Something that I feel a lot of fans forget when they get angry at Phoebe for refusing to help Cole in the Wasteland is that he's not just asking her to save him. Despite saying that the Source is gone, he very intentionally still asks her to be evil. That's not me being dramatic or anything either because that's very explicitly canon. Phoebe, even as a Charmed One, doesn't have the power to resurrect Cole. As a good witch, she just physically (magically?) can't; it's not something within her abilities. (Obviously, otherwise, she and Piper would've resurrected Prue.)
The only method that Cole gives her to save him is the Grimoire. Y'know, the book that requires you to be evil to even touch it, much less use it. That's not something that you can trick; she would have to become evil again to even use it. He knows that, even acknowledges it to Phoebe in the Wasteland. She literally tells him that she won't use dark magic again, acknowledging it as evil. Cole isn't like oh, forgot about that! No, he asks her if she wouldn't use it "even for us." He knows what that would entail and what that would require Phoebe to do.
That isn't even getting into what the spell itself would require. This part, admittedly, is speculation but with the Grimoire being the Grimoire and resurrection like that being so rare and difficult, I have a hard time believing that the spell or ritual wouldn't have involved killing innocents. (Personal headcanon is that the spell calls for at least one heart personally. We see with Tuatha in That Old Black Magic that she uses a human heart to disempower witches. Something much worse would logically be required for a resurrection spell.) Just asking Phoebe even retrieve the Grimoire, much less use it, is bad.
As for later, she is still planning on giving up her powers, so it's not as if she'll be able to discover some other method to save him. She won't be Charmed anymore. And while, yes, the Angel of Destiny gives them some time to make this decision, there's still a time limit on how long they can take this option. Maybe with more time, Phoebe would have been able to figure out a way to save him without the Grimoire. However, it'd have required her to stay chained to a destiny that she no longer wanted and give up the future that she, and Piper, wanted: one free of magic, pain, loss, etc. So, yeah, she simply doesn't have the time, resources, or ability to save him without the Grimoire (which still isn't an option anyways). And by the time that she and Piper decide that they want to remain as witches, Cole has already freed himself, so it's a moot point anyways.
I mean, genuinely, in this situation, what did people want Phoebe to do? She didn't refuse to save Cole; she literally could not save him from the Wasteland. (And this is without delving into the argument about if Phoebe should save him or is obligated to save Cole anyways, which is a completely different question involving their relationship, choices, and morality.)

I forgot that Elise straight up ignores Phoebe's pleas to not have to talk to her abusive evil ex and is just like, "Okay whatever, interview him anyway." She even tries to use Phoebe's conflicted feelings about Cole against her. Like I'm not saying Charmed was perfect about its Girl Power Thing before, but damn if they didn't go super fucking gross about Phoebe during season 5.
Elise's comments about readers not needing to know Phoebe divorcing Superman also just make no sense. From the mermaid episode, it's made pretty clear none of the readers goddamn know about Phoebe and Cole's relationship at all. Otherwise Nancy Odell asking IF there's a man causing all the love in her column would just be stupid. And the worst part is that normally Elise isn't like this! Or at least I don't remember her being like that. But in this episode, for no good goddamn reason, she's a heartless asshole who's determined to exploit Phoebe's pain for views. And it's all in service to this gross, awful plot where Cole just won't fucking stop stalking Phoebe. And the show keeps acting like Phoebe not 100% hating Cole like means something other than it's very hard to move on from an abusive ex, even when they're clearly garbage for you.

A quick sketch of adult designs of Lottie, Morgan and Daniel in Perfumer!AU (it doesn't have a proper name yet, it's called like this bc it initially focused only on Melly, who is a perfumer).
This AU is very self indulgent, it's basically a compilation of alternative character/story development ideas I had and wanted to explore but couldn't fit into my rewrite or any other AUs. So it doesn't have a strong premise of sorts, just alternative paths for each character.
A lil explanation behind each of them
These designs in particular are their appearances as of 2024/2025, meaning they're 27-29 in here.
Daniel Page is a potions-based healer in Saint Mungo's. But he has a secret: at night, he goes to muggle hospitals and cures them with use of his potions and magic. MoM doesn't approve of this weird form of vigilantism, as it breaks the law, but they can't seem to find any clues that lead to any potential suspects' identities... For now, that is.
In Y4, Daniel and Morgan teamed up to take down NOTME together and get them all arrested, even though both agreed with their cause. As of 2024 , they succeeded in taking down the majority of the members, but a few escaped, Elliot among them. Daniel is determined to put an end to this group, especially after what happened to his mother.
Morgan Grimes is an ex NOTME member (unknown to most) and now works as a Ministry investigator under the Improper Use of Magic Office. However, he often uses this position to hide evidence against Daniel Page and to catch the remaining NOTME members.
Unlike the original Morgan, he could tell something was off about the group. He could feel there was more to the organization and their leaders than they let on and concerned for his safety, he wanted to leave, but he couldn't because he knew he would put himself in potential danger. So in order to both leave and prevent the group from doing something irreversible, in Y4 he started to think of a plan to take down NOTME, which lead to him teaming up with Daniel.
Lottie Turner is a journalist for The Daily Prophet, who tries to assure that the stories she writes about stay objectively true and legit, which sometimes isn't all that well seen by her higher-ups. However, she does tend to omit some of the truth whenever she gets a chance to report on a mysterious healer MoM wants to catch.
She, Daniel and Morgan started to hang out a lot together in Y5, forming their own trio of sorts and soon enough, Lottie figured out about their plan to take down NOTME and helped with it. She still helps them with it, whenever she can, especially with her position. She often works along with an ex housemate of hers, Elise Rosewell, who Lottie has certain suspicions about. She can tell she's hiding something... But what?

Meet the unsung contributor to revolutionary breakthroughs in treating polio, cancer, HPV, and even COVID-19: Henrietta Lacks. Born in 1920 Roanoke, Virginia, Henrietta's mother Eliza died when she was only four, and she was ultimately raised by her maternal grandfather in Clover, Virginia. Henrietta worked as a tobacco farmer and attended a segregated school until the age of 14, when she gave birth to a son, Lawrence. A daughter, Elsie, was born three years later --to compound the family's difficulties, Elsie had cerebral palsy and epilepsy. Henrietta and her now-husband David Lacks moved to Turner Station (now Dundalk), Maryland where David had landed a job with a nearby steel plant. At the time Turner Station was one of the oldest African-American communities in Baltimore County and there was sufficient community support for the family to buy a house and produce three more children.
In 1951 at the age of 31, Henrietta died at Johns Hopkins Hospital of cervical cancer, mere months after the birth of the family's youngest son. But before her death --and without her or her family's consent-- during a biopsy two tumour cell samples were taken from Henrietta's cervix and sent to Johns Hopkins researchers. Hernietta's cells carried a unique trait: an ability to rapidly multiply, producing a new generation every 24 hours; a breakthrough that no other human cell had achieved. Prior to this discovery, only cells that had been transformed by viruses or genetic mutations carried such a characteristic. With the prospect of now being able to work with what amounted to the first-ever naturally-occurring immortal human cells, researchers created a patent on the HeLa cell line but hid the donor's true identity under a fake name: Helen Lane.
It is no exaggeration to state that in the 70 years since her death, Henrietta's cells have been bought, sold, packaged, and shipped by thousands of laboratories; with her cells being used as a baseline in as many as 74,000 different studies (including some Nobel Prize winners). Her cells have even been sent into space to study the effects of microgravity, and were instrumental in the Human Genome Project. While no actual law (or even a code of ethics) necessarily required doctors to ask permission before taking tissue from a terminal patient, there was a very clear Maryland state law on the books that forbade tissue removal from the dead without permission, throwing the situation into something of a legal grey area. However because Henrietta was poor, minimally educated, and Black, this standard was quietly (and easily) circumvented and she was never recognized for her monumental contributions to science and medicine ...and her family was never compensated. The family remained unaware of Henrietta's contribution until 1975, when the HeLa line's provenance finally became public. Henrietta had been buried in an unmarked grave in the family cemetery in Clover, Virginia but in 2010 a new headstone was donated and dedicated, acknowledging her phenomenal contribution. That same year the John Hopkins Institute for Clinical and Translational Research established a new Henrietta Lacks Memorial lecture series. A statue of Lacks was commissioned in 2022, to be erected in Lacks's birthplace of Roanoke, Virginia --pointedly replacing a previous statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee, which had been removed following nationwide protests over the murder of George Floyd.
Dive into The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot, originally published in 2011 and subsequently adapted into an HBO movie in 2017, starring Oprah Winfrey as Henrietta's daughter Deborah and Renee Elise Goldberry as Henrietta. (And yes, this book has been challenged and banned in more than one school district.)
