By sheer luck I found some vintage Gunpla at retail price! I’d been pining for a Core Booster so I could rep the movie trilogy in my 1/144 collection (and to put it next to the G-Armor it replaced) but seeing the 1/550 mobile armors I just had to go for it. Very exciting to build some old school kits again!

was a Gundam Café dish representing the intersecting fates of Lalah, Amuro and Char.

The lettuce wrapped stir-fry shaped like Lalah's spacecraft Elmeth was available from July 14th to September 5th 2016 at the restaurants' Akihabara and Osaka locations for 1296 yen (tax included).

The beam saber skewer was not to be taken home.

ONE PIECE 1122 SPOILERS REVIEW

I want to say there are a lot of things that I find really interesting in this chapter. The whole narratove, lore, development, there are a lot of things to talk.

The first one is the fact that there has been the belift that ONLY pirates would be able to find the one piece, which was proof to be false, everyone could find the one piece and here we are reading people's reaction to that. Some of them react ingenous or reacive and untrusty but others react with emotion.

What I find interesting is there's someone saying that "isn't that the reason on why the world sank in first place?" And it's so interesting this because ffor what we know, the reason of why the world is sinking is the goverment not necesarily the pirates.

Anad Vegapunk also mentioned a lot of being in a neutral side of what happened. I mean, we still don't have a lot of info but it's just curious to point it.

Second aspect is Koby and a lot of people will be hateful or angry at him but listen to me.

Luffy didn't help Koby expecting him to gave his life and dreams for Luffy, he didn't hope that Koby would quit his own dreams just for Luffy and this is a big mischaracterized thing the fandom has towards them.

We saw Luffy and Koby more as friends than rivals when in reality, Luffy and Koby's relationship is a pretty resemble to Garp and Roger's relationship, which means that both are RIVALS and friends, Koby's sense of duty intervene on Luffy's goal, so they would eventually be in each others path but in opposite sides.

This was something already established since Water 7, they both knew they were growing stronger and that some day they would need to face each other and it was even more confirmed in Marineford where both of them "fight" for their own goals and their conclusion of the whole event was almost the sense "I need to get stronger"

Luffy is not expecting Koby to be only his friend but also his rival, so don't feel betrayed by Koby saying something that was already established!

My third aspect and probably my biggest point is Elmeth.

Oh boy, I cried so much with this giant robot but let's explore slowly.

I LOVE the way is constantly telling us that LUFFY IS NOT JOYBOY HIMSELF! JoyBoy is dead, so it can't be him, Elmeth said it by himself(?) And I think that was such a beautiful writing, "there's no way that you are still alive but it looks alike you so much, I can't avoid to feel like that time" (forgive my bad translation pls)

The sense of nostalgia of Elmeth knowing that JoyBoy is dead but even with that he can still see him through Luffy in a certain way that even if it's not JoyBoy, it's still similar to him.

And this is what I love about Oda, he literally went directly to say "Luffy is Luffy", hiw personality, his story, his goals and motivations are because of his own persona, not only because being related to JoyBoy and I like the way just reafirm by saying "I think you confused me with another person", he is just unaware of all the comparision and history JoyBoy could have because he doesn't think as himself as JoyBoy.

And finally, the part that broke my heart was when Elmeth was talking to JoyBoy and they are full "I will help you from the past" and "thank you, it makes me really happy because when you died I will know that you would still be by my side" "there's a lot of time yet, so much time that is hard to me to think that I will be alone in the future"

BOY I WAS BAWLING MY EYES. It's just the way so sweet that Elmeth talks about and to JoyBoy, you can sense his love for this person that now It's just vanished in time and that is a vague memory from someone in the past. THE WHOLE ANGST IS SO HEARTBREAKING.

And as someone in grief, this hits double, because it's a feeling that I have feel due to missing my beloved ones, it's a feelings that a lot of people have of wanting to know that no matter what, the other one would be always with us even if they are not in a physical state and it just hit me so hard.

And this stuff is what makes One piece so especial to me, the way that made me cried isn't normal, this knot in my throat because the grief felt so real when I was reading. It just the nostalgic aspects that really push me more as well.

A lot of people focus more intol the whole haki revealed and the way JoyBoy looks but to me the most precious part of One piece would be this type of emotional writing.

Next up from SD Gundam G Generation:

The AMX-001 Prototype Qubeley. Originally designed as the MSN-008 during the waning days of the one year war, it was one of several units that were eventually completed at Axis. It was designed to be a direct successor to the MAN-08 Elmeth (MAN: Mobile Armour Newtype to MSN: Mobile Suit Newtype), best known for its use by Lahlah Sune, the Ghost of Solomon. Though the psycommu system was largely miniaturised, the Prototype Qubeley was still a large mobile suit, being roughly 25 metres tall. For reference, the RX-78 Gundam stood at roughly 18 meters tall, and the Qubeley itself, which succeeded the Prototype, was only 18.9 meters tall.

Armaments wise, the Prototype Qubeley was armed with two beam sabers built into the hands, analogous to those on the regular Qubeley. However, though powerful, they are not removable like the later model, nor can they double as beam guns. Perhaps in recognition of this, it was also armed with Vulcan guns, mounted on the chest, presumably to dissuade enemies from getting close. Instead of the aforementioned beam guns, the Prototype Qubeley had a set of Mega Particle Cannons mounted in the forearms, which were wired directly to the suits reactor, giving them high output. Interestingly, in order to fire these weapons, the hand would fold away and the arm would split in half to form a firing channel. Lastly, it was armed with psycommu system with which it controlled its funnels, which are miniaturised from the Elmeth’s Bits in both form and function. (It appears in Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam Define (below) with a funnel design similar to that of the Qubeley, but in the original game, Sd Gundam G Generation F, they appear as smaller versions of the Elmeth’s). Interestingly, the rear of the Prototype Qubeley where the Funnels are stored does resemble a smaller Elmeth.

Design-wise, really good. The powder blue and yellow and red really make it pop, and it certainly feels Zeonic, with its slim, mono-eyed head and little crown. I like its bulk, since it’s a transition between the round Elmenth to the elegant Qubeley, so it being a little ungainly fits very well, and yet all the spikes and pointy bits give it a good silhouette. My only criticism is that I can’t for the life of me figure out where its waist goes. The above-left picture of it from Z-Define just looks too hunched to me, but its official art makes its body look rather squat, atop its long and graceful legs. (Also, despite what you may think, that large yellow part just in front of the arm isn’t the mega particle cannon, it’s just the side of the chest). In a nutshell, it’s a nice design, I just wish we had more art of it, so it was a little clearer how it all fits together.

Also, wasn’t really sure where to put this, but that red and yellow panelled area on the side of the head? That apparently flashes in a rainbow when it’s charging it’s mega particle cannons, which is just a neat detail.

(Feel free to throw any more art of this thing at me, I know there’s a Gundam War Card design for it I haven’t seen)

Toon-girl234's HTF OC Spirit 🐺 joins in, and she's suiting her first "Cuteness Mecha Armor". The successor of the (prototype) Qubeley, the "Qubeley Mass Production Type".🤖 The same features as the original Qubeley albeit with two range weapons behind her back. 😁 Hope her new ability Psycommu System will mastered, as long as she'll getting into it. 😉

Qubeley Spirit Mass Production Type Came from the real - AMX-004G Qubeley Mass Production Type [CLICK ME!]

Armament(s):

Active Cannon • A pair of movable beam cannons are mounted on the suit's back and they have a wide-firing arc. The cannons can shoot at targets that are both in front of the armor suit and targets behind the armor suit.

Hand Launcher/Beam Saber • Mounted in the forearms, the pair of hand launchers/beam sabers are the same as the beam guns/sabers used by the Qubeley Mass Production Type's predecessor. When used as hand launchers, they function as beam guns and remain mounted in the forearms. When used as beam sabers, they are hand carried.

Funnels • The Qubeley Mass Production Type's most dangerous weapons system is the 30 psycommu controlled remote funnel weapons stored in the mobile suit's tail binder. The remote funnel weapon was based off of the Elmeth's larger remote bit, its smaller in size due to how it uses an energy capacitor system. Because the funnels don't have their own power generator they must recharge aboard the Qubeley after a certain amount of time. The remote funnels are used to create an all-range attack from multiple vectors, essentially creating a cage of beams that is impossible to dodge except for the most agile of armor suits and the most skilled of members.

I don’t talk much about the mobile suits because I don’t exactly know what to say and it seems that my friends have absolutely zero interest in Big Robots but like man. I like them a lot! I like the stuff they do I like their noises! I like the Gouf a lot because of how scary it was at first because of Ramba Ral’s battle experience and him beating up the Gundam going “this isn’t no Zaku!” that moment really stuck out with me even if it does literally just look like a Zaku and eventually becomes just as irrelevant.

So far I’m only really interested in gunpla of the suits I’ve actually seen in action but once I do see them in action I get REALLY interested because there’s just a lot of cool moments like. The Zeta Gundam’s first scene was also a whole big deal to me. Same to the Elmeth and Aerial from G-Witch and. idk. I like these shows a lot

So with Char’s Counterattack essentially being a novel (High-Streamer) and a movie and ANOTHER novel (Beltorchika’s Children) you get some version differences, the big ones being the Nu Gundam and Sazabi being replaced with the Hi-Nu Gundam and Nightingale, respectively. I wanna talk about the aesthetics of the Nightingale.

To begin, let’s take a brief look at how it looks next to the Sazabi

At face value the Nightingale is a more monstrous Sazabi, hunched with all sort of protruding parts, but it’s like a stretched-out Sazabi in some regards. Both even share design cues from Char’s helmet in 0079. Sazabi is clearly meant to harken back to bulky Zeon suit designs with its legs and pipes around the waist, it’s got Char’s signature color like his Zaku II, and the cockpit/escape pod is in the head just like the Zeong. I believe the Nightingale was purposefully meant to harken back to the “final boss” suits of each prior Gundam series.

As mentioned, the Zeong had a cockpit in the head which doubled as an escape craft and the Sazabi built off of that idea with the escape pod being inside the head, which Nightingale carries over as well. On top of that, the Zeong has a stupid amount of thrusters in its lower torso, so many that the skirt extends back and gives the suit a centaur-like appearance from the side. Nightingale ALSO has an elongated back-skirt packed full of thrusters. (You could also argue the chest mega-particle cannon in the Sazabi and Nightingale could be referencing the Zeong’s waist cannons but I think that’s a stretch.) The Zeong is also a massive suit even without legs, and while Sazabi is a big boy, the Nightingale is a goliath compared to other suits. The Hi-Nu is even slightly smaller than the Nu Gundam to emphasize this height disparity just like the Gundam vs the Zeong in 0079.

But another Zeon MS that Nightingale draws from is the Qubeley. The giant shoulder binders are a dead giveaway, with the Qubeley’s main thrust coming from those shoulder binders and the Nightingale ALSO having massive shoulder binders packed with thrusters. The Quebeley is based off the Elmeth and compacts its bit weaponry down into funnels, which become THE weapon for Newtypes in combat, and the Nightingale stores funnels on its shoulders. The extra tie all the way back to the Elmeth is kind of poetic given Char’s hangups about Lala, and ironic given his relationship with Haman. Both are Zeon MS so it’s not a big surprise, but what I find particularly interesting is how The O fits in.

Far bulkier than nearly any Zeon MS, Scirocco showed that suits from Jupiter were weird. The O has pipes around the waist like the Zaku did, but importantly the skirt armor is super thick and has square thrusters built into their sides, along with the legs and feet being very bulky and bulbous. Both Sazabi and Nightingale draw from that, but Nightingale also sports a set of sub-arms in its front-skirts just like The O did. Not entirely sure what this means in-universe (maybe that Char embraced a bit of Jupiter’s design sensibilities through Scirocco as a fellow Spacenoid?) but it’s a clear homage at the very least.

But yeah, Nightingale is like a chimera of the Zeong, The O, and Qubeley to create this kind of Ultimate Final Boss of a mobile suit while also warping the aesthetics of Sazabi in the process. Interesting to note that all of these suits were designed by Spacenoids for Spacenoids, even if a Jupiter design is an outlier. A very neat design and I quite like that visual aspect of it. It also helps that all of these suits look cool (I have a soft spot for the Zeong, okay?)

the newtypes are adding a lot to the fights here at the end. glad to have them

kai immediately got taken out. guess only the one who's spent the most time as a newtype can fight against this. maybe in another 20 episodes sayla and mirai will be at his current level of psychic ability. (i think that's right, iirc the black tri-stars were the first point he for sure showed any signs)
