The trio "new money shows it off" old money is quiet.
Tyrion: "ARE YOU CALLING MY FAMILY TACKY??"
Trio: if the silk tent fits
The really funny thing is that the Lannisters have had Casterly Rock and the associated wealth for just about as long as Sys' family have held the throne of the Northern Lands.
But the Lannisters have simply never grown out of acting like a bunch of spoiled rich little brats with Daddy's Amex Black and more money than taste or sense.
Sys, on Ellinon, has money money. Like, she could afford to be as tacky and gaudy and generally assholish about it as the Lannisters, but her family has moved on to the generally more understated Old Money sort of attitude and they just find it gauche and tasteless.
(Plus, they find it prudent to set money aside in good times against things like plague, famine, natural disaster, ect. It makes you not get murdered by angry commoners with magic powers as much.)

War in the Balkans: An Encyclopedic History from the Fall of the Ottoman Empire to the Breakup of Yugoslavia
This comprehensive encyclopedia is edited by the acclaimed historian Richard Hall and covers the general topic of war in the Balkans during the past two centuries. Some 60 leading scholars contributed well-examined snippets on the war in the Balkans culminating in a volume that is an excellent reference for a wide range of curious researchers.
Richard C. Hall's timely encyclopedia can help reporters and scholars investigate beyond a headline. The book features informative and expertly written essays with suggestions for further reading. As a leading scholar of Balkan history, Hall, Professor of History at Georgia Southwestern State University who has written multiple books on this topic, is an ideal editor for a work of such monumental scope ranging from the fall of the Ottoman Empire to the dissolution of Yugoslavia and beyond.
To produce nearly 240 entries covering 200 years requires assembling a team of researchers, which is precisely what this work achieved. Altogether, 62 expert contributors wrote entries spanning five categories: Events, Individuals, Organizations, Places, and Treaties.
The most impressive category of contributions is “Events," with 132 topics compromising 56% of all entries. Each war in the Balkans has many entries, and the encyclopedia dedicates five entries to the Balkan Wars of 1912-1913 alone. For these wars, there are separate “Causes” and “Consequences” essays that carefully consider the complex, intertwined factors leading to and resulting from the various Balkan conflicts. The "Events" category contains interesting and rather specific topics not commonly found elsewhere, such as a focus on the “Cold War in the Balkans” and “Ottoman Counterinsurgency Operations in the Balkans and Crete.” The scope of this category is so wide-ranging that it even includes entries covering the roles of Italy and Germany in the Balkans during the two World Wars.
The second category, “Individuals," is smaller, compromising only 24% of the total entries. This section includes an impressive array of people ranging from Ottoman Sultans to modern military leaders and politicians. Nonetheless, with only 56 entries on protagonists of Balkan conflicts, there is a little room for expansion and more coverage, especially with Greek leaders. For instance, figures such as Theodoros Kolokotronis and George Papadopoulos could have been fitting additions to the book's theme. Regardless, most major Balkan individuals are present with each entry on them following the customary high quality.
The remaining three categories — "Organizations," "Places," and "Treaties" — are understandably shorter in length. The category “Organizations” has 32 entries covering 14% of the total contributions. Topics such as the Balkan League, Black Hand, Kosovo Liberation Army, and UNPROFOR were not surprising inclusions. Yet, more concise topics like “Partisans in Albania” or “NATO in the Balkans” were surprising inclusions in a work of this kind. Once more, Greek topics could have been expanded to include groups such as the Philiki Eteria (Society of Friends) or IDEA (Ieros Desmos Ellinon Axiomatikon, or Holy Alliance of Greek Military Officers). The "Places" category could be expanded beyond its current 12 entries by including Cyprus. “Treaties," compromising only 1% of the entries with only 4 topics, could have been a more expansive, general category that included topics like Greater Serbia, Megali Idea, religion, ethnic cleansing, war crimes, and drug trafficking among other issues so intertwined with the war in the Balkans.
Richard Hall’s War in the Balkans is a wonderful addition to the ABC-CLIO/Greenwood Reference collection as its high-quality, accessible, and fascinating articles along with numerous illustrations and maps make the book a must-have for scholars and history enthusiasts alike. In today's digital era, this volume might be dismissed in favor of Wikipedia or other online sources. However, the depth of analysis achieved, along with the detailed and concise topics, is not easily found in traditional encyclopedias. This encyclopedia also offers much more than what students have grown accustomed to in the age before the internet. War in the Balkans is one of those books that hardly sits on a shelf for long.

The Barbie dolls that need the most attention.
Hiroki
Toshiro
Akira
Mitsuaki
Zero
Wyatt
I always crave attention for Hiroki, and exploring his role as King. Toshiro and Zero have never really had much going on, even I tend to neglect them. Wyatt has a very hard time getting along with literally anyone other than @mythcaels Ellinon, so keeping interactions with him is like pulling teeth.
Thank you for your sacrifice.

Exploring the heart of modern-day democracy in Athens.
The Greek Parliament House, also known as the Vouli Ton Ellinon, stands as a symbol of the birthplace of democracy and its enduring legacy. Located at Syntagma Square in the heart of Athens, this magnificent building has been the centre of political power in Greece for over a century.
As you step inside, you are greeted by the grand central staircase that leads to the main chamber, where the members of parliament convene to discuss the nation's affairs. The interior is adorned with intricate frescoes, marble columns, and elegant chandeliers, making it one of the most beautiful buildings in Athens.
One of the most fascinating aspects of the Parliament House is its role in the history of democracy. In the 19th century, the building served as the Royal Palace, but after the Greek War of Independence, it became the seat of the country's parliamentary government. Since then, the Parliament House has been the site of many historical moments, including the adoption of the Greek Constitution and the declaration of the country's independence from the Ottoman Empire.
Walking through the halls of the Parliament House, you can feel the weight of history and the spirit of democracy that pervades the building. The chambers where the members of parliament convene are richly decorated with portraits of Greek leaders and allegorical scenes from Greek mythology, reminding us of the nation's rich cultural heritage.
You can also explore the National Historical Museum, located in the basement of the building. Here, you can learn about the history of Greece and its journey to becoming a democratic nation, including the events that led to the country's independence and the achievements of its most outstanding leaders.

Wyatt is--tired. Mentally, physically, in just about every single way he felt drained. More than he cared to admit, honestly. He had just finished the reports he needed to submit for the bar, his eyes struggling with focusing any longer, and had pushed himself away from the desk. It wasn't even that late, but he hadn't slept the night before which he thinks had irritated Ellinon a bit. Some days--the nightmares, the things that haunt him, are a bit to much for him to even bother trying to sleep.
Ellinon was in the bedroom, looking to have just finished a shower and getting dressed. Wyatt was quiet as he opened the door and stepped inside, sparing a glance at the clock to see it was about seven in the evening. He usually gets home around five, and they have dinner. On very rare days, Wyatt even cooks for him. He thinks Ellinon likes those days best.
He makes his way up behind the other and gently wrapped his arms around Ellinon's waist, tugging the other back against him until he holding him in his arms. He leaned his head forward and tucked his face into the crown of Ellinon's hair. He smelled good, whatever odd shampoo he used that was definitely magical in nature was a very good scent on him.
He lets out a soft breath and closed his eyes, feeling himself relax against him. His headache was working away a little bit.
"I love you."
unprompted | always accepting.
He finds himself standing in front of the large mirror that he had placed into their bedroom, brushing his long locks of hair and wondering if he should maybe even braid it ( of course this thought process was merely a distraction to try and kick and worries or irritation he had towards Wyatt for not sleeping out of his brain ). He knew Wyatt had been awake for simply too long at this point and he sighs and grips the hairbrush tighter, so much for distracting his mind from worries and irritation.
There's arms around his waist so suddenly that he is blinking in surprise for having missed the other's presence in the room entirely. He really was in his own head for a moment there worrying about the very person holding him, huh ?
Any frustration he has towards Wyatt from the day before and even now just drifts away with how the other holds him close, watching his every action in the mirror. His expression grows so soft and his heart does that fluttery thing again, so full of love for this man that holds him like this when he has these little moments where he wants to. His magic is singing praises and his heart feels like it could simply burst where it sits in his chest.
The moment is so tender and wonderful and then the other utters those three little words that are anything but little to him. To be loved by someone, by Wyatt, is the best thing in the world in his mind really. To hear those three words spill from the others lips is everything to him, hearing those words mean the absolute world to him. Fingers clench the hairbrush so tight in his hand as he feels himself growing quite emotional over the moment ( so much so that he does feel bad for Wyatt as an empath in the moment ).
He feels it, the tears in his eyes and Ellinon does not remember the last time he had ever cried about something but he's just happy, so genuinely happy for once in his life and loved, loved for the first time in his life too and he's overwhelmed by it all. It was hardly the first time the other had been honest about his feelings but it was just everything that this moment was that hit him and opened some kind of dam of emotions within him.
He blinks and tears tumble so freely down pale cheeks but smile settles so softly onto lips as he leans back into the hold that the other has on him. He knows that Wyatt can feel that he is swimming with so much love for him, he's probably radiating it in waves but he has to say it back and it tumbles from lips so softly.
❝ I love you too . . . so very much. ❞

♚ — @mythcaels ;; Wyatt & Ellinon. “Wyatt, you’re bleeding.”
“Congrats, Ellinon, and here I thought you were capable of more thought than that.” Wyatt snapped, pushing the man out of the way to get to the kitchen and the first aid kit that was stashed under the sink. He yanked the doors open, grabbed the box and tossed it on top of the counter. “Not the first fucking stab wound I had and it’s not going to be the last. I don’t know why you’re standing there looking like that.” He had more issues to deal with than just the fact he was bleeding. “Maybe if I finally bleed to death the entire world will be happy.” Not that, he does actually have some self-preservation. Mostly because he refuses to die until he takes Luka Reid with him.
Wyatt unlatched the box on the kit and tossed the lid back, digging around for something to use to stitch the wound shut. He learned many forms of first aid while he was passed around as a slave. He can take care of horrible wounds, simple ones and even broken bones. Magic, his mother had taught him, could be healing too. But he’s never bothered to study that far into it when his own hands can do the same thing as a little bit of lights can. Just give him some fire and an iron poker and he can fix himself that way too.
#( ahh there's Wyatt )#( ellinon got to much love last night apparently )#♚ — resident; wyatt cross.#mythcaels#♚ — inquires answered.
