MARRIAGE
Article 95. Whatever may be lost during the marriage in any game of chance, betting, sweepstakes, or any other kind of gambling, whether permitted or prohibited by law, shall be borne by the loser and shall not be charged to the community but any winnings therefrom shall form part of the community property. (164a)
Soichi vs. Gozon, et, al., G.R. No. 169900
FACTS:
Elvira Gozon filed a case of LEGAL SEPARATION against her husband Alfredo. Later, she filed a notice of lis pendens (a public notice informing the community that a particular property is subject to litigation and that will prospective purchasers of the property will be bound by any judgment affecting it)
A 30,000 sqm. parcel of land situated in Malabon is registered in the name of “Alfredo Gozon, married to Elvira Gozon.”
Then, while the pending case of Legal Separation of both parties, Alfredo and Mario entered into Agreement of Buy and Sell involving their conjugal property for the price of 18 million pesos. Mario pays the partial payment of 5M of the said price and he took the possession of the property.
With an agreement that Alfredo as the exclusive owner of the property, will secure the exclusion of the property in the LSEP case and secure the removal of notice of lis pendens.
When the Court granted the legal separation of Elvira and Mario, their property was dissolved and liquidated. Being the offending spouse, Alfredo is deprived of his share in the net profits and the same is awarded to their child Winifred R. Gozon whose custody is awarded to Elvira.
Alfredo later donated the land to Winifred. Through SPA, Alfredo sold the land to Inter-Dimensional Realty for 18M wherein the latter obtained the TCT in their name free from annotation of the notice of lis pendens. Mario Siochi then filed a case for specific performance, damages and the annulment of the donation and sale.
The CA decided that sale between Mario and Alfredo is void. Share of Alfredo (offending spouse) was forfeited in favor of his daughter Winifred. Alfredo must pay the 5m DP to Mario with damages.
ISSUE:
WON Alfredo’s as offending spouse, the entire share of said conjugal property shall be deemed forfeited as effect of the Legal Separation case.
HELD:
No. As provided under Art 63 (2) of Family Code— “The decree of legal separation shall have the ff effects:
(2) the absolute community or the conjugal partnership shall be dissolved and liquidated but the offending spouse shall have no right to any share of the NET PROFITS earned by the absolute community or the conjugal partnership, which shall be forfeited in favor of common children , or if there are none, to the children of the guilty spouse in previous marriage, if there are none, to the innocent spouse.
Pursuant to this Article, Alfredo’s share of the conjugal property is not entirely forfeited in favor of their common child, but only his share of the NET PROFITS earned from said conjugal property.

I wasn’t gonna put off the finale because I knew spoilers were gonna jump at me from every hole the longer I wait, so I put my life on hold and watched The Shadow War!~
-THE ECLIPSE IS APPROACHING
-It almost sounds like Webby invited herself to come live with them:D. This wouldn’t feel out of place at all in the regular comics because family either gathers at Grandma’s house, or Donald’s house. Use this information any way you want
-That moment of goopy shadow pouring out of Lena's eyes and mouth was sick
-Whoa, back the goop went the way it came. Loving that animation
-"[…]because the boys blame you for launching their mom into space and orphaning them. I'm here to take you out for ice cream!" ADHKSFKSLDSFJKL Launchpad omL
-Glad to see Magica's still a dramatic, accident-prone dork in this series as well
-She was so disappointed seeing Scrooge look so bad. She had such high standards for him – she wants to defeat 'the greatest adventurer of all time', not this…mess
-The kids are throwing away every memory they ever made with Scrooge, and Donald feels bad about it. I like this little way of expressing the differences in how children vs adults cope with situations like this. Donald's at a point and age where he knows this is pointless and fixes nothing
-I really wanna know why Cape Suzette is the place to move to. Is this like how people from small towns usually try to move into the big cities? But Duckburg is in no way a small town
-I love how optimistic Webby and Launchpad are being. These plans never work
-Scrooge apparently shoves down food non-stop when depressed to keep it stifled down at the very bottom of his heart
-"That sad sack of feathers is not Scrooge." She's so disappointed, and a bit disgusted
-After all the adventures they've been on, it's no wonder Cape Suzette doesn't sound exciting anymore
-Is Donald gonna let Dewey stir the boat? C'moooon, let him! He's all dressed up for it!
-This:
-"Bless me bagpipes. Good day." She's been trapped in a talisman for God knows how long and she still remembers the bagpipesXD. Plus dang, she got voice mimicking game!
-How on earth is Scrooge not hearing her talking tho. She's right there
-Magica leave him alone, let him rant
-The intensity of hurt and betrayal emanating from him is striking. Kudos to the writing and the great voice acting. How can you love and resent someone so much and convey both emotions in the same sentence
-Did you notice that Donald's walls are full of photos and portraits of his boys
-Webby's s invested in getting this family back together again, and she's obviously forgiven Scrooge because getting her adopted family back together again is more important than holding on to hurt feelings
-*clutches chest*
-Damn right, everybody loves Donald
-Beakley: "I WANT IN."
-Cue Launchpad, Webby and Beakley:
-Oh no she didn't -!
-MAGICA AIN'T HAVING NO LOSER FOR A SWORN ENEMY, DAMMIT, SHE'LL BITCHSLAP SOME FIGHT INTO HIM BEFORE THE ECLIPSE IS COMPLETE OR HER NAME AIN'T MAGICA DE SPELL. SHE DIDN’T WAIT AN ETERNITY TO COME EXTRACT HER VENGEANCE IN A PIGSTIE
-It’s completely unimportant but Scrooge’s hat looks very rubbery and stops at an odd angle in the last frame of the above gif
-I would watch a whole season – 25 episodes and more – of Scrooge having anime fights like this
-Wait, I'm not sure I understand! Does the dime double as a seal for Magica??!
-She. Has. A. Winged. Cape
-The soundtrack is great
-"The foulest lineage." I really wanna learn more about this statement
-I want Beakley and Grandma to battle to have a cooking competition
-Beakley's an adult, and she's trying to indirectly explain to the children that they shouldn't let their anger and grief get in the way of realizing that not everything has to be somebody's fault. Mistakes and tragedies happen
-He really was going bankrupt. Gosh
-YES! THE DIME IS A SEAL!
-In hindsight, it’s freaking creepy that Scrooge - on some level - had Magica’s face squished against his chest all these years
-Listen and repeat after me: Donald Duck is the hero of this season and a role model
-I swear, if it's not made apparent in a future episode how much Donald takes after Elvira when it comes to family I'll riot
-Another 5 years added to lifespan
-Gladstone finds another twenty dollars
-Hold:
-Shadow!GizmoDuck!
-Manny is a hyper competent intern
-The Barksian Modulator. Not only is it a funny reference, but fitting because in the comics, Donald does have a normal voice
-Our sailor boy is re-embracing his adventurous identity and he is a badass
-Having a normal clear voice definitely boosts his confidence. Headcanon or canon?
-Make way for the next Duck-Coot family patriarch
-"No seriously, have you been saying things like that this whole time?" XXD
-This complete dork wrote down her vengeance monologue on powerpoint notes so she wouldn't trip up or stutter
-"Whoever defeats the most shadows will earn the most elusive prize of all…my respect." The diva-ness is amped up with every appearance of his
-Adorable DWD funko pop makes a comeback
-I nearly spat out my tea when they walked into Lena's room! Hold on while I pause to see the photos on the wall!? Are these celebrity posters or family members??
-Nope, they're just posters
-Wait wait WAIT..Where does Lena actually come from? Did she come to exist only after Magica was sealed?! She's a physical shadow?!
-Callback to the Great Dime Chase endless stairs
-"Blink once if this guy's a good friend, twice if he's just a work acquaintance." *blinks twice* "Aww.." This is the first time Gyro gets burned in this series
-Donald got the confidence and badassery he deserves and I can't be happier
-Fans have been waiting for the kids to see Donald be the bold adventurer he used to be, and now they get to see it. Also, Donald being physically very strong despite his small size carried over into the series and it's great
-Plus
-Launchpad's song
-Louie can swim in his uncle's moneys now
-Magica's very superstitious! Perfect..you know who else is superstitious? *coughacertainlayaboutcough* :3c
-BABY GIRL IS FURIOUS AND HAS MOVES. She’s been so hurt in these two episodes
-Scrooge is silently screaming inside the dime..
-"Lena couldn't be your friend because she was never real!" oh no byotch you did not
-Ok so we get several answers now after this revelation. One of them being: no, Lena is not Poe's daughter
-I understand why Shadow!GizmoDuck was a plot device in this episode, but I gotta admit I was disappointed he wasn’t a bigger threat
-How was the spell broken? I’m not entirely sure
-All Scrooge needed was his family to regain his energy and life
-Oh my God, Magica's cringiest, most embarrassing 'withdrawal' everXD
-Lena's attached herself to Webby!
-"Huey, Louie, the Third One.." :'0 :'0 :'0
-Confirmed, only Louie's learned how to swim in money
-I…
-..…….
-……………………..
-*drops dead*

Piri’s Ultimate List Of Horror Recs (2017 Version)
my go-to compilation of ever single horror/horror-related media i’ve ever enjoyed, including slashers, paranormal, thrillers, creature features, and much, much more 🎃
note: this list has trigger warnings but i am operating under the assumption that you are okay with the standard level of explicit sexuality, vulgarity, violence, and gore present in mainstream horror
horror
original nightmare on elm street series, but especially 1, 3, 4, 6, and freddy vs. jason (tw for implied pedophilia and explicit child murder, tw for rape in #6)
friday the 13th (original and remake)
honestly all the friday the 13th sequels are A Treasure but if you want The Core Canon watch 1-3
my bloody valentine (original)
psycho (original) and tbh all its sequels (tw for sort-of-kind-of incest vibes)
psycho ii and psycho iv are my favorites because (1) meg tilly is adorable in psycho ii and (2) psycho iv has a harley quinn/norman bates cameo and nobody can convince me otherwise
child’s play, child’s play 2, bride of chucky, maybe some sequels after that idk i haven’t seen them yet :(
scream franchise
not the mtv scream series
i mean s1 is decent but there are definitely other horror shows that i would recommend more (will show up later in this post)
1-3 are the best, 4 is worth watching if you really like the characters but as a concept the series has p much run its course by then
tw for rape mentions in scream 1 and 3
predator
peeping tom
kenneth branagh’s frankenstein (tw for a graphic depiction of death in childbirth)
james whale’s frankenstein
bride of frankenstein
the phantom of the opera (1925)
the phantom of the opera (1989) (tw for mild body/surgical horror, general grossness; personally speaking, this is one of my all-time favorite phantom adaptations, because 1. robert englund as the phantom hello oh my god, 2. although it’s much more of a slasher movie than a gothic romance, it does an amazing job of portraying the tragedy in erik’s backstory and his attraction to christine, without implying that he is entitled to christine’s affection and that her love will magically fix him, as some phantom adaptations do)
the phantom of the opera (1943)
alien franchise
the wolfman (2010)
darling (tw for rape)
house on haunted hill (original and remake)
final destination franchise
medium raw: night of the wolf (tw for pedophilia and child murder)
the babadook
the final girls [horror comedy]
the shining (tw for implied child abuse)
the cabin in the woods
hellraiser (tw for incest-y vibes for very brief periods of time)
heathers (tw for eating disorders, suicide, everything high school kids are insensitive assholes about)
from dusk til dawn
an american werewolf in london
the guest
it follows (tw for dubious consent)
nightwatch (tw for implied necrophilia/descriptions of necrophilia, self-mutilation)
re-animator (tw for rape, pedophilia mentions)
carrie (original) (tw for child abuse, religious iconography)
the remake had some interesting like... subtext/imagery but other than that it was pretty *wet fart noise*
the awakening
the craft
the blair witch project
honestly i loved the book of shadows: blair witch 2 bc it kind of parallels the crucible but i can admit that objectively it is Terrible
elvira, mistress of the dark [spooky comedy]*
american mary (tw for rape, (consensual surgical) genital mutilation)
fright night (original and remake)
jaws
listen. this is a horror movie. it was a horror book before that. it was specifically written and later adapted for the purpose of scaring and entertaining people. real life is nothing like this. real sharks are nothing like this. there’s nothing wrong with this movie scaring you but there is everything wrong with using this movie as an excuse to advocate for the wholesale slaughter of animals. sharks are quite possibly the most graceful and beautiful creatures on this earth and i will personally fight anyone who says otherwise
halloween franchise
1-5 are the best imo but no matter what skip #3 because it literally has nothing to do with any of the other movies
not the rob zombie remakes, those are awful
let the right one in [swedish (?) film, watch with subtitles]
rosemary’s baby (original)
night of the living dead (original)
28 days later
suspiria
silent hill (tw for child molestation)
crimson peak (tw for incest)
the lost boys
interview with the vampire
the ring
one missed call
the raven (2012)
repo! the genetic opera
teeth (tw for rape, incest, it’s??????? about a girl who literally has razor-sharp teeth in her vagina and it’s a very tongue-in-cheek commentary on religious repression???? so idk like it’s a wild ride and i love it but watch at your own discretion)
american psycho (tw for rape, general misogyny)
sweeney todd
speaking from experience, this is much better live, the movie sucked out all the fun and humor that wasn’t literally written into the lyrics, so i recommend watching the original broadway cast on youtube or something
there’s also a 1936 movie which i haven’t seen so i can’t speak to its quality BUT i would recommend it on the basis of it being made before the musical was created and thus being based more directly on “the string of pearls” novel which is where the sweeney todd urban legend was originally documented
abott and costello meet [insert universal horror monster here] [spooky comedy]
little shop of horrors (original and remake) [spooky comedy]
the last man on earth (1964)
adapted from the same book i am legend (2007) was adapted from but the last man on earth stays much closer to the original book imo
c. h. u. d.
ghostbusters (1984 and 2016 versions)*
ghost ship
sick girl (tw for bugs, pregnancy horror)
misery (tw for torture)
puppet master series (tw for rape, nazism)
the haunting in connecticut
zombieland**
jurassic park series
lizzie borden took an axe
wolf creek (tw for rape)
it (1990, 2017)
i have........ some nitpicky issues about putting it on this list, because neither movie adaptation really did justice to the whole concept of “derry itself is an extension of an eldritch horror and the real scary part of the story isn’t the clown, it’s the horrible violent tragedies that have repeatedly occurred and then been dismissed throughout derry’s history, leaving the entire town in a large-scale sort of cycle of abuse” so ????????????? idk like i truly do recommend reading the book as well as seeing the movies for The Whole It Experience(TM), but i totally get that not everyone is gonna do that
the 1990 version tells more or less the complete story, but because of that it didn’t have time to include a lot of fun details
the 2017 version only tells the childhood portion of the story, which leaves it time to include fun details. i was really hoping to see more of derry’s backstory or more development on mike and stan as members of marginalized groups -> how that influences their life in derry, but we didn’t get much of that? mike’s importance to the losers (researcher, somewhat of a skeptic/hardass at times to keep the others together) was removed, his healthy family dynamic was removed (mike, richie, and possibly stan are the only characters in the book with healthy family dynamics, somewhat underscoring the concept that derry itself is trapped in a cycle of abuse), and derry’s history of racism is never touched on aside from the kids mentioning “the fire at the black spot” a couple times in passing. overall it was a fun movie and you can tell everyone making it had a blast but compared to the book it’s like. mmmmmmmmmmmmm
BASICALLY what i’m saying here is that the book is really deep wrt social issues, and while neither movie really touches on those concepts in-depth, they are still good horror movies on their own and ofc a part of american pop culture
house of wax (1953)
marnie (tw for rape, abuse and coercion in a marriage dynamic, animal/pet death, graphic depictions of psychological abuse, graphic depiction of a violent death involving a child)
cabin fever (tw for sickness horror/body function horror/unsanitary horror, occasional slurs)
mega shark vs. giant octopus
i don’t even have a real reason for listing this i just can’t believe it exists and i want the whole world to know
texas chainsaw massacre (1974), texas chainsaw massacre 2, texas chainsaw 3d
ju-on: the grudge
phantoms
the plot is pretty ehhh imo but the effects are great; rose mcgowan is gorgeous as always, peter o’toole’s character is great, and ben affleck’s character lowkey has some batman circa arkham knight vibes going on. also, liev schrieber becomes a tentacle monster. i couldn’t make this shit up if i tried y’all
vamps*
this movie. this movie
krysten ritter and alicia silverstone are a couple of vampires, sigourney weaver is their hot mess of a vampire mom, dan stevens is krysten ritter’s boyfriend, wallace shawn is van helsing but he’s basically just vizzini: vampire hunter au and it’s GOLD
it’s literally the cutest and funniest vampire media i’ve ever seen in my life as well as one of the most detailed when it comes to vampire lore i cannot recommend it enough
bram stoker’s dracula
death becomes her**
what we do in the shadows**
disturbia
frankenstein (2004 miniseries, more like a 2-part movie than a tv show)
flatliners (1990) (tw for drug use, uncensored depictions of cadaver dissection)
the cabinet of dr. caligari
the limehouse golem (tw for sexual assault and csa)
repulsion (tw for sexual assault)
the trial (1962)
*spooky comedy: a comedy movie with a spooky premise that i am categorizing with horror movies due to the genre overlap, but that lacks the intense violence, gore, etc. of a horror movie
**horror comedy: a spooky comedy that does not lower the level of violence, gore, etc. that is standard in a horror movie
thrillers
stoker (tw for incest, has a scene in which the protag’s mother verbally abuses her)
m [german film, watch with subtitles] (tw for themes of pedophilia/child molestation/child murder, but it’s worth noting that the whole point of the movie is to condemn and demonize pedophilia)
also one of if not the very first detective movies
nightcrawler (tw for rape)
the vvitch/the witch/however the fuck it’s spelled
rear window (1954)
zodiac
hannibal lecter franchise (tw for cannibalism, obviously)-- the silence of the lambs, hannibal, red dragon, manhunter
manhunter is adapted from the same book red dragon is (red dragon) except manhunter was made before anthony hopkins became The Iconic Hannibal Lecter(TM) so it focuses much more on will graham and francis dolarhyde
hannibal rising is worth watching for gaspard ulliel’s performance but the book was much better
the hannibal movie adaptation changed the ending of the hannibal book while still maintaining a really good and really compelling storyline so the book and movie are definitely both highly recommended by me
gone girl
shutter island (tw for asylum horror)
pan’s labyrinth
tiger house
the champagne murders
the plot and pacing are a little ehhh; in my opinion there was too much tension buildup between characters and not enough actual plot development. BUT, anthony perkins is in it so it’s worth watching if you love him like i do
documentaries
cropsey (documentary on child murders)
urban legends (another documentary, by the same people, talks about how real-life crime affects the american psyche and lives on as urban legends/horror tropes)
the poisoner’s handbook
h. h. holmes
nightmares in red, white, and blue
his name was jason
never sleep again: the elm street legacy
american ripper [currently ongoing tv series]
television/youtube
bates motel
ahs s1 (tw for... literally everything)
slasher
similar basic premise as ahs, but imo ahs is v exploitative and builds the plot on violence and vice, whereas slasher builds the violence and vice on the plot
supernatural (LISTEN........ LISTEN....................... conceptually it’s the bees knees okay)
penny dreadful (tw for constant explicit sexuality, religious iconography/sacrilege, asylum horror)
criminal minds
bbc broadchurch
bbc river
bbc sherlock but literally only ep. 3.4 “the abominable bride”
rosemary’s baby (2-part made-for-tv movie)
unedited footage of a bear
marblehornets
true detective
frankenstein (2004 miniseries, more like a 2-part movie than a tv show)
tbs’ search party
podcasts
the black tapes podcast
small town horror
alice isn’t dead
king falls am [spooky comedy, more sci-fi than horror but there is One Episode that positively screams “love letter to 80s horror movies” so i can’t leave it out with good conscience]
limetown
welcome to night vale [spooky comedy]
the dark tome
video games
until dawn
outlast series
five nights at freddy’s
dead by daylight
bioshock

Here’s What Putting $10,000 in These Assets Would Have Returned in 2019
(Bloomberg) –In 2018, seemingly every asset class was a loser. In 2019 it’s been the reverse, with opportunities abounding — and some of the biggest winners have come from unexpected corners of the market.
This year featured geopolitical flare-ups like escalation in the U.S.-China trade war and the U.K.’s Brexit drama, but markets were buoyed by factors like a dovish turn from central banks including the Federal Reserve. Add it all together and there was surprising market resilience despite periodic barrages of negative headlines.
“It’s been sort of fun trading this,” said Stephen Innes, chief Asia market strategist at AxiTrader Ltd. “Overall the trend has been up” and “just playing the reversions on all these massive hiccups has been very fruitful on virtually every cross asset right across the board. It’s been a good year on a number of fronts for everybody.”
While most of the industry’s attention has been on the records in U.S. stocks and global equity benchmarks, there have been notable moves in other corners of the market this year as well. Here’s a look at a few of the biggest standouts.
Russian Revolution In a year where the U.S. imposed several rounds of fresh sanctions on Russia and Moscow was rocked by seven weeks of protests, the country’s equity market has performed best globally on a total-return basis in dollar terms, and its currency is the second-best worldwide. Stable oil prices have allowed Elvira Nabiullina, governor of the Central Bank of Russia, to cut rates five times. That helped with the rebound from a sell-off in 2018 some saw as excessive.
Restoring Russian Greatness Despite the political headwinds, Russian companies “are, generally speaking, in great shape,” said Fraser Lundie, head of credit at Hermes Investment Management. For many of them, such as commodity producers that have benefited from stability in oil and foreign-exchange markets, “things have rarely been better,” he said.
Greece Lightning Vying with Russia for the year’s best equity market performance is Greece, which started a turbulent decade with a financial crisis and an International Monetary Fund bailout — and now ends it with a stunning rally for both stocks and bonds.
Out of the Recovery Ward Reforms in the country have started to pay off and the far-left Syriza party was ousted by the center-right New Democracy in an election in July. Easy money from the European Central Bank helped, allowing the country to borrow at negative interest rates during October, and its 10-year government bond saw the biggest rally year-to-date among 19 major markets tracked by Bloomberg News.
Ukraine’s Moment The world’s best-performing currency this year out of more than 130 tracked by Bloomberg? It’s the Ukrainian hryvnia, which saw a largely uninterrupted period of stable appreciation in 2019. That marked a break with three years of price swings of around 10%, which followed a collapse in the currency after the Russian invasion of Crimea and as separatists fought in the eastern part of the country. A package of market-friendly reforms as part of an IMF program has allowed the central bank to slash interest rates, helping to boost economic growth. The market value of the country’s currency rose faster than all others this year.
Beyond Beyond Meat In a bad year for start-ups, stocks tied to the fake meat craze stood out — particularly vegan food producer Beyond Meat Inc. But it also generated a boom in Chinese companies looking to cash in on the momentum — with such frenzied buying around stocks tenuously linked to the trend that the Shenzhen stock exchange started to ask questions about producers of real meat, not the ersatz stuff.
No Animals Were Harmed Making This Chart One company, YanTai Shuangta Food Co., generated a total return of 175% — and its fake-meat offerings are so far limited. That puts it within range of the 209% return for Beyond Meat, which during the summer soared to almost 10 times its listing price of $25.
Palladium Hits a Record Palladium prices shot up about 51% and surpassed $2,000, making it the year’s best-performing precious metal.
“Palladium is a clear-cut situation of limited supply meeting increased demand from an automobile industry having to produce better and more environmentally friendly engines,” said Ole Hansen, head of commodity strategy at Saxo Bank A/S. “With the main demand coming from this sector the price can potentially go much higher if supply remains tight.”
