My first of many Emily Prentiss appreciation posts

I absolutely love that exchange with Emily, JJ, and Hotch during Revelations. Where JJ's like "how does none of this get to you, you came in off a desk job" and Emily says something like "I guess I just compartmentalize better than most people" AS IF SHE WASNT A FUCKING SPY.

I imagine they (writers) hadn't decided on Lauren yet considering this is s2 and that arc is s6, but I fucking love this going back and watching having seen the whole show. Imagining Emily scrambling to find a reasonable answer that isn't "oh yeah I'm a highly trained international spy no big deal" because there's no way she can just say that, but she all she can come up with is "compartmentalization" I love it. I love her.

The Lauren arc is by far my favorite, and I think the best done in the show with Foyet being the second most well done. Even if they weren't doing any foreshadowing in Revelations I think it adds so much depth to Emily's character that you wont see until 4 seasons later. Unintentional or not it's one of my favorite scenes.

Do you guys ever think about the fact that Emily “I guess I just compartmentalize better than most people” Prentiss and Tara “I just feel like I can’t understand others’ emotions unless I deal with my own” Lewis managed to find each other and fall in love and be the perfect couple?
