Khione@Elsie: Professor, I'm curious about what you know about taurs, nagas, and hybrids and such. I'm sure at a certain level something with them had to do with human intervention or experiments, but I've gotten a lot of different answers when I asked. What have you studied, if anything, about human history in meddling with Pokemon DNA?

Elsie: Hybrids come about quite naturally, when two different species produce a child. They’ve been around forever. Humans were breeding Pokemon that way, but the act probably predates human intervention.

As for nagas, taurs and all those things...they're a very rare occurence...they probably account for less than 0.1% of the world’s population. I don’t think there was any human intervention that led to their existence, they just…appeared. They can occur in a hybrid Pokemon if the parent is of a wildly different body type but that’s also pretty rare. And it doesn’t explain Pokemon whose parents don’t have that kind of body type. It’s probably just a super rare genetic mutation in most cases. Some people even think those kinds of Pokemon just got transported into our world from another universe or something…it’s a stretch but given how strange our world is anything is possible!

During the war did some Pokémon side with the humans and maybe some humans sided with the Pokémon? Loyalists and traitors of sorts.

Elsie: But there was one famous, prominent group consisting of both humans and civilized pokemon who worked together- whose main goal was to fight for peace, at whatever cost.

Eventually, they were able to get a peace treaty signed - on the condition that Civilized Pokemon be completely integrated into human society. This was the end of the Pokemon-Human war.

An interesting fact about that group though. They have some pretty close ties to this school! The human leader was the head professor of the biology department here. But more importantly, the Pokemon leader was a Zoroark named Sisyphus Harmonia. He was the one who fo- erm...re-founded this school after its infrastructure and reputation was considerably damaged from the war. Upon its revitalization, it was named after him. Pretty neat, huh.
