. As time went on, as she changed, she decided that she was no hero. She had become something that she felt she could no longer come back from. She had become something that she felt her mother would despise. Was her mother's sacrifice really worth it? Heroes died, and for what? Monsters to survive? She's become very jaded in that regard.
